Pikey peak trek: a short trek with great views of everest - 5-7 days, Nepal - Nov 24 - Dec 9, 2018

Traveler: Kevin A. - Local specialist: Erin Green

Just back from an amazing unforgetable 7 day trek to Pikey Peak. from the first contact with Erin through to our last day in Kathmandu Erin was amazing. I ve back- packed all over the world and never taken up a service of this type before but when up a mountain alot can go wrong so felt this was the right choice as all the guides and sherpas are trained and excellent at their job.
Throughout the trip if we had any questions Erin was 10 mins down the road from our hotel and also contactable while on the trip.
Physically i found the trek ok but did get a bit of altitude sickness which Mingmar took care of with some tablets.
This tea house trek is quite new so the accomadation is very basic which is what we wanted also with it being new we had the mountains to our selfs and probably only saw 2 others treking. the most amazing views of everest and the landsape changing daily. many thanks Erin.

All the places were worth seeing, and we are so glad we did everything that we did. I would highly recommend these people and will definitely use them again if/ when I venture back to Africa.

Traveler: Tiffany J. - Local specialist: Nicolás Díaz

Thank you Nicolás for planning our trip on short notice and being so responsive to our questions! We had a great time and things went smoothly - from our transfers to our accomodations and our guides. We especially liked our accomodations in Cartagena and Tayrona. Our guides were also wonderful, particularly Jairo in Bogotá. He was very flexible and knew a great deal. I can't recommend him enough!

The easiest experience ever! First time using kim kim and would definitely use it again! Adriana was my specialist/travel agent. She was a pro and knew exactly what i wanted to do. The hotels books were very nice and the activities were everything we expected. My favorite part was the white water rafting! Over all happy and easy experience.

I was so delighted with this amazing trip to Morocco with my parents. I normally do all of my own travel planning and have never used a service like this so initially I was hesistant. So glad I took a risk and went with KimKim. From the beginning Brahim was very attentive to every detail and took time to understand our needs so that he could plan the perfect customized itinerary. He made sure that all of the hotels would be good for my retired parents as well as for me. Getting picked up from the airport and to our first Riad was very easy. I’m glad we had a guide because navigating Moroccan Medina’s can be tricky. Overall the trip logistics went very smoothly and it was so nice not having to worry or stress over things. When we did have a few small mishaps, Brahim immediately contacted me to rectify the situation. Really amazing customer service.

I was SUPER impressed by our driver Mohammed as well. He was kind, patient, and flexible. He also was a very safe driver, who followed the speed limit, used caution on difficult roads, and kept us safe from some crazy cars on the road. My parents fell in love with him and have even invited him to come visit them in California.

I also really enjoyed our private Fes tour guide Hafid. Not only was he hilarious and entertaining but he had a deep k owl edge of the town’s history.

In terms of memorable cities, I think Chefchouen and the Fes Medina are a tie. Both so unique- like nothing I’ve experienced before. But really, every city we visited was beautiful. The mosaics, fountains, and ever changing landscapes were awesome. I was surprised too by how many small towns and villages we crossed along the way. Stopping for lunch or to explore them as we drove between major cities was one of my favorite things about the trip.

We were met by a driver, Lampros, at the Athens airport, and delivered to our hotel for the night. It was a short walk to pick up the rental car the next morning. Our local guide, Ilias, took us to four sites: Corinth, Epidaurus, Mycenae and Olympia. The sites were great choices, giving us some variety in site ages and styles. Ilias is a fount of information, easy to understand, and worked very hard to tailor his information to our interests. The hotels Harris booked were nicer than I would have chosen, and several of them were really special. One brought a fabulous breakfast basket to our room, one upgraded us to an ocean-front room with balcony, and one changed our room to a lower floor to accommodate our mobility issues. As a nice lagniappe, Harris provided us with a local SIM card to use in our iPhone during our stay.

Thank you Vickie for your kind words.

I am very happy you enjoyed your trip! It is true that you visited some amazing places to Peloponnese!
Of course I would be happy to organize another trip for you any time .

We very much enjoyed the boat trip in camarones. Carlos, our boatman and guide was well informed and we saw many flamingos and red ibis. Learned about Wayuu which interested me. Would NOT recommend trip to others unless they have some real reason to be interested in area.

Anne, owner of Myanmar Pure and all-around amazing human, used my input to handcraft a one of a kind spiritual and physical journey that had me interacting with locals, cooking meals, watching handmade crafts be made, and involved planes, trains, automobiles, e-bikes (think vespa), and boats. I met local fortune tellers and got a traditional tattoo. I took in the wonders of Old Bagan and the radiance of Inn Lay lake. I meditated for 20 minutes in a small crawlspace within the Pindaya Cave. Overall, this will forever be my favorite trip, partially because it is the trip of a lifetime, but partially because my guides and the local people made it so effortlessly special. THANK YOU.

We had a fantastic time in Myanmar; it's a magical place. Our itinerary: One day, Yangon, two days in Bagan, two days in Mandalay, one day in Heho.

We took four internal flights, and we found the domestic airlines to be excellent. I felt more safe than on some US airlines. All we're prop planes.

The whole tour was great and the guides we're wonderful. They all had different strengths
Our guide in Yangon, Ong, was extremely knowledgeable. We called him as a nickname Google. And his English was fantastic. Our guide and Bagan, Tin, was enthusiastic. He was very much concerned with us understanding Buddhism and the cultural practices surrounding the religion. He was thorough and seemed to really enjoy his job. Our guide in Mandalay, Ben, was more on the personal and caring side. He was quick to assure us when our children were running around not to worry about it that Burmese children do that as well in temples. Our final guide, a young lady in Inle was really sweet. We we're with her only for a short time and we were on the boat all day so there was a little less interaction. She actually gave her shoes to a woman who list hers in a temple. Talk about a good deed; ring the bell in a temple. Very kind. Of course my wife gave her her shoes at the end of the day.

The drivers in each stop we're attentive and careful.

The highlights of the trip both involved water. The sunset river cruise on the Irrawaddy in Bagan was once in a lifetime. We we're really moved by the experience. And the day on Inle Lake was fascinating. We loved every minute.

We experienced only one low point which was U Bein bridge. I saw it as a crowded tourist trap and we were out of there in 15 minutes. There is really no need to go there.

My only recommendation for future tours has to do with the hotels. Hotel Hazel in Mandalay had essentially no Wi-Fi. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things; however, it's nice to post pictures to Facebook at the end of the day so your friends and family can see what you're up to. Additionally the hotels were a little far from the city centers so in the evening we really couldn't stroll anywhere just to relax and taken some more of the cultural experience.

