The stay in Bergen was too long, it should have been remove two night and the last boat experience wasn’t great, there was nothing to do or visit.
But overall all went good.

Samad was a great driver who made the trip most enjoyable. Siad was there to make alterations to the itinerary when we asked. Overall, a stellar job!

Our trip includes taking a 2D1N short Inca trail to Machu Picchu, a day trip to Rainbow Mountain and another day trip to Humantay lake. We had three different guides respectively for the three trips, Reynaldo, Simon and Jamie. We had some problems with the first trip due to some miscommunication at the beginning: for some reason Reynaldo sent Whatsapp messages to one of us who did not read her messages instead of contacting me, the main person to communicate with Kimkim. As a result, we were briefed by someone else sent by the tour operator Alpaca Expeditions and there was confusion as to how to deliver our luggage to a new hotel before our return from the trip to Machu Picchu. Reynaldo turned out to be an acceptable guide especially for his knowledge about nature, plants and animals, but I feel he can improve by being more dedicated. We were put off at the end of the trip because we felt pressured to write reviews in front of him. Simon is amiable who put us at ease right away. We did not reach the peak to see the rainbow mountain because we were very slow paced and also because of the bad weather condition. Jamie was very patient with our slow pace which we appreciated. We were able to complete our hike to enjoy the fantastic view of the lake.

Ruby at the reception was very friendly and helpful. But there was a problem after we checked in. She told us she could not find our immigration entry record and as a result we were forced to pay the 10% charge which can be waved for foreigners. We eventually obtained the record with the help from our ministry of foreign affairs and got the money back. But it seems that Ruby and another hotel personal may have looked for our entry records under China and we are from Taiwan!

Hiking to Humantay Lake: A Scenic Adventure in the Andes from Cusco

Similar but perhaps a bit easier than our hikes to some of the 100 peaks (each higher than 3000m) in Taiwan. But still very challenging for us, three, all seniors. We were glad that we made it and the beautiful lake isn't disappointing.

Cusco is a beautiful city, the narrow streets and alleys are especially attractive. We had a little bit more than one day to tour the city. We basically walked but a couple of times hailed a taxi or used Uber to visit attractions of longer distances. There were no problems except that Peruvian cash is often required.

The trip was well planned and well executed. It was a full schedule with a good variety of activities to see some of the highlights of Portugal, but also with enough unplanned/down time for us to explore and relax on our own. The guides were knowledgable and enjoyable company (special shout out to Claudia) and the arrangements were always on target. A highlight was the private tour, tasting and dinning at Pacheca vineyard which I am sure we could not have experienced on our own. Excellent experience across the board.

We booked three trips with Umoji, the Uganda safari, the trek up Kilimanjaro, and, my wife's stay at the Amani Villi.
I have already reviewed the Uganda safari and trek up Kilimanjaro in separate correspondence. I am only addressing my wife's stay at Amani Villa in this review.

The planning was very difficult because we did not learn of the proper location - Amani Villa - until late in the planning stage. At one time or another, three different locations were provided to us and we had to do the research to find the correct location. My rating for Umoji is one star.

My wife loved her stay at Amani Villa. She will rate Amani Villa as five star!
Kilifaith Adventures provided transportation to and from Amani Villa and Grace did a fantastic job driving so we give her five stars.

Umoji booked my wife for ten nights, including three meals each day. Umoji should have only booked her for eight nights so we paid for two extra nights and extra meals. I am requesting reimbursement for the two extra nights and meals paid to Amani Villa on our behalf. Our planning only included eight nights, not ten nights.!

We actually booked three separate trips with Agnes at Umoja Motherland Tours; My wife and I participated in Uganda Safari, my daughter and I - Trek on Mt Kilimanjaro, and, my wife's stay at Amani Villa. I am only going to address the Trek on Mt. Kilimanjaro in this review.

The planning for this trip was a disaster. We were provided with the wrong trekking company for months and only learned of the real company, by our own investigations. a few days before the trek commenced. Each trekking company does business differently and you must work with the correct company to get the correct answers to your questions.

