This was the first time we used KimKim for a family trip to Portugal. We worked with Emily to plan a trip that would work for everyone. Emily was very patience as we changed the plan a few times. She was very knowledgeable and advised activities based on our interests. There was an incident from a local vendor during the trip but we were able to contact KimKim and they addressed it timely to our satisfaction. Overall, it was a great trip. We will definitely use KimKim again for our future trips.

Private Fish Market Visit with Seafood Lunch

This was our favorite activity of the trip! We started the day with a little car trouble but our guide used her personal car to take us on the trip so we don't get stuck in traffic. The fishing village was where she grew up so the tour was very intimate. We had an amazing seafood lunch in the local market. Everything was fresh and delicious! We were able to pick out our own fish from the market and the restaurant grilled it for us. We enjoyed this experience very much!

It was one of our favorite days seeing Obidoas and Nazare on our way to Porto. Obidos was a charming medieval village and worth a stop to see. Nazare was a little busier and a surfing city so it was nice to see but we didn't spend much time there. Our driver was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the areas.

Private Sintra & Cascais Day Trip with Pena Palace & Quinta da Regaleira Visit

The private trip to Sintra & Cascais Day trip was fabulous. We were able to bypass the long line and get in to the park as soon as we get there. It made the visit more enjoyable. Pena Palace was amazing and worth the visit. Our local guide, Louis, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We enjoyed his company and learned much about Portugal culture and history from this trip.

Thank you, Noga, for planning a wonderful trip! The app itinerary was well planned out, and worked out well. A few times the cars GPS couldn’t find our destination, so we used the link in your app with Google Maps and found our way. We had a little trouble with the Parka app at the airport, but otherwise had no problems parking. It might be helpful to note that the Blue car rental office is behind the hotel. Your Zoom meeting pre-trip was helpful to take care of any last minute questions and concerns.

Zurich:
Hotel Central Plaza was a great choice. It was not only well-appointed, but it was the perfect location. Access to the amazing Hauptbahnhof made it extra fun.
Vanessa was an excellent guide. We wish we had booked more time - it was that good.
The suggestions were very helpful - museums etc. helped on a rainy day.

Trains: We cannot say enough about the itinerary planning, timing, and guidance on connections. We LOVED them..

Colmar: Great choice for our Alsace stop.
Hotel Turenne was lovely, new, fresh, great service, and very well located.
Louie, our Epicurean guide was excellent, friendly, and very attentive. The amount of cycling (15 miles) was perfect for us, and itinerary was well curated.

Lucerne: (not feedback for KimKim) My nostalgic choice of a key stop. In retrospect, now knowing all of the Alps we were going to experience - would now probably skip Lucerne.
Hotel Wilden Mann was a great location, and in retrospect was very well-managed for an ancient and historic building.
The guide Sarjon (sp?) for our tour was knowledgable, but very soft-spoken, did not make sure that we could both hear, and did not volunteer information while walking from information point to point. He would answer question in a low conversational way with Maria, and I could not hear at all. It was a difficult, and bad experience.

Locarno: The trip to Locarno was beautiful, and a lovely experience on its own.
Hotel Lago Maggiore was perhaps the best hotel throughout our trip. Location was superb; room and balcony fresh, spacious and beautiful. Breakfast service was the best. Service people excellent.
Rafaella, our guide was phenomenal. Could have spent the entire day with her. Great suggestions as well.
Valentine's suggestions for restaurants and hikes etc. were very helpful.

Zermatt: Wonderful trip through the Centovalli to Domodossola and on to Zermatt - based on Rafaella's suggestion.
Hotel Julen was a cute hotel, nice view, AC, and an amazing restaurant, the Schaferstube. The staff was unfriendly, and their breakfast service staff was uneven, from OK to terrible.
Valentine's suggestions for other activities were as always excellent.
We enjoyed all of our time in Zermatt, and were literally sad to leave so soon.

