Mery, our kikkim specialist and Melagros, our local coordinator, were amazing. Every detail was well-managed, dates were coordinated and doubled checked, pricing was clear and fair, and there was ongoing communication throughout our adventures in Argentina. Our local guide in Buenos Aires, Natalie, was superb. She loves her city, and it shines through at every site. Natalie not only pointed out numerous sites on our 4 hour tour but explained the history, architecture, origin, and neighborhood of every location. Lots of opportunities for dialogue, questions, and experiences were provided. The time flew by and really helped to familiarize us with this beautiful city. Additionally, Natalie, provided numerous recommendations for restaurants, museums, and shopping opportunities to visit later.

Our driver, Michelle, was incredibly competent. She navigated the city as an expert, getting us safely to each location, slowing past 'drive-by' sites, and accommodating quick nearby 'add-on' sites.
Equally complicated was our adventures at Iguazu Falls on the Argentina and Brazil sides. Our guides were very knowledgeable of the falls and rainforest, and gave us lots of time explore and take photos. We did a boat trip to the falls, which was an adrenaline rush, and an authentic Brazilian lunch were unexpected additions that were incredible.
What an incredible team and completely enjoyable experience!

They were accommodating, attentive, responsive, and overall, provided excellent customer service. The guides and drivers that they provided were also exceptional, kind and knowledgeable. Also, the accommodations (villas) offered were very comfortable and offered an environment of tranquility, comfort, cleanliness and serenity. The recommendations from coffee spots, spas, restaurants and shopping were also wonderful. I will definitely use them again. Brenda

Our trip to Mexico City and Oaxaca was terrific. Such an interesting itinerary! And all of our guides were so professional and flexible. If we needed extra time somewhere we could do that. Other times if we all agreed to switch up our itinerary we could. It. It was just a matter of another place to visit being better for us. Everyone’s attitude could not have been more positive. Our stay at Pug Seal in Oaxaca was magical. The whole ambience of the hotel is so relaxing and beautiful. The service is top notch. Smiles all around on the staff. That makes anyone’s stay so much more fun. Also, the breakfast there is quite good. You can have delicious unusual Mexican dishes or you can order the classic eggs and toast. They accommodate you and are pleased to do it.
Our opinion of our stay at Casa Decu in Mexico City is mixed. The neighborhood is perfect. Close to restaurants and lots of other things you might want to see or need, yet quiet and comfortable at night. Our room had the added attraction of being huge. We actually had a small living room and small kitchenette. The extra space came in handy as my husband was sick and was able to sleep in the living room on the comfy sofa. The downside was that is was quite dark and you had to walk four flight of stairs to get to breakfast, which was a bit of a disappointment. Really more of a continental breakfast. Not really worth four flights of stairs. The terrace setting is lovely though.
All in all, KimKim gets a 90% from us. We hope to use you again.

I planned my trip to Norway wanting to see the Northern Lights. Working with kimkim, I found it the easiest way to not only go over my ideas, but have ideas that I wouldn't have any thought of. I started my trip in Oslo and was able to experience the last Christmas Market of my Christmas Market hopping I had done. The hotel I stayed out was perfectly situated and made it very easy to walk to the train station, and the park where the Market was held, when I left the next day to head towards Bergen. When I was planning my trip, I thought I was going to just take the train directly to Bergen; however, with the advice of kimkim I actually stayed a night Flam. To make sure the night wasn't boring, they arranged for me to go on a hike in the mountains. It turns out, I was the only one who signed up for the hike. My guide, Bjorn, still took me out for the hike. It was definitely worth the stop in Flam to go on the hike and see the fjord. Bjorn was so knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the mountain and you could tell he really respected the Norwegian way of life when it comes to outdoor adventures and respecting the land and personal property. After my night in Flam, I headed on the train towards Bergen. That is where there were problems. It turns out when we arrived in Bergen, someone had taken my luggage! I waited at the train station, with their luggage, for over 3.5 hours to see if they would notice and be able come back to the train station. If this isn't a perfect reason to have a luggage tracker when else would be the perfect reason. Because I was in the train station for so long, I didn't get to go out and see Bergen at night. I then woke up the next day to find out my flight to Tromso was cancelled and I was rebooked on a flight that leaves 2 hours earlier. It was a scramble, but I got there. My time in Tromso was great. Overall, my trip was very good and the planning time put in by everyone made it a memorable experience.

