The trip was great. My only disappointment was the accommodations at three of our hotels. The group consisted of seven people ages ranging from 63 to 76. A few hotels had stairs that were difficult to navigate And no lift available. Also two hotels had no AC and one didn’t have a fan and no AC. One of our high lights was the food tour In Kinsale. It was awesome.

Ramune in Vilnius was one of the best. Not only her vivacious and energetic personality but her knowledge and efforts to learn more about me and from me. I must point out that she visited the towns I requested a few days beforehand so she can learn and prepare herself. That is remarkable.
Emerson and Moonika were on top of things and were accommodating, responsive. I had the pleasure of meeting them both.
Ad I mentioned to Emerson ,I would not recommend the Koventa Seta hotel in Riga but rather choose a smaller more intimate hotel . This one was noisy ,it has a few bldgs which don’t have elevators that they don’t tell you even when you check in.
I will definitely choose KimKim again for my future travel.

One of the most beautiful places on this trip. Quite serene and simply elegant . The dinner at the restaurant is top notch. Breakfast unfortunately starts at 8:30 which is late for early risers. The manager was willing to accommodate me for a 7:30 room service but the kitchen was not prepared and I received it 30 minutes late. It would have not been an issue but I had preplanned a guide and driver picking me up. I suggest to staff to open early to accommodate the guests.

The location is fantastic but the hotel has 5 bldgs all on the same old street. The ONLY BLDG which has a lobby is the main one where the reception is. It has a restaurant across the main bldg which serves as a beer garden during the evening. Extremely noisy if you stay in one of the bldgs close by. The restaurant for breakfast is excellent. Most of the bldgs they assign to you DO NOT have elevators.they don’t tell you this when you check in. I asked for a high floor so they gave it to me upon checking in not fleeing me I am in a separate building without an elevator. Upon asking the front desk they responded I should have known!. We had a group of six with ages ranging from 11 to 70, and everyone had a great time! There was a minor hiccup when our guide for a walking tour of Bergen did not arrive on time, but that got worked out in short order after I posted a message in the Kim Kim app. Delaying that activity to the afternoon actually ended up being better for us because the weather improved and we got an awesome guide named Thomas. We particularly enjoyed our time in Balestrand in the middle of the trip with the highlight being a private sightseeing tour via boat of the surrounding fjords. Our guide, Thor, did an amazing job tailoring that experience so everyone in our family found it enjoyable despite the "hyper-nature" conditions (it rained most of the time). For the most part, everything related to transportation and lodging went smoothly. I will certainly consider engaging Kim Kim again for trips in the future.

Late last fall I started looking at trips for the family and found a National Geographic trip to Portugal that looked interesting. My daughter-in-law (part of the family going on the trip) found KimKim online, and that is how we started communicating with Pedro Luis. We had a few written conversations then spoke on the phone to work out what itinerary options seemed best. The price was higher than the group tour, but it was also definitely much more flexible and that had a lot of appeal for us. So we signed up for a two-part tour: the first part (Lisbon, Algarve, and Cascais) was for the 3-generation family, and the second part (up to Porto for 3 nights) for the 2 retired folks after the younger ones returned to the US for work and school. It all worked out perfectly.

I'm not sure what is the most memorable part of the trip. So many places were interesting and/or fun. The Pena Palace, Joanine Library in Coimbra, the Douro Valley, the various boat tours--all these and more were great.

A few more detailed comments: (1) The itinerary that Pedro worked out was perfect for the family. Everyone enjoyed the trip immensely. (2) It all worked: the expected tickets were all booked, the hotels were all booked, drivers showed up when and where they were scheduled to show up. Everything was very smooth, with no glitches. This is how it is supposed to happen! (3) All of the drivers, boat captains, and tour guides were competent, polite, very informative, gracious, sufficiently flexible, attentive to our needs, and responsive to our requests. For example, on two occasions, we didn't really want a large fancy lunch; we just wanted a sandwich. In each case, the driver knew of a not-so-touristy place that had exactly what we wanted. And oh my, those sandwiches were simply the best! I'm sure they knew of other fancier restaurants if that is what we had asked for, but we didn't want that. (4) All the drivers, boat captains, and tour guides spoke English at a sufficiently high level for effective communication, which was great. Communication was never a problem and we really enjoyed visiting with them all. (5) The hotels were spectacular. Very lovely choices. The staff at all the hotels were all very professional and helpful and again, all spoke English. (6) We had no issues to resolve, but I felt confident that Pedro or one of his colleagues would have been available to help resolve any problems if they had occurred. Pedro regularly kept in touch with us during the trip and provided us contact information in case of any problem.

