Everything tour wise went great, each guide met us in our lobby and had local/native knowledge of the areas we toured. I asked each day if the driver would eat lunch with us, and was told no, and that I should not get him a lunch from the restaurant. That felt strange to me.

So much of the history has burned down and been rebuilt, but it was neat to see things that had survived

Hi Terry, welcome home, and thank you for sharing your feedback!

I'm so glad to hear you had a great trip and that the knife-making experience and gold leaf chopsticks were some of your favorite activities. It’s also wonderful that you enjoyed seeing all the beautiful woodwork around Takayama.

I'm happy that four of the five hotels worked out well for you. Thank you for your honest feedback about the Hyatt Kanazawa. Kanazawa is a smaller city with fewer hotel options, so I chose it for its boutique style and location, but I'll definitely keep your comments in mind for future trips.

As for the drivers and lunch, I understand why that felt a bit strange. In Japan, guides and drivers usually eat separately and take care of their own meals, so that is completely normal. In some ways, it's similar to tipping—while your gesture was very thoughtful and appreciated, it isn't generally expected as part of the local culture.

It sounds like you had a wonderful time exploring Japan’s rich history and culture, and I’m glad the local guides were able to share their knowledge, stories, and insights along the way to bring each destination to life. Experiences like these often help create a deeper connection with the places you visit.

It was a pleasure helping you plan this trip, and I’d be happy to help with your next adventure whenever you're ready!

Leny

We enjoyed this trip very much and are very appreciative of the support we received from KIMKIM. We worked with Aleksandra for several months finding a way to include all the cities and areas we wanted to visit.
In terms of cities I think Dublin was our favorite. We liked the Mercantile Hotel - a great location, nice room, amazing breakfast and a very good bar and restaurant. We enjoyed the stores and pubs in the neighborhood a lot. The Hop On Hop Off bus stop was very close to our hotel and we used this system to make our way around Dublin.
We're so glad Aleksandra recommended the tour of 14 Henrietta Street. It was a little tricky to find but we had a very nice guide and appreciated his words about the history of the building.
The day tour of the Cliffs of Moher was disappointing. The bus was very cramped and Bill especially was uncomfortable because of no leg room at the seats. Galway was a big disappointment it was very crowded with tourists and we saw no charm in the city.
Kilmainham Jail was fascinating. The guide provided an excellent exposure to the many different eras of the jail including why people were jailed and executed there. Experiencing the small cells and limited access to the outside was chilling.
The Guiness Experience Tour was a struggle. It was packed with people - mostly young people who's purpose was to enjoy the free beer.
We were so glad to visit Trinity College and the Book of Kells. It was a graduation day for medical students so the plaza was filled with family members bearing numerous floral bouquets. It's too bad the books are being removed from the "Long Room" and it will be closed to the public for several years.
Edinburgh was our next stop and our lodging issue was extremely frustrating but NOT the fault of Aleksandra. We thought the apartment building had a lift but it did not. Only a very large spiral staircase and there was no way we could have handled that climb daily. Aleksandra was quick to respond and found us another hotel very close to the areas that we were scheduled to tour. My only suggestion about Edinburgh is that people who are considering Edinburgh need to understand how steep the streets are and how difficult it is go get around. Our food tour was excellent. The castle tour was very strenuous. The Real Mary King's Close was difficult due to uneven flooring and small doorways but the guide was very accomodating to the senior citizens. Holyhood House was very interesting to see - we enjoyed that opportunity very much.
Our hotel in Bayeux was very nice close - to the train station and the downtown area. We were a bit challenged by all the football fans who had filled the bars close to us to watch Arsenal but we enjoyed the fun, Our all day tour of the Normandy beaches was a real highlight of our trip. We booked this tour ourselves but I would suggest that KIMKIM include this gentleman for Normandy tours in the future. His name is Bertrand Saudrais and his email is [email protected].
Our hotel location in the West End was great. The changing of the guard was very crowded and took quite a long time but we wanted to see it. The Royal Mews was very interesting and our lunch at Buckingham Arms Pub was a great recommendation from Aleksandra.
Unfortunately our trip to the Victoria and Albert museum was cancelled. Bill had a cold and we both thought we needed a day off.
The river trip to Hampton Court didn't work out. It was raining heavily and the wind gusts were difficult. The boat did not have enough room for everyone and we ended up on the front deck chairs. After an hour we got off the boat and found a local pub where we enjoyed a great lunch and a very friendly group of people.
The next day our Hidden Pubs of London tour was a wonderful history of London pubs over the centuries. Drinking beer wasn't the focus but the guide Lynden was excellent. - very informed and very cognizant of all the people on the tour.
Our day long tour of Stone Henge, Bath and Windsor Castle began at 7:00 AM anded at 6:30 PM - a long day. However, the coach we had was very comfortable we covered many miles hearing from our guide and talking with our fellow tour people. All of the stops were just as we had hoped but it would have been nice to have more time in Windsor Castle - guess we'll have to go back.
On Saturday it was raining again as we waited in line at Parliament. Once we got inside we really enjoyed the different rooms for the various political groups. Very interesting.
Our last day we toured the British Museum that was very close to our hotel. Seeing the ancient artifacts from around the world was such a pleasure..
Overall, we were once again very pleased with KIMKIM. Aleksandra worked very hard to fulfill our wishes in the way that made the most sense. What we learned is that we may have over booked this trip with tours - we should have included at least one more day of rest.
As we talk to our friends about our travels we always mention the KIMKIM name so I hope you'll get some new customers.

