Day 1: Arrival at Huemules Mountain Reserve

The adventure begins once you land at Esquel Airport, where a representative will greet you and bring you to the Huemules Natural Reserve.

After a light lunch, you will check-in and choose from one of the half-day excursion options. Activities depend on the season. From October-June, enjoy horseback riding, trekking, and mountain biking. Winter months (July-September) bring snowshoeing and ski touring.

Today, you'll choose two half-day excursions.

Spend the morning hiking through the mountains, horseback riding, or in another activity of your liking, then head back to the domes for lunch. The reserve proudly serves local food, including Argentinean steak, famous around the world for its tenderness and quality.

After you've gotten your strength back, it's time to head out on the second excursion of the day. At night, you can enjoy dinner and local wine in the domes.

Today after breakfast, you'll prepare for a full day tour of the majestic Los Alerces National Park

Getting to the park is half the adventure. First, you'll cross the Arrayanes River Bridge towards Mendez Lake. from here, you'll hike about 1.24mi (2km) before arriving at the Chucao Pier, where you'll board a boat. Cross the lake and disembark at the Sagrario Pier to start a hike towards park.

Los Alerces protects the millenary larch trees, some of which are 2,600 years old! Spend the rest of the day surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.

Today marks the end of your stay at Huemules Mountain Reserve.

Enjoy one last morning waking up to mountain views before heading back to Esquel to take your flight back home.
