What an amazing, well-organized trip! Our 3 generational family, ages 3-76 spent 7 days exploring Snaefellsness & the Golden Circle. KimKim magically put together the perfect itinerary, made hotel and rental car arrangements & made many of the necessary reservations for some fun excursions. They built in flexibility too! Noga, Nick & Maria were all wonderful & stayed in touch throughout the trip. Kudos!

We began planning for this trip over a year before departure...and we quickly realized that we needed help. Kimkim to the rescue! We had never used a travel service like this before, and I was a little hesitant at first, but SPOILER ALERT...We will 100% be using Kimkim going forward! It is SO worth it to have a local guide help you with the logistics. We could not have planned the trip to this level without Gummi's help, and he truly made the process so easy. We are a family of 6 (4 kids including 2 teenagers) and we skew more towards the budget side of things than luxury when it comes to travel. Gummi took all of our preferences into consideration, plus all of our unique family needs (a large rental van that would fit us and all of our luggage, accommodations for 6 people to sleep on real beds, varying interests and ability levels) and he planned the PERFECT trip for us. Every single day, we told ourselves that it really couldn't get any better...and then IT DID! Gummi took care of everything...our locations for the places we stayed were perfect for our family, the excursions he planned for us were superb, and his detailed recommendations for where to eat and what to see were essential. We really could NOT have done this trip without him. Possibly the most valuable part of this service was Gummi's insider knowledge and tips on the timeline for each day...he outlined when to leave each morning and approximately how long to spend at each location. We would have been lost without him.

Here are some of the highlights of the trip...although really, we loved it ALLLL!

Foss Hotel Raodara' was a great location...easy to walk to everything in Reykjavik and they had triple rooms to accommodate our family (2 rooms for 6 people). The breakfast here (included) was SO filling and had a huge variety.

Perlan Museum in Reykjavik (outstanding way to start the trip to get familiar with the country and the unique features we were about to explore)

Puffin Tour with Elding--we saw tons of Puffins and the boat ride was beautiful!

Every single spot along the Golden Circle was more stunning than the last! And again, we loved having Gummi's timeline to follow as well as his recommendations for food!

We stopped at Efstidalur for lunch and ice cream and it was SO GOOD! Perfect location and timing for a stop for the hungry crew!

Secret Lagoon was so relaxing and unique for us. We loved it!

Bakki Apartments was perfect for our family! Plenty of space and such a great location. We stopped at GK Bakari for breakfast and those pastries will live on in my brain forever. We even tried to stop back in on our way back to Keflavik but it was closed...heartbreaking!

Glacier Ice Cave experience with Southcoast Adventure really was a thrill for the kids! (I *might* have been a little scared on this, but I tried to be the coolest mom!) Peter, our guide, was so great at explaining the history and the geology while also taking us on a true adventure!

The Vik Apartments were another perfect location and space for our family. So clean, and beautiful, and spacious!

Black Crust Pizza was definitely a favorite and they deserve all the respect for being the best pizza in Iceland...as fas as we know!

Again...the trip plan, including specific timing and food recommendations, came in clutch for the trip from Vik up the coast to Jokulsarlon Glacier. We loved every single stop! The amphibian boat tour by Glacier Lagoon was incredible.

Of course, our finale was a visit to the Blue Lagoon. AMAZING! The comfort entrance package was perfect for us.

I could go on and on, but I've probably already said too much. We cannot thank Gummi enough for sharing his expertise, his love of Iceland, and his time and energy with us! THANK YOU, GUMMI!

My husband and I had a great time on our trip planned with us by KimKim!
Diana did an excellent job listening to what we wanted and made sure everything went as planned. She booked us amazing hotels and sites to visit. Everything was interesting, comfortable and delicious (loved the suggested restaurants. Our guides were interesting and knowledgeable.
I was a wonderful trip- we will definitely use KimKim again!

Guðmundur Óli was enthusiastic and great to work with. He responded quickly to enquiries and obviously knew Iceland very well. This was our second time using a guide through KimKim and both times we have been very pleased.

We had a truly wonderful trip. Our trip planner, Eric was fantastic with getting us set up on the excursions we wanted to go on and they were all fantastic. The zodiac boat tour was a favorite for the whole family but there wasn’t one thing we did that everyone didn’t enjoy.

Our favorite hotel was Magma Hotel. It was one of those “wow” moments where we were so grateful we had book through KimKim because it’s not a place we would have found on our own. The same was true for the other places we stayed.