We were excited for Kimkim to help us out with our planning for our Ireland trip. We were expecting a local expert and high level of concierge support. Cathy was part of Highpoint Holidays - which is a travel agent based in France. Cathy was NOT local to Ireland, although they claimed that they had local experts. The service we received was about average for a non-local travel agent. The places that were booked were ok, the hotels were decent and met our expectations - but we could have probably booked them ourselves. Two of the planned activities could not be scheduled - our dinner in Dublin and the food tour in Kinsale. We were reimbursed for those items - but were disappointed. We ended up booking our own food tour. We ended up NOT being able to attend the hurling match in Galway, because there was no adequate car service to get there. The drivers for the Giants Causeway and Dingle peninsula were just that - just drivers, not really private tour guides. A gruly local Irish travel agent, would likely have been able to advise our activities and make recommendations much better than what we got. While all the acommodations were ok, it was not the high end local concierge service that we thought we paid for -- we could have actually done most of the research ourselves and booked the trip on-line, likely for cheaper than we paid for. We still enjoyed the trip very much, because we were able to adapt and plan a lot of it ourselves - not sure we'll use this service again in the future for the price paid.

The room that we had was really nice, large and plenty of space. The issue we had was the hotel was pre-paid. They took our credit card at the desk for "incidentals" similar to hotels in the United States - so we didn't think anything of it. They ended up charging us $600+. Then they said they made a mistake, so the refunded us. Then they said they made a mistaket with the refund - and - ended up charging us again. Since we paid with a third party (through Kimkim) - we had to go through them. Both Kimkim and us were unsuccessful in getting the charge reversed. We ended up going through our credit card company. It was a very stressful situation and the hotel manger that we dealt with was very rude and didn't listen to our explanations. While the accomodations were nice, the bar was nice, and the restaurant was decent - be wary of how they charge you.

Thank you, Katie, for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. I'm glad to hear that you ultimately enjoyed your trip and were able to make wonderful memories in Ireland.

I appreciate your comments and would like to address a few points. While I am not Irish, I lived in Ireland for many years and have extensive experience planning trips throughout the country. In addition, I work closely with local partners and suppliers to create authentic experiences for our travelers.

Throughout the planning process and during your trip, I remained available to answer questions and assist whenever needed. My team and I also worked hard to help resolve the hotel issue in Belfast as quickly as possible.

Regarding the accommodations, the itinerary was carefully designed to match the budget range and preferences discussed during the planning process. While higher-end properties were certainly available, they would have required a higher overall trip budget.

I'm sorry that some activities could not be confirmed due to availability constraints. In each case, alternative options were proposed, and when those did not meet your preferences, we arranged refunds promptly. We always strive to be transparent and flexible when unexpected availability issues arise.

I also appreciate your feedback regarding the drivers and guided experiences. We work with trusted suppliers and have received positive feedback from many travelers, but I will certainly share your comments with our team and partners as we continuously look for ways to improve.

Thank you again for your review. Feedback like yours helps us refine our services and better set expectations for future travelers. I wish you many more wonderful adventures ahead.

