Anita Matijasevic

I am passionate about travels, positive and enthusiastic people and exploring new places off the beaten path. Always ready for new life adventures and exciting experiences that make my heart beat faster. I enjoy creating unique travel experiences for my travelers, family and friends by immersing them in the reality of the country they are visiting.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I enjoy organising couple getaways, family&friends trip, hiking adventures and wine tasting experience through Italy and Spain and immersing my travellers in the local culture and traditions of the country they will be visiting."

How did you get involved in travel?

"It all started at the age of 15 and when I escaped from home with my older sister, one bag and passport on a day trip from Croatia to the Amusement park in the northern Italy. That trip made me want to travel and discover more which ulteriorly led me to one of the best decisions in my life - to enter the University and study foreign languages. After getting my bachelor's degree in Italian Language and Literature I got opportunity to spend 6 months on a Erasmus Study Stay in Naples, visit the south of Italy and later on start my first working experience aboad, in beautiful Florence. For my personal passions and redevelopment of my native country Croatia, I have also participated in various cultural and debating projects for which I have traveled a lot through Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Poland, Turkey, Lithuania, Latvia and met so many interesting people with same interest in travel who just confirmed me my life vision - dreams do come true, they sometimes just take time."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"One travel experience that makes me particularly happy happened in December 2019. After my university studies I wanted to turn my lifelong dream into reality, so I booked a one way ticket for my dream continent - South America and voluntereed for two months in Chile, Argentina and Brasil. I will never forget the simplicity and warmth of local people, the colorful streets always full of music, exotic fruits never seen before and beautiful panoramic views on every corner. I consider myself happy because I've got the chance to live with locals in their families and share everyday moments which helped me understand more their culture, break down all the stereotypes that media wanted me to believe and made me see the real South America in a way that might not have occured otherwise."

Rome was stunning with so much beauty and history everywhere. We loved wondering around the city and taking it all in. We had a private guide for the Roman Forum and Colosseum, and Maria was fantastic! She gave us so much historical information with a lot of laughs along the way. We also did a food tour that we loved! It was so nice to experience foods and areas we had not ventured to.

Pompeii was very overwhelming. Both from a historical point and a crowds place. It was great to learn so much, but a larger tour group made it feel more robotic and less personal.

Every minute in the Amalfi coast was straight from a fairytale. The people were amazing, the views were stunning, and the vibes were unmatched. We did a lemon farm tour on our first day and loved it so much! It ended up being a private tour, and we learned so much about the farm and its history– not to mention the lemoncello and lemon treat we got to try. We loved the lemoncello so much that we ordered an entire case to get us through life back home.

The highlight of our whole trip was a boat tour down the coast. It was a perfect way to see all of the towns along the coast. Was absolutely beautiful from that vantage point and I can’t believe how lucky we were to see it.

We spent our last day on Capri. Our guide, Giorgio was fantastic and showed us all of his favorite parts of the island. He was funny and charming, and seemed to know everyone. I can say with 100% confidence that he absolutely made our experience. Of course we had custom sandals made while on the island, and could not recommend more! It was really cool to watch, and now I have sandals to remind me of this trip anytime I wear them.

Vanity Hotel Navona
Rome

Vanity Hotel is perfectly situated in Rome! It is just a few minutes to Piazza Navona and everything is within a 20 minute walk. The hotel was clean and quite, and check-in and out was a breeze.

Hotel Matilde - Lifestyle Hotel
Naples

The hotel was trendy and clean, but situated in a very busy area. Leaving the hotel was like walking into a high school assembly with chaos everywhere. We got nearly no sleep as there was noise from the ally below all night long. It sounded like glass breaking over and over again. We were also unable to keep the air or fan on throughout the night, making us very uncomfortable. In addition to the above, the hotel would not help with our bags as we had been promised. Quite frustrating given the hotel entrance is hidden in an ally. The front door locks in the evening and you need to be buzzed up. Not an issue if someone is at the front desk to let you in, but this was not always the case. We had a few stressful evenings not knowing when someone would actually let us in, and got lucky to go in after others had exited the building. Overall, I would not recommend staying here if any other option is available.

Grand Hotel Excelsior Amalfi 4*
Amalfi

Grand Hotel Excelsior was an absolute gem! It has amazing views, great service, and was very authentic. We were in a newly renovated room and it was perfect! Having a balcony overlooking the coast was such a wonderful way to wake up each day. The room was always clean and the staff so helpful. The shuttle was so much more valuable than we realized. Scheduling is easy and it always ran on time. It made getting to the pier and city center a breeze.

The highlight of our trip was the Ferrari Experience where my 20yo son drove a Ferrari 5 laps around a race track. He’s still talking about it. I usually plan all my our trips on my own but this was last minute and didn’t know where to start. Reaching out to KimKim was the smartest decision I made planning this one. I will definitely use KimKim’s services in the future. They were amazing!!!
