I'm passionate and hardworking, with a big love for everything outdoors and visiting new and exciting places. I have an incredible passion for wildlife and conservation, I believe these should go hand in hand with tourism as it is important for us to preserve nature for current and future generations. Helping people find their dream holiday experience while simultaneously helping the environment is what I strive to do.

How did you get involved in travel?

"I have always loved traveling to new places, ever since I was little, going on holiday wasn't just a way to forget about school and homework, but a way to have an adventure and experience new places to make wonderful memories. I have been a bush lover since the first time my parents took me and my sister to the Kruger National Park, but it's also nice to feel some sand between the toes at a beautiful beach along the coast. There are still so many places I want to visit, here in South Africa and abroad but for now, I'll be trying to help others have great travel experiences."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"The travel experience that stands out most for me is definitely my trip to Kruger Shalati - The Train on the Bridge, in the Kruger National Park. It is such a unique and unforgettable experience, it's truly one-of-a-kind accommodation combined with friendly and helpful staff to help with anything to make your stay as amazing as possible, and you get to have educational and great game drives along with your stay.
The Kruger National Park has always had something special about it and the Shalati - The Train on the Bridge definitely offers one with an unforgettable holiday experience!"

We really enjoyed our first trip to South Africa. Bernice was amazing to work with and super responsive throughout the entire process. The level of customer service was excellent- Bernice or her co-workers would follow up to make sure transfers were on time and that we were taken care of during our stay and even left gift packages to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a once in a lifetime experience visiting South Africa thanks to kimkim, our local specialists Bernice and Lucy, and the service providers throughout our 2-week stay! Our trip gave us so many memories. First, I must say that Bernice and Lucy were extremely responsive, helpful, and patient with us (it was our first time using kimkim and going to South Africa). They helped me plan an action-packed itinerary and make short notice adjustments during the trip when needed (be prepared for unforeseen weather, inconsistent Uber availability, or other possible surprises). We saw the most breathtaking landscapes in the Blyde River Canyon Panorama. We observed all of the big 5 safari animals and had a super spectacular team at the Singita Lebombo lodge, especially our host Andrew, guide Solomon, tracker Andrew, and server Victor. We also visited Robben Island, wandered the V&A Waterfront, and had delicious South African cuisine. The Kimkim app design sometimes made it hard to see parts of the itinerary which caused some confusion, but I plan to use kimkim again and would love to work with Bernice and Lucy for the next chance we have to travel to South Africa!

Singita Lebombo Lodge
Kruger National Park

Our visit to Singita was hands down the best part of our trip. First, the lodge was magnificent! We loved how it was set in nature, and how meticulously stocked our rooms were. Anytime we thought of something we needed like silverware or we forgot like a South African power adapter, it was right in the room, complete with robes, safari hats, insect repellent, beverages, snacks, and so much more. We wish we had taken advantage of the spa, the pool, or other activities when we weren’t on game drives, eating, sleeping, or at the gym, but there is only so much you can do while jet lagged. Second, the Safari was all you could ask for! We observed all of the big 5 safari animals (plus hippos, hyenas, kudus, impalas, eagles, turtles). Third, we had a super spectacular team, especially our host Andrew, guide Solomon, tracker Andrew, and server Victor. There was an incident where our personal luggage trolleys were detached from our checked bags by airport workers in Johannesburg and did not arrive with our luggage when we landed at Skukuza airport. Our host Andrew was always very gracious, and even made sure our luggage was tracked down, flown to Skukuza, and delivered to our room at the lodge by the next day. Our server Victor was always so gracious in satisfying all of our culinary desires. I have no idea how, within a day, he was able to recall all of our individual tastes and preferences down to the type of milk for my coffee (almond). He was always friendly when we wanted to chatter, but never too imposing when we wanted to quietly enjoy drinks during the sunset. Our guide Solomon kept us laughing while searching for the animals we wanted to see and staying within respectful distance on every single game drive. His knowledge of so much biodiversity was so impressive and gave so much respect for the expertise that a guide needs to have. Solomon also made an extra effort to keep our teenager son engaged and curious about his surroundings (while he was recovering from jet lag on his first international trip and wifi withdrawal at the same time). Our tracker Andrew was so attentive to us and informative about the broader cultural relationship of Singita to the environment and community. His passion for what he does and what it means to him personally really stood out to us. We also liked how he shared stories about how he grew up and what he thinks about life, which gave an extra special touch to our game drives. We absolutely loved our stay at Singita and wish we had even more time!
