Our trip to Morocco was marvelous on all counts--seriously! This was in large part due to the communication with the local travel specialist, Nihad, who planned the trip exactly according to our preferences, and the remarkable warmth, dependability and excellent communication with our driver, Ahmed, who was with us for 12 days. The kimkim site requires an extensive questionaire to be completed, which was very helpful in understanding how/what we wanted from our trip. We wanted to learn about the history, culture, food, and local customs. We wanted to go to multiple large cities and small towns (Rabat, Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, and Marrakesh), and also see the Atlas mountains, the Sahara Desert, and local villages. Thanks to kimkim, Nihad, and our fantastic driver, Ahmed, we got to do all of that.

Ahmed was very responsible and kept up with potential weather concerns. As we we were about to go through the mountains, there was a lot of snow. Ahmed rerouted us, and while we forwent a couple of stops (to Ifrane, for one), we still had a breathtaking drive, and several informative stops along the way. We went to an incredible fossil museum where Ahmed had arranged a very informative and eye opening tour with a paleontologist, a local visit to Tinghir, where another local contact of Ahmed, Abdullah, we met a teacher and her family living in a village that was largely abandoned, but where no money changed hands and we learned about the local crops (palm dates, alfalfa, and other plants) that villagers tended collectively. One more crucial detail: Ahmed introduced us to a whole range of Saharan music, Amazigh musicians, and Gnaoua music--these were great soundtracks on our multiple days of long drives throughout the country.

We stayed exclusively in riads along the way. All of the riads were beautiful, some of them intricately renovated. We had great private rooms with excellent hot functioning showers. The hotel staff was, without fail, warm and welcoming--in every riad. Our breakfasts in each riad were excellent. In places where dinner would be hard to obtain, dinner had already arranged as part of the tour--another detail taken care of through kimkim. The one place where our riad was a bit uncomfortable was in Marrakesh (but the hotel staff and food were excellent!), The Riad La Croix Berbere Deluxe was billed as a suite, but it was a room with a connecting bridge that looked into our neighbors' room and their "living area". It was very noisy, because if the neighbors were in their living area and talking, we could see them and hear them. The "suite" was not private, unless you shut yourself in the bedroom, which was so small there was no room for luggage. I would recommend that this riad not be used in the future (again, though, the staff was marvelous).

In conclusion, we had a fantastic trip and will definitely use kimkim in the future. This was our first experience with kimkim and, having used the service once, we feel more comfortable in crafting our next adventure with this company. The cost of this trip was more than worth it--to be relieved of planning, and to be taken care of so well.

Marrakech

The hotel was located inside the medina, and felt a bit cramped. The hotel staff were amazing and kind, even making us a breakfast package for our very early morning departure from Marrakesh (very useful on a 10 hour Delta flight that provided very little food returning to ATL). They had umbrellas for guest use, very handy given that it rained while we were there. The room we stayed in was designated a "suite". But it was not a suite. It was a very small room (granted, with high ceilings) that left no space for luggage. The "suite part was a bridge from the hotel steps to the room (very tastefully decorated, and gave us space for our luggage), that overlooked our neighbors' room and allowed us to look directly onto the neighbors' "living room"--with their snacks, coats, and even hearing their conversations at full volume because there was no glass or partition shielding them from our view. We were part of their conversation. Ditto for the floor above us. They too had a bridge overlooking the room, and they could hear our conversation/vice versa. this meant that when one of us came in late, the others would be awakened. There was no sense of privacy unless you shut the glass doors of the room (and needless to say, no windows in the room), so a bit suffocating. But again, the staff was lovely. I would not recommend these rooms in that hotel to anyone.

It was a lovely hotel, renovated, with a beautiful garden, great dinner of chicken dumplings and rice. What a relief to have a great dinner that was not a tagine after 7 days of travel. Michelle was very warm and welcoming, and we enjoyed chatting with her over our excellent breakfast.

What an amazing experience! The tent is fully functioning: excellent toilet. Shower was hand-held but it did the trick--it was super cold, understandably. At first, we grumbled about how far a walk it was to our tent (given that it was quite empty due to snowed in roads that had prevented 20 guests from reaching). But we soon realized that the views from our tent were absolutely stunning. Sand dunes, no tents obstructing our views. We were very lucky to have such a great tent. The food was very good. The welcoming reception was lovely--tea and some snacks. The reception room was gorgeous and grand. Loved it! The bonfire was lovely. TBH, it felt like a bunch of Moroccan bros drumming for fun--but we didn't mind. They were sweet, kind, and enthusiastic, and very funny!

