The guesthouse made a great home base for our time in Grimsey. The rooms were small but comfortable. We had a cool view of the dock as a fisherman offloaded his catch of fish. You can bring food and prepare it in the guesthouse kitchen or eat at the restaurant nearby. The restaurant was very good. Just be aware, if you need groceries, the grocer is only open for a few hours each day and, as you can imagine, has limited options. Grimsey is a special place. It is absolutely worth it to stay a night or two!

Very nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious. The onsite hotel was top notch.

It was so neat to be able to stay on a working farm. The owner, Mangus, was friendly and happy to show us around the horse stable. We loved getting to watch the mom and baby horses grazing in the pasture near the house. The rooms are comfortable and clean with an amazing view!

The staff was very helpful and hospitable. We stayed two nights during the halfway point of our trip and were able to use their laundry service (2 night stay is required). The rooms were very nice. They felt more like an American hotel due to the larger size, bathtub, and having several electrical outlets throughout the room. The restaurant on site is very good with a large selection including a buffet option that includes traditional Icelandic foods like lamb stew and fermented shark.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent. They also have a free parking garage for guests. We really appreciated not having to worry about finding and paying for overnight parking.

The hotel is very nice. It's probably the fanciest hotel we stayed at in Iceland. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast was good. However, since it's right off of the main street, it can be very loud in the evening with events going on or people enjoying themselves outside. We stayed two nights and there was a good amount of noise both nights when we were trying to sleep. Our room on the east side of the hotel also got quite warm in the morning with the sun streaming in.

This was one of my favorite places to stay in Iceland. It's tucked away in the countryside of a small town. Right outside of our cabin, we had a view of a small stream with several birds. Just beyond that was a field with grazing horses. Even though there are 8 cabins bunched together, it was so quiet and peaceful.

We had a great stay at Hotel Laugarvatn. It's a easy drive from Thingvellir National Park, Geyser, and Gullfoss. We ate dinner at Lindin (so good!) and walked down to the lake by the geothermal baths to see the steaming sand where they bury and bake the geyser bread. Very cool area!

The lava cave tour was very interesting. The guide did a great job of explaining how the cave was formed, the different colors of the rocks, and the viking lore of trolls living in the peninsula.

The lava show was so good! It was incredible to see the lava flow and watch how it quickly changed form. Feeling the heat in the room change as the lava flowed down really put into perspective how hot the lava is. The narrator was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about the geology and nature of lava.

The Into the Glacier tour was an incredible, unique experience. The transportation and transfer process was smooth. The guide when we got to the glacier was very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts about the glacier and about Icelandic history and culture. We were able to take our time looking around and taking pictures, inside and outside the cave. It didn't feel rushed at all. Just enjoyable.

This boutique hotel was such a nice spot. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were unique with plenty of room. It was very comfortable and the location was great.

Macchu Picchu town was so fun! The El Mapi was a very nice hotel right in the middle of town with plenty of shops and restaurants to explore. The staff was very welcoming and both dinner and breakfast were very good.

This hotel was a fun surprise. Although hidden from the main road, as you drive up its a little garden oasis. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The staff was nice and helpful.

We had a great time at the Explorer's Inn. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The lodge was a nice place to relax. The food was delicious and the staff were all friendly and helpful. We loved the boat ride to get to the Inn. Our guide Raul kept us busy exploring the rainforest and the surrounding area. Everything was well planned and organized.

The location in Miraflores was perfect. We were able to walk and explore. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good .

6 stars if I could. Beautiful grounds, fantastic food on site(breakfast buffet and restaurant), walkable to restaurants and a couple shops, friendly staff. Everything was above and beyond. Amazing views everywhere. Covered hot tub and pool so can be enjoyed when raining. Free marshmallows for the fire pit. Fun disco bathroom. I could go on and on. Whole family loved this place.

AC in rooms only works with a key that is welded to the room key so it can only be used while you’re in the room and it takes a good hour to cool down when you get back to the room - and that’s with all the fans on. I’m all for conserving energy but even keeping the room at 85° while we were out would have been wonderful to keep the humidity down and allow clothes/swimsuits to dry. The bathroom is never air conditioned. Imagine having an upset stomach in a humid 90° bathroom. Balcony and views were fantastic though and monkeys were everywhere which was fun. Food on the premises was just OK and expensive. Need to call a shuttle to get anywhere on the property or walk up hill on dangerous roads a distance. Staff was friendly and room was clean .

