What an incredible experience! As a first-time female solo traveler in Asia, I couldn’t have asked for a smoother, more enjoyable trip. The Kimkim team was fantastic, and a huge shoutout to Leny, my amazing Kimkim agent, who was always just a message away with helpful insights, restaurant suggestions, and even quick itinerary tweaks while I was in Japan. Truly a godsend!
My journey took me through Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Takayama, Kanazawa, and back to Tokyo over the span of two weeks. The big cities were so much fun to explore—especially with the thoughtfully chosen hotels that made each stay comfortable and convenient. The smaller towns gave me a completely different perspective on Japanese culture that I never would have discovered on my own.
Every hotel was excellent, the food was out of this world, and the tours were exactly what I hoped for—most ended up being private, which made everything feel so personal. The tour guides were incredible and really brought each destination to life.
If you’re a female solo traveler wondering if this is doable—it absolutely is! Kimkim made it stress-free and enjoyable from start to finish. 10/10 would recommend, and I’m already planning my next trip to Japan!

Authentic Sumo Experience in Tokyo with Chanko-nabe Lunch

Wow, wow, wow—this experience was absolutely amazing! Learning about sumo wrestling directly from retired sumos was unforgettable, and then having them cook a delicious lunch for us? How cool is that! The sumos were hilarious, passionate, and so eager to share the history and culture of the sport. After the meal, we even practiced and had a match in the ring with them—which was hysterical fun and such a unique memory. 10/10 recommend, especially because our tour guide, Mayu, was so personable and an excellent translator, making the whole experience seamless and enjoyable.

I can’t rave enough about this Tea Ceremony experience! The women running the tea house were incredibly kind and generous with their time. What was supposed to be a 30-minute visit turned into an hour and a half of conversation, laughter, and exchanging stories with the staff. This was truly the highlight of my entire trip—an authentic, heartfelt experience that I’ll never forget. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate. I recommend it 100%!

Hakone is a beautiful and fun destination, but I realized that traditional ryokans aren’t for me. While the experience is unique and deeply rooted in Japanese culture—complete with traditional clothing and footwear—I personally found it a bit uncomfortable. For travelers who want an authentic cultural stay, I highly recommend trying a ryokan at least once. However, if you prefer familiar comforts, this experience might push you out of your comfort zone and could feel a little stressful. The site itself was amazing and the staff incredibly attentive.

As a huge Studio Ghibli fan, visiting the museum was an absolute dream come true. My tour guide, Michico, was incredible—so knowledgeable and passionate, and it made the experience even more special knowing she was a fellow Ghibli fan. She was truly a highlight of the trip! The museum itself is something beyond words—magical, whimsical, and full of surprises. It’s a must-visit for any Ghibli lover. I spent hours exploring, letting my inner child lead the way, and loved every minute of it.

This is my 4th trip with Kim Kim and have loved everyone of them. I thought Truly Swahili to be fantastic. All their drivers and guide were outstanding. Duncan our driver in Amboseli was incredible and went out of his way to give us an amazing experience in Kenya. Anthony had a tough act to follow because Duncan was so amazing but he held his own.
In Tanzania, Kaka and Simba went out of their way to make sure we completed the 5 and made us laugh tons. The professionalism and customer care of the truly Swahili team showed all the way to the end when Irenemical came to say hello and good buy on our last day.
Highly recommend the whole team from planners to guides and driver!!

Everything was well organized as planned based upon my specific requirements. My guide Amira was very knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable.

Booking with KimKim was the right decision. This is one of the most stress-free trips we have ever taken. All the annoying logistics, lodging, drivers, guides, and excursions were handled by KimKim and transitions were seamless. We simply provided our budget and a rough idea of what we wanted to see. This saved me hours and hours of planning time which I definitely did not have.
Our two main guides were Julio and Willy. Both were friendly, knowledgeable, professional and willing to take on the burden of working out a few kinks in our itinerary (I changed my mind about an excursion and Julio handled it perfectly).
We especially loved the walking food tour in Barranca, the wonderful breakfasts at the hotels, all our lodgings (in Cuzco, Sacred Valley, and Puno) were top notch, the Moray salt ponds and archaeological park, Ollantaytambo, the floating reed island (clearly geared toward tourists but the family was so sweet I’ll cut the experience some slack), visiting with Lupe and her home stay on the Lake Titicaca’s Laquina Peninsula and of course the Inca Trail and Macchu Picchu were life changing.

A few suggestions:
1. Warn clients in advance that the customs line arriving in Lima can be very long and do not stop at the bathroom for several minutes upon arrival while 100’s of other travelers stream by. We probably added an hour to our 2 hour wait because we had no clue the customs cue came before baggage claim.
2. A 1-week heads up that 2nd payment is due. Even the most organized people need a warning. I was caught off guard.
3. I wish there was an option to pay tips in advance?
4. Not sure about the camelid farm. It was great to see and learn about all the various Andean camelids but afterwards we felt uncomfortable and pressured being the only two people ushered into the high end store with 5 employees hovering and watching our every move. It was obvious they expected us to purchase goods, but this is one time I wish there had been more tourists.