One of the best location suggestions we got was Stykkishólmur. We absolutely loved the quaint authentic Icelandic town with all its simple beauty. And we had what our kids said was the best dinner they had ever had in their whole life in that town. It was Sjavarpakkhusid by the water. They had 4 entre dishes on the entire menu and perfection was an understatement. The dessert was equally as impressive. We will never forget that town and our favorite restaurant.

The only problem with the trip is that we couldn’t possibly see everything we would have wanted to see in the 8 days we had. A truly epic trip.

This was my second trip using KimKim but my partner’s first one. He was blown away and I believe he is a new believer in using KimKim rather than doing all of his own trip planning. Truly wonderful experience from start to finish. Thank you, Eric!

Eric and the kimkim team did an amazing job planning our Iceland trip. They were always available and answered questions thoroughly and complete. Not only where they fabulous in the planning stages, but they also were there for us when we needed them in Iceland to make changes or to adjust parts of our trip. We had an amazing trip to Portual in July 2026, thanks to Diana and the Across Portugal team! They put together an amazing 16 day trip that took us across the country from Lisbon to Porto and the Algarve. The itinerary was specifically tailored to our family of four (including our 8yo and 12yo), and included activities that appeal to both the adults and kids. I appreciated how there was a mix of guided tours, while also giving us some time to explore on our own. All of the booked accomodations were very comfortable.
What I appreciated the most was how attentive Diana and her team were while we were on our trip. We could easily contact the team to ask questions, and they responded back very quickly. They were very accomodating of our requests. And best of all was the very personalized gift that they provided to us when we arrived in Portugal.
Overall, this was an amazing trip curated by Diana and Across Portugal, and would highly recommend them for anyone planning a trip to this amazing country.

Hotel was very spacious and comfortably accomodated our family of four. Really liked how it was close to hiking trails and had 2 big pools for our family to choose from. The kids especially appreciated the pool that had sand to mimic the beach. The decor felt a little bit gaudy / overdone. Also, if you're looking to be closer to the beaches or to the main town, may not be the best location as it requires a drive. Least favorite part of this hotel was the food and service at the restaurant. We had a buffet dinner the first night, and the food was not very good and overpriced. Staff also during dinner were not particularly friendly. Buffet breakfast was decent, but again, I would have expected more from such a nice hotel and for the price.

Hotel staff were generally very nice. However, the staff and the main restaurant were not very friendly. (The staff at the italian restaurant near the pool however were excellent). Also, the food at the main restaurant / buffet was not very good, especially for a 5 star hotel

Favorite hotel during our stay! Plenty of space for a family of four. Very nice accomodations. Centrally located, easy to walk to many of the main tourist attractions. Also close to many restaurants. One complaint though around safety. One of the tiles on the wall next to the bathtub fell off the wall during our stay. Fortunately, no one was in the bathtub at the time, however, it could have been a major issue as our kids were often using the bathtub and could have led to a serious injury. Appreciated how they had onsite breakfast

Location is great, especially for first time in Lisbon. Right in the heart of Biaxa. Very walkable to many main attractions. Lots of space for a family of 4. Highly recommend! Just a note, may be challenging for people with limited mobility, as there is only 1 very skinny elevator servicing the building.

Great experience with a local guide! Ricardo was really good at taking this at the pace we needed for our family. Very knowledable tour guide. Appreciated the individualized attention. Suggest you confirm which palaces you will be going to. We visited the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira which were both great. Kids especially liked Auinta da Regaleira since they were able to run around the grounds and do more exploring and it didn't feel as crowded as Pena Palace. Just make note though that we did not get to visit the Moorish Castle, National Palace or Mosserate Palace - we were ok with that, but just need to make sure you're ok with not seeing those as well.

The Port here also was not as good as what we had in the Douro valley. If you're not going to the Duoro valley, then I would recommend. If you are going to Duoro valley, you can skip this.

The zodiac boat ride in the lagoon was cancelled due to extreme wind conditions. We loved Diamond Beach. It was very different from what we are used to and the floating icebergs were beautiful. We also saw a sea lion!

Overall trip was incredible!
Everything that kimkim helped me with was wonderful. The only this is the shuttle from airport. They give you 1hr to show up but we all know that unboarding a big plane and going thru all the checks is at least 1.5hrs. So our private shuttle left the airport. I’m not sure how much money that was wasted on us but I was kinda sad about that part.