Our agent Linn did a really nice job; often following up with us.

I highly recommend using Kim Kim, especially if you have children, ours 11 and 5. I would use Kim Kim again. Thinking of Bhutan next!

Sundar burma trip, Myanmar - Nov 28 - Dec 4, 2018

Traveler: Satya A. - Local specialist: Su Shwe Yee Aung

The communications should be directly with the person and not with the whole group!
Payment should be in 2 installments, 50% down payment and the final payment of 50% 2-4 weeks before the trip.
You should give us the phone number of the local person who will be receiving us at the airport.
We should have a copy of the flight reservations/confirmation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and the resort- I’ll at Lake Inle. We wish we had more time there!
Most of the guides were excellent.

KimKim does a good job of connecting with local agencies, and Lena from In2Jordan put together an amazing itinerary. Our only complaint was with one driver (George) in Israel. He needed a lot of improvement in his English speaking and comprehension, and should have at least known the names of the sites he took us to. Martin Handal, our guide in Bethlehem, did a great job. We're not sure what the purpose of dining in a local home in Wadi Musa served, but the “upsidedown” was delicious.
Maybe printed instructions for border crossings, and encouraging travelers to make sure they have WhatsApp or similar for storing all driver/guide numbers would be beneficial.

I am telling everyone that if they make one trip -go to Jordan and make sure Akrem is your driver!!!
Thanks Lena and Akrem!!!

Jordan is an example to us all of getting along no matter what your religion!

Lena Sluga, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Patricia, thanks a lot for your review! I am happy to hear that you had a great time in Jordan, and with Akram :) Thanks also for the feedback on the driver in Israel, I'll pass that on to my colleague in Bethlehem, so she can act accordingly. All the best for your future travels! Greetings, Lena

Traveler: Aruna V. - Local specialist: Su Shwe Yee Aung

Guides in Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan and inley lake were good. However, the ones in Mandalay and Inlet lake had no clue about our departure times or flight iternerary causing confusion on the last days in those cities. The guide in Yangon was misinformed about our arrival at airport on Dec 3rd and showed up 1 and 1/2 hours after our arrival at the airport only after we communicated with Su by email. If Su had not answered we would have had to find a way to reach Savoy hotel ourselves at night one way or the other.

Mariano, our Kimkim specialist was there for us at the start. We were a group of four people with diverse interests and pretty much zero prior knowledge of the country. We threw our various desires into a pot and Mariano sorted us out with a trip which took us from the high plains of the Atacama desert to the rugged coastline of Chiloe, from the bustling city of Santiago to the bohemian hills of Valparaiso. We had amazing local guides set up by Acorn where Ana was our 24/7 "go to" for requests, wrinkles and suggestions. From finding dentist to dealing with a missed flight, Ana was always there for us - cheerful and helpful!

We would definitely use Kimkim again any time!

Then, we hated our guide (about 99% sure she was hungover). She threw up the entire first half of the tour, told us next to nothing about the places we saw. Then we were dropped off in town at the tour office, so had to walk back to the hotel. We only had about an hour and a half in between tours. The morning tour was so miserable, we didn't even go on the 2nd tour of the day.
We did however, stop by the tour office to find out what time our next morning pick up would be.
And lo and behold, we had the same guide. At least she was not sick the following day, but we were once again underwhelmed with her knowledge. We basically ended up eavesdropping other tours who had knowledgeable guides with interesting information.

Overall, our experience in the Atacama desert was underwhelming, which was extremely disappointing considering all the wonderful things we heard about it before going.

The Manaslu trek was excellent. It had great changing scenery, interesting people, nice teahouses and good food. We visited a remote school by chance on a Sunday and meet one of the teachers, and some of the kids, which was a real highlight of the trip.

Our guide Nawang was excellent, always making sure we were enjoying ourselves and full of information and a good sense of humor. He was helped by two great porters in Ngima and Gelbu, and this team of 3 made our trek so enjoyable, thankyou!

Thanks Mads and Amanda, organisation was great and thanks again for your time and efforts.

Trip to morocco, Morocco - Nov 15 - Nov 26, 2018

Traveler: Janelle M. - Local specialist: Yassine Echcherki

We had a fantastic time in Morocco. We visited seven cities in a span of 12 days, accompanied by our Morocco Off the Beaten Track driver, Mohammed. We began our tour in Chefchaouen, then Fes, Merzouga, Ouarzazate, Marrakech, Essaouira, and ended in Casablanca. Each city was uniquely different from the last and we were greatly pleased with the beautiful accommodations secured for us by the MOTB team. We met some wonderful locals while we were there, and felt so welcomed in a place so far away from home.

Yassine Echcherki, local specialist, responded to this review:

I am so happy to have welcomed you both to Morocco for your special occasion! It was a pleasure getting to tour you around the country, and we are happy to hear that you so greatly enjoyed your accommodations. My local agent, Sangita was informative and efficient in helping me to put an itinerary together within my budget and covering all the places I wanted to visit.
She met me in Kathmandu, introducing me to the guide I would have on my trek to Ghandruk village and was really considerate in checking in with me at every destination to ensure I was safe and happy and that I knew what was happening next. If something needed changing, she did it. Nothing was too much bother and her care was very reassuring, particularly as I was a solo traveller.
Each of my guides along the way, Mr Bhim, Mr Diwakar and Mr Govinda were helpful, good company and informative.
I covered a diverse range of places from Kathmandu, Lumbini, Pokhara, Ghandruk, Bandipur and Chitwan National Park where I had the rare privilege to spot a tiger. As part of my safari itinerary I did a canoe ride, a jungle walk, a jeep safari and ox-cart ride. The guides at Chitwan were knowledgable; the resort was eco-friendly, comfy and sustainable.
At Ghandruk, after a 6 mile uphill trek, I had an awesome clear view of the sunrise over Annuparna 1 and Macchupichre the next morning. That will be etched in my memory forever. The beauty and calm of the mountain village landscape more than made up for the uphill ascent.
Pokhara was a relaxing area and is a destination for foodies - the choice and quality of food was impressive.
Sangita and her husband saw me off with a lovely dinner and cultural show on the final evening.
I couldn’t have been better looked after.
Sangita is an excellent agent and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

Dear Arpita,

Thank you for the wonderful review. It was absolutely our pleasure to have you in our country Nepal and make all necessary arrangements for your trip. Btw you were indeed very lucky to have a glimpse of Tiger in Chitwan, stunning clear mountain views during the short trek (the weather was not really good few days before the trek for mountain views) and special prasad during your Pashupatinath Temple visit. :) We wish you all the best for your world tour.