Montreux:
Hotel Golf Rene Cape was a beautiful location with spectacular views, access to the promenade, and transportation. The staff was lovely, the service excellent, but the accommodations were sub-par, especially the bathroom. It was also hot due to no air conditioning. We realized that our late change from Glion to Montreux put Valentine in a difficult situation trying to find us a hotel in town - and she did well considering.
E-Bike tour in the Lavaux vineyards: Our guide Yves was just terrific. He was super-knowledgeable. He rode a bit ahead of us, not realizing that when we get on bikes, we do not want an easy ride. We are seeking not only a tour, but a good work-out as well - and he never quite "read the room" on that. So, we didn't feel connected in a way that we could carry on a conversation, and ask questions while pedaling. When we stopped, he inundated us (almost overloaded) with amazing geological, agricultural, and historical information. (We would rather have too much, than not enough.) We were a bit surprised that the entire riding portion of the tour was only 56 minutes total. We expected 2-3 hours, like the Alsace tour. The vineyards and the visit to Chapuis vineyard was magical, and tasty. We realized after that we could have contracted Yves for as long as we wanted. That perhaps should be a question to be asked prior to booking.
We so wanted to spend more time on bikes that the next day we traveled to Chatel St Denis to rent bikes from Alexandre at E-Bike Plaisir, (who Yves contracts with). He provided us a custom itinerary based on our request for 40+ Km, and we had a delightful afternoon that took us through farm country, Mt Pellerin, the Lavaux vineyards etc. We got our fix.
Loved our time in Montreux - the people were friendly and welcoming, the Freddy Mercury Days vibe was fun. It lived up the its reputation as the Swiss Riviera.

Grindelwald: The Golden Pass trip was a lovely experience. We had no idea what to expect in Grindelwald, but it was awe inspiring, in the spectacle, the infrastructure, the options, everything.
Sunstar Hotel: Crazy beautiful view, modern, fresh, well-appointed. Only down-side was dealing with the multitudes of bus tours pouring in, and constant navigating through crowds. The room was warm, again no air conditioning - and buggy. We had to get bug spray to handle it. No screens as always.
The bike tour out of Interlaken was an early morning - but the tour was excellent, actually amazing - and Marceau our guide was delightful and knowledgeable.
Valentine's suggestion to change from Wengen to Grindelwald was a great decision. We visited Wengen, and it was a bit too sleepy for us. Her Grindelwald suggestions were perfect as always.
We could have spent more time there - it was that good.

Zurich:
Central Plaza Hotel - again, would not hesitate to stay there if we return. The rooms, the staff and the breakfast service were excellent.

Car Transfers: Probably did not need the transfers from central Plaza to the Hauptbahnhof They were unnecessary.
Luggage Transfers: We hated them - then loved them. For our situation using only a carry-on suitcase and a backpack - it made it quite difficult because everything we needed for the morning rituals went in our suitcases. They were (necessarily) too early for that reason - it forced 5:30 wake-up - not ideal when on vacation. That's when we hated them. BUT, when navigating stairs at the train stations and making connections - we loved them, because even a carry-on fully-packed suitcase is heavy - and we were able to avoid any potential for a fall or injury amidst the throngs of people dragging their huge bags down and up flights of stairs. Would we do it again? Yes - just for the safety factor at our ages.

We loved having lovingly pre-planned excursions (bike trips, tours) as well as days when we could choose what to do. On those days Valentine gave us detailed and amazing suggestions, most of which we happily did!

Valentine was available to us day and night 7 days a week during this trip, answering questions and helping us navigate any uncertain parts. We've never had a travel company provide such on-the-ground assistance at a moment's notice. Valentine gave her heart and soul to us and shared her knowledge of this beautiful area so generously. We are already recommending her and KimKim without reservation to our friends!

Everything was flawless from car rental, hotels, guided tours & private transportation! This service took all of the stress of planning local details off our plate. The communication within the app made the day to day travel plans effortless! Thank you

Gorgeous! Worth seeing for sure. Tour aspect was not particularly good. Staff were a bit late openning so we all entered together with everyone needing to get booties and check packpacks. We were told we were told we had 40 minutes to view the house, which for us, since we didn't push to the front meant closer to 30. There was no audio tour and guides seemed to be stationed not to provide information but to be sure we all moved along, didn't take pictures until the prescribed time, and didn't touch anything. Staff were not welcoming. It felt like we were gifted with the opportunity and should be thankful we had any entrance at all. Thankfully, we know quite a bit about Art Nouveau and had seen the outside a couple days before with our Art Nouveau guide so she had given us a great deal of history and information.

Brussels - Explore Brussels' Museums with the Brussels Card (including public transport)

Having the Brussels card worked out well. We started at the Comic Museum which was in a cool Victor Horta building, and we enjoyed it more than we expected. We went to the BOZAR next but there were no current exhibits. Thankfully, the Magritte Museum is very close by so we headed there. It was very enjoyable. We enjoyed the Museum of Instruments as well. The trek to the Park Cinquantenaire was a bit long but worth it. And we figured out the metro back to the hotel since it was included on the card. Quite convenient.

