“Me and my wife are spending 3 full days in Iceland in September. Want to do Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle and south coast waterfalls. Also weather permitting want to see borealis. Looking for reasonable tours and transit to/from airport. Thanks!”

Trip planning conversation
Hello, my name is Michelle Maurer and I am an experienced travel expert for kimkim.
I have quite a bit of info from Internet -- saw your website which made me think you may bring everything together.
I will put you in touch with a local expert who lives in Iceland and can put together an itinerary for you and also book it all for you.
A few questions first, how many people are you traveling with?
Just me and my wife
Ok great, and it is for 3 nights and 4 days?
We arrive late on night of 10th. We leave on afternoon of 14th
Great! Before I pair you with the right expert, can you give me an approximate budget you have for your trip?
Hotels I have seen are about $300cdn a night including breakfast. Tours range between $100 and $200 Cdn per person These amounts are acceptable to us
Thanks for this. I will invite a local expert who lives in Iceland to our conversation, and you will receive an email when they send you a message here.
And if you have any other thoughts or details you would like the expert to know, please feel free to add it to this conversation.
Nothing yet. Once the Iceland person is on, we can talk details and logistics
I expect Iceland has gone to bed by now. So we can pick this up sometime tomorrow. Ok??
Yes, you will receive an email once the expert has joined the conversation. Thank you.
Hi, nice to meet you.
My name is Bjorn and I am a Iceland travel expert at kimkim. I am born and raised in Iceland and I know my country well by experience.
I am very happy to assist you in planning your Iceland adventure!
Are you looking for a special kind of accommodation? Would a 3* hotel good?
Hi Bjorn I saw the Residence Inn in Reykjavik. Is that good---got good review on Trip Advisor. Also, should we spend all nights in town or should we spend one or two night at a place like the Northern Lights hotel near the Blue Lagoon. Silica hotel is fully booked for our days we are there.
Saw Geoiceland tours website---are they good or do you think Gray Lines is better?
Bjorn. We continue to do our own research and want to finalize soon. Should we spend one night at the silica hotel instead of the northern lights hotel? Will we get a good view of the nightsky at the silica hotel?
Forgot to mention that it appears that Silica may have some availability. When can we expect to hear from you?
Hi. If you want to spend a night at the Ion hotel you would have to rent a car. You could spend a night at the Silica hotel since there is a coach service that runs every day to the Blue Lagoon. Tomorrow I will send you a suggestion of a plan and the price for that package. If you do not like that we will work on it until you are. Hope that sounds good.
What we are now thinking, is to stay overnight on the 13th at the Silica and then go to the airport from there on the 14th. Any ideas on how we get from Reykjavik to Silica?
There are buses that run every day to the Blue Lagoon The Silica hotel is located about 10 min walk from where the buses stop. I will find out if there is a possibility for a car transport between.
I can offer you the following package:
Airport coach transport to your hotel.
Double standard room at a 3* hotel in Reykjavik for 3 nights. Breakfast included.
South Shore day tour by coach
Golden Circle day tour by coach
Transfer to the Silica Blue Lagoon hotel by coach.
1 night at the Silica hotel in Double standard room. Breakfast and admission to the Blue Lagoon included.
Transfer by coach from the Silica hotel to the airport.
Total price 2.530 CAD
Thanks Bjorn. Can you provide some info such as which hotel and which tour company. I assume the total is for two people??
We usually use Reykjavik excursions for tours.
The hotel is Best Western, a 3* hotel in Reykjavik.