Our travel agents that were in country did a fabulous job, we had many transfers and many flights throughout three different countries and everything was planned and booked to precise excellence. Janneke and Anna Marie did an exceptional job, I could not ask anymore of them. We had the most fabulous trip throughout South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Thanks again for a wonderful trip.
PS. I would recommend them for any trip into Africa.

Our trip that Jimina helped us plan was incredible, well thought out, and supported our style and pace while traveling with our child.
- We adored Blanca's food tour in Lima and learned so much from her while taking in the sights and delicious food. We truly felt like she found us the best spots and also chose locations that were welcoming to our little one.
- Wilson was our guide for Machu Picchu and he was so upbeat and spirited, filled with knowledge, and so kind and supportive.
- The pottery class in the Sacred Valley was lovely and a family favorite activity.
- Visiting the Misminay community felt special and intimate.
- Another favorite activity was Piuray Lake; Carolina was one of the kindest people we met and while boating and paddle boarding was great, the meal and sitting by the lake painting the bulls is something we all remarked how enjoyable it was. In fact, my husband and I commented how lucky we are to be traveling with a little one because we're not sure we would've done that part of the activity otherwise. At one point, our little one ran off and went back to painting her bull while we sat and talked over our meal and drinks. It was perfection!
- My daughter tells everyone that her favorite activity was the horseback riding. We are SO thankful to Javier and his guys for helping make this happen.

Above all else, we could not be more thrilled with Guido and Christian. They were both incredible!
Guido went above and beyond for us, was so knowledgeable and passionate, and truly became a friend on this journey. While everyone was incredible, I'm not sure that our experience would've been quite the same without him. He is a gem and I'd recommend him to friends and family without reservation!

Most memorsble guide was the bus driver on volcano/puffin tour on Westman, driver of TukTuk in Reyk., and 18 yr old french farm girl who led our horse ridr at Geysir Hestar. Favorite restaurant was English Cove in Bognares. Accomodations Helgafell farm cottage and guest house on Westman and Uthlid. Every waterfall was spectacular. South Coast, Westman and Snaefellsnes Peninsula were liked better than Golden Circle cause of crowds . Favorite museums Perla and Memorial Museum on Westman. Zodiac tour in Jokulsarlon awesome. Friedheimar unique. Krauma Baths terrific. Spectacular back road from Bognares to Stykkisholmur we discovered by making a wrong turn.

Working with Karol, Lisa, and Clemens was such a pleasure! They helped us plan an amazing 8-day trip through Switzerland, perfect for myself, my wife, and our two young kids. The planning was spot-on, and the directions they provided were crystal clear and extremely detailed. From times and which platform to show up on. They were spot on! They really took the time to chat with me about my ideas and came up with a fantastic plan that perfectly met my goals. The routes they suggested and the directions for things to see were perfect. The hotel recommendations were great and perfectly located. I had some trepidation about some of the hotel recommendations, but I must admit, Clemens and team were 100% correct with their recommendations. The hotels were perfect! Lisa and team were always easy to reach with any questions we had during the trip. Without a doubt, Clemens and the team, along with Kimkim, delivered again. This was our fifth trip with Kimkim, and each time they provide us with wonderful advisors that make for unforgettable trips. I’m already looking forward to booking my next adventure with Kimkim, and more importantly, our next trip through Switzerland and Austria with Clemens and the team!

Another fantastic recommendation from Clemens and the team! We absolutely loved this hotel and would happily stay here again. It was incredibly family-friendly, and our kids had a blast. The pool was a huge hit, and the arcade machine in the room was such a fun and unexpected touch. The bunk beds were another favorite—they made the stay extra special for our kids. The rooms were spacious and worked perfectly for our family of four. The views were absolutely stunning, and Wengen itself is such a charming town. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. The only minor drawback was that there isn't air conditioning, so it was a bit warm during our summer visit. Fortunately, the hotel provided fans, which helped make it somewhat comfortable. Overall, this was a wonderful stay, and we'd love to come back in the winter to experience Wengen in a completely different season!