In summary, let me say that I am generally reluctant to recommend much of anything because other people have different perspectives and so I usually resist "recommending", but we have already recommended KimKim to one family member who plans to travel to Spain in the near future and to one couple who we chatted with in an elevator ride!

Thanks, Pedro, for a great trip. We really enjoyed our time in Portugal.

Our trip through Peru was absolutely incredible! So much of that comes down to the thoughtful planning and care from Jimena. Right from our first planning message—and from the moment we landed in Lima until we flew out of Cusco—everything ran seamlessly. Jimena took the time to figure out exactly what we wanted, striking the perfect balance between iconic highlights and authentic local experiences.
Traveling with two teenagers (ages 16 and 18!), I was blown away by how well the itinerary fit our family. Every day brought amazing new experiences—from biking through Lima and tasting our way through local markets to hiking the Sacred Valley, exploring Moray and the Maras salt ponds, and of course, taking in Machu Picchu.
A huge shoutout to Guido, who was an absolute rockstar of a guide. His knowledge of Peruvian history and culture brought every site to life, and he had an amazing knack for keeping everyone entertained and curious. We always felt like we were in the best hands. Machu Picchu was unforgettable, and even though rainy weather kept us from getting the full view at Humantay Lake, the hike itself was still unbelievable—as was Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain! Experiencing Cusco and the Sacred Valley gave us such a rich look at Peru beyond the typical tourist trail.
Jimena made the whole journey feel effortless. Transfers, hotels, timing—it all clicked into place so we could just relax and soak it all in. This was our first time in Peru, and it blew all of us away. We came home with incredible experiences and lifelong memories.
If you’re planning a trip, work with Jimena—and if you get Guido as your guide, consider yourself super lucky!

If you are planning a trip to Africa, do yourself a favor and work with KimKim, specifically Anne Marie and Janneke. They planned an absolute masterpiece of an itinerary for our family and provided extraordinary in-country support from start to finish.

The Ultimate Stress-Free Experience
An itinerary like ours had a lot of moving parts, multiple countries, border crossings, and virtually every mode of transportation imaginable (commercial planes, bush planes, helicopters, and private cars). On paper, the logistics looked incredibly complicated, but in reality, everything was 100% seamless. Anne Marie and Janneke held our hands through the entire journey, taking every ounce of stress off our shoulders so we could just be present and soak in the experience.

Unforgettable Highlights Across Every Stop
We packed our days with activities, and every single location delivered something truly special:

Johannesburg: A powerful, eye-opening tour of Soweto that gave us such deep context and appreciation for the culture and history.

Kruger National Park: Unbelievable game drives and breathtaking wildlife encounters.

Cape Town: Going up Table Mountain offered stunning views, and visiting the African penguins at Boulders Beach was an absolute favorite for everyone.

Victoria Falls & Zimbabwe: Seeing the Falls from the air via helicopter was surreal, and our village tour in Zimbabwe was a deeply moving, beautiful experience that connected us directly with the local community.

Botswana (Chobe & the Okavango Delta): Pure, untouched paradise with world-class safari experiences on both land and water.

Incredible Lodging & Warm Hospitality
Every single lodge and hotel chosen by Anne Marie and Janneke was phenomenal—luxurious, comfortable, and perfectly suited to our group. But beyond the beautiful settings, what truly set this trip apart was the people. In every town, lodge, and country we visited, everyone was exceptionally warm, welcoming, and friendly.

Perfect for the Whole Family
Traveling with a mix of teenagers and adults isn't always easy to balance, but they nailed it. Every activity was engaging, fun, and age-appropriate for everyone. The teens were completely captivated from start to finish—which is no small feat!

Bottom Line: This was truly a trip of a lifetime, made completely effortless by world-class travel planners. Thank you to Anne Marie, Janneke, and the KimKim team for your care, precision, and warmth. We couldn't have asked for a better African adventure!

Victoria Falls,

Our stay at Pioneers Lodge in Victoria Falls was wonderful! It delivered the ideal combination; it has all the great amenities of a large hotel, while retaining all the quaintness, warmth, and character of a small, intimate property. Some Highlights: Gorgeous Design: the design and ambiance of the lodge are full of charm. It has a historical luxury vibe that is really lovely. Spacious Family Room: We stayed in a family room that worked brilliantly for the four of us. It was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and gave us all plenty of space to relax. Lovely Courtyard & Pools: The property centers around a beautiful, lush courtyard. The family loved having access to two great swimming pools, which were perfect for cooling off after a long day of sightseeing. Additionally, the daily breakfast was fantastic, and the bar area offered a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere to unwind with a drink in the evenings. Lastly, the staff were warm and accommodating. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Every interaction was met with genuine friendliness and great hospitality.