Looking forward to seeing you back in our country Nepal :)

1) My first few days in Hanoi were great. I really enjoyed Kien and his historical perspective that he was able to provide about Hanoi and Vietnam. It was clear that he studied history at the university, and had many interesting stories and perspectives to share. I walked away with a very rich view of Hanoi and Vietnam, both historically and present day. Kien also let me take my time and come back to him with questions which I really appreciated.

2) The third guide Ngoc was equally excellent. He provided a great perspective of Ninh Binh, Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, the many religions of Vietnam, and daily life in Vietnam. He provided a great cultural perspective that gave me a real picture of what it was like to be Vietnamese. He also shared great personal anecdotes. Our boat ride on Tam Coc was a beautiful highlight!!

3) All hotel accommodations were excellent. The staff were professional and welcoming, the rooms were very clean and well- appointed, and the breakfasts delicious. Each hotel was comfortable and relaxing, including the cruise on Halong Bay. Each night I was able to sleep very peacefully.

4) Transportation was also excellent. All drivers were on time, courteous, and drove safely. This was a great feature for sightseeing!

My only feedback is on the second guide Sang in Sapa. Compared to Kien and Ngoc, she was not as engaged. She didn't share any stories or anecdotes about the region. I would ask her questions, and her answers were very limited. I eventually gave up and starting asking other tribal women we encountered hiking. I bought something from another tribal woman and gave her a big tip since she was more informative and interesting; I talked with this woman more than I talked with Sang.

Sang also made me feel very stressed out about the train back to Hanoi on November 20. She wasn't sure how to get my ticket for the train, and kept asking me for details. Eventually, she figured it out but I'm not sure why she panicked. This was the first and only time that I was concerned about logistics and my itinerary.

Despite my interaction with Sang, the trip was still unbelievable. Vietnam is a special and beautiful place that I hope to visit again.

I enjoyed the complete trip, my guides, Thwe Thwe Gmtt, May Han Thu, Kyikyi Aye and Ko Zay were all very knowledgeable and fun to be with. Riding the bike in Yangan visiting the villages and seeing all the markets were very special for me not only as a photographer but to interact with the people. Being able to go to peoples homes and have shared meals was very memorable. Seeing lots of things and never feeling rushed. The Balloons over Bagan was an experience not to be missed.

Our favorite places were Chefchaouen, Chellah Necropolis (especially the storks), our two Riads in Fes (Le Calife) and Marrakech (Kaiss), Volubilis and Lixus. The Ouzud waterfalls and the Barbary Macaques there were also memorable.

Hello Ben,

Thank you very much for your feedback which is deeply appreciated and helps me and my future travelers to read and learn from your own travel experience. I am very happy to hear you have enjoyed your trip and my local providers' services. I have sent you a check-in email in our conversation during your travel to follow up on your trip and if there is anything I can do for you but did not hear back from you which may be due to the network or you were not checking your emails.

Just after receiving your feedback, I noted your satisfaction remark and immediately called my local driver Rachid to review all the trip and what was wrong, I understood from him that you have decided last minute to skip the bird-watching activity on your way to Asilah, and it was your own decision as far as everything was arranged and ready for you. Rachid proposed to enjoy another road and make some stops for you which I believe went very well as you mentioned above. Also, I have been informed that you have decided to skip the local restaurant in Chefchaouen you selected on your own due to its location. Also, the restaurant in Rabat you selected was far more than you expected and you were not happy. Now, I understand the reason why you were not very satisfied; I wished I could help with these arrangements as well, but you have decided to book them on your own and I respect that. Normally my drivers know a lot and it would have been better to check with them for any local restaurants or services you wish to enjoy then you can decide to take their recommendation or keep your own selection.

I 'll always be here for you the soon new plans for Morocco are ready.

All the best,
Brahim

Ms Nook in Chiang Mai was equally great. All experiences were great. The elephant tour day could have used some preparation. We had no idea the transportation was so long and in the back of a truck. Our son got motion sick and vomited in the back of the truck on the way there which was a bit of a struggle and rough start to the day. With some warning the night before we could have prepared and given him something for motion sickness. Also it would be nice to have clear direction to bring bathing suits for the swimming part. Overall the elephant tour was very memorable and a highlight of our trip.

Thank you much as well for sharing to me such a huge value feedback about the tour especially the itinerary of the city tour to floating market, Grand palace and Chinese street food tour as well as the preparation tips for the Elephant tour.
First, for the city tour, this is the normal city tour we often offer to clients and it is much more focusing on the local touch and daily life experience and got good comments from our clients so far.
As your family have had a free day for resting so I also think that the pace of the tour will be normal for your big kids. I will learn from that for the next family offer. Thank you for noticing me.

Regarding to the elephant tour, I will also learn from that and note the necessary tips for the upcoming tour to our clients and family tour.

For all the pictures, they are all great and I hope that your kids have learnt many things on the way for their living experiences. Is it possible if I ask for your permission to use some of them as our real client study case and experience on tour? if yes, we will really appreciate your support.

Thank you much again in trusting in our service and I look forward to have a chance to welcome to you Asia for the upcoming trips.
I wish your family with good health and happiness always.

Overall, my experience was great. Su was incredibly helpful and very responsive on the planning portion of the trip.

My local guides were very knowledgeable, although sometimes my questions where unanswered mostly due to a language barrier.

On a scale from 1 to 5 I would rate them all at a 4. Out of all my guides I was particularly fond of my guide in Mandalay, as he was the easiest to communicate with.

I would recommend Su and all of my guides to anyone visiting Myanmar.

Both did an amazing job of building a schedule that allowed us to see the key sites that each country had to offer - some of which we wouldn't have seen without their insight. We put our trust in Lena and Daniela and they definitely delivered! Having found Kimkim via a Google search, I was a little skeptical at first that it would work out, but there was far more understanding of our needs than the local travel agent we spoke with in the US who had no experience of the region.

In Jordan we saw Mount Nebo, Madaba, Karak, Wadi Rum, Aqaba, Petra (including dinner with a local family, which was an inspiringly positive experience), and the Dead Sea. Petra and Wadi Rum were outstanding, and while we had 1 day in Petra it really takes 3 to see everything. Our driver, Mohammad, was excellent, and provided neat insights as we drove around. Finishing at the Dead Sea Spa and Hotel was a perfect way to end the Jordan tour. The only lowlight was making our way through the border crossing north of the Dead Sea from Jordan to Israel. We were unaware that there would be an exit tax (10JD per person), plus fees to take ourselves and our luggage on a bus to get to the other side. This experience was frustrating (everyone else making the crossing was just as bewildered), particularly as we'd used our remaining JD to tip our driver. But overall, Jordan was fabulous!