The Lubo Self- Check-in

This is a modern apartment-style stay where everything—from check-in to guest services—is handled online, so there isn't a traditional front desk. I was a little hesitant about that at first, but it ended up being an awesome experience. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of everything—and the restaurant/bar downstairs was a huge bonus. We enjoyed several great breakfasts and excellent coffee there, and it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. The property has a fun, hip, and modern vibe with lots of character, which made it feel unique compared to a standard hotel. The only downside was that the A/C struggled a bit during the extreme heat we experienced, but it wasn't enough to take away from an otherwise excellent stay. A special shoutout to Clemens and the team—they absolutely knocked it out of the park with this recommendation!

🏙️ Private Zürich City Tour: History, Culture & Local Life

This was a fantastic tour and a great way to experience Zurich beyond the modern city center. It introduced us to the historic parts of the city and helped us appreciate Zurich's rich history in a way we definitely would have missed on our own. Without this tour, I think our impression of Zurich would have been that it was just another modern city. Instead, we came away with a much deeper understanding of the city's character, its history, and even Swiss culture as a whole. One of the best parts of the experience was having a knowledgeable local guide. It was wonderful to be able to ask questions about what it's really like to live in Zurich and Switzerland. Those personal insights made the tour feel authentic and memorable.

This was an amazing travel day, and everything was perfectly arranged by Clemens and the team. The train ride was smooth, scenic, and one of the highlights of our trip. The luggage transfer service was absolutely worth it. It was so nice to relax on the train without having to worry about hauling our suitcases from place to place. We traveled with just two small backpacks, and our luggage was waiting for us when we arrived at our destination. It made the entire journey so much more enjoyable. A big thank you to Clemens for recommending this service! The boat ride on Lake Brienz was absolutely beautiful and the perfect complement to the train journey. Between the stunning scenery and the stress-free travel, this route exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend this itinerary to anyone planning a trip to Switzerland!

Absolutely amazing experience, truly. One of those trips where we wish we had an extra day in each city!

Flam was our favorite, and I'm really happy Kadri recommended staying there. Most people just do a day trip I realize, and they are missing out. The flaoting sauna was the biggest hit. We all loved the zipline but loved the bike ride back even more.

Voss was a fantastic experience. The team at Outdoor Norway was amazing. Mohan was a great guide. We saw one of the employees later at a park and he even helped teach the kids some parkour moves! I wish I remembered his name, all I know is that he is from Spain.

Bergen is a beatiful city. Maria was a great guide, made it fun even in the rain!

Kadri's team was exceptional. Quick responses. Easy set up. Everything was at our fingertips and instruction were crystal clear. I didn't have to worry about a thing!

We had the most amazing trip in Bhutan!

This was our first experience with a guide service. Previously we had planned our own excursions. The KimKim model is interesting and attractive: they offer a catalogue of possible activities, based on prior positive traveler experiences-- you are free to pick and choose among alternatives (or add your own). Given your interests, budget and time constraints, KimKim plans a customized trip itinerary. We found this met our needs to perfection!

We found KimKim's approach to financial disclosure to be opaque and frustrating. Since we could not 'price' individual activities, it made price/value choices more difficult and frustrating. Additionally, the service was expensive. When we became too ill to travel 10 days before our trip in 2025, we had good reason to reconsider our financial frustrations--KimKim took care of everything! They cancelled all our bookings and gave us a 100% credit. This year they rebooked our trip consistent with our new travel dates.

Our 10 day trip around Iceland's 850 mile Ring Road was a total delight! Our 'virtual guide', Gudmundur (Gummi) Oli, provided us with a detailed daily itinerary including travel distance/travel time, points of interest/activities, and a recommendation of how long to spend at each location in order to keep the day manageable. Gummi's planning was so meticulous that we had very few questions, but we found him available in a matter of minutes by phone or WhatsApp and it was clear he took a keen personal interest in making sure we had a wonderful trip. We did! His dining recommendations at the end of each day resulted in some of the best meals we have had in decades of international travel!

We would highly recommend KimKim to travelers who want the freedom of an independent vacation without the burden of pre-trip research and logistics planning. Each day of whale watching, ice caving, whitewater rafting, and more unfolded without a glich! It was a vacation we will treasure for a lifetime!

Judy was amazing and very responsive. She helped with some last minute emergency changes and was way ahead of me without needing to be asked. 100% would work with her again!

Nick was very responsive and did a great job providing us with an itinerary and multiple options as we changed our dates. He landed us in solid places and we had a wonderful trip! The only bit of feedback is that it took a few days after we paid/confirmed for the final bookings to get made which made me a little nervous.