A few highlights: Amazing Breakfast: The morning breakfast spread was absolutely delicious—fresh, high-quality, and offered something wonderful for every palate before a full day of sightseeing. I highly recommend opting to have breakfast at the hotel. Accommodating Staff: The hospitality was top-notch. The staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed to make our stay seamless. Beautiful Property: The hotel itself is clean, modern, and has elegant interiors, and comfortable, stylish rooms.

Everything about the property met and exceeded our expectations, creating an authentic and high-end bush experience we will never forget. Beautiful Property, Great Rooms & Delicious Food The lodge itself is stunning, perfectly nestled in the bush with peaceful surroundings and incredible views. The Rooms: Spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautifully appointed to blend luxury with nature. The Food: Absolutely delicious! Every single meal served was fresh, flavorful, and memorable. Phenomenal Game Drives with Ingrid While the accommodations and meals were top-tier, what truly made our trip extraordinary were the game drives. Our guide, Ingrid, was outstanding. Her expertise and tracking skills are amazing, she had an incredible knack for finding wildlife and tracking down unforgettable sightings. Just as importantly, Ingrid tailored the entire safari experience to suit our family group, which included teenagers. Keeping kids fully engaged for hours on end can be hard, but Ingrid connected with everyone effortlessly, catered to our group's pace and interests, and made every single drive thrilling and educational.

The staff was accommodating, treating us with such genuine warmth and attentiveness that we felt completely pampered from the moment we arrived. The food was perfect. I’m really happy to hear that you had such a great time, especially with the local guides. It sounds like Jack, Ruari, and John made your experiences even more special, and I’m glad you enjoyed getting to know more about local life.

I’m also so glad you enjoyed your stay at the Glenmoriston Townhouse and had some memorable experiences in London, Edinburgh, and Inverness.

Thank you as well for your honest feedback about the hotels. I really appreciate you sharing both the good and the things that could have been better.

It was a pleasure planning your trip, and I’m so happy to hear that you came home with wonderful memories. ❤️

Warmest wishes,
Kate

It's hard for me to say which aspect of the trip was most memorable. Was it seeing in person the World Heritage fjords (something I had on my bucket list) or was it the experience of driving Lofoten where I had no prior vision of how spectacular that actually was. Or, was it the architecture of Alesund and their 148 steps vista. Norway is just one visual gift after another.

This hotel was a little confusing, as I was assigned a cabin instead of a room. Finding this cabin was not clearly explained, but eventually I did. But this was after a day's drive, so it added a level of frustration to what was an amazing area. The cabin was ok, but I didn't need a kitchenette as I was not planning on making my own meals. I would have requested a change if I had known this was the choice KimKim made. Would recommend KimKim explain the options before booking.

Since the drive from Solvaer to Reine is relatively short, I enjoyed getting off the main road and visiting as many of the towns along the way (Henningsvaer being one). Each is uniquely placed, so each offers a different view. What I also found, is this helped slow me down vs racing to Reine.

This is not a hike for the faint of heart. The steps are huge chunks of rock requiring much effort everytime. The climb is very vertical, so if you have any fear of heights, you might want to reconsider this choice. There is no railing (and there are sections where a misstep could be serious). The climb up is the climb down, so crowds going both ways can be a challenge. In retrospect, I wondered if I had made a bad choice (but the view WAS spectacular and no point in crying over spilt milk!) Although my 78 year old body had a very different point of view.

Our Bali trip was absolutely incredible, and so much of that was due to the thoughtful planning and exceptional service of our travel agent, Athaya. She created an itinerary that gave us a wonderful mix of adventure, excitement, relaxation, culture, and luxury, while also allowing us to experience the dramatically different regions and topography of Bali. Every part of the trip felt intentional, and we came away feeling like we had truly experienced the island rather than simply visited it.

One of the absolute highlights was the team Athaya arranged for us. Our driver, Sang, was amazing. Anyone who has experienced Bali traffic knows that getting around the island is an adventure in itself, but Sang maneuvered through it like an expert! We always felt completely safe and comfortable with him, and his skill behind the wheel was truly impressive.

And then there was our wonderful guide, Mr. Oki. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was incredibly kind, patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best possible experience. He taught us about Balinese customs, traditions, and culture in a way that made everything we were seeing so much more meaningful. He stood in lines to get our admission tickets, handled all the little details so we didn’t have to think about them, and was always looking for ways to make our day easier. He even made sure to take pictures of us throughout our adventures, which means we now have wonderful photographs of our amazing trip.