Everything was excellent from start to finish. Jimena and the rest of the team planned our trip down to every small detail. From airport pickups, arranging breakfast/lunch boxes while travelling and taking us to the excursions. The guides and drivers were punctual, knowledgeable and willing to adapt pace to the day. Planning a trip for six people with different interests and expectations is no small task, yet you somehow turned it all into one seamless and beautiful adventure. We are so grateful for the care, thought, and attention that went into every part of this experience.

This was such a great way to experience Rome, especially when you only have a short amount of time. Our guide, Marco, was so sweet, knowledgeable, and made the experience really enjoyable. He showed us so many of Rome’s highlights and gave us a wonderful introduction to the city. This was such a special way to end our holiday in Italy. Our guide, Deborah, had an incredible wealth of knowledge, and the tour was extraordinarily rich in history, art, and detail. There was honestly so much to take in that at times we felt we could barely absorb everything she was sharing, especially at the end of such a full journey, but we were in complete awe. Our only disappointment was that we hadn’t realized we should arrive earlier if we wanted time to visit the Sistine Chapel, so unfortunately we missed that experience. We wish we had known in advance. That said, the tour itself was absolutely spectacular. Seeing the Vatican in the evening made it feel even more special, and Deborah made the experience truly memorable. A beautiful and unforgettable way to end our Italian adventure.

This was truly one of our favorite days of the entire trip. Spending time with the family and being welcomed into their world made the experience feel incredibly personal and special. Learning to make authentic pasta together was so much fun and something we will always remember. The food, wine, setting, and hospitality were all wonderful, but it was the warmth of the people that made the day unforgettable. Our driver was also exceptional. Day visit to Siena and San Gimignano - guide in Siena included

This was an incredible and very full day. Our guide in Siena was simply remarkable, and her knowledge was extraordinary. The winery lunch was another wonderful highlight and made the day even more special. There was so much to see, learn, and experience that we only wished we had more time. If our schedule had allowed, two days would have been even better so we could slow down and really soak it all in. Our driver was also incredibly kind and accommodating when one of our friends became ill, which we appreciated more than we can say. A truly memorable experience.

One of the highlights of our trip! The boat tour to Capri was absolutely beautiful and such a special experience for the six of us. The scenery was breathtaking, the day felt relaxed and personal, and our captain and crew were wonderful. Truly unforgettable and absolutely five stars.

Ivan did a fantastic job of listening to me and selecting activities that were fun and exciting. The drivers were professional, safe, operated clean vehicles, knowledgeable and always prompt. The tour guides (biking, kayaking, winery, guided walks) were very accommodating, service oriented, knowledgeable and comfortable to be with. The extras provided were always a nice surprise. The breakfasts in each hotel was delicious and had a huge selection to choose from. My first complaint is that the hotel in Korcula was a little warm and a little uncomfortable to sleep. I also heard another man complaining about this at the front desk. I also believe the towels were older and need to be replaced. I plan to look at a trip to Thailand for 8 people in November 2027 and hope to have the same great service that Ivan provided.

It was a pleasure to work with Jook and the kimkim team. Because of their detailed planning, our trip went seamlessly. From airport pick up to Tours, boutique, making class, scuba diving, sunrise on Mount Batur, our drivers were there to pick us up and bring us back. We felt safe the entire time. Bali is not easy to navigate and the streets don’t have great signage and are teaching with scooters and traffic jams and so it’s always better to have a local driver. The driver Agong was pleasant, reliable, and knowledgeable about the different temples and sites that we saw.

Our trip had an interruption because of the eruption of Krakatoa while we were in Jakarta. They were able to help us with last-minute change of plans. I am very glad we used the kimkim team. We had wonderful memories and learned so much about Indonesia.

The one drawback was issues with humidity in the bedrooms and low water pressure in the showers. The hotel staff were very eager to help and remedy the situation.

This hotel had the most incredible brunch I have ever had. They had dishes of Indian, Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese, continental, American. Each breakfast was like a trip around the world. This was also a block away from a great mall that had a lot of interesting Indonesian handcrafts, a food court, and multiple restaurants. The hotel was clean and convenient. Kimkim was terrific and we just completed an outstanding trip to Norway!