On the first night of our trip, they changed our hotel from the Arusha Lodge to the Kerama Silent Lodge and this change was made at the last minute. My daughter had been staying at the Arusha Lodge (independent of our trip) and paid a few hundred dollars extra for the convenience of meeting us at the Aushsa Lodge. My daughter said the Arusha Lodge was much better so Umoji saved money by putting us in an inferior hotel.
I got food poisoning from breakfast at the Kerama Silent Lodge and was as sick as possible during my first day of trekking on Kilimanjaro. Fortunately, I recovered enough to complete the eight day trek to the summit. the guides will vouch that I was so sick on the first day they were going to cancel my trek, but out of good grace they gave me another day of trekking to demonstrate my ability and each following day I got stronger and stronger.

On the third day of the trek, my daughter came down with food/water poisoning We learned at this point that they did not treat the drinking water or water used for cooking. This is unheard of for foreign travelers! They gave us the option of chlorinating the water and we gladly accepted this option. This should have been brought to our attention by the trekking company before we stepped a foot on the mountain.

Umoji subcontracted Kilifaith Adventures. I believe Kilifaith did a great job transporting us to and from the trail head, (thankyou Grace!) and the guides were supurbguiding us up the mountain.(thanki you Moses and Josepth and the thirteen porters!).

I will give Kilifaith five stars for making our trek a success. Please inform all customers in the future if they do or do not want their water treated before consumptions! The planning for this trip by Umoji coudl not have been worse so I will give them one star.

I thought every thing went really well. The itinerary was super, the planning was easy, the accommodations were fine and our driver/guide was superb. At the end of our Uganda tour we spent extra days in Entebbe on our own and this was the icing on the cake.

Our local specialist, Mar put together an amazing trip for my husband and I to Norway for our anniversary. Everything was so easy and everyone was so helpful- from the beginning of the planning stages to the trip itself! I even needed to contact the urgent contact while I was on my trip and Ricardo was very responsive and helpful! The hotels were great, the excursions and activities were perfect for us, and it was so nice to have all of our transfers taken care of with detailed instructions on where meet up and catch busses/trains! We spent time in Bergen, Balestrand, Flam and Tromso and did a variety of things including hikes, ferry rides, private floating sauna on the fjord, Sami and reindeer experience, funicular, northern lights excursions (we were lucky to see the norther lights 3 out of 3 nights in Tromso), etc. It was magical. I would definitely recommend KimKim's Mar and their team to plan a trip to Norway!

What a terrific trip. We had beautiful weather and a great itinerary. Pedro and his team had a very detailed schedule and the avenues to communicate worked extremely well. We had some mixed results with the guides. Our city guide in Lisbon on the second day was a little indifferent and unfortunately, the scheduled guide in Eveora had a sickness and we had a replacement who we were disappointed with. The drivers were excellent with kudos to Carlos, Ricardo and Ivo!

The accomodations were nice with the Miragem in Cascais being the best. I would rate after that one, Porto, Lisbon, Lagos and then Evora.

Driving the 2nd week worked well with only a little confusion leaving the car rental at the airport. Highlights include the 2 boat rides. Winery in Porto was OK, but, the second winery with lunch was excellent.

Hi Liz, first off I would just like to say that our trip to Australia was just great. All of the plans that you made for tours and drivers went without a hitch. Everyone was on time, friendly, informative, and just fun to be with. Our time in Sydney was great, it is a beautiful city. The tour of the city and the sunset dinner cruise were great again. Everything was on time. No delays at all. Really impressed by the Opera House. The Blue Mountains are absolutely beautiful, the Echoes hotel Spoiled us. Amazing food, staff, accommodations were comfortable and welcoming. Enjoyed walking around Kafoumba. Scenic world was very informative and fun. What I will say for some of the excursions it took some bit of driving to get there from Port Douglas. Drives were around an hour or a little more to get to The different sites that we were visiting. Outback tasting tour was fun and great, love being out in the country, yet again it was a long day and a long drive. Not sure we needed the Esplanade for a drink at the end of that day as we were tired and we were staying in a very similar setting in Port Douglas. The great barrier reef excursion was perfect. I can’t remember the name of the diving company, but they were very knowledgeable, made us feel very safe, very well informed staff which made the trip out to the reef more interesting. We had no difficulties with renting the car at the airport or returning it, although it was a little nerve-racking at the very beginning, but I think my husband did pretty well driving. I want to thank you for all the time and work you put in into planning our vacation, I think this was a once in a lifetime trip for us, but you never know. Thanks again. Christy

