“ We are a 22 year old couple seeking an adventurous getaway. We would like to experience the Nepalese culture, do some mini hikes with good views and see some glaciers/lakes/rural villages, with private vehicle and tour guide, english speaking. Would be great if you could figure out something for us :) ”

Greetings from Nepal and warm welcome to kimkim !!
My name is Ngima Dorji Sherpa, one of the travel experts for Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet and Sikkim in Nepal and kimkim's trusted local operator for Nepal. You can read more about myself and my company on my kimkim profile : https://www.kimkim.com/i/ngima-sherpa
Thank you for this itinerary Ngima! We will confirm the dates, and let you know again.
A few questions:
1. How much is the price of hot showers?
2. How much cash should we bring to cover all that is not included in the tour? (lets say if not much shopping will be done)
3. What kind of trekking equipment will we need?
4. What kind of weather should we be preparing for?
Thank you for getting back to us.
Well regarding your queries,
1) The hot showers will cost you around $2 per shower.
2) Besides your shopping budget, you can carry around $200 - $250 including tipping for your trek staffs after trek completion. Tipping might range from $100 - $150 for trek guide and $75 - $100 for your porter depending upon your happiness from their service to you during trek.
3 & 4) January will be a cold season. So you will need adequate warm clothings. Attached below is a list of normally recommended trek equipment list for your kind reference.
Our program price is the best minimum price offered to you which makes us difficult to cut down the price provided. If you agree to arrange lunch and dinner on your own besides the days on trek, then we can look into this option.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Thank you for the quick reply.
1.For the tipping fee, the 200$ is for both of us right ? or is it each.
2.On Day 1, 2 and 6 , are these days entirely travelling in the car or do we have some stops to sightsee and relax.
3.As for currency, do we need to bring USD ? or will NPR do?
Also can you reattach the packing list, because I couldn't see it.
To add, I see total of 5 nights of accommodation included, but the itinerary is for 7 nights, the remaining 2 nights, do we have to book our own?
Sorry for the attachment. It's as hereunder.
For tipping, above mentioned tip amount can be provided as a group, not individually. To be clear $150 to guide from both of your side, not separately. Same with the porter. You might need some extra beverage while on trek or tour too which you need to pay on your own. So better to take cash keeping these things on mind too.
Day 1 will be your arrival day and will be picked up from airport to Hotel. There will be no much long travelling to rest in the middle. On Day 2 and 6, you will be travelling in tourist sutlej bus which will stop by on the route for breakfast and lunch. You can have a breaktime in this time but no provision for relaxation or sight-seeing.
You can use either USD or NPR within Nepal. No problem with that.
And finally regarding accommodation, mentioned are accommodation for hotels besides trek. Accommodation of 2 nights during trek are already included in standard local lodges during trek.
I hope I was able to clarify all your queries. Please feel free to let me know if you have any confusions or any further queries.
Thank you Ngima! We will be booking the flight tickets and this tour shortly, we will let you know the dates we booked, but will be around the 3rd week of Jan. Last question about visa - is it needed for Singaporeans? How much is it?
We booked our flights! Here are the details:
Do you have to set the dates of the tour first before I buy it?
Regarding visa for Nepal, below article will be of help for you.
You can book and fix the dates so that we can place bookings for your hotel and all other necessary arrangements.

Thank you very much for confirming your trip.
Now we would like to request you to provide us your passport and passport size photo scanned copy which can be used to obtain permits later. You can either upload your passport and photo here in jpg/ pdf format or mail us in our email address : , whichever you find easy.