Chimu Floating Island and Luquina Community Homestay

The floating reef island experience clearly catered to tourists but it was such an unusual place to call home and the family so sweet and willing to welcome us that I deem this experience worthwhile. We loved meeting Lupe and her little niece and daughter. She works so hard, we were happy to help chop vegetables in the kitchen for meals. We also helped till part of a potatoe field and bring the sheep down to graze, and we helped bring lunch to the kindergarten class. A truly immersive, slice of life experience for us.

Coraima planned a wonderful trip for us. She found a couple tours we wouldn't have discovered on our own, and the hotel she selected for us in Seville was exceptional. The app was very easy to use, especially when navigating to meeting points with Google Maps. The one small hiccup during the trip (not due to the trip plan) was resolved quickly and effortlessly.

We travel a lot, and the more we travel, the more we get particular about what we like and want our vacations to be. On our trip to Croatia and Slovenia, it was as if Ivan and Sarah could read our minds. From every excursion to every driver, we were so delighted by the experience as much as the staff. You can tell a lot about people, by the people and vendors they choose to work with and based on this trip, I can tell that they are amazing humans, never mind great travel agents. Their responsiveness during planning was outdone by their responsiveness during the trip, when you really need it the most! We felt like we could ask them anything at any time and they would reply so quickly and help us with anything we needed. We are so lucky to have found Michelle! We had the most incredible trip to New Zealand and everything was perfect. We had beautiful hotels, fun activities, and lots of support along the way. The Queenstown Park Boutique Hotel, Fiordland Lodge, and Lakestone Lodge were the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in and the shotover jet in Queenstown, glow worms in Te Anu, and cruise on the Milford Sound were fabulous once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I booked this trip to Brazil to get rid of all my worries, so I REALLY wanted a trip with zero headaches whatsoever. Rachel delivered on every front! I had two amazing weeks. Rio, Paraty and Ilha Grande were the perfect cocktail (or should I say, caipirinha) for distraction of the relaxed kind. She listened to all my requests, was very reasonable in discussing the price point. I ended up not needing her while I was away because everything went so smoothly! Would 100% recommend visiting Brazil and I'm sure Rachel will be of great help!

To be fair, I did this to myself; I insisted on getting the bus instead of going on a motorcycle. The bus took a while.

I had an absolutely wonderful trip to Belize, and I can’t say enough about how seamless and enjoyable it was! Traveling with my teen son can sometimes be stressful, but this trip was completely worry-free thanks to our amazing local specialist, Alex. From start to finish, he thought of every detail and made sure everything ran smoothly.

The hotels he selected were perfect. Each one had its own charm and made our stay incredibly relaxing. The activities Alex recommended were engaging, fun, and perfectly suited for both of us. It was such a gift to be able to enjoy every moment with my son, knowing that everything was taken care of.

This trip exceeded my expectations, and I can’t imagine a better way to experience Belize. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alex’s planning expertise to anyone looking for a stress-free, memorable vacation in a beautiful country!

Overall we give this trip 5 stars. The arrangement with private chauffeur and guides was superior to any group tours we encountered during the 5 days. We will recommend KimKim, Active India, and others for travel in India. We found this tour to be perfect for us, but could be physically challenging for the average tourist.

Arrival in Deli was relatively stress free. Our guide was welcoming and patient. LaLit hotel excellent accommodations and an excellent restaurant for both breakfast and supper. Our soft-spoken driver for that first free day was helpful with New Deli sights.

Mr. Sing our driver for the entire week was awesome, keeping us safe and secure. 5 stars for him too.

Day 1 Guide was very very good with superb english and encyclopedic knowledge. Highlights were Rickshaw ride, the Six temple, and th Gahndi Memorial, Humans Tomb. We did not see Red Fort or Lotus Temple.

Day 2 & 3 The new guide was equally awesome. Highlights were the Agrta Fort and, of course, the Taj Mahal both after noon from across the river and sunrise in the Taj Mahal. We enjoyed the bazaar and the roads surrounding Agra which had an incredible number of wedding venues with human drawn carriages and camel drawn carriages.
Chand Baori step well was the #2 most amazing site that we visited (#1 was Taj Mahal). The guide at Chand
Baori was mediocre (not bad) probably frustrated that we did not speak his native language. We make out OK.

Day 4 & 5 Guide was marvelous. Highlights were Amer Fort and Sheesh Mahal.

We appreciated the shopping opportunities and the lunching restaurants. All of the hotels were great.