Anita Was amazing to nowt only to work but out in the three cities that we visited, there were no hitches no gotchas, no surprises. It was extremely well coordinated with the guides that she set up being so good and so knowledgeable. We will use her again and again for any trips that we make back to Italy and we are trying to coordinate one for the next couple years. Outstanding.

Athens was a surprise, having heard things from friends that had been there in the past. But it was lively and fun and we felt very safe the whole time.

Our trip to Morocco organized by Kimkim was the one of the best trips we ever did. The planning with Abdellah was seamless. He helped us decide on various activities and places and made good suggestions.
Everyone who helped us on our trip was professional, knowledgeable and warm and friendly. Our driver Mustapha was excellent. He was a very safe driver, knowledgeable about locations and shared a lot of knowledge about the country and environment. He always had fresh bottles of water each day and offered several convenient stops throughout the day. Our guides in Fes and Marrakech were helpful in the market and knowledgeable about the sights. Our guides for the hikes at Akchour and Imlil Valley were knowledgeable and shared great information about the area and the Berber people. Our time at the camp in the desert was very memorable. The staff at the Tiziri Camp were wonderfully warm and friendly and took time to share more about their culture which we loved. The music at night was especially wonderful. Our time in Marrakech was a favorite. People were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed walking around and also did a cooking class at La Maison Arabe. It was excellent and we are excited to practice at home. The staff at La Maison Arabe was outstanding. The last day we went to lunch at the Selman Hotel and saw the stables of Arabian horses. It was a very special experience. All our hotels throughout the trip were excellent and chosen by Original Travels.
The person we worked with once the trip was planned, Said, at Original Travels was wonderful. He communicated with us well and was quick to respond to any request we had especially for the last day.
We highly recommend Kimkim for travel and Original Travels and Said as the person to work with during the trip. We highly recommend Kimkim and Original Travels.

She selected superb lodgings in the best locations. She arranged top quality tours to match our interests. We had such confidence in her choices And it felt like she was with us on our trip, Even though of course we never met in person.

The other measure of a travel agent is response to last minute issues, and once again Vicky came through in a superlative fashion. Our trip plan included an all day rainforest tour in our third City, Brisbane, and by that time in the trip we just wanted to tour on our own. So I messaged Vicky, and she took care of that cancellation for us along with a refund. Much appreciated, and we were able to have a day that suited interests in town.

Everything Vicky arranged happened exactly as we planned And we will certainly recommend her and the Kim Kim team to our friends, and We will use Kim Kim, again when we need this kind of individualized travel planning.

Visiting The reef was Tom's bucket list And this tour brought us right out to the reef For the full experience. The boat ride is 90 minutes each way. I took my seasick medicine before departure each way which was a good thing. The staff used the time time of the journey out to The reef briefing Everyone on the many activities available. I am a very anxious snorkeler and they had so many expert staff members available at each step of the suiting up. I'm so glad I had that experience. However, the real way to see what's under the water is the semi-submersible which I rode twice.

A wonderfull trip involving stops in Buenos Aires (2x), El Calafate, Bariloche, Mendoza and Iguazu Falls. Knowledgeable, nice, helpful, caring and all-over perfect guides everywhere including Flo in BA, Martin in Bariloche and Alex at the Falls. Camila, our local specialist, arranged all the transfers, trips, events, sightseeings, airline bookings, hotels, etc with great precision and to our liking.

First time to Barcelona and Sitges and we needed to work around a busy wedding schedule.
Raquel was able to understand my needs, identify the appropriate schedule to maximize our experience.
To complicate things my wife fractured her foot. So last minute changes and bookings had to be made. The Kim Kim team made it happen.
Our driver Saed who met us in airport and stayed with us throughout trip as we moved from Barcelona to Sitges and back to airport was outstanding. prompt attentive despite having to travel around protests sweeping around city.