I asked Anna to help put together a 3-week self-drive trip that focused on the outdoor beauty of Norway, including lots of day hikes I had read about (including others she might recommend), with accommodations that were nice & clean – and a handful of splurge stops she thought were worth it. Anna was quick to propose a trip that looked great, worked with us as we made a few tweaks (including a start in Oslo to take the cross-country rail trip before starting our self-drive – worth it!), and she recommended & incorporated a handful of private city walks and guided hikes. The process was easy, the trip was custom, the results were great.

Accommodation favorites include: The Bolder (a modern compact stand-alone cabin with a spectacular view), Fjaerland Fjordstove Hotell & Restaurant (a historic gem in a charming tiny town with a terrific restaurant), Blatind Botique Hotel (cozy luxury in a private mountain setting with excellent dining), and an unbelievable lakeside view from a Vollsnes Feiehus Stryn cabin near Loen. We also enjoyed the quirky/funky Dovregubbens Hall, and Hotel Brosundet in Alesund. And we stayed in a handful of Scandic hotels which were nice, clean, and had great breakfasts. We wanted a variety – and we were happy with the variety!

Add-on favorites include: A private city walk in Bergen, followed by a hike above the city the next day (beautiful). A private hike to a historic farm now known for wild blueberries in an idyllic setting near Fjaerland. And a floating sauna (with occasional fjord plunges!)

Hiking area favorites: Forsand, Voss, Loen, Andalsnes

One other note. Kimkim provided support during our trip – I didn’t expect to need it, but I did. During one of our drives, we arrived at what looked like an abandoned ferry terminal (we were the only ones there). I couldn’t quite make sense of the ferry terminal schedule on-line, so I reached out to Kimkim’s 24-hour number (it was Sunday), and they responded immediately --confirmed the ferry schedule, provided an alternate route if I didn’t want to wait, and asked what else they could do. I really appreciated the support.

Acropolis Hill Hotel was a great location, wonderful view, and lovely accommodations. Walking tour of Acropolis and biking tour of Athens was a perfect overview of Athens.
We loved Santorini best, Cliff Side Suites was second to none. Our room was huge, beautiful views and sunsets. Many restaurants within walking distance. Took a couple days to tour towns and relax on beaches, a good mix of activity and down time.
Naxos was lovely, Naxos Beach Resort was a great location in Naxos Town, a lot within walking distance. Full day catamaran tour was good, our day the waters were choppy with high winds, so didn’t swim as much as we would have, but a great crew, great food, it was a fun day.
All air and ferry transfers Chris organized were seamless and all drivers meeting us to move us were outstanding.

We had an incredible family trip to Ecuador. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned and showcased the country's stunning landscapes, culture, and wildlife. Some of the highlights included hand-feeding hummingbirds in Mindo, horseback riding in Cotopaxi, canyoneering in Banos and snorkeling in Galapagos. From start to finish we were extremely pleased with our customized trip to Mexico City. Hugo really listened and understoodw our needs, and we even initiated a call or two just to clarify the details. Most would categorize this as a family trip with two daughters in their twenties plus a very active Mom, Auntie, and Uncle in our sixties. We were quite happy with the strong emphasis on art, cuisine and culture so the initial Chef’s Table event was an extraordinary welcome.

Luz was our local coordinator and kept us on track the entire time. She was very responsive to any concerns, any special dietary needs, or potential issues. As such the logistics were smooth despite the notorious Mexico City traffic. We spent the most time with local guide Mony and we could *not* exhaust her vast knowledge of history, religion and especially archeology. My husband and I have traveled extensively and we would request Mony again. She is also incredibly thoughtful and accommodating — a great fit for a family trip.

One standout was the hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacan. Sailing over the tops of ancient pyramids on a beautiful morning was a hit with our entire group.

We split into two groups the final day and my husband and I enjoyed a contemporary art gallery tour with the Traveling Beetle. They did an excellent job and we purchased two pieces, not to mention enjoying the serendipity of exploring art during GAMA week.

In the end we appreciated the high quality and degree of customization — down to securing a floating boat in Xochimilco celebrating our university colors. And the Pug Seal Anatole boutique hotel in Polanco was also lovely and served the most amazing breakfasts, We had a room with an outdoor soaking tub, a wonderful break after our morning tours.