Bjorn was an amazing guide and definitely enjoyed it. As it ended up being just us--definitely appreciated that they didn't cancel because not enough people signed up--it was more special. When we went to the bridge to overlook the fjord, there was no one on the bridge, so Bjorn could take lots of pictures of me, which was nice. During the hike, Bjorn pointed out flora that was typical in the area and at the top, we stopped for some hot berry juice and Norway's version of a Kit Kat bar. We had a wonderful discussion during the hike and even though it wasn't a snowshoe one, I had a good time.

The Peninsula Tokyo

The location is of course AMAZING, the staff as lovely as could be. I can’t believe I’m writing this about the Peninsular Tokyo, but its feeling a little…tired? Certainly, when compared to Tokyo Station Hotel. The rooms are a bit worn, and I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a room with a DVD player and a fax machine, ha! Out toilet plumbing leaked, the room was a bit in need of some love, but still, we were comfortable – it was a loud hotel though, with very present traffic noise. It didn’t bother Kathy and me, but it might some guests. But the location served us well, and the room was comfortable and we slept like babies.

The beds were comfy, the room was warm, and the food at the temple was exquisite – so beautifully prepared. The temple services were so honouring to attend, and really moving for Kathy and I. We had a dense flawless and unforgettable joyful trip, organized to perfection and to the second in 17 days.
I believe Io read my mind when she organized the trip. I gave her few input about what we like and what we dislike and she created a perfect journey that surpassed by far our great expectations adding precious nuances that only locals could! We never liked to travel on organized plans, but KimKim made us change our mind forever. It was a 17 days trip filled up with excitement, beauty, nature, archeology.... couldn't ask for more!
We loved the luxury busses of Cruz del Sur that brought us to Paracas, Nazca and Arequipa, but the Avalos bus tour from Puno to Cuzco was a real surprise, when the super knowledgeable guide, Christian, made us discovering Wonders we didn't know existed.
The best highlight of the trip has been the rural hotel run by Chocolate Family in Coporaque, Colca Cañon! I wish we could have stayed there longer, learning by Rosio all the local knowledge on customs, plants, archeology, farming... Staying in strict contact with locals is the best.
All the tours and experience were guided by excellent guides. My favorite guides were Marco in Nazca, Brian on the bus tour from Arequipa to Colca Canyon, and Octavio on Titicaca Lake helped and instructed us in many ways to avoid altitude sickness. The hotels in Nazca, Arequipa, Coporaque, Cuzco, and OllantayTambo were splendid, spotless clean, adorable thoughtful staff trained to please and very beautiful structures and environment, some gardens perfect for birdwatching. Unfortunately the hotel in Paracas , though was in a perfect location to avoid the noise of the movida and had a very good bed, it had a disgusting dirty, stinky bathroom. Moreover in the hotel we stayed in Puno, the shower didn't work properly, the toilet got clogged and they couldn't change our room.
These last two were the only two exception to the perfection in the entire journey.

I had arranged out 4 days in Khao Yai NP and they were outstanding. MooSi Yard Hometel was one of our favorite lodgings…just for your info. In contrast Kaeng Krachan NP was our least favorite adventure. Although it is the biggest NP in the country, it is the least developed. We drove 1.5 hrs to enter the park and then transferred to the guide’s truck which had a cracked windshield,, wasn’t clean, and the park guide spoke no English. We had expected to see birds and hike, but ended up driving on terrible, 4 wheel drive roads and taking a 45 min walk on the full day excursion. It was very disappointing and not an activity I’d recommend.
The China Town food tasting experience also not as expected. While our guide was great, the crowds were crushing in size.
All other activities were pretty much as expected.
Outstanding activities included the Elephant experience, Vespa Tour of Chiang Mai, cave visit and hiking out of Chiang Mai. The Vespa Tour guys have a really organized, friendly and fun activity.
Overall a good trip.

We had been staying in small boutique hotels for the most part so to come back to a giant resort was a little shocking. But the breakfast buffet was excellent. The service was good for the most part. It took about 45 minutes for us to check in for some reason which was frustrating. The location right on the beach in front of a nice surf break was fun for our family to surf on. And the convenience of being so close and able to go back and forth to the hotel as needed was great. The only surprise we had was that there was a Sri Lankan full moon holiday during our stay so the hotel didn't serve alcohol that day. These are monthly holidays. That would have been helpful information to disclose when we booked the hotel so we could be made aware ahead of time. Otherwise the resort was lovely.