Our City guide and driver were very good, again understanding my wife's mobility issues they provided us with a great half day overview of Barcelona and a wonderful tour of the Sagrada Familia. Much appreciated.

Our Catalan tour guide who took us to the winery and to Montserrat was also very understanding and helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the region and gave us a great overview. His knowledge of Montserrat and his ability to share that knowledge made for a very memorable trip.

Montserrat is an amazing place. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and was excellent at sharing his knowledge. Given my wife's mobility issue he gave us options and recommended the cable car which limited the walking and turned out avoided traffic delays due to a pilgrimage group. He was tremendous. the winery tour took us to a beautiful winery where the tour was just the right amount of time and provided us a insight into the regions winery trade. A very pleasant morning.

Our trip to Santorini and Crete was absolutely amazing! Angela went above and beyond to plan every detail perfectly. Beautiful view of the Aegean Sea and beach and lovely roofdeck with hot tub. Was a little farther away from Naxos Town than we expected but no worries we figured out the bus system for going back and forth to town for the tours. 😊

E-Bike Experience with Olive Mill & Farm Visit with Lunch

We really enjoyed touring the Naxos country side on e-assist bikes with Manos Vassilas leading us around and narrating stories about the areas along the way. He took us to the Kouros archaeological site and to an Olive Mill where we learned how olive oil is made and also sampled some. Manos also took a video of us and shared it with us and we enjoyed visiting the family farm and then eating some of the food made at that farm. The view of the Aegean Sea on the way back was beautiful!

Old Town Food Walk

We loved Naxos and the Food Tour was great! We met our group and welcoming and friendly guide, Ellana, at 5 pm and then walked all around Naxos Town kicking off our journey with delicious samples of Naxos cheese, lime and fig nibbles, lemon honey bread and a local white wine. We continued into picturesque winding streets up toward the ancient castle to meet our sweet greek grandmother host for an olive oil tasting session, starting with the extra virgin oil, which was also award winning, hot, and spicy in our throats! Sampled many olive oils, some flavored with rosemary, basil and chile peppers drizzled on popcorn. She also served us sweet homemade greek cakes. After buying some olive oil we continued along a complex labyrinth maze (designed to lose pirates) toward the 360 degree sunset view bar, Avaton, through small white and stone walkways with bougainvillea hanging from trellises, and passageways around and through castle walls. Our group wrapped up the tour with a nice dinner at the restaurant, Apostolis, sipping squash soup, and eating greek salad in bread bowls with fluffy whipped goat cheese, Naxos potatoes with kalamata olives and capers, red onion, and cheese, lamb stew with phyllo crust, and zucchini fritters. Such a great way to experience Naxos.

Leo was awesome and we learned alot about Athens! We walked all over Athens as saw the changing of the guard, many embassies, the upscale area of Kolonoki, student and young thinker hangout spots, grabbed a drink with the group at a local cafe, walked through the meat, fish, veggie and fruit markets then through Psirri square, ending at Monastiraki square. The tour really helped us feel comfortable navigating our way around the city.

My recent trip to Korea was a trip of a lifetime! I enjoyed every moment of my trip and will always remember all of the places I visited along with all of the incredible tour guides that made the tours so memorable. Jessica, our travel specialist, was very detailed and responsive to all of our questions and requests. She was very professional and courteous and gave me peace of mind for our tours in Korea. Our tour guides were excellent in so many ways. I loved that they had a back-up plan whenever the weather changed. They were flexible but made sure that we visited all the places on our itinerary. I enjoyed many of the tours and appreciated their expertise on the history and culture at each attraction/location. They are very well informed and provided great summaries for us. They even offered to take photos of our group and did an exceptional job at taking memorable group photos at each site. Lastly, I appreciated all of their food and shopping recommendations for us to try during our "free" days. In summary, I had an epic trip to South Korea and will definitely come back for a return visit in the future. Many, many thanks, KimKim.