Israel was also fabulous - rich in history and culture, and perhaps more familiar or comfortable to western hemisphere visitors. We spent 3 nights in Jerusalem and 3 in Tel Aviv. Rather than having a personal driver as we did in Jordan, this time we were shuttled to join small group (20 people) tours, which included Jericho, Bethlehem, Old Jerusalem, Nazareth, Galilee, Rosh Hanikra, Caesarea, Acre and Haifa, with some down time in Tel Aviv on our last full day. It was amazing to see so many different things, as well as being right on the Mediterranean.

We would revisit both countries in a heartbeat, and wouldn't think about using anyone other than Kimkim to do so!

Lena Sluga, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Simon!

Thank you so much for your review, I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your trip in both countries! Thanks also for the feedback on the departure tax, it might be worth putting a note about that in future itineraries, so it won't be a surprise.

All the best!

The next day we had an equally great tour to Monserrate led by Sharon. We then flew to Salento (in the coffee-growing region), which was the highlight of our trip. We stayed at Reserva el Cairo, which we can't recommend highly enough. We spent 2 full days there. On the first, we did a mountain bike tour of the wax palms through Salento Cycling (not through Kimkim), which was absolutely fabulous. The next day we had our best tour ever (provided by Kimkim), which was a tour of several local towns with our guide David. We learned to grow and prepare coffee, saw incredible beauty, and hung out in some really gorgeous (non-touristy) little towns. Loved it! The last part of our trip was in Cartagena. This was not our favorite, due to the heat, multitude of tourists, and extremely obvious income inequality. However, we recognize that many people really enjoy the hot coastal environment and that our going there and not loving it was predictable. We did, however, learn a lot about the history of the place, and really enjoyed our tour with Nestor despite our cutting it a bit short due to our discomfort in the heat. It was a relief for us to get back to Bogota, where we all agreed we could spend a lot more time. Overall, we loved Colombia and feel like we want to come back, spending more time in Bogota, the coffee region, and other areas that we haven't visited yet. I also was very pleased with KimKim's services, which were exactly what we needed and perfectly executed.

The Hanging Bridges at Mystic was great but could do without the walk down to the waterfall as the crowds were a real turn off.

Biking with Arenal Bike Company was nice.

Monteverde Lodge and Garden was really nice, very quiet and the grounds were impressive and the proximity to town was ideal for walking to restaurants.

We opted for another zipline which we booked through the hotel, Sky Adventure would have been fine but nobody mentioned how cold it would at that high location.

The horseback riding was one of our favorite tours, we had a private guide which made a huge difference.

Si Como No was a huge hit with my daughter. The only tour we had was to the Manual Antonio Park was fine but could didn't care for the crowds.

Randall did a great job but would have appreciated a bit more information on what to expect on each tour and how long each tour would last. Aside from that, he did a great job.

My goal was to find hard evidence of climate change in the region. There wasn't any hard evidence. I know climate change is hard to capture in a photograph, but I was led to believe that signs of climate change were everywhere. And the people of Apolobamba would be able to speak of it in specific and direct terms. That wasn't the case. Lastly, the accommodations at the last night with Alfonso were extremely rough. I cannot pinpoint where I would have contracted the two infections I'm dealing with now but perhaps they were here. I am currently in and out of the hospital with Typhoid Fever and Shigella. You confirmed then that you were opting for private transport and would be tracking down the necessary funds because it would "let you take photos if something comes up.”

As you now know, Apolobamba is quite remote and some sections of the roads there are in terrible condition. Furthermore, your driver made two trips to the region, one to take you there and one to pick you up, in itself explaining much of the cost of your travel to and from the protected area. You also had a number of private services in La Paz as well as much farther away on the outskirts of El Alto that added to the high overall transport costs of your program.

Regarding the assertion that we led you to believe that there would be clear signs of climate change impacts on local communities, I recall you explaining to me when we spoke that this was an initial, exploratory mission and that if you found some of the potential stories and images of interest you’d be back for longer. I encourage you to return and spend more time in Apolobamba because I am certain that doing so will bring forward the impacts that are being felt in the region. There may not be wildfires and mega-storms but there are most certainly slower, less visible impacts such as soil depletion and loss and associated crop failures, disruption of cultural and agricultural calendars due to changing rainfall patterns, the rise of diseases historically found at lower altitudes and many others. If the specific families and other actors you met with during your short time there were not able to provide the stories and images you were after, more time in the area will allow you to find the ones that can, if they are willing to do so. I can also provide you with several peer-reviewed articles from the region that attest to the growing impacts of climate change in the Central Andes.

Finally, we are, of course, sorry to learn that you may have contracted a sickness while in Bolivia. While it is possible to become sick from food and other vectors anywhere in the world, in Bolivia there are often higher risks in restaurants and homes that are not accustomed to cooking for international visitors. Due to your repeated requests for non-touristic services and as we do not work on a regular basis with some of the families you met and stayed with, it was impossible for us to guarantee their hygiene. By the same token and due to your international travel experience in our region, including Chile before your arrival in Bolivia, we were confident that you would be taking at least partial responsibility on this front. If you need some tips on how to do so in the future, we'd be happy to share some of our experiences and you can also review the health and safety guidance on our website.

Once again, we are disappointed that not everything turned out as you hoped and would be happy to discuss your experiences further by Skype.

Regards,

Stephen Taranto and Milenka Omireis

Step Tuboc was a fantastic guide. He gave good explanations and really knew his flora & fauna, especially birds.
The individual guides were good with 3 being exceptional. The 2 girls that took us to Rasa Island and Mike in the El Nido region.
We enjoyed the hiking, going to the caves, and boating. The highlights were hiking through the rivers to the village, traveling to Rasa Island, & all of El Nido.
We had a great time. We have traveled a good bit (I think this makes 46 countries) and we would rate this in our top 3 travels.
Thank you.

Amazing day with Juancho and Andres in Torre del Pine. Juancho is very knowledgeable and is happy to share his knowledge. Fantastic views and opportunities to take photographs of wild life. Totally recommended.

Another amazing day with Claudia, Christian and Pedro from Kayak Agua Fresca. Memorable moments watching the dolfins playing near our zodiac. Watching the sea lions and so many different birds. Claudia is an amazing guide who speaks very good English and Christian is a very experienced sailor. Totally recommended

Erin Wiley, local specialist, responded to this review:

Wow, Caroline these photos are incredible!!