This hotel had the most remarkable views of the mountains of Chefchaoun. Be warned: many many street steps to get up to hotel. But this is where you learn how incredibly fit and inshape the staff are--they lugged our 3 big bags up those steps and we lost sight of them! They brought us tea to warm us, and our balcony overlooking part of the city was magical. The room was very cold (understandable given that we were in the mountains in the winter), but it took a long time to heat up the room.

What a great place to hang out--a great cocktail hour with effusive and kind staff. We had a great charcuterie board with amazing Mekness wine a couple days before Christmas. The room was decorated cheerfully with some Christmas gear, and the roaring and warm fireplace was super welcome after a cold rainy day of touring. We got to meet the owner the next day, Alex and his colleague, Sandra, who were so cheerful and lovely to talk with. The breakfast was also so elaborate--very hospitable!

We just returned from our 7-day Morocco trip. We had a wonderful time. All of the arrangements went very smoothly despite a short-notice reschedule of a couple excursions due to weather disruptions, which is an absolute credit to KimKim and the supporting tour companies (especially Original Travels). Our driver, Hamza, was incredibly punctual and got us everywhere we needed to be and expertly navigated us through the pure chaos that is Moroccan traffic. The hotels and Riads we stayed in were comfortable and accommodating.

Our individual tour guides were each friendly and took us through the locales while giving a rich history of the sites. The guides for the Roman ruins at Volubilis and Fez Medina were standouts and the hot air balloon ride was the absolute highlight of the trip. Our trek into the Imlil Valley was a lovely way to end the trip and the food served by the Berber family that was kind enough to host us was delicious, enhanced further by the wonderful view of the valley from their home.

The one area that could have been better (maybe) was in the planning stage. Our itinerary necessitated fairly long drives on many of the days and it might have been helpful for KimKim to have provided more recommendations within the itinerary to perhaps minimize that further. That said, the itinerary checked off a large swath of the experiences we wanted to have in the relatively short duration of the trip, so it may have been the best one for us. Regardless, the countryside was quite beautiful and our driver Hamza made the journey comfortable.

Thank you again for the wonderful experience!

Don't let the location fool you! Despite its specific location on what felt to be a very deserted alley, further complicated by Apple Maps' inaccuracy on how to get to it (Google Maps knows the correct location and will get you there, so use it instead), it was a very comfortable stay and very central to the heart of Marrakech. It made for a great home base from which to explore the market and maze of alleyways. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating!

A lovely little hike to a waterfall and then onward (upward) to the village for a delicious lunch overlooking the valley, offering yet another taste of the variety of terrain and culture that Morocco offers (especially in late December...solid Tibetan vibes at play). The one element that didn't quite meet our expectation, though not specifically a negative, was that we didn't actually each lunch with anyone from the family hosting it. The food was very delicious and the setting on the house terrace was comfortable with fantastic views, but we were a little bummed to not have the opportunity to talk more with the family hosting us. Nonetheless, it was still a very positive experience!

Our driver Abdellatif (Abdul) was exceptional - a wonderful resource and super flexible. We would not have enjoyed the trip nearly as much without his knowledge and skills. A huge asset! During our trip, we visited much of the country -rural areas as well as cities and the desert. Given the time of year, I do wish we had a bit more information about accommodations prior to arrival. A couple of the riads were very cold and we may have opted to stay outisde the medina in a few instances. In country communication with the KimKim representative was challenging at times - missed calls, lack of understanding. We figured it out but it was not seamless. Local guides were always courteous and friendly. A couple of negatives about tours: in several instances we stopped at specific merchants where we felt pressure to purchase their wares; the food tour in Marrakesh had several sketchy 'stops.' If foreigners are on a food tour, the stops should be vetted ahead of time for cleanliness standards. Lastly, on the night before our early flight, I would have preferred to stay in a hotel outside the medina. We spent the majority of our last day traveling to Marrakesh and transferring ourselves to the riad due to the city congestion. In general, Morocco is a fabulous country with very warm and welcoming people.

Positives: Very clean. High quality linens and towels. Rooftop with chaise lounges for enjoying the sun. Very friendly staff. We departed before breakfast so no comment on food. Negatives: Rooms were very cold. We arrived for check-in at 2 pm and hoped to have dinner at the riad. Lots of advertisement on the riad site about their delicious dinners. We were informed that the request for dinner must be made 'earlier.' I would suggest that be communicated to guests before their arrival. Also, the rooms all had the faint scent of dirty water - perhaps how the linens are washed or maybe just dampness?