Warm regards,

Cathy

My husband and I got married last October. We are 57&60 yo. This was a 2nd marriage for both of us and our dream trip was Ireland (especially as Joe and his family are Irish). I was trying to personally plan our honeymoon Ireland trip while feeling very time crunched and stressed with work and family obligations. . I googled self- driving itineraries as a jump off point not knowing where to start and Kim-Kim popped up. I had planned to do all the planning myself but after looking at the website and reading the reviews I decided to go ahead with filling out the questionnaire just to see. BEST decision ever!
The questionnaire is detailed but for a very good reason. They truly use it to make sure your vacation meets your needs on all fronts. Our specialist Claire got in touch asking some clarifying questions and then put together a tentative trip for us. At that point we made some revisions and added some days (because we decided to include Belfast to our trip). Claire was helpful, patient and did an excellent job. She incorporated things we specifically asked for (like accommodating a concert date we wanted) and made suggestions we would never have thought of…. it all culminated in a perfect honeymoon we will always remember…. We made so many wonderful memories and we can’t wait to go back!
My parents and siblings and kids have all decided to go to Ireland next year and Claire is helping us again. My family heard us gush about the experience made so easy by Claire and Kim-Kim and asked me to do the planning with her. We can’t wait!

FYI…I took the time (and paper) to print out our 17 day itinerary (trip book) for our Honeymoon including tips, excursion vouchers, directions etc.thinking it was good to have a physical copy… but honestly there was no need… I barely looked at that heavy folder the whole trip. The Kim-Kim app was so straight forward and easy to use with directions links to everywhere we were going (excursions, hotels etc) and links to our excursion vouchers with contact info for all the events, excursions and hotels. It was a breeze from the moment a driver picked us up from the airport to when we picked up our rental car through every stop along the way and finally returning the rental car on our last day. Everything well thought out and easy. 👌🤩 They know their stuff!
I am already using Kim-Kim again for next year and will definitely use in the future for other bucket list trips. Michelle & Joe Greaves

Our family (8 yr old boy, 11 yr old girl) had the most incredible trip to Belize, thanks to Alex, who crafted an itinerary with the perfect flow. Starting inland and ending the trip on the cayes was exactly the right balance — culture and adventure first, then pure relaxation by the water.

Every experience felt thoughtfully chosen. Cave tubing with Angel was unforgettable; he was patient, kind, and absolutely wonderful with our kids. Edegar brought so much energy and fun to our horseback riding day — the kids adored him. The farm had a little dog who came along and would bark and point out monkeys in the trees. Truly, all of our guides were amazing and made the trip feel special.

We stayed at Ka’ana, where the staff went above and beyond. They were incredibly accommodating, especially with our picky eaters — if they had the ingredients, they happily made whatever the kids needed. It made our stay feel so easy and welcoming.

On the islands, Ramon’s was such a fun place to stay. We loved the style, the atmosphere, and the whole vibe of the property.

Our snorkeling trip was the highlight of the beach portion — absolutely magical. We saw a manatee, sea turtles, sharks, angelfish, and even a huge stingray. It was one of those experiences you know you’ll be talking about for years.

Belize gave us the perfect blend of adventure, culture, and relaxation, and we couldn’t have asked for a better trip.

I especially loved hearing about your experiences with the team and partners. They are wonderful people, and I know they will be thrilled to hear that they helped make such a positive impact on your trip. The story about the little dog barking and pointing out monkeys is sometimes the best guide in Belize, haha... It’s those unexpected moments that often become the most memorable.

I'm also delighted that Ka'ana and Ramon’s exceeded your expectations. Both properties have so much character, and it's wonderful to know they helped create such a comfortable and enjoyable experience for your family.

Thank you again for trusting me with your family vacation. Helping create experiences that bring families together and leave them with lasting memories is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I hope Belize remains a favorite family story for many years to come, and whenever you're ready for your next adventure, I would be honored to help again, Guatemala next time perhaps.