MY sister and I had the most incredible visit to this magnificent country and I could not have experienced this without the superior planning and assistance from Pedro! My visit to Portugal went above and beyond my expectations, which were already pretty high. Our itinerary was built specifically for us and it met every one of my requests and more. I could never have experienced the true closeness we received from our guides, our drivers, our hotels, the sites we visited and the knowledge of Portugal's history without the professional and caring assistance of Pedro and the people he sent to guide us and help us fulfill all our hopes & expectations. Every one the people we interacted with over our 10 days in Portugal were WONDERFUL. We became close to each one of them and they gave us a new found admiration and respect for Portugal and the cities we visited. Lisboa, Porto, and Cascais were the major cities, but we visited so much more. Our driver for most of the time there, Rui, was very special to us. His knowledge and assistance in all of our travels was amazing and we were sad to leave him, We insisted on learning proper pronunciation and all the history he could share. Ricardo was our second driver and he was wonderful, too. We asked for the same with him and learned so much. Our Historic guides were so knowledgeable! Our first one in Lisboa, Marguerite was overwhelming in her understanding of the history of this country and her manner of telling the stories were moving and beautiful. What an incredible woman ... she brought us to tears (hidden to her I hope) in the descriptions of the dictatorship and the revolution. Ana, our guide in Porto, was truly a walking encyclopedia of the country's history and Porto's history! Our heads were spinning with knowledge. Our culinary class with Chef Pedro was absolutely wonderful. We loved it!
I could go on and on about this trip, but I want to thank Pedro for the amazing job he did with my itinerary and the people he matched us with. I felt that we were so well cared for and all our needs were met in every possible way. Our hotels were beautiful, intimate, with wonderful staff in each. To say we made many friends along the way is an understatement. Knowing that each day Pedro would check in on us as well as Diana and Marisa answering any questions we may have was quite helpful and special. We knew we were in excellent hands. My sister and I have already shared much of our trip with family and friends and KimKim is truly at the top of our suggestions for any future trips.
I feel like there is so much more I want to share, but for now ... thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this a trip of a lifetime. You truly are the best in the travel industry! I must add one more important note. Along with all the culture, history, and incredible sites & food, it's not complete until I add this, "We had SO SO SO MUCH FUN!"

Knowing nothing about Croatia and having heard wonderful comments, we visited for a week following an eclipse trip to Spain. Kimkim worked with Royal Croatia Tours to organize an efficient trip over one week. We stayed in Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split and Zadar along the Adriatic Shore, with day visits to Cavtat and Sibenek. We traveled by ferry and private car. There's no train service. This region's history is fascinating, from pre-Common Era to date. Dubrovnik's Old City and Split's Roman Palace were most engrossing. The hotels were all excellent, comfortable and located close to walkable destinations. All our drivers spoke excellent English, and were personable and well informed. We had good support from Ivan and Sarah, with Royal Croatia Tours. For instance, we had a boat trip cancel due to weather. They immediately refunded that cost. Cafes and gelato shops are plentiful and Croatian wine is very good. Croatia is working hard to build up its international reputation as a visitor destination, and the hospitality of its people is obvious. If you enjoy beaches, water sports, and historic sites, Croatia is a treasure.

Our guide met us promptly and provided an informative tour of the historic parts of town and the Roman Palace. We stopped at four or five cafes to sample the good croatian wine, small bites, entree and pasta courses. Croatian meals are similar to other Mediterranean countries. In addition to the food part of the tour, we learned a great deal about the construction of the huge Roman Palace, and what many subsequent regimes have done in the area.

Our driver and guide, Doris, was a pleasure. While she was a consummate professional, she was also personable and entertaining. She accompanied us to the little beach town of Cavtat and lunch at a family farm. It was a customized visit and we enjoyed the food, tastings and venue very much.

The support that we received from start to finish was exemplary. The guidance regarding how much territory to cover and the specific sites was perfect. We were not rushed and we saw a lot. The specific site were visited were amazing. The Thorsmork jeep experience was especially good as we were able to hike in a variety of different terrains. Our guide, Carlos, was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and personable. The other outstanding location was the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. It was unlike anything I have ever seen. Our Zodiac boat ride, captained by Hurdur, was a highlight. His appearance, skill, knowledge, and engagement was perfect.

The hotels were exactly what we were looking for and met all our expectations. The breakfasts were a perfect way to start our day; with a full belly. There was a wide assortment of good food and plenty of good, strong coffee.

I'm not sure whether KimKim had any control over the weather, but that worked out very well for us too! The only rain we had was during the nights or while driving. It did not affect our outdoor plans at all. And to top it off, we were finally able to see the northern lights on our last night. Great job all around for your team. I highly recommend them to assist in your vacation planning. And knowing that they were always available if we ran into problems, was another plus.