This was one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The location was amazing being in a national park and having animals roaming around the property. But also the service of everyone from the pool to the restuanrat was second to none. We celebrated a birthday and New Year's while there and the staff made it incredibly special. We had some confusion around our safari being booked seperate from the hotel's offered safari and were concerned about leaving for hours without having any breakfast. The hotel provided us with complimentary breakfast snacks to take on the safari so that our kids wouldn't be hungry for 4 hours. They continually went above and beyond to make our stay there very special. Our family all agreed that of the 6 hotels we stayed in during our trip to Sri Lanka, this was by far the best one.

The house was very clean and modern. The views of Ella were incredible. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The only issue we had were the number of bugs in the house. Because all of the sheets were white, it was really easy to see the bugs. It was a small price to pay for the gorgeous views. My only regret is that we didn't have more there.

The steps to the top are no joke! We were definitely winded when we got there, but to see a temple carved into the side of a rock was an impressive site. The temple is actually a series of rooms with different purposes in Buddha statues throughout. It was interesting to observe how this temple has lasted for centuries and been so well maintained. And this site was easy to see on the same day as Sigiriya Rock.

Our guide was not good at all. He didn’t want to be there and made every effort to do as little as possible. He gave us very little information about the site and left us to explore mostly on our own. We didn’t get a chance to do this train ride because the train service was disrupted due to the recent typhoon that affected the area. Instead, we did a bike ride and hike to the scenic nine arch Bridge. The bike ride was terrible! It was mostly uphill and our family, while mostly in good shape, all struggled to make it to the top. Our guide, as friendly and accommodating as he was. Rode a scooter, so didn’t have the same issues getting up the hill! He was nice enough to have his nephew switch with our youngest son when he wasn’t able to complete the bike ride. So our son was able to ride on the back of the scooter with him. Once we got to the spot where we could start the hike it was then a 25 minute walk over to the bridge. The bridge was beautiful, but also very crowded. Lots of tourists visiting and taking photos. Definitely a fun and memorable place to take photos and visit while in Sri Lanka. I would avoid the bike ride in the future. I do think we wouldn’t have been able to see the bridge the same way if we were on the train so walking over to it was the better way to get the full experience and take our time.

The morning safari was fine. There are so many Safari trucks all heading into the park to get in line as soon as it opens. You spend an hour just getting tickets and then getting into line to wait for the park to open. I wish I had known that ahead of time. We saw plenty of animals roaming around, but didn’t see any elephants or leopards unfortunately, we tried diligently to find a leopard for about an hour, but it was elusive. It was a fun tour, but would’ve been better if we were able to see you more animals. Because it had rained the night before many of the animals weren’t out at their normal watering holes because they had plenty of water already.

The activities she suggested were absolutely on point—especially the jet boat experience, the glow worms, and the Māori cultural experience. These were things we probably wouldn’t have booked on our own, and they ended up being some of the highlights of our trip.

She handled all of our accommodation bookings. Overall, the hotels were great. While we had a minor issue with the elevator at the hotel in Taupō, our stays in Napier and the final hotel in Auckland were excellent choices and very comfortable.

We also appreciated that she suggested additional activities we could do on our own if we had the time and energy, provided helpful restaurant recommendations, and made sure we were well informed about immigration steps before traveling. When we needed medical advice while in New Zealand, she was quick to offer helpful guidance as well.

Overall, she was thoughtful, responsive, and incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. We felt well taken care of and would highly recommend her.

Stephen was an amazing guide with extensive knowledge of New Zealand’s flora and fauna. My husband and I weren’t sure what to expect going into the experience, but we ended up having a fantastic time. We learned about the silver fern, saw New Zealand possums (much cuter than the ones in the U.S.!), and even learned about the different types of torches (flashlights) used during night walks. We were able to get very close to the glow worms, and Stephen also pointed out many fascinating plants and creatures along the way, including the kawakawa tree, the mānuka tree, the wētā, and, of course, the iconic silver fern. To top it all off, at the end of the walk he treated us to hot cocoa and biscuits, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch and answered all of our questions. If you’re looking for an easy trek and have an interest in New Zealand nature, this is definitely the activity for you.

