Having grown up on the edge of the Sahara Desert, I have been affected by travelers all my life. I have seen the wonder they have at what was everyday life for me. I talked to some of them, and listened to their experiences all over the world, and that inspired me to travel. This is where my view is travel as being exposed to life, not just sites and monuments, in other countries began. While every place has its must-see locations, it is the insight into what the average people do, what they eat, how they spend their free time that really makes travel an eye-opening experience that allows us to understand people as humans no matter our differences.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"One part of Morocco we specialize in is the Sahara Desert. Camel treks, quad rides, desert excursions, and overnight camping all make for an unforgettable experience. Also, we often include visits to the home where I grew up, which dates back to the 1700s. It’s an eye-opening experience for many people, especially after the opulent riads they often visited first in Fes. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"I never forgot my early experiences with travelers in my home country, even acting as a guide for travelers wanting to see something off the beaten path. When I first brought my wife to the Sahara Desert, she was just as awed, and wanted to share that experience with her friends, her family - with everyone. And so we decided to do just that. We jumped in and got certifications in the travel industry, sought out transportation and accommodation partners in Morocco, and began our company. We have grown beyond our wildest dreams, taking people from all over the world to Morocco to experience life in my beloved home country. "