are these pictures fine?
resent a clearer picture of my passport
Thank you for the passport and picture. These are fine.
hey ngima, let us know the accommodation details once booked so we can apply for the visa online :) thanks!
oh and also, could you book double beds where possible and not twin beds, thank you!
Thank you very much for the documents. We will book the hotels as per your request with double beds and let you know once they are confirmed.
Thank you! Looking forward to your reply.
Hey ngima, will the accommodation have heaters?
Your Kathmandu hotel and Nagarkot hotels are already confirmed in the hotels mentioned in our program proposal. Meanwhile, we have confirmation yet to be received from Pokhara hotel. You will have AC rooms for Kathmandu and Nagarkot. For Pokhara, we will update you later after confirming hotel.
Thanks ngima! How about the mountain lodges, are they confirmed too?
Lodges while on trek are not booked in advance. The trek guide will arrange your lodge while on trek depending upon the destination you reach that day. You will be accommodated in clean standard lodges where your guide have most faith and relation as they are regular visitors to those lodges.
For trekking, you will need to bring sleeping bags for extra warmth for the night.
Great! We have purchased our sleeping bags. Will proceed to apply for the visa online.
A few more questions:
1. Upon arrival at the airport, who do we look out for or is there a number we should call to get picked up?
2. On the first day of arrival, will meals be provided at the hotel or somewhere else in Kathmandu?
3. As we arrive at 11am, is there anything planned for us on the first day? If no, we can explore around Kathmandu ourselves, no problem. Would be lovely if you could provide us some tips on what to see :)
I will come by myself to pick you up in the airport on the day of your arrival. I will be holding a placard with your name so that you can easily find me in the crowd. Afterwards, we can drive to your hotel Fuji in Thamel and discuss about meals that time on where to do.
Your first day is a freeday so you can stroll around city as you wish. You can visit Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Temple (if time permits) on that day.
Ok great. Looking forward to the trip!
Hi ngima, will we be on our own on the tourist bus rides? Or will there be a guide with us?
Your trek guide will also be with you in the tourist bus for KTM - PKR - KTM transfer.
Your Hotel in Pokhara has been confirmed in Pokhara Choice Inn, Deluxe double room for two nights as per the itinerary.
cool! is there anything else that we need to provide you with before our departure?
I think this is all we need. We will meet you in the evening of Jan 14 in your hotel for trek breifing and guide meeting. We will set the time few days prior to your arrival.
Looking forward to welcome you.
We will see you soon, thanks for coordinating everything. It has been a wonderful experience :)
Great. My pleasure !!
See you soon.
Hey ngima, is it possible to squeeze in paragliding in pokhara in the itinerary? And how much would it cost?
Yes, you can do afternoon paragliding on the day you return from Nayapul to Pokhara on jan 18. The cost of tandem paragliding will be USD 150.00 per person for one hour paragliding with photo and video.
Would you like to book this activity in your trip?
Hmm that was actually out of our price range. We were looking for something around 50-70usd. Is there any other fun/adventurous activities we can do around that price range?
You can also do half hour tandem paragliding for USD 90 per person including photo and video as January is off-season.
Or as an another option, after your return to Pokhara from trek, you can enjoy 1 hour boating in Phewa Lake, land across the lake and hike upto World Peace Stupa with your trek guide. After spending your time there, return the same way, cross the lake and walk to your hotel. This activitiy will cost USD 40.00 nett.
Thanks for the recommendations! Can we keep the boating in mind and decide on the day if we want to do it? Also, is it possible to pay in rupees for the activities there?
Wondering if we have free time to roam in pokhara or are there things planned for us to do?
Sure, you can decide after you return from trek and pay for activities in rupees if you feel fresh enough to do it. Otherwise you can have rest too as the day is free.
ok sounds good :)
hey Ngima, for entrance fees in kathmandu (for example, the temple and durbar square) is it possible to pay in rupees?
ok ignore that, i found out online that we can pay in rupees :) basically im figuring out how much USD we need to bring, I'm guessing it is only for the guide/porter tip and visa? If we choose to do any other activites (like paragliding), all can be paid in rupees right?
You can do all your expenses in Nepal currency if that makes you easy while you are in Nepal. For Paragliding, you can either pay in USD or Rupees but other activities can be paid in Rupees.
ok thanks! looking forward to the trip tomorrow!
I hope you have reached your home safely and hope you enjoyed your trek and your time in Nepal too. We would like to request you to write a short review on your trip and about our service in our kimkim page please.
Hope to serve you guys again for your next trip to Nepal.
We reached home safely - although there was a major delay! Delayed by 5 hours from Kathmandu and we missed all connecting flights back to Singapore. But everything was good, they put us up at a hotel and took the next flight out in the morning.
I am looking for a place to write a review but can't find it! Can you guide me how please.
does it have to say that we completed this trip? cos it still says says that we havent gone on the trip yet
I am checking it with our team members in US. It should have asked you for the review after your trip completion. I will let you know once I could figure out the problem. Anyways thank you very much for your time for this and glad that we could serve you for your trip to Nepal.
Our US team informed that the issue has been fixed regarding the date. Now you should be able to post a review.
Please let me know if you are facing any problem with posting the review.
The trip couldn't be more perfect! Ngima ensured that everything went smoothly and even spent a fair bit of time with us. Our guide, Pemba was very knowledgeable and ensured we were safe and comfortable throughout our trek.
Booking it thorough kimkim was an easy and straightforward process. We love how we got a customised trip based on our interest and could communicate and plan everything with Ngima easily through the chat function.
We highly recommend kimkim and ngima's company as service and quality is top notch.