Friendly staff, great breakfast, clean rooms, fun hot springs pools, waterslide fun for kids. Ambiance was beautiful. Wish we could walk to other restaurants and shopping but that has nothing to do with the hotel, it’s common for the area I think. Uber was easy to use .

Guide was amazing-he gauged the kind of experience we wanted and tailored the trip to that. For instance, we were more adventurous than the other raft that went with us so our guide made sure to get us fully in the rapids where the other guide was a little more subdued. Guide was very safe and knew the river well. No one fell out unless we wanted to. It was the perfect amount of heart-racing fun. Great pics to buy at the end for $40USD so no need for a waterproof camera. Lunch was typical Costa Rican fare at the end.

Guide brought a Swarovski spotting scope and took pictures through it and shared them with us. It allowed us to really see animals close up. It was crowded compared to other “hikes” we did on the trip.

Expected the zip lining to be cool but didn’t expect the beautiful nature walk through the hanging bridges. Guide was so sweet and knowledgeable and truly loved this land. Our family of 4 (2 adult kids)had a fantastic time.

Absolutely beautiful hike with 2 waterfalls and lush scenery. Guide was great and took pictures to share with us afterward. Overall our family of 4 (2 adult kids) had a great time and consider it our favorite hike of our trip. Lunch was great as well.

This place was great - it’s an eco lodge in the jungle and they have done a great job laying on the activities and meals and providing airy accommodation. They do need to make sure the torches they provide work better than the ones we had, which were not good enough for the night walk we went on. We changed to our phone torches instead, and even those aren’t that strong.

This is another well located hotel in the heart of Cusco, with a lovely courtyard. Strangely you had to walk through the restaurant to reach the rooms, which made the restaurant feel a bit like a corridor. The rooms were spacious, but did not feel quite as lovely as the ones we’d already had at the hotels in Colca and the Sacred Valley. It’s inevitable when you stay in a number of hotels during a trip that some feel a bit more special than others. This place was good, but we’d already been spoiled by the hotels just before!

This place was stunning! We could have easily stayed here longer, everything about it was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable, the gardens were beautiful, the location and surrounding scenery was great. The bar and restaurants were also very good - we had one of the best pisco sours of the trip here!

This hotel is in a great central location and is quite charming. Our room had a bath sunk in the floor in the room, which actually seemed a bit of a hazard, especially if you get up to use the toilet in the middle of the night. The other element of this hotel which slightly disappointed us was the way the breakfast buffet was laid out in the courtyard - it was very cold first thing in the morning so everything was freezing to touch, particularly the plates, so all food ended up very cold

We were only here for one night to visit Machu Picchu, but it was an extremely nice hotel and we had amazing views from the window over the river

Beautiful hotel with a tranquil spa. We also enjoyed the scenic grounds and seeing the humming birds, parakeets and alpacas in the gardens. The element that could be improved is the restaurant used for evening meals as it felt rather large and lacking in character and atmosphere

Seeing Machu Picchu was incredible. We were blessed with a beautiful clear day with blue skies and sunshine and it all looked amazing. Our guide was brilliant, he told us so much and he was great at taking photos and videos of us!

Grizzy the guide was amazingly helpful. Of all the guides I have had in managing small and large groups, She is one of the best!

We wound up staying in one of their cottages versus the hotel itself. The cottage was good. It was 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms.

I've never ridden an e bike. It was pretty easy if you know how to ride a bike in general. It was like someone giving you a gentle push. The tour guide, Sergio, was great and easy to keep up with

I like Michelle. The tour was informational and pretty easy walking with lots of stops.

The smell in the hallways was awful. For several nights it smelled like a sewage pipe had broken. The walls are super thin. You could hear everything at night and during the day. The cleaning staff was obnoxiously loud -screaming and shouting at each other as they cleaned the rooms: Slamming doors at all hours of the day and night. You really get what you pay for - but in this case even less.

Great, good breakfast, a bit loud at night, right in front of night club.

A few things you need to know before heading to the island. 1. If you are staying there you arrive at 9 in the morning and can’t get into your room until 3. 2. They cut off power for 2-3 hours every day in the afternoon. 3. They have a big menu but quite a few items are not available. 4. The trip back in the afternoon was rough seas and many people on our boat were vomiting. 5. DO NOT spend the money on the snorkel trip, some fish, dead coral, very underwhelming . Snorkel around the island, we saw some cool stuff though the coral was not good. 6. There is no AC so if you need a break from the heat just know this ahead of time. As an aside my husband and I both had some GI upset that sidelined us for 12 hours. Our group would have chosen and extra day in Cartagena rather than this excursion. I will say the people/employees of the island were nice and attentive to their guests. The area was clean as could be as there are limitations to cleaning on a small island.