It looks like you also had really great weather, how wonderful.

I will certainly pass along your positive feedback to our team and to your guides. I'm so glad that this worked out so well and thank you for giving me the opportunity to design such a unique itinerary. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with the both of you and cheers to adventure!

I had done some web research on trips in SE Asia, and was hesitant to use a travel booking service like kimkim; however, I quickly leaned on kimkim to find the right trip for me. I was looking for a trip that would provide a challenge, but not an overwhelming one, and that would expose me to places and people I wouldn't meet otherwise. Through guided questions and back and forth questions, kimkim nailed it. I also appreciate the assistance with some last minute Visa issues.

Jasmine Whitney, local specialist, responded to this review:

Thanks Bob; I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed your ride with us! Our team had a lot of fun hosting you as well. Hope we might have the opportunity to host you on another memorable bike adventure in Asia in the future!

Kind hearted people with much integrity. The guide we had in Marakesh--- Kahil was so knowledgable and helpful. Very kind man and full of so much knowledge and history. Rachid --our guide on our five day adventure into the Atlas Mountains and southern Morocco -- he was like family to us on. We had such fun and extraordinary experiences. Rachid is also an excellent photographer (a good eye) and he took and shared many photos he had taken of us during our time together. We learned much about the Berber people. He took us to several Cooperatives so we could see first hand the work of the Moroccan people - in their small villages. We toured the Argon Oil Cooperate, Berber Carpet Cooperative, the Rose Water Cooperative, the Fossil Cooperative, the Tannery and Leather Cooperative, the Spice and Saffron Cooperative. ... and so on. We learned so much about the Medinas in the villages, and the Kasbahs. We learned of the history of the Berber people. Then of course our night in the Sahara Africa with the Camal Caravan oh my! We love dour night in the Sahara with the great food and singing and drumming by the fire under the stars. The entire trip had such amazing food. Came back with all sorts of Moroccan spices, so our home now smells of Morocco. We have used our Tagines every day since being back.

I can't say enough good things about our experience in Morocco. We love the Moroccan people. We love the smells, the colors, the Call to Prayer. We loved all of it.

We are so looking forward to coming back to Morocco. We will definitely work with the same tour company. Perhaps next year!

En Shallah.

We had one logistical lodging issue and they were available by phone within 5 minutes on a Sunday afternoon to help figure it out. They resolved it right away and the rest of the trip went by without a hitch. It was a very special week getting to visit ireland, having the logistics taken care of and wonderful information to help figure out what we wanted to do each day. We had a great time!

Also the hair dryer burst into flames while in use. The receptionist had the hair dryer replaced but we were nervous about the electrical outlet being hazardous and were unwilling to use any others nor would we use the replacement hair dryer - there were NO compensation offered for this. All other hotels had no issues and were very nice. All excursions were enjoyed ( rafting, zip-lining, nature tour, boat tour/snorkeling, turtle watch). The nature walk in Monteverde was nice - however the tour was regarding plants, insects, and birds and we'd asked to see wildlife (sloths, monkeys, tucans, mackaws) so that was a let down - park informed us we should have been signed up for a night tour to see that. I'm glad Monica really encouraged us to get the hot spot Wi-Fi and the GPS - they were extremely beneficial!

The guide for the longer trip Apple was very personable, friendly and helpful but we did feel at times that her English language skills were below par particularly in vocabulary and fluency in passing on information eg the history of an area. The content of the trip was on the whole very good though could have been a little more imaginative in some areas - we found that we consulted our Lonely Planet guidebook regularly eg for hints on good museums, other sites not on the itinerary. For instance the Sukhothai Museum turned out to be excellent for those interested in the local history , we also found a very interesting ceramic workshop which ran interesting tours . A range of additional things should be able to be suggested by a good guide. Sukhothai was a highlight for us particularly as the Loy Krathong festival was so brilliant with the illuminated historical site - a piece of info which was not included in our itinerary nor particularly emphasised by the guide. The Loy Krathong dinner which we attended in Chiang Mai hotel was fine though somewhat overrated (and artificial compared to Sukhothai event) . It would have be useful to know we were paying such a large amount for that particular event - the buffet food was definitely not memorable.
Also I may have missed it in info provided but it would be good to have some guidance on tipping (for guides/drivers) in Thailand as each country has been different approach to this.

This was my first booking on Kimkim and it was pretty seamless. The costs of this are pretty high, but it is okay if you do not have enough time to plan yourself. I did a bunch of things with my boyfriend during our ten days in Morocco. We did have a few hiccups like the driver not picking us up in chefcheoun or the walking guide not arriving. However, the rest of the trip went smooth. The local private driver we had during our Sahara trip, Youssef, was amazing. He was super enthusiastic and great. My bf and I ended up hanging out with him in Marrakesh as well! Our walking guide in fez was great- he was super informative and enthusiastic. Our walking guide in Marrakesh was okay- he was a bit bland and his English was not as great- unfortunately he was pretty quiet for a lot of the time which was fine but I wish we had the same one from fez! One negative is that there’s a few “hidden” costs and people try to offer you things for free or in good faith but then ask for money- it’s annoying! For example, when we were in our riad in Marrakesh, we asked for coffee a few times thinking it was free. In the end they asked for money before I checked out- this should have been communicated beforehand since the states offer free things or are more upfront with costs. The riads we stayed at were good- we loved a lot of them especially the one in ourzazate. The one in Marrakesh didn’t have hot water so it was a bit hard to shower but other than that no issues. Overall- it was great having Brahim as a guide as he was alert and attentive. He was quick to respond and made the kimkim experience a positive one.

To say this experience was amazing would be an understatement. I spent countless hours researching the sites and monuments in Athens and put together a list of all the ones that interested me and my Husband. I sent a message to KimKim as they were the only company I found that not only put personalized tours together (forget the canned tours where you only get a few minutes at each site with a large group of people and are rushed away due to a schedule and don't always get to see every site you're interested in) but they spent time and energy helping us put together the most memorable tour for our Honeymoon. I have told as many people I can about this company as I feel as though if you are traveling to an unknown land - you should get the best most valuable experience - KimKim delivered over and above our expectations. We were greeted, on time, by the most amazing and friendly tour guide, Cici. She was lovely, knowledgeable, respectful and really spent time catering to our desires and interests. Cici was not the only KimKim representative we interacted with - from the date we showed interest until after we left Athens, we were given advice, suggestions and support for the remainder of our trip to Santorini and Crete. We saw everything we wanted to see, had a great lunch to break up the day and then, a private driving tour of the entire city. we saw every monument, all the best parts of Athens and really felt a connection to our guide. once we paid for our package we were assured everything was included, transportation, tickets to attractions and the most thorough explanation of the monuments and their glorious history. There is not one negative thing I can say as we reflect back on the most amazing experience we were provided with. We plan to travel to Thailand next and we will absolutely be putting out trust in KimKim to help us plan another outstanding experience for us. I have never felt so taken care of by a company in the past and believe they really try their hardest to ensure each one of their clients is completely comfortable and satisfied. their response time to messages is quick and they really made us feel completely comfortable before, during and after our excursion.

