I enjoy creating unique New Zealand experiences for our guests. The way I go about it as though I am designing my own family travel. I work with you to understand your specific interests and preferences. I then create your own travel itinerary and make all the travel arrangements for you. I have an extensive knowledge about our gorgeous country. As a company, our network is stronger and wider. Whatever your wishes are, we will make it happen in New Zealand.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"We specialize in anything New Zealand. Whatever you fancy, we can create that ideal New Zealand trip for you!"

How did you get involved in travel?

"When my husband Nats wanted to start a travel business, I too got intrigued and founded Take Me 2 The World alongside him. It has been a rewarding journey for over 10 years now!"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"During the Wellington Anniversary long weekend in Jan 2022, our family (Nats and I with our 2 boys) took the 3-hours scenic ferry to Picton and stayed in that cute coastal town for 4 days. One of those days, we took a ferry to Furneaux Lodge, walked the 13km stretch of Queen Charlotte Track to Punga Cove Lodge. The scenery through the track was out of the world! We walked through the native vegetation, hugging the coast most of the time. When we reached back at Picton, it was time to sample the local cuisine at one of the restaurants overlooking the sea!"

We absolutely loved the itinerary that Uma came up with based on our interview and our time available to explore both the North and South Islands. Uma’s recommendations for restaurants in all the locations we visited were spot on! Uma’s choices of hotels for us to stay at were just perfect! She really listened to my input and made excellent selections and all our hotel stays were very nice, comfortable and well-appointed. Uma was also super helpful and available to problem-solve when we ran into hiccups on the road and went above and beyond to support us on our journey. We will definitely be recommending Uma to our family and friends because she masterfully curated the trip of a lifetime for us and we are so grateful for her expertise and experience 🩵🩵🩵

Some of our favorite things from our trip were: our flight on Salt Air in Paihia to Cape Reinga and the Bay of Islands with our personable pilot, Mikhail. We had the best guide, Ben, at Hobbiton. Ben was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all the details of the making of The Lord of The Rings and Hobbit movies. Our driver, Greg Arnold, with Southern Discoveries, took us on an amazing drive to Milford Sound where we cruised and saw beautiful waterfalls, seals and gorgeous scenery before coming back to a helicopter ride over the mountain tops and lakes from Fiordland. National Park back to the lakes and mountains surrounding Queenstown. Greg and his team of drivers and pilots made sure everyone was taken care of and was having a good time and was super charming and fun! We loved every area we visited and are already planning our next trip🩵🩵

First of all and most importantly, we had an amazing trip! Some highlights for us included: epics hikes in Tongariro, Mt Cook, Queenstown, and Wanaka; kayaking in the Milford Sound; ziplining in Rotorua; and wine tasting in the Gibbston Valley. The incredible scenery, unique flora and fauna, great accessibility to all the sights, and the friendly people combined to make New Zealand one of our favorite trips.

On the kimkim side for booking and planning the trip, we had a pretty easy, good experience overall, with just a couple points of feedback that we think could have made things better. One is that when we made changes to our itinerary and Uma sent us a new itinerary for review, it was not easily clear to us what all the differences were from the previous itinerary. Some activities had been removed, others added, and some changed from included to optional. Over a 19 day trip, this was difficult to keep track of, and we were surprised by a couple things after final approval that were actually different than we thought because we didn't realize they had changed from a previous itinerary. The second point is that it was not clear to us which activities cost money and how much they cost. We also had no idea how much accommodations cost. We weren't working with a strict budget, but there were certainly some things we would have not included or done differently if we had known more about the cost. We're aware that kimkim can't provide an itemized invoice, but we think something like a $-$$$$ ranking similar to Trip Advisor would be very helpful.

Our local specialist Uma was very responsive, helpful, and friendly throughout. I think we definitely had a positive experience there. There were a couple times that we weren't quite on the same page when forming the itinerary or adjusting an activity, and I think we were maybe expecting to discuss options or get her opinion on something before deciding how to proceed, while Uma took our question as more of a direct request and went ahead and made changes. But that didn't detract from our trip, and we really appreciated Uma's great responsiveness.

This was definitely one of our favorite activities. The scenery during the cruise was truly incredible. Then the underwater observatory was also really cool. We even got to see an octopus, which is pretty rare. Finally the kayaking was a perfect way to move around while spending more time in the Sound, paddling around surrounded by these massive cliffs.

Hi Nate & Leslie,

Thank you for taking time to write this review. I am really glad that you had an amazing trip.

I also would like to thank you for your feedback about the areas for improvment. I will surely take care with my future guests.

About the breakfasts at various hotels, I should have mentioned to you before your trip. Generally in New Zealand, the buffet breakfast spread has breads, cereals, pastries, hash browns, scrambled eggs, hams, fruits, juice, coffee and tea (some hotels may have a cheese platter). The buffet spread isn't usually as big as you would find in other countries :)

Thank you once again for the chance to organize your New Zealand holiday. I hope you and Leslie would return in the future!

Warm regards,
Uma