We recently traveled to Finland and Estonia during the winter from USA. We typically plan trips and travel on our own when we leave the states. Because the weather can be unpredictable in Northern Finland in January, I decided to use an agent to help us with this trip. After doing research, we decided to go with Alise from KimKim as her initial itinerary was more in line with what we were looking for. After three iterations, she got the itinerary to fulfill every one of our wishes and within budget. She made the entire process very easy, communication was timely and clear, and she worked with me to plan an itinerary that was exactly what my family and I wanted to do. She seemlessly booked hotels, tranfers, private walking tours, and excursions. Every transport she arranged was punctual and friendly. The day trips were coordinated through small group companies - we always felt as if we were traveling in style - it matched what we paid for, and we were never disappointed. If you plan to do Snowmobiles, make sure you are a small group tour. We went out with 4 snowmobiles only. We passed some trips that had endless lines of snowmobiles, which I assume would have been far less fun and personable. If you do Huskies or Reindeer, be sure to go to a farm (don't do it at Santa Village, for ex.). The experience is much more personal, you will be supporting local farmers/kennels, and get a more one on one experience. We also did the ice floating which was surreal - like being a marshmallow on a water bed! Be sure to follow up if anything is included with your hotel. For ex., we stayed at the Hobo Hotel in Helsinki and it included tickets to Allas Sauna and Pools. The igloo hotel we stayed in included dinner and breakfast. Tell Alise what you are looking for (hotel in center of town, hotel with family suite, hotel in forest, whatever) and she will find options for you. It was fun to meet her when we arrived in Helsinki - definitely appreciate all she did to create a seemless and memorable trip to the Arctic.

It is about 18min walk to town, which was too far in the -20 degree weather so we had to Uber to town. The lobby/bar/restaurant in the hotel closes at 10pm, so if you come home after an evening excursion, there is nowhere to get a snack or drink. Also, one of the nights we were there, the fire alarm went off around 12am. There is NO staff at the hotel after 10pm, so all of us guests were scurrying to figure out what to do and how to handle contacting the fire department. Overnight Train

The overnight train was certainly an experience we won't forget. The cabins are TINY. If you have larger luggage, this might not be the trip for you. We had a private bathroom, which I would recommend. Although you wouldn't want to shower, it was key having a private toilet. Another note - if you are elderly, or plan to have a lot and/or heavy luggage, you might consider another way to get up north. If you stay on the second story, you have lug your bags up a few sets of very tight stairs.

The hotel is in a 500 year old building but is immaculately maintained. Rooms were charming and comfortable and clean. The only negative is that there are lots of stairs and no elevator - so if you are elderly or have a lot of heavy luggage, I would not recommend this hotel. Otherwise it is a perfect location, full of character and charm, centrally located in old town - a very memorable stay.

Loved this hotel. Very modern and clean. Location is fantastic - and Fazer is right across the way (good and bad if you know what I mean). The family room was plenty big for the four of us. And it comes with day tickets to Allas Pools and Sauna. Great place to stay in the center of Helsinki.

Food & Beer Tasting Tour
Food & Beer Tasting Tour
Helsinki

Our guide was super friendly, energetic, and truly wanted to enrich our understanding of the finnish culture. We really enjoyed spending time with him. The food tour was a bit lacking - we started at the market and had a sample of traditional Finnish food (raw salmon, smoked reindeer, and shrimp salad). But that was it - he showed us stuff around the market and explained the food but we never got to try any of it which was disappointing. He then took us to a restaurant where we ordered from the menu, then we went to Fazer and got a bag of chocolates. I wish we had done more tasting, particularly in the market - and especially at Fazer. But - the guide was amazingly smart and personable. Loved spending the time with him and hearing his perspective as he was not a native finnish person. We ended the tour with a wine tasting - that saved this experience. He took us to a local wine shop and the owner introduced us to three european wines from very small wineries. Overall, it would have better to do a true tasting (small bits here and there of all things Finland, rather than stop in a restaurant to order a meal).

We loved going to the farm to learn about Reindeer and reindeer farming. This experience was very different for us as we come from the states and do not have reindeer here. The guide was smart and caring - although we wished we had done some faster sledding, it was super peaceful going through the forest on a reindeer driven sled. The landscape was breathtaking, the sounds of the reindeer walking was relaxing, it was definitely very calm and peaceful. And of course the day we did this, it was like -35 degrees - so it was COLD. Layer up, and when you think you have enough layers, add one more - because man oh man it was COLD.

