What you'll do

Embark on a 6-hour exploration of Chile's Lake District, starting with hotel pick-up in Puerto Varas. During the journey, you'll likely drive along the scenic Lago Llanquihue, the largest lake in Chile. Along the way, you may pass popular sites, including the Poza, the German Club with a Water Mill, and the Bella Vista cabins, until you arrive at Ensenada village. This charming locale, nestled between the imposing Osorno and Calbuco volcanoes, offers an opportunity to browse local handicrafts and soak up the traditional culture.

After exploring Ensenada, it's common to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant (note that lunch isn't typically included in the tour price). After lunch, perhaps your guide will lead you to Chile's oldest national park, Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, where you can check out the powerful Petrohué Falls. It's common to spend about an hour and a half here, allowing plenty of time to capture memorable photos of the cascading waters or take a short hike.

From here, your guide will likely drive you to Todos Los Santos Lake, known as the Emerald Lake. You may spend about 20 minutes here, enjoying the beautiful scenery and reflecting on your day. As your enriching journey concludes, you'll be transported back to your hotel in Puerto Varas.

We were able to visit these falls on the day we drove from Puyehyue. It was a beautiful day and despite the lower water levels due to the time of the year, the Petrohue Falls and river were beautiful and well worth the drive. We were also able to visit Todos Los Santos lake and drove to the top of the Orsono volcano for some beautiful views of the valley that same day.