Thank you KimKim for the most memorable honeymoon experience anyone could ask for!
With Extreme Gratitude,

Our guide Tendu and our porters, Pemba & Dolci could not have been better. Apart from looking after us so well, we quickly felt they were more like friends we were lucky enough to trek with. They were so friendly, informative and perceptive - so quick to respond to individual’s needs during day while trekking and all other times.
The tea houses varied in their facilities, but we loved them all - all in great locations, clean, comfortable and great food.
Amanda also felt like do much more than a travel consultant - she met us in Kathmandu both before and after our trek.

Amazon/manu adventure, Peru - Nov 10 - Nov 15, 2018

Traveler: Chris C. - Local specialist: Steve Wilson

Steve was very responsive. Nestor, our guide, Alex and Guido as well as our boat crew were excellent. The trip accommodations were more basic than expected. The definition of our overnight accommodations as lodges was stretching it. Hot water did not exist for the entire trip. The activities were outstanding!

Steve Wilson, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Chris
Thanks for taking the time to review your trip to Manu for us! I’m disappointed you rated your trip only four stars and will be contacting you privately to discuss how we can improve. All I’ll say here is that accommodations in Manu are more basic than elsewhere in Peru, and we do try to set expectations accurately, for example with mentioning there are no hot showers in the introduction to the trip here in kimkim. Anyway, I’m glad the awesomeness of Nestor, Alex and Guido and the activities they facilitated helped make up for the basicness of the accommodations!
Cheers

Tamara was an excellent specialist - she worked within our budget, and made sure we saw all the sights we wanted to in Jordan. I was impressed with the itinerary, and loved every one of our drivers. Our hand-offs were smooth, and all of the drivers and guides were incredible! Other than the hotel in Petra (which was just old) the lodging at each stop was fantastic. Tamara even accommodated a last minute change to our arrival time, without blinking an eye. She was amazing, and I was so happy we went with KimKim!

I worked with Emily and Erin in planning my solo hike through Patagonia. It was ane ady process and they were happy to answer all my questions. They even put my mind at ease when I voiced my concerns about my readiness to do this experience, having never hiked before and feeling a bit apprehensive about doing it self-guided. They were right though, it was amazing and I'm so glad I did it. Highly recommend Dittmar and the ladies for the care and professional service.

Group departure - trekking the jordan trail from dana to petra – 9 day tour, Jordan - Nov 17 - Nov 25, 2018

Traveler: Grant S. - Local specialist: Ahlam Serhan

This was an AWESOME trip! Extremely well organized, both of our guides were knowledgeable and friendly, the scenery was spectacular, and Petra is indeed one of the wonders of the world. Don't be fooled; this hike is not an idle ramble in the countryside; it's more a Seal Team Six exercise in some of the most austere scenery I've ever seen. But, when you finally get to Petra, you feel you've really earned it. Now I'm going to sleep for a few days...

Ahlam Serhan, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Grant!
Thank you very much for your feedback, it was a pleasure to assist you and organize your trip, and I’m thrilled to hear that you had a great time. :-)
I will make sure to pass this on to the guides. And if you ever need help with another trip in Jordan, we’ll be happy to assist you again in the future.
Now you make sure to enjoy your well deserved rest and sleep! :-)
Best wishes to you and Wil,

Trip to colombia, Colombia - Nov 16 - Nov 23, 2018

Traveler: Stacy R. - Local specialist: Brian Schon

We loved our trip to Estación Corcornan. We enjoyed birds, monkeys, hippos, waterfalls and life on the river - all without a single other tourist or boat in sight! Our guides Ana and Victor were awesome and super knowledgeable about the area. Victor knew all the birds, frogs, and wildlife in general and even some of the tree species. I asked for a bird guide (I am a birder) and I definitely got someone who knew his stuff!

The trip felt very authentic and we enjoyed living like locals and eating traditional foods. Highly recommended and thanks so much for all the arrangements!

Brian Schon, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Stacy,

Thank you so much for the kind words! Everyone had a blast with you in Puerto Triunfo and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your time!

Take care and we hope to see you again in Colombia sometime soon.

Khopra danda - community trek, Nepal - Nov 9 - Nov 22, 2018

Traveler: Arno B. - Local specialist: Erin Green

It has been a very easy experience booking this trip to Nepal with KimKim and Erin.
As a first time traveler to Nepal and little time to plan I was well taken care off and the trip was conducted as planned and everyone of my pick ups has been on time and was well equipped and professional. The Hotel in Kathmandu was a treat and the hiking was well conducted and I always have been looked after by my guide.

Nepal is amazing and the weather luckily cleared up for all the highlights.

Erin Green, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Arno! Thanks for the review. Yep, that was easy! You were a fantastic guest. I'm glad you enjoyed the trek, that the weather cooperated, and that you enjoyed the Kathmandu hotel we provided- nice after a tea house trek :)

Hope we can get you back here in the future!

Our 4 day custom tour was nearly perfect. The only glitch was an early morning pick-up that didn't happen. I reached our contact person and we were instructed to hire a cab to deliver us to the pier (a 30 minute drive). I paid the driver $25.00 for which I was reimbursed 2 days later. All of our guides were professional, pleasant and very accommodating. Marielisa was our knowledgeable travel specialist and arranged quality tours, boats and helped with planning the itinerary. Day tour of petra, Jordan - Nov 23 - Nov 23, 2018

Traveler: Jeff P. - Local specialist: Tamara Salameen

The process of booking was easy. But I was very disappointed in the tour. While the tour of Petra was a must-do, the price for the experience was not equal to the value. Our guide was nice and pleasant and stayed with us 2.5 hours. She connected us to a young friend to provide rides up the mountain. After she left, he tried to scam for more money. We finished our walk up and down ourself. The price of entry to the park, 2.5 hours of tour and a buffet lunch did not really equal the $185 in value.
I will not recommend this tour to any others.