We used KimKim to help plan our 30th anniversary trip to Italy, and we could not have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, our planning specialist, Fabio, was exceptional. He truly listened to what we wanted from our trip and was incredibly patient as we explored different ideas and made decisions. He provided thoughtful suggestions, helped us find wonderful places to stay, and created an itinerary that felt personal and perfectly suited to us.
Our journey took us to Lake Como, Venice, Florence (including a wine tasting experience in the Tuscany region), and Positano. Each destination was made even more special by the amazing guides and drivers who helped us experience Italy in such a meaningful way. Our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, sharing the history, culture, and stories of each area we visited. They helped bring each location to life and gave us insights we would never have discovered on our own.
One of the highlights of our trip was the incredible drivers assigned to us in each location. We often had the same driver for multiple days, which allowed us to build a real connection and get to know each other. We spent many hours with them each day, and they became so much more than transportation providers. They shared stories about their families, their culture, and their lives in Italy, making our experience feel authentic and personal. They were also wonderful guides in their own right, telling us about the history and traditions of the places we traveled through.
Our drivers and guides were always friendly, helpful, and willing to customize our days whenever possible. When we wanted to make changes during the trip or add more time to explore certain areas, Fabio was always available and quickly helped make those adjustments happen. His flexibility allowed us to see even more and enjoy our time without stress.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime anniversary trip, and KimKim helped make it truly unforgettable. We are so grateful to Fabio, our guides, and our drivers for creating such a memorable and personal Italian adventure. We would highly recommend KimKim to anyone looking for a thoughtfully planned and customized travel experience.

He took us to burial mounds, museums, and temples in Gyeongju and drove us to Busan, where we saw the fish market (possibly my wife's favorite event of the trip), Gamcheon Village, and markets and towers and the coast. On Jeju Island, we were escorted by Jimmie Koh, the son of a sea woman diver who took us to watch these remarkable people in action. Jimmie accommodated our challenges as 60-something tourists in leading us up 500 steps to the top of Sunrise Peak, and he catered to my background in geology by showing us the largest lava tube in the world and columnar basalts on the coast. Next, Jade Kim took us to Haeinsa Temple near Daegu. That was my favorite temple in South Korea, and Jade expertly described its importance in the history - and present practice - of Buddhism. All of our guides took us to amazing restaurants, and we felt that we sampled a lot of different cuisines by the end of the trip.

I was most impressed that Christine managed to weave our trip within the constraints of a separate itinerary that my student created. We were able to meet my student and his family at the beginning of the trip and to attend his spectacular wedding at the end, and the kimkim trip meshed perfectly with that. Most important, at every transfer, the kimkim drivers and guides were there to meet us, and Christine responded quickly to every email request.

Wow, just wow! My Husband and I travel quite a bit and are normally our own trip planners even when we go to other countries. This time we were visiting two countries in Europe, which was Switzerland and Austria, and I had just happened to come across kimkim.com and was tossing around the idea of using a travel specialist. I made an inquiry and was met with a very nice person Clemens! We decided after a few messages that we would just let him see what he could come up with for us and to our surprise, he had made a very detailed travel plan through both countries. And we had our initial video call and was quite impressed with his personality and his knowledge of both countries and how personal he was. He listened to what we were wanting and what was important to us and the plan was set into motion, so we hit the go button! Once we got our plan, we decided there was a couple of things we wanted to change, which was no problem. It didn’t feel like it was an aggravation for them. It just seemed that they were there to really, please us and give us a vacation worth remembering! about a week to 10 days before we left there was another video phone call to go through every last detail of our trip and everything was explained to me, and every minute detail from our pick up from the airport, to directions to bus stations times and train tickets, bus tickets, and when I mean, detailed, it was very detailed and step-by-step walk-through. It was quite lovely to have the app to refer to at any moment that we needed it. I downloaded the what’s app and could stay in connection with them at all times. There was only one hiccup in our plans which was one hotel that wasn’t already paid for when we were checking out and all I had to do is pick up the phone and call kimkim on WhatsApp and they immediately fixed the situation! And another time one of our trains was switched to a different train. I called. They immediately picked up and that was also fixed ASAP! As I said before, we have never used a travel agent or specialist and was a little bit nervous about doing it, but I after using kimkim will definitely be using them again! Your plans are light out before you like a well oiled machine! Clemens and his entire team were exceptional, professional, and very kind. If you have never like us, use a travel specialist before I highly recommend using them. I forgot to mention that we traveled first to Switzerland and then onto Austria! The stress that this team took away from me while traveling into these two countries was well worth the price which we thought was very reasonable. we were given suggestions on restaurants things to do. Tickets were put into motion and placed for us and it was just a seamless vacation! The beauty that we saw with the recommendations and the food that we ate was incredible! They will even give you suggestions on what to wear on these excursions! I cannot express to you, how pleased We were and are with this entire experience with this company. To Clemens and his team that were involved, thank you so much for helping us plan an incredible vacation!