Our trip to Germany was great, and Lucie made it easy to plan. We started with several tours. The Apple Wine tour was interesting, but I was expecting to sample some Apple Wine tour. It was more of a historical wine tour than a wine tour with tasting, so I was disappointed about that. The tour overall was great, and I learned a lot of interesting things about Apple wine. That said, I enjoyed walking around in Frankfurt and seeing the Christmas Market. Our room at the Sofitel was nice but very small. This was a hotel I picked, and I probably would not choose it again if you are traveling as a couple. Our Rhine Valley tour was nice. We went to some really nice wineries where they served generous pours. We also went to lunch, which was delicious. The couple we shared our tour with was a lot of fun, too. We then went to Heidelberg.
Unfortunately, the weather was bad, but we still enjoyed learning about the castle and the town's history. The hotel was nice. If you like an older-style hotel, this is the place to stay. The mattresses were very firm. We then went to Baden-Baden, which was my favorite place we visited because of the hotel, shopping, and restaurants. The hotel was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel. Service was great, and the decor was perfect. It is right across the street from the Christmas Market, which was beautiful and looked like a scene out of a Hallmark movie. lol. The food was great, and so was the shopping. We went to the thermal spas. This was okay. I wish we had known to bring a robe, a towel, and flip-flops to the spa, which are typically provided. We did not know where to go or how to enter the spa, and the front desk was not helpful. It was okay and could have skipped going here. I would still highly recommend Baden Baden. We really enjoyed our trip and appreciate all the recommendations for restaurants and stops on the way to Wurzberg.

From start to finish our trip to Greece was flawless. Our specialist, Sienna crafted the trip of a lifetime…all within our budget. The communication was superb. All of the boutique hotels were unique and catered to our every need. I felt like a rockstar when transported by our drivers in luxury vans . They provided a lot of local color and could not have been more kind while driving us to our incredible tours. Each tour guide holds a special place in my heart. I just returned from an unforgettable trip to Argentina. Riwal put together an itinerary that included Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Bariloche. Together with Alejandra they picked must do tours and coordinated all accommodations and transfers to all locations. As a busy working mom who loves to travel but doesn’t have time to research the ins and outs, their service was pivotal to having an amazing experience. I was able to truly enjoy the trip as a traveler without the stress of coordinating everything else. I just had to show up and have a good time. I highly recommend them.

Uma was absolutely amazing and the entire reason we had the trip of our lives to New Zealand! Her local knowledge, expertise and attention to detail was superb. She gave the best recommendations considering our likes with respect to activities, venues and locations. She followed up on every detail when we were traveling. She is truly extraordinary, and our only disappointment is that she doesn't plan travel in other countries! If you are traveling to New Zealand, please use Uma. The overall experience was really good because we had amazing tour guides in each city, they were all very kind and knowledgeable. Our driver was extremely kind and willing to help and go that extra mile to make sure all our need were taken care of. We learned a great deal about Morocco and its people. We did not like the location of the Riads houses, specially the one in Marrakesh! The people in the Riad's were extremely nice and helpful but the location was a cultural shock for all of us! I will not recommend any traveler to stay in a Riad despite the kindness and generosity of its people.

Our driver, Rachid Mansouri, was great! Very friendly. Props to him for being able to drive for our long trips.

Our favorite cities were Fes and Marrakesh. We almost wish we had moved one of our days in Marrakesh to Fes, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Marrakesh nonetheless!

Mouad, the receptionist at Riad Batchisarai in Fes, was extremely kind and accommodating. He went out of his way to prepare us breakfast when we had an early departure, and also helped guide us to a restaurant in Fes when we were worried about getting lost at night. The room itself was also great, spacious and high ceilings.

The room we had at Riad Terra Bahia in Marrakesh was unfortunately a little too small for us to fit our luggage comfortably. The staff, however, were very accommodating.

It was great to have a 6-seater car, we were able to take turns lying down on the long drives between destinations. The only thing I wish was that the windows could open, as I get nauseous easily without fresh air in cars. But being able to lie down was very helpful to combat that.

Overall, a delightful trip! Booking this with KimKim made everything so much easier.

Thank you for one of the best trips! It was great mix of activities to see Croatia and Slovenia.
Amazing guides, wonderful sailing trip, the cooking class was highlight!!! The Peka meals were so delicious that I'm trying to duplicate this at home!!! I can go on and on about this trip! Please use Ivan and Sara for you adventure into Croatia and Slovenia and more!!!!!!

Heidi was very helpful throughout the planning process. She updated our trip a couple times as we finalized flight times and asked for some different activities.

While we were on the trip, everything went very smoothly. We had private transfers, our guides were very helpful with local recommendations, and everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. An added bonus was having our guides help us through check in at the airports which was a different process than we were used to.

Overall, our trip to Thailand was amazing. We spent time in Bangkok at temples and different markets, time in Chiang Mai with elephants and hiking in the rainforest, and days in Phuket doing ocean activities. Our guides made each day transition smoothly and our accommodations were perfect. I would not have changed anything about the trip and would definitely use kimkim again for future travel!

We had a wonderful trip to Peru, organized by Johanna and Kristy of Kimkim.

The helpful suggestions in the original trip planning stage were much appreciated, and the on the ground support, the drivers who met us at transition points and the helpful and well informed guides, were all terrific.

The trip was tailored to our needs and preferences, and the support made the entire trip relatively stress free. Peru is an amazing travel destination. The history, the natural beauty and the varied terrain were all incredible. However, it is a large and complex country, and I am glad that we didn't try to navigate our trip without the substantial help and assistance from our local guides and drivers.

Our recent trip to Patagonia was absolutely amazing! Thank you to our guide Jimena for organizing everything so perfectly so that the only thing left for us to do was to enjoy!