This evening tour was a lot of fun to see the medina/market in the evening. Many stops on this tour so go hungry! My one concern is that the stops need to be vetted for health practices. 2/4 in our party experienced serious stomach issues following this tour. There were a couple of stops with very sketchy food preparation standards. The visit to the spice shop was excellent. We really enjoyed learning about the various spices and uses.

Quality of Experience
Better vetting of the stops -street food is always questionable for foreigners but please select options with some level of health practices in food preparation.

Due to road closures in the middle Atlas mountains, we had to take an alternative route to get to Merzouga which added four hours to our already long drive, so we were late to arrive and had to take a truck into the camp. Our driver Mo was amazing during the bad weather and the additional delays. The staff at the desert camp arranged for us to have the camel ride experience in the morning as we went to see the sunrise and helped us set up a quad bike/atv experience in the dunes, which was a lot of fun. The desert camp itself is beautiful and I would highly recommend.

Our Driver Karim and Original Travels truly deserves 5 star rating.. It was an amazing experience with Karim and my family wouldn't have enjoyed Morocco like we did without Karim. Karim spoke English very well. Karim was very knowledgeable about various topics starting from religion, history, politics and even economics. Karim was a very good driver and we wouldn't have completed the entire circle (starting from Casablanca --> Fez --> Merzuga --> Marrakech) in 4 days without Karim. And yet, We spent proper time in every city. Karim was always available on time in the morning. Karim stopped wherever we requested him. We had two adult college attending boys and they enjoyed the trip too.

Karim helped to buy additional excursions (be it ATV, Jardin Majorelle or Chellah ruins in Rabat). There were no complaints if we added a stop. Karim was very friendly and playful.. He made the environment lively. He made a good recommendations about food. He was very practical and kept us informed when roads were blocked due to snow while going from Fez to Merzuga.. Almost every day we skipped lunch so did he - just to accomodate our hectic routine and to ensure that we get Sahara desert on time (for camel ride) or Ouarzazate on time (for Atlas Studio). It was an amazing trip and everything went perfect only because we were in good hands of Karim.

Karim was berber and shared a lot about Berber community. He respected our wishes in car too (when my son wanted to study or sleep). There were no surprises by Original travels or Kimkim either.. Everything was booked as requested. I would definitely recommend Original Travels and even ask for Karim if you can!

Accommodations were carefully chosen, hospitality amazing, food delicious and we can never forget Soufine, our driver for the trip who took a great care of my family. Our drive from Marrakech to Merzouga was very comfortable. First stay at La Berbere Palace where we enjoyed a restful evening. We loved our stay at Riad Villa Amood in Sahara before heading to the camp site Riad Madu Luxury. The food at Amood was Spanish fusion and exceptional. The ATV buggy tours organized at Sahara Buggy was a lot of fun and Mohammed our guide took us through amazing dunes and views. We had fun at the camp with berbere music and warm food and dune treks. The people very very friendly. And eventually ending our drive to Fez. Soufine stopped at great locations, tea and coffee and food options.
Thank you Yassine (KimKim), Hatim (local organizer), Soufine and the whole group.

Of special significance was the desert camp and camel ride on Christmas Eve. That sunset and the camp atmosphere, is something I will not soon forget.

I must also add that my flight into Morocco was delayed for about 11 hours, and during that whole time, the company hung with me and made sure I understood that they were there for me. Their actions were incredibly reassuring, and in the end, all worked out well.

I can recommend the services of Hak and the company without reservation.