Tamara Salameen, local specialist, responded to this review:

Dear Jeff,
Thank you very much for traveling with us and your detailed feedback is highly appreciated.
We apologize for any inconvenience. That's certainly not the kind of experience we want our guests to have. We strive for excellency and your holiday should be as you expected.
And we take your comments very seriously and have discussed with the team aiming to improve our future services and to choose best guides.

Nevertheless, thanks again for experiencing Jordan with us. We will be more than happy to host you again in the future.

Happy travels! Tamara

Erin did a wonderful job of customizing my trip and staying on top of things, even during my time there. I had a lovely experience with my outings and my guides.

Erin Green, local specialist, responded to this review:

Hi Katherine,
I'm so glad you enjoyed your experience here. You had a full trip- culture, trek, Chitwan, and more. Really glad we could put you with complimentary local guides- particularly since you were a solo adventurer, that was important for us. Thank you so much for the feedback and hope to see you again!

The hotels and itinerary were exactly as we had hoped and having a local contact like Tasos really paid off. Tasos was attentive to our requests and was quick to respond to any communications. He even arranged for some belongings we left behind to be forwarded to another hotel along the way for us to pick up! Although we never met in person, on our final day one of his team visited us as we were waiting to go to the airport with a small parting gift. We could not recommend his service highly enough.

Tasos Mylonas, local specialist, responded to this review:

Thank you, Michael.
I am very happy you enjoyed your trip. It is true you visited some of the most beautiful areas of Peloponnese and some of my favorite ones.
Next time I hope we'll have the chance to meet in person. Have a wonderful summer!

Bhupendra was an employee, who left AI part way through my planning process, but I wasn't told this upfront. I ended up dealing with three different agents with AI. In addition to that, AI doesn't provide any drivers or any guides outside of Delhi. They contract out for the drivers and hire local agents in each city, who then hire independent guides. Most of that went pretty smoothly, although in the final location, the guide questioned whether my trip included the payment into the sites. He was good about it, but that illustrates the challenges with the dissemination of the actual services so far down the chain. Again, it just would have been good to know that upfront, so that I could be prepared for how everything was to unfold. Overall though, the guides were very professional and I really liked our driver Prakash. They all did an excellent job looking after us.

Family trip to marrakesh, Morocco - Nov 15 - Nov 22, 2018

Traveler: andrew w. - Local specialist: Abdellah El Asely

2 great day trips in Morocco

1- Seti Fatma and the 5 waterfalls, rather energetic climb to the top went from 1500 at base to around 2000m , took 2 hours, with an extra guide that was NOT included in the price. Fantastic experience, followed by a lunch in a riverside cafe restaurant.

2: Agafay desert - amazing experience with a truly personalized tour, we were all surprised how 'desert like' the scenery being so near Marrakesh. Alot of it 'off road' , stopped for tea in a Berber tent. great trip

Abdellah El Asely, local specialist, responded to this review:

Dear Andrew,

I am really glad to read your feedback, it seems you had a good time during your trip to Agafay and Ourika valley, my greatest reward is to hear that you are back home with good memories of my country and its people, I really hope to welcome you again in Morocco and show you other beautiful and mysterious places.

pkease accept my sincere appologize for not letting you know about the extra cost for the local guide in Ourika valley, your feedback will help us to improve our services and to be more informative to our next guests.

All the best,

The food on the trip was fantastic; the accommodations were excellent everywhere we went.
Our guides were excellent in both countries, An in VietNam and Hiang in Cambodia.
Hiang in particular really shared from his heart and included us in his personal world in a very special way. He was very knowledgeable about his country and spoke honestly and lovingly about all aspects of Cambodian life and history. I fell in love with the country.
Our final hotel nights in Siem Reap at the Jaya House were incredible. In my wildest dreams I did not expect a finish like that!
Regarding planning and communication in preparation for the trip I was not heavily involved, but from what I know our chief organizer Howard Schubiner found working with Adam very easy and helpful.

Traveler: G boy G. - Local specialist: Kripa Sunuwar

The trip was amazing, life changing experiences! Tendu was a great guide, so caring and knowledgeable. He was like one of the crew and made us all feel at ease.
I loved interacting with the people at all the villages and the other trekkers. The food, of course was great! The most memorable moments, were getting through those tough treks! It felt good accomplishing such hardship and finding you're inner strength & connection with nature.
Thank you so much for the experience(s) and can't wait for next time!👍

We went on the Ghorapani/Poon hill trek, then stayed in Pokhara, Chitwan, and Kathmandu for a few days each. We really enjoyed our trek and Pokhara the most. We stayed at Temple Tree Resort in Pokhara and had an amazing time, beautiful hotel, great food, great bar, great staff, hooka available with your meal, spa attached to the hotel, very very nice! Understand that the accommodations during your trek are very basic, but all other accommodations will be nice.

KimKim had a great network of very nice people that helped transition us from place to place, from the guide, porter, cab drivers, and tour guides. Couldn't have had a better experience. We will be referring people to Kripa and Himalayan Trails/KimKim.

Namaste!

My husband and I like to engage with our guides and discuss not only all we learned from them about Morocco, but also their lives and experiences. The Dar Baraka in Marrakesh was wonderful, esp the roof top where we had breakfast. I can't remember the name of our first guide in Marrakesh, who we enjoyed being with. He also taught French in secondary school, and as we were teachers (and my husband speaks French) we got along very well. Our guide for our tour in the desert and Ait Benhaddou was Rashid (from Essaouira) -- another great companion and good conversationalist. The driver was excellent, which we appreciated. Our guide Samir accompanied us to the Berber home stay, where we met the 80 year old pater familias and other family members. Wonderful! And our day in Tangier with Khalid was also memorable -- beautiful weather, interesting sights, good conversation. I'm so glad I found your website -- it was truly a great experience!

We decided to do the fantastic Annapurna Circuit. Definite hiking highlights here are the Tilicho Lake and Thorong La Pass, but for us, the experience is also elsewhere. For example, the fantastic food you eat on the way, meeting other trekkers, the peace and calmness of life, no internet and mobile phone connection, and even the unfortunate event of blocked roads due to busses not being able to continue in the mud.

Throughout our trek, Erin was in close contact with our Guide Chhiring. To us, this just shows so much dedication to her profession and emotional connection. It goes therefore without saying that we are extremely happy with the great travelling experience and the fantastic support we received from Erin and Chhiring all the way through! Definitely recommend to go on tour with them!