What impressed me most about the entire trip was the balance. We had exciting adventures, peaceful moments, beautiful accommodations, cultural experiences, and opportunities to see completely different sides of Bali. Each region felt like a new experience, and the itinerary flowed beautifully without ever feeling repetitive.

But perhaps the best example of Athaya’s level of service came when something happened that wasn’t even part of the trip she had planned. Our onward travel arrangements unexpectedly fell through, leaving us in Bali with nowhere to stay and no transportation arranged. Athaya immediately came to our rescue. Within minutes, she had found us a driver and secured a hotel so that we weren’t stranded. There was no hesitation—she simply stepped in and took care of us when we needed help. That kind of responsiveness and genuine concern for her clients is something you don’t forget.

This was the kind of trip that makes you realize how much difference an exceptional travel planner can make. Athaya didn’t simply arrange hotels, transportation, and activities—she created an experience, surrounded us with wonderful people, and made us feel cared for from beginning to end. And when the unexpected happened, she was there for us then, too.

We left Bali with incredible memories, a much deeper appreciation for the island and its culture, and enormous gratitude for Athaya, Sang, and Mr. Oki. They each played a special part in making this an unforgettable experience.

I would recommend Athaya without hesitation to anyone planning a trip to Bali. She is the person you want planning your vacation—and, perhaps even more importantly, the person you want in your corner when your plans don’t go according to plan.

Canyoning was hands-down one of the most exciting and memorable experiences of our entire trip to Bali! The guides were absolutely fantastic. They were knowledgeable, professional, and extremely safety-conscious, which made us feel completely comfortable even when we were doing something that pushed us outside our comfort zones. They explained everything clearly, told us exactly what to expect, and made sure we knew what to do before every jump, rappel, and challenging section of the canyon. We always felt like we were in very capable hands, which allowed us to relax and actually enjoy the adventure. And then there was one particular guide who was absolutely hilarious. He honestly made the experience! He kept us laughing throughout the entire excursion and somehow managed to make even the more intimidating moments fun. His personality, humor, and enthusiasm turned what was already an incredible adventure into one of those experiences we’ll be talking about for years. The scenery was spectacular, the adventure was exhilarating, and the guides were exceptional. It was the perfect combination of adrenaline, natural beauty, and just plain fun. If you’re considering canyoning in Bali, DO IT! It was one of our favorite experiences of the entire trip, and we would recommend it without hesitation.

Hannie did such a great job planning our tours in Korea and picked the best guides and drivers for our family. She was also always available whenever we had questions, both before and during our trip, which we really appreciated.

For our guided day in Busan, our guide was Ms. Son Eunjeong, and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so good with our kids and made the day fun and interesting for everyone. We explored the market, visited Gamcheon Culture Village, rode the beach train, and learned so much about the history of Busan. She knew all the best photo spots and took lots of family pictures for us throughout the day, which we really appreciated. She also recommended some great ice cream that the kids loved. At the market, she even helped my husband find a pair of shoes he was looking for.

Our driver in Busan was wonderful too. She was a very safe and careful driver, and we really appreciated that she had a car seat ready for our child. We felt very comfortable with her driving us around all day.

In Seoul, Hannie booked a food tour for us with Jay, who was also fantastic. He was flexible, great with the kids, and had so many good recommendations. Our kids still talk about the donuts he got for them and the dried strawberries we found at the market! He even arranged a stop at an art museum for our kids, which was such a thoughtful addition to the day.

We really appreciated how well Hannie matched us with guides and drivers who understood what works for a family traveling with kids. Everything felt personal and well planned, and knowing Hannie was always available if we needed anything made the trip that much easier. We had a great experience in both Busan and Seoul and would definitely recommend her.

Hi Meghan and Matt,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a beautiful, detailed review. It genuinely made my day! I've read it more than once, and I keep smiling picturing your family's day with Eunjeong and Jay.

My team and I are beyond happy to know you had such a wonderful experience across Seoul and Busan, and that what left the strongest, most lasting impression on you were the people of South Korea. That's exactly what we hope every family feels — that the trip becomes less about the itinerary and more about the people who made it special. Hearing about the beach train, the market adventures, the ice cream, the donuts and dried strawberries, and even that impromptu shoe hunt with your husband made us smile so much.

I'll admit, there were a few hiccups along the way that honestly had me worried we hadn't fully lived up to what your family deserved. So it means the world to me that you were gracious and kind enough to still recommend us despite that. It's a real gift, and I don't take it for granted.

Thank you again for trusting us with your family's trip, and for the care you put into sharing your experience. We would be so happy to welcome you back to Korea again soon — please know we'll be here whenever you're ready for the next adventure.

With gratitude,
Hannie
