Summary of the trip planning conversation

Below are some useful excerpts from the trip planning conversation
My name is Bianca. I am based in Wadi Rum and would like to help you to plan your Jordan trip.

I put together the following trip plan for you. This plan covers all the places you wish to visit. Note that you will need 4 full days to do this trip. And, the days will be long and demanding. Normally, when travellers have 3-4 days I recommend to only visit the south of Jordan. One more note, all hikes in Wadi Mujib requires hikers to be at least 18 years.

Day 1 Cross the border in the early morning, transfer to Jerash (about 4,5 to 5-hour drive), visit of Jerash, transfer to Madaba (about 1,5-hour drive) - overnight stay in Madaba
Day 2 Visit Madaba, transfer to Wadi Mujib with a stop at Mount Nebo - hike in Wadi Mujib and transfer to Wadi Musa - overnight stay in Wadi Musa.
Day 3 Day visit of Petra and late afternoon transfer to Wadi Rum - overnight stay in Wadi Rum
Day 4 Day tour of Wadi Rum and transfer to the border

Let me know what you think of the suggested itinerary.

Warm greetings from Wadi Rum,

Bianca

One note up front. The 30th of September the Wadi Araba border is closed due to Yom Kippur. So you can only cross into Jordan at the 1st of October.

I will share 2 options for your days in Jordan with you. One that fits most of the site you wish to visit and another one from which I know this will be a rewarding experience of Jordan.

1st of October
Cross the border in the early morning, transfer to Jerash, visit of Jerash (the biggest Roman site outside Italy), transfer to Mount Nebo, visit the church and enjoy the sunset. Afterwards continue to Madaba - overnight stay in Madaba
2nd of October
Early morning transfer to Wadi Musa and visit Petra the rest of the day + Petra by Night - overnight stay in Wadi Musa
3rd of October
Early morning transfer to Wadi Rum for a day tour of Wadi Rum and transfer to the border

1st of October
Cross the border in the early morning, transfer to Jerash, visit of Jerash (the biggest Roman site outside Italy), transfer to Mount Nebo, visit the church and enjoy the sunset. Afterwards continue to Madaba - overnight stay in Madaba (6-7 hours of driving)
2nd of October
Early morning transfer to Wadi Musa and visit Petra the rest of the day + Petra by Night - overnight stay in Wadi Musa (3 hours of driving)
3rd of October
Early morning transfer to Wadi Rum for a day tour of Wadi Rum and transfer to the border (3 hours of driving)

The more rewarding, doable, affordable and therefore recommendable program would be.

1st of October
Cross the border in the early morning. A driver will take you to Wadi Rum for a full day tour in Wadi Rum to explore the most famous sites. It will be an active day full of variety - overnight stay in the desert either in a Bedouin camp or like the Bedouin do, back to basics, outside sleeping under the starry night sky. You will join a tour organised by Wadi Rum Nomads. This guarantees a true Bedouin experience and tasty, freshly prepared meals and of course, the famous Bedouin tea.
2nd of October
After you return from your tour you will be transferred to Wadi Musa. You can visit Petra the rest of the day. You can visit some of the most famous sites in Petra and at night you can return to attend Petra by Night - overnight stay in Wadi Musa
3rd of October
Go off the beaten track and hike the scenic back road into Petra and visit the Monastery. Your 14-year old can do this hike as well. Mid-afternoon transfer to the Wadi Araba border.
The total amount of driving ours in these 3 days together is 5 hours.

Let me know which trip plan sounds most attractive to you. Then I can provide you with a detailed program including price. Please note that I will be out of the office all day tomorrow.

Warm greetings from Wadi Rum,

Bianca

My travel partners are a little concerned. They would like to know where are we actually sleeping in the Bedouin camp. I know we have discussed this but is it a tent or proper secured house/ villa? And we have 2 separate rooms for 2 ppl in each? Is there a possibility that after we do the sunset and dinner, we could go to have accomodation at a hotel close by? I am just looking at options

Also, the team believe that it's too tiring to cross the border on the 3rd, then catch a flight to tel aviv then start another tour at 6am on the 4th.

I was wondering if we can start the tour from Jordan itself (we will fly to Jordan) a day earlier- start the tour then. And finish on the 2nd in Jordan (drop us back to Amman) then we will have 3rd October to rest? I understand that Petra by night is not available everyday....so we might have to move Petra to a day that we can do Petra light up?

Traveler Review

This was one of the best trips I have been on. So well organised. 5 start accommodation and service. The guide we had was so friendly and helpful. The taxi drivers were friendly and very helpful too. I would recommend this tour and company to anyone who wants the best in Jordan.

Bianca did every she could to get the best tour together for my team. I changed the plan/days multiple times and Bianca continued to help us get the best price and experience out of it.
