“We would like to see the biodiversity and wildlife of Colombia and some of the rural culture. We would be interested In seeing the Andes and amazon but also don't mind going to the west coast. We are starting in Bogota and have from nov 15-20 before meeting up with friends. We are pretty open to a mellow trek.”

We would like it to be a trek to a bunch of central Andes communities with opportunities to see wildlife and go on hikes in remote areas.
Thanks for your message and for your interest in discovering Colombia with us.
We would be more tha pleased in helping you organize this adventure in our country.
In order to know more in detail, your preferences and to better advice you about the different oprtions of treks and activities we have in the region, I would like to arrange a phone call or skype with you this afternoon, if possible for you. Please let me know at what time this is more convenient for you and a phone number in which I can reach you. Also if you use skype you can add me to your contact list, katherine.aventurecolombia
I would love to Skype and can probably do that tomorrow. What times are you available?
Hi! that's great. I'll be available for a call during the afternoon (Colombian time), I think you must be more or less one hour ahead of us, depending on where you're located. Please let me know at what time it suites you best.
I was thinking...
Day 1: San Agustín (Discover the Archeological Park)
Day 2: San Agustín (One day hike to "Los tres Chorros waterfalls)
Day 3: San Agustín -Popayán (Walking tour at Popayán)
Day 4: Popayán - Salento (Located in the coffee region, Salento is one of the most traditional small towns of the area and the gate towards the amazing Cocora Valley) In the afternoon, visit a traditional coffee farm.
option 1 : 1 day excursion at the Cocora Valley.
option 2: Start a 3 day trek toward "Los Nevados Nacional Park".
It looks like we only have from the 18th-21st since we already have plans to Cartegena on the evening of the 21st or morning of the 22nd. Would it be able to alter this tip trip a little? Do days 3,4 and 5 (a day excursion of Cocora valley). Thank you
Thanks for your reply.
Sure, you mean doing just the coffee region?
There, aside from the Cocora Valley we can also plan a visit to Finca la Romelia where you can do birdwatching. Colombia is one the main countries where we you can watch a very large number of birds’ species. Since you're interested in nature and wildlife I think this would be a fantastic thing to do while in our country.
Hi Katherine, that sounds good. Lets go that route. Let me know what the cost will be so I can discuss it with my friend. Thank you
Perfect! I would send you all the detailed information as soon as possible.
Hi Katherine, would that be the price per person even though we would only be doing 3 days instead of 5? Also, would it be possible to be flown to Medellin instead when the tour is done?
Thanks for your reply.
Well if you are only doing 3 out of the 5 days proposed then the price per person would change. Which days would you like to eliminate?
On the other hand, yes it is possible to change the flight to Medellin instead of Cartagena, but it could maybe be more convenient for you if we arrange a private transport. It's a 5 hours trip but the landscapes you’ll see during the trip make it worth it.
I look forward to your comments.
Just one more detail regarding the program...
I designed the itinerary arriving to the Coffee Refion on the 18th November and then departing the 22th in the morning.
After talking to my friend we would like to do all 5 days, but would like to book our own transportation. I had my days wrong, but we arrive early morning on the 18th and would like to be in Cartegena on the 22nd.
Thanks for the itinerary, I'm really excited about this trip!
Great news! I'll quickly check the availability at the hotel in Salento for all 4 nights.
Just one question, when you say you will book your own transportation that means the domestic flights?
I look forward to your comments.
Yes, the domestic flights we would like to book ourselves. Thank you!
There are no activities planned for day 5. You can book your flight in the morning if you like...
That would be the 22nd November
great, thank you!
I'm just waiting for the hotel's confirmation to send you the final proposal so that you can book it directly in this platform.
much appreciated - i'm looking forward to some street food, local coffee and booze. Thanks for all the help
We are also looking forward to having you in our country :)
Just one quick question. Would it be ok a double room with twin beds?
yes, no problem. We have known each other since highschool so close quarters are totally fine
Question - Our flight into Bogota on 11/18 is scheduled to get in at 6AM, so i dont think that we will be able to catch the 6:35AM flight BOG>AXM in case there are any delays, etc. However, the next flight out isn't until 9:12AM arrival into AXM at 10:15AM. Would that be too late to effectively make the most out of the first day? I am also seeing some flights which can get us into PEI by 8:45AM which seems about equidistant from Salento. Please advise which option would be better. Thank you!
Taking the 6:35 AM flight would not be an option, as you will need to be at the airport at least one hour before your flight's departure time.
As you mentioned, Pereira is also very near Salento, although you may have to take into account the transfer from the airport to this village will alter just a bit the price (maybe 20 USD more in total). But I think it is a very good option as well. Anyways the activity we have planned for that day is the visit to a coffee farm and this would take place in the afternoon. I do agree it would be better if you arrive earlier.
Please let me know what you choose and I would send you the final proposal tomorrow morning.
I'm going to just bite the bullet and say that we will be flying into PEI morning of 11/18 and should have our flights booked by tomorrow morning
just waiting for the payment verification to go through, but these are the flights we have booked:
Friday, November 18, 2016
Departure: 07:45 Bogotá, Colombia - El Dorado Internacional, Terminal 1
Arrival: 08:45 Pereira, Colombia - Matecana International
Tuesday, November 22, 2016
Departure: 05:43 Armenia, Colombia - El Eden International
Arrival: 06:38 Bogotá, Colombia - El Dorado Internacional, Terminal 2
Departure: 08:05 Bogotá, Colombia - El Dorado Internacional, Terminal 1
Arrival: 09:37 Cartagena, Colombia - Rafael Nunez International
Quick question - would you be able to set up a simple transfer from CTG to our Hostel - El Viajero Cartagena Hostel, Calle 7 Infantes, Cartagena, Colombia? And also what would the price on that be?
Hello! These are great news! I also got the confirmation from the hotel in Salento. So we are good to go now. I'll just need to update the price for the transfer from your Pereira and will send you the final proposal so that you can book it.
We can also inlcude the transfer from the airport in Cartagena to your hotel. That would be around 8 dollars per person.
Should I include it?
Yes, let's include that. Thank you!
sorry, changed our minds, we will just find our own way upon arrival into CTG, Thank you!
I would just need a copy of your passports and the travelers registration form filled (I'll send it attached in a couple of minutes).
Also, can you please send me the information of your hotel in Bogotá in order to coordinate the pick up before your flight to Pereira?
We are actually flying into Bogota on 11/18 from San Francisco so no need for a pickup from hotel that day as we will already be at the airport.... curious to see if you included price for Bogota transfer in our total?
Also, upon completion of the registration, where should we send it to? It doesn't seem like I am able to attach documents to this chat from my end.
(Katherine will check-in on your previous question)
Thanks, you guys are so quick!
We try to keep up :)
Hi! Thanks for your answer. Yes this transfer was included in the price. Since you already paid, we can offer you another service in change if you like. It could be the transfer in Cartagena.
Could I just get a refund for that portion? Thanks
Yes,if you like we can refund you that in our office in Cartagena. Is located in the historical center of the city.
Oh! Just a thought came to mind. Is it customary in Colombia to tip the travel guides? And if so, how much is standard?
Yes, well I'll send you a travel document next week where you can find all the usefull information, but it is around 5 to 10 USD.
Thanks to both of you. Will make sure we have tips on hand.
You're welcome :)
Hope everything is going great.
