What you'll do

Embark on an excursion to explore two cities in the Chilean Lake District, beginning with hotel pick-up in Puerto Varas. From here, your knowledgeable local guide will likely take you to the Manuel Montt Viewpoint, offering a panoramic view of Puerto Montt, the Seno de Reloncaví body of water, and the quaint Tenglo Island. From here, you might visit the bustling Plaza de Armas, a central square featuring the Monument to the German Colonists.

Next, it's common to explore Angelmó Port, a picturesque spot with small traditional restaurants and a farmers market. You can discover local handicrafts at the Municipal Market. You may finish this part of the excursion at the Chinquihue resort.

The next stage of your adventure is the drive back to Puerto Varas, with views of Philippi Park, built in honor of Bernardo Philippi, a German scientist and botanist. Notice the illuminated monumental cross at it's summit. You may continue the short drive until you reach the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a replica of a German church from the Black Forest. If the weather is pleasant, you might take a break outside and enjoy picturesque views of the Osorno Volcano before ending the journey at Puerto Chico, a resort perfect for unwinding and taking in the area's natural beauty.

We really enjoyed Damian and the tour of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas, especially when he stopped for us at the fish market (where we found some great souvenirs) and made sure we went around back to see the sea lions!!!! It was a bit more industrial than some of our excursions, but Damian found some wonderful vista points to see the cities and he knew his way around very well (which is the exact reason to engage someone to guide you around the cities).