We created amazing memories about Morocco, we were fascinated by their vast culture, their gentle and welcoming people and their astonishing and beautiful cities. Everything runs perfectly. Ismael, our driver during the whole trip, treated us as an old good friend, he filled us up with engaging talks, recommendations about food, curios facts etc. We always felt secure and comfortable. The guides in the different cities were friendly, they looked to us highly prepared for their job, they made it with grace and engaged to communicate the main highlights of each city, building or Medina in order to create an unforgettable experience. The stay on the Riad helps us to make our travel experience closer to Moroccan Culture. We loved it. Finally, we’d like to thank Majid and his team and recommend them to plan your trip to Morocco. After choosing kimkim from a wide field based on their highly favorable
reviews and reasonable rates, we exchanged several messages that
culminated in a Zoom call to discuss our interests and personalize our
travel plans. Our expert travel consultants Maryem and Habiba drafted and
then modified our Imperial City tour several times to meet our specific
desires. The entire trip went off smoothly, starting from our pickup at the
airport to the dropoff at our final hotel nine days later. Our driver Omar
exceeded our expectations. We spent a week with him traversing Morocco
and parted as good friends by the trip’s end. Omar was an excellent guide,
as well as an experienced driver. He was very knowledgeable about the
history of his country and great at taking us to many of the under-the-radar
spots that were not overrun with tour buses. Omar was very polite and
gracious and attentive to our needs. He is a great conversationalist but
would also allow us quiet time to relax and nap, as we spent many hours in
the van with him. The hotels we stayed in were top end, some oozing old
world-charm and others worthy of a spread in Architectural Digest. Our
local guides in Fes, Rabat, and Marrakech provided excellent insider tours
both within and outside of Morocco’s ancient medinas.

It is a genuine pleasure to review our Kim Kim experience in Morocco. We worked directly with Sharon of Immersion Travel whose choice of our guide, Omar, could not have been a more fortuitous choice.

From the moment we saw Omar’s smiling face to the moment we were dropped off for our return flight, Omar’s professional attitude and friendly vibes were a delight to behold. What a gem!

Our first day there was also very successfully managed by our capable city guide, Hameed, who was kind enough to navigate a rainy day throughout the winding Medina alleyways. He was patient with all our interests and allowed for an impromptu lamb barbecue lunch to beat the band. We were satiated and satisfied at day’s end for sure.

Once acclimated, on Wednesday, we toured Marrakesh’s Majorelle and Anima Gardens with Omar ably driving us. On Thursday, we enjoyed a real treat as we grocery shopped and cooked in a traditional Moroccan home. Narwal was a welcoming hostess/chef as she knowingly picked out produce and showed us how to prepare our delicious lunch. Even her daughters participated with the youngest delightfully suggesting we wear the traditional Kaftan. “Dressing up” truly enhanced our delicious tagine chicken lunch accompanied by vegetables, homemade bread and mandarin oranges for dessert. The spicy cooking lessons we learnt will certainly enhance our meals back home.

Omar’s guidance throughout our final days lead us to experience a majestic camel ride that included a wonderful evening meal along with musical performances. The sunset could not have been more beautiful as golden light bounced off the dunes. Remarkable pictures taken by our happy guide will be forever memories.

The final day of our stay was an outdoor adventure as we drove into the Orika Valley. We were stunned by the beauty there as a recent snowfall had dusted the mountains and water gushed through the main river. Omar was kind enough to arrange for our hiking guide, Mohammed, to take us up a mountainside to see a stunningly raging waterfall. Although the terrain got step and slippery, Mohammed’s steady hand was like an angel. His expertise was certainly what kept me balanced as some of the rocky paths appeared too dangerous to pass. An achievement to have accomplished and worthy of our delicious riverbank lunch afterwards.

If Morocco’s Berber culture could be reflected in one person it would be in our guide, Omar. Friendly and available for any question or concern (even brought an extra jacket for hiking) we could not have been luckier to have his extensive guidance on this first time experience. Shout out to Hameed as well.

Kudos to everyone at Kim Kim and Immersion travel. Morocco was an adventure we will not soon forget!

We had a truly wonderful trip to Morocco, even though our very first day was disrupted by a canceled flight. From the start, Yassine and Younes went out of their way to adjust our schedule, making sure we were still able to see and experience as much as possible despite the unexpected change. That flexibility and care set the tone for the rest of the journey.

Younes—officially our driver, but quickly our friend for life—picked us up at the airport, and we knew immediately that he was going to make this trip something special. His kindness, calm presence, and genuine love for his country made every day better. He took us to the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca and drove us around his home city, sharing stories and explaining what we were seeing. That same thoughtful commentary continued everywhere we went, turning long drives into meaningful lessons about Morocco’s culture, history, and daily life.

Our journey took us from Casablanca to Rabat, Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga, Ouarzazate, and finally Marrakesh—each place offering its own beauty, rhythm, and unforgettable moments.

All of our local guides were excellent. Zahra in Fes was an absolute delight. She guided us through the medina with warmth and enthusiasm, introduced us to incredible sites and local crafts, and made sure we tasted a wide variety of delicious foods along the way. In Marrakesh, Mohammad was wonderful as well, leading both our evening food tour and our medina tour the next day with knowledge and energy.