We enjoyed Hakone! We spent our afternoon at the open air museum, which was incredible. The stay at our hotel springs hotel was very unique and special: the location, the room, the hot springs, and the meals were all lovely.

Rio was a lovely guide. She was pleasant and gave us a lovely experience to take in a food experience at a slower pace and truly relax and enjoy foods.

This was so special. We learned so much and loved making matcha for each other. Our instructor was so patient with us as we learned and helped us understand and gave us a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Tom was an enthusiastic and informative guide. We saw interesting sites and he helped guide us and teach us in the best ways. He took the time to understand our knowledge and interests and adapted to make sure he was giving us the best experience. Highly recommend!

Hana was an amazing guide! This tour is a must-do. We learned so much from her, she set a pace and covered a manageable amount of activities. She helped us find the best and most local foods to sample at the market. This trip was fantastic!

Nothing to mention about this hotel. It’s just a place to get some sleep before heading to Macchu Pichu. Our room was above train tracks, noisy, hot, no air conditioning. Bathroom are not properly ventilated so they smell moldy.

This hotel was amazing ! Grounds are beautiful full of trees and flowers! Staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Great customer service and frendly staff, Coleen and Sector were our hosts. Thank you for helping our son with his altitude sickness.

Hotel location is spot on, in the center of the city, very walkable. However hotel is an old building, our room had no windows, heating is not great so it gets chilly.

Felix knows his history and brought the art alive with his stories. Def worth having a guide.

The location of this hotel was excellent, they were very accommodating, and the accommodations were good.

Aggie was the owner and operator of this B&B and it was phenomenal. She poured her heart into homemade jams and breakfast even had cookies when we arrived. Our grandson's view was of the castle, and our view was of the Loire river. Spectacular. If we return, we will definitely stay here.

We were told that we couldn't stay in the castle and that the apartment would be our best option. While there was no breakfast being served, they did have jams and cereal and milk and juice in the refrigerator. This morning, they brought by bread and a breakfast roll. That was very special. We weren't able to secure the two back doors, which was a disappointment, nor were we able to contact the office staff directly because no one would answer the phone. The location was excellent. The accommodations were fair.

OK, she was excellent, not far from all activities. Very clean and modest. Met our needs perfectly.

It was a perfect choice for us. We like to be at the airport the night prior to departure. It was a short walk to the international terminal.

The hotel was in a great location. The staff- friendly, professional and helpful. It was clean and met our needs. There were many tour groups with us at the hotel. A more elegant, boutique-type hotel would have been our preference. Breakfast and dinner were provided. The breakfast was excellent and the dinner- we did not realize was part of the package so a bonus. It was a buffet and nothing exceptional, but it served its purpose well.

The tour guide was genuine and passionate about Bergen. The tour was food and culture, but we expected more history of the area as we walked. The fish market and small restaurants on the tour were great, and the selection of food tastings- excellent. Restaurant in the Fish Market that tour guide recommended and it was excellent: Fjellskal

It is a great view of the city at the top! We did not eat at the restaurant at the top but we heard good things about the quality.

We enjoyed our self-guided exploration. We walked up to the summit of Mount Floyd and rode the funicular (known as the Floibanen) down. We also walked around Bryggen, the wharf and the fish market and ended the morning with a hotdog from Hungry Dog.

Norway in a Nutshell Sogenfjord Route: Ferry and train rides from Bergen to Oslo Central Station was stunning and an absolute must! It is a very long day. We wish we would have broken up into 2 days and stayed one night along the way- perhaps at Balestrand or Flam. Flam was very busy with many tourists and cruise ships The Flam train- definitely plan to sit on right side for the views. There are also no reserved seats so get in line early. The Kjosfossen Waterfall- beautiful and definitely worth getting off train to see. Bike riding from Myrdal to Flam would have been a fun activity to include. While visiting Flam, there is luggage storage at the tourist center. The train ride from Myrdal to Oslo- very enjoyable and loved the views along the way. Driver from train station to Oslo airport- professional and enjoyed the conversation.

It was a long day, and we should have researched more. We only had 3 1/2 hours in Rosendale. The tours of the barony and garden did not line up with our time there- we had to select one. There was not enough time to visit the church or to take a hike to the waterfall. Next time, I would plan to spend the night in one of the lovely hotels available. I would also want to explore the National Park. And if time was a concern, I would skip this activity and spend an extra day on the Sogneford Route.