Reading your words truly made my day. It was an absolute pleasure helping you and your husband plan your Switzerland and Austria adventure. From our very first conversation, it was clear that you both love to travel and appreciate authentic experiences, so creating a journey that matched your style was something I genuinely enjoyed.

I'm especially happy to hear that the planning process, the detailed itinerary, the pre-departure call, and our support during the trip helped make everything feel seamless and stress free. Even with the small hiccups along the way, our goal is always to be available when our travelers need us, and I'm glad we could resolve everything quickly.

Your comments about the hotels, the local experiences, and the connections you made along the way are exactly why we do what we do. Travel is about so much more than seeing places, it's about creating memories and meeting people who leave a lasting impression. It sounds like Vienna, especially, found a special place in your heart.

Thank you for trusting me and the entire Prime Tours team with your vacation. It means a great deal to hear that, as first time travelers using a travel specialist, you felt supported every step of the way.

I hope Switzerland and Austria are just the beginning of many more adventures together. Whenever you're ready for your next journey, I'll be delighted to help create another unforgettable experience.

Her choices of smaller boutique hotels (Ameron in Lucern, Eiger Mountain and Soul Resort in Grindlewald, Zermama in Zermatt, and Grand Hotel Suisse in Montreux) were perfect in terms of location, comfort and ambience. This was a previously scheduled trip that we had to postpone for medical reasons and she tweaked our itinerary to fit in a panoramic train ride, and give us an extra night in Montreux which we loved. Chlothilde always responded to our questions promptly and her wonderful directions for train travel allowed us to move around Switzerland between towns, travel to excursions, and move around on our own with confidence. Isabel was amazing! Our trip had no bumps, and she was very communicative throughout. She made sure to check on us every day, follow up after activities, and had recommendations outside of what she planned for us. It made the vacation extra relaxing because we didn't have to plan or worry about setting up transportation; we just simply showed up and enjoyed!

After attempting to book a vacation to Morocco ourselves, we realized that we were slightly out of our depth. Finding detailed information was hard, so we ended up contacting multiple travel organizations to get quotes and analyze their suggestions. One individual stood out among the rest - Majid. Majid was the most responsive tour planner we've ever encountered. He was quick to respond, and he always addressed the details or issues we had. We can't say enough good things about our trip - it was magical.

Speaking of being unable to say enough good things, we can't say enough good things about our driver and sometimes tour guide, Moha. He was incredibly detail-oriented, always flexible, and always put us ahead of his own interests. In fact, we can honestly say that his only concern was whether or not we were having a good time. From start to finish, he literally took care of everything. When we wanted to change something on a whim, he made it happen and never gave us any indication that it was not possible. And you never had to ask him for something twice - he always remembers. When we went to Merzouga, he was kind enough to show us the local market, and we even had the opportunity to have lunch with his family! It's those personal touches that make things so special. If you plan a trip to Morocco via Majid, ask for Moha - he's the kind of guide that makes you want to come back on vacation, so long as you get him again as your guide. And if you are lucky enough to get him as your guide, Inshallah, be sure to take his suggestions along the way based on the timing, weather, etc, as my wife and I said throughout the trip, "In Moha We Trust."

Finally, we would be remiss if we didn't mention some of the local guides that we met throughout our experience. This is another nice touch to what Majid plans and Moha organizes: a local guide who lives in the place you are touring. Nabil gave us the perfect introduction to Morocco in Rabat, providing us with a detailed, rich history of the country's capital. Abdou gave us a tour of the Roman City of Volubilis, highlighting its most important architectural features and mosaics (and kindly gave my wife his hat, which she still wears to shade her on a sunny day). Hakim masterfully navigated us through the maze-like medina in Fes on a historical and food tour, ending at a community oven where we had freshly baked Moroccan pizza. Finally, if you are lucky enough to have a stopover in Dades or the surrounding area, be sure to go on a long hike with Mohamed, a local who knows the area like the back of his hand, is impossibly kind, and loves his job.

This was a truly unforgettable experience, and thanks to all those involved!