While every guide added something special, we relied heavily on Younes’ recommendations and guidance throughout the trip. His insights, patience, and genuine care made us feel safe, welcome, and deeply connected to the places we visited. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had him not just as our driver, but as a true friend who helped make this journey unforgettable.

We were asked to pay again for the service, even though it had already been paid for through KimKim. Thankfully, our driver Younes stepped in and helped explain the situation, and everything was eventually sorted out. The sunset camel ride was absolutely amazing and one of those experiences that stays with you long after the trip is over. Our guide led us gently across the dunes to a perfectly chosen spot to watch the sun set. The colors over the sand were breathtaking, and the quiet of the desert made the moment feel especially peaceful. He was incredibly gracious, taking his time to help us get photos so we could fully remember the experience. I only wish I could remember the guide’s name—and even the camels’ Berber names. Somewhere along the way, I started calling the camels John and Anthony, which added a bit of humor and made the ride even more memorable. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with our tour guides and that your driver provided excellent care throughout your journey. Our team takes great pride in offering warm, knowledgeable, and personalized service, and we are happy this aspect of your trip stood out.

Regarding the accommodations, we are sorry to hear that staying in the medina riads was not the right fit for you. During the planning process, you specifically expressed interest in experiencing the historical and cultural heart of Morocco, and there is truly no better way to do that than by staying within the medina. Riads are an essential part of Morocco’s heritage, known for their traditional architecture, intimate atmosphere, and proximity to historic sites. The riads selected for your trip are among the top-rated in their categories, and we have worked with them for many years with consistently excellent feedback. Over the years of planning tours in Morocco and using these particular riads, we have only received positive comments about them. We have also personally stayed in them, and they are truly top-notch, so we were surprised to hear that they did not meet your expectations.

All accommodation details were shared with you in advance and confirmed prior to your trip. If we had known you preferred modern, Western-style hotels outside the medina, we would have been more than happy to prioritize those options for you. We always tailor trips to each traveler’s comfort level, and clear communication helps us ensure the best possible experience.

We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to ensure that every traveler understands what to expect so they can make accommodation choices that best align with their preferences. Thank you again for traveling with us, and we wish you many wonderful journeys ahead.

Very fun!

Our favorite cities were Fes and Marrakesh. We almost wish we had moved one of our days in Marrakesh to Fes, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Marrakesh nonetheless!

Mouad, the receptionist at Riad Batchisarai in Fes, was extremely kind and accommodating. He went out of his way to prepare us breakfast when we had an early departure, and also helped guide us to a restaurant in Fes when we were worried about getting lost at night. The room itself was also great, spacious and high ceilings.

The room we had at Riad Terra Bahia in Marrakesh was unfortunately a little too small for us to fit our luggage comfortably. The staff, however, were very accommodating.

It was great to have a 6-seater car, we were able to take turns lying down on the long drives between destinations. The only thing I wish was that the windows could open, as I get nauseous easily without fresh air in cars. But being able to lie down was very helpful to combat that.

Overall, a delightful trip! Booking this with KimKim made everything so much easier.

His attitude was especially nice, friendly and welcoming. He seemed more like a friend showing us the country, than someone paid to do so. Especially important was that he made us feel safe, & he was totally trustworthy. He helped a lot with pointing us in directions that were good when we were on our own. Every place he suggested to eat was great. My wife's birthday dinner exceeded any expectation. He set up surprises for her, like a bouquet of beautiful flowers. He contacted the restaurant & hotel to set up a cake at both places, along with "Happy Birthday" songs at each place. The restaurant was one of the best - Le Cuistat - small, intimate, friendly, and one of the best meals on our trip.

We would definitely recommend KimKim to others!
In order to be honest, I need to add that the written itinerary was very detailed and sounded amazing at first glance. It was 39 pages & so detailed that we overlooked some things we needed to question or that should have been pointed out. We choose a trip that included some drives longer than we understood. The itinerary listed some great plans, but there was not enough time to drive and stop at every location listed in the plans. What we saw and did was fantastic! The plans had too much listed & very little time to try some of the options suggested. Some information or suggestions were written twice & listed at different places in the itinerary. We were able to figure this out after we traveled to different places or asked Mouad. Also, the plans did not clearly & simply tell us what meals were included, an easy thing to simply list for each day on the summary itinerary. It was obvious that each stay included breakfast, the other meals were usually not obvious.