Hi Vincent! Thanks so much for the review. Really glad you had a good experience overall with Chhiring and the whole team, and thanks to you so much for being so flexible! At the end of the day you went on a pretty sweet trek! Hope to see you back here one of these days :)

Group departure - khopra danda trek - a great off the beaten path trek in the annapurna region, Nepal - Nov 1 - Nov 8, 2018

Traveler: Peter M. - Local specialist: Ngima Dorji Sherpa

I have a few requirements when I travel: I don't like to fight for space with loads of tourists; I like to see inaccessible or unusual places; and although I tend to travel alone, I like to be part of a group to share my experiences.
From the moment I asked my first question about Khopra Danda, I knew I was in good hands. To plan a holiday into the unknown requires complete trust in the company you deal with - this includes Ngima (the owner of NMMT), the guides and the porters. No question... read more

From the moment I asked my first question about Khopra Danda, I knew I was in good hands. To plan a holiday into the unknown requires complete trust in the company you deal with - this includes Ngima (the owner of NMMT), the guides and the porters. No question was too much or inconsequential.
During the briefing, the night before we left, the group of three Australians and three Americans instantly bonded - a great sign for the upcoming 7 days of trekking and transport.

Our main guide, Lhakpa, set a steady, manageable pace which managed our energy reserves throughout the trip.

The first part of the trek was to get to Ghorepani and Poon Hill. This is clearly a popular destination, as the 3,400 stairs were never empty, and the dawn viewing was inundated with tourists. None of that mattered: we were entertained and looked after the whole way; and the views were spectacular!
Throughout the entire trek, both the food and the views just got better every day.

Out of the six of us, two suffered from upset bellies at various points in time and we all had our own special pace to keep us going. This meant that Lhakpa needed to discuss with the group new plans each day. For example, one day we shortened our hike, and on another we pushed on further than we thought possible. This would not be possible with an experienced guide!

Lhakpa also seemed to be able to get us the best of everything! From mountain-side seats on our flight, to top-floor rooms in Ghorepani, to double rooms in overcrowded lodges.

It is not just walking, eating and sleeping involved in trekking. We often discussed local politics and religions in an effort to understand the local culture, something that our guides were only too willing to educate us on. Old customs, overthrown royalty, yaks and naks, yeti and wildlife (leopards, tigers and wolves) were everyday conversations.

The highlight of the Khopra Danda Trek was the day we hiked to Kaire Lake, at 4660m. We set off before dawn and returned as the sun was setting. It was a truly humbling experience to climb over 1,000 metres amongst some of the biggest mountains in the world. To reach Kaire Lake, a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist, was not only exhilarating, but also calming.
Out of all the people who stayed at Khopra Lodge, we were the only group to make it, to which I credit our wonderful guides.

I would book another trek through Ngima again, no doubt at all. And if you made it through this review, then you should book one as well!

Trip to manang, Nepal - Oct 27 - Nov 8, 2018

Traveler: Pernelle V. - Local specialist: Erin Green

Our trip to Nepal was amazing! Erin did an excellent job of organising our trip, and responding to our queries. Our guides while up in the mountains, Pemba and Dawa, were incredible- kind, attentive and great company. Our stay in Manang was excellent- the views of the mountains there are beautiful and we hope that Hotel Mystic does very well, as they took very good care of us! Would happily recommend KimKim and Himalayan Trails to anyone else looking to do some trekking or exploring in Nepal! :)

Hi Pernelle! Thanks so much for your review. We all worked hard to get that trip together for you so you could rendezvous with your people in Manang. I'm so glad it worked out so well. I've shared your commendations with Pemba and Dawa and the rest of the team. We appreciate it and look forward to seeing you here again!

Nar phu valley trek - 9 days, Nepal - Nov 6 - Nov 14, 2018

Traveler: Josh T. - Local specialist: Amanda Delecca

As I only delt with Amanda online and very briefly in Nepal I gave 4 stars, this is not a reflection on her service as she was very helpful and easy to liaise with. I wanted to save the five star rating for our wonderful guide Sonam and porter Mik Ma (hope i spelt his name right). Everything was perfect. My first trek and apart from it hurting badly on my very sole it was awsome.. Josh

Jordan experience, Jordan - Oct 11 - Oct 19, 2018

Traveler: Brad F. - Local specialist: Carmen Scholten

Carmen set up a trip of a lifetime for our family. We were impressed with every aspect of our journey. From our driver, hotel rooms, and general itinerary - all of it was superb.

Carmen set up a trip of a lifetime for our family. We were impressed with every aspect of our journey. From our driver, hotel rooms, and general itinerary - all of it was superb.

Our driver (Haitham Shaltoot) was way more than just a driver. Immediately upon greeting us at the airport he was asking us our likes and dislikes for food, and what we expected from our visit to Jordan. He became our driver, cultural adviser, and tour guide. Without Haitham our trip would have been great, but with him our trip turned into something special that we will always remember. He was great with both of our boys (5 and 10), and ensured that they were always included. We were all saddened to say goodbye to him at the airport on our last day - he had become part of the family.

We met a tremendous guide at Little Petra (Qassim Mohammad). Qassim led us through Little Petra and we were so impressed that we asked him to lead us through the desert to the Monastery at Petra. Qassim not only led us to the Monastery, but he also explained all of the wildlife and vegetation along our journey. We all learned a great deal from Quassim specifically about the Bedouin way of life. He got along so well with our children that he invited us over for dinner after our visit to Petra. His whole family showed us tremendous hospitality and my wife was able to get the experience of our dreams - learning how to cook Arab food from an Arab woman.

I cannot recommend Carmen enough - you cannot go wrong working with her.

Trip to costa rica, Costa Rica - Nov 8 - Nov 12, 2018

Great trip but missing voucher so did not know the plans for the big birthday day. Had to make other plans.

Trip to greece, Greece - Oct 13 - Oct 26, 2018

Traveler: ROBERT B. - Local specialist: Tasos Mylonas

We did a two-week custom tour, with guides, hotels, ferries, transfers, etc Tasos helped me come up with itinerary and responded to my questions and suggestions. He was great.

It was pretty complicated but it went off without a hitch. When I had questions, Tasos was great about getting back to me quickly.

We went from Athens to spetses, Napthia, micenae, Olympia, Navpaktos, meteora, and Delfi. 3000 years in 12 days. Greece was amazing!

Tasos Mylonas, local specialist, responded to this review:

Thank you, Robert!
I am very glad you enjoyed your trip. It was demanding but a real pleasure to plan.
You visited some amazing places indeed, and there's definitely more for the next time around.
Wish you happy and safe travels.