Of all the experiences we had in Lapland, this was our family's favorite. It was fast and fun, cold, breathtaking, and stunning. The dogs were so friendly - the landscape was crazy memorable. The guides and staff were so knowledgeable. We loved everything about this trip. But it is COLD - like bitingly cold, so bundle up - and when you think you are done, add another layer! We did an earlier excursion and got to see the sun rise above the frozen lake - highly recommend trying to catch that.

We did this trip since our kids have never been to a snow hotel before. It was a fun day trip but not anything you would regret missing if you don't have the time. The hotel is fun to explore - and if you have little ones (we don't) they would have a lot of fun running around this place.

We used Wild About Lapland for this excursion and I am sooooo glad we did. They offer small group experiences - our tour went out with just 4 snowmobiles (unlike others we passed with like 20 or more). Because it was a small group, we could go faster and longer. When we stopped to grill sausages and have cocoa, we could spend time chatting and telling stories with the guide and other travelers. Very fun - but layer up because it's coooollllddd out there!

Camila, our main organizer, deserves special recognition. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and genuine care shaped the entire experience. Every transfer, tour, and connection felt effortless because she was always one step ahead. You could feel how much pride she takes in showcasing her country, and it made all the difference. She was also very patient and worked hard to get the itinerary just right.

We were also fortunate to have wonderful local guides throughout the trip. Each one brought their own personality, expertise, and passion for Chile’s landscapes, culture, and history. Whether we were exploring cities, tasting incredible food and wine, or taking in the natural scenery, our guides made every moment richer and more meaningful. Shout out to Ignacio and Jennifer who showed us around Santiago and out to the coast, Marco who spent the day with us at the geysers and desert and has a great passion for the country and photography, and every other tour was great! We appreciated and genuinely enjoyed our time with each guide. There's no part of the trip we wouldn't recommend!

It's a lot to pack in 11 days, but Camila made it possible!

Amazing scenery around San Pedro de Atacama, in particular the high elevation drive to and visit of the Tatio Geysers with guide Diego, and the Valley of the Moon hike. We saw many vicunas and flamingos!
In the Lake District town of Puerto Varas our stay at Casa Molino was amazing, with an other worldly view of Vulcan Orsono across Lago Llanquihue, with the full moon rising. Our guide there Patricio was very knowledgable on our beautiful tours of Parque Nacional Vicente Perez Rosales and of Isla Grande de Chiloe.
The final destination in our travels to Patagonia's Parque Nacional Torres del Paine offered amazing natural scenery. Staying in/near the park at Hotel Lago Grey Hotel and Los Torres Patagonia was worth it, allowing us to experience the evenings and mornings in the park. The boat tour on Lago Gray to the glaciers was beautiful. And our ultimate experience, the all day hike to the the spectacular Torres Mirador was a life experience - very challenging and totally worth it. Our Patagonia driver Daniel and guide Leo were both excellent in informing us about the history, culture and environment of Patagonia and answering our many questions.
Overall our trip to Chile was well organized by Kimkim, with seamless transport between airports, hotels and tours which allowed us to concentrate on enjoying our holiday and the amazing scenery of Chlie.

Hotel Review
Hotel Casa Molino

We really enjoyed Casa Molino, one of nicer hotels at which we have stayed. The hotel is a grand house in the countryside and right on Lago Llanquihue, with a view across to Vulcan Orsono that is unreal. We had a 2nd floor very comfortable room with huge windows facing that amazing view. The grounds and the house are immaculately kept and beautifully designed, with peaceful indoor and outdoor areas to relax and take in the view. The property has a nice short garden walk down to the lakeshore to its small beach, very nice. While staying at Casa Molino we had all our dinners there, the food and service was some of the best we had during our travels in Chile.

Authenticity & Character
This seems to be a grand country house that was converted to a botique hotel. The design of the house and the interiors is nice, warm, serene and inviting to just relax and take in the view. The grounds area also beautiful and well kept and a beautiful backdrop to the lake and house.
Location
Right on the lake and the view of Vulcan Orsono is world class. The hotel is in a rural location away from Puerto Varas which I consider a plus - quiet, peaceful and relaxing. There are country roads around that look interesting for walks and biking, we did not have time to try this.
