2 Weeks in Bolivia - 4 Unique Itinerary Ideas
Consider yourself lucky if you have two weeks to spend in Bolivia: it's enough time to see many of the country's landscapes and cultural attractions. You could choose to focus on the Bolivian highlands, enjoying the colonial charm of Sucre, boating around Lake Titicaca, and driving through the one-of-a-kind Uyuni Salt Flats. Or you could center your trip around exploring indigenous cultures, opting for an itinerary that takes you to the farthest reaches of the Amazon and the Andes. Another option is to combine 10 days in Bolivia with a few more in Chile's Atacama Desert.
How Many Days to Spend in Bolivia
To properly experience Bolivia's diverse ecosystems and rich culture, plan on at least 10 days. In that time, you can visit different regions and tour cities and villages. With five days or a week, it's possible to hit many highlights like the southern salt flats and the Bolivian Amazon. And if you can spare two weeks, go big with an in-depth exploration of indigenous villages and geological sites or a trekking adventure around highland volcanoes and high-altitude lakes.
Best Time of Year to Visit Bolivia
From the Amazon jungle to soaring Andean peaks, Bolivia spans a vast range of elevation and a variety of microclimates and landscapes. Generally speaking, altitude and topography determine variations in local climates, but nationwide a clear-cut distinction between the "winter" dry season and "summer" wet season makes any decision on when to visit fairly simple. Winter brings sapphire skies and cooler temperatures, while in summer, wildflowers bloom, yet fog, clouds, and flooding are common.

Chilean part was a bit disappointing, as we didn’t realize it’s gonna be every day a half day trip from the hotel. We sort of expected the same customized trip with a small group where we could ask to stop somewhere and spend almost all the time outdoors.
Our first trip in Chile was as boring as possible and on the trip to Puritama Canyon the guide didn’t even speak English. Read more
It is good to know you had a good time in Bolivia, as we arranged private tours for you with lots of flexibility. In the Chilean desert, tours were shared with other travelers, so definitely not the same level of flexibility or personalization. I am sad you did not contact me with the issues you were experiencing in Chile, as I could have made some changes. I only found out after the trip. In any case, rest assured that we will no longer offer this provider for... Read more

Camila worked up a varied and comprehensive 16-day trip focused mostly on the altiplano. It was challenge for both of us to arrange a visit to Chipaya Village, a remote indigenous community. She was open to my requests for additions and changes and followed my progress daily while I was in-country. Camila provided probably the most detailed personal service I have ever had from a travel agency. Muchas gracias!
