​My recent trip to Morocco was, without a doubt, the most incredible travel experience my partner and I have ever had. From the ancient medinas to the stunning Atlas Mountains and the endless Sahara dunes, every single moment was pure magic. This seamless adventure was made possible by the truly outstanding service provided by Orion Trek Voyages.
​We must start by giving our immense gratitude to our driver, Adil. Adil was much more than just a driver—he was the calm, knowledgeable, and reliable backbone of our entire journey. Over the 12 days, he expertly navigated the long roads between cities like Fes, Merzouga, and Marrakech, always ensuring our safety and comfort. His professionalism, warm smile, and willingness to stop at every picturesque vista made the extensive travel feel like part of the adventure, not just a transfer. He is a genuine treasure and a stellar representation of Moroccan hospitality.
​The highlight of our guided tours was absolutely our time in Marrakech with Laghrib. Laghrib is an extraordinary tour guide! He brought the chaotic beauty of the Red City to life, guiding us through the labyrinthine souks, historical palaces, and the vibrant Jemaa el Fna square with expert knowledge and infectious enthusiasm. His deep understanding of the city's history, culture, and local secrets gave us insights we could never have found on our own. Our 6-hour historical sightseeing tour felt like a fascinating journey through time. If you find yourself in Marrakech, request Laghrib—he is simply the best in the business!

I know this sounds crazy, but the tent was probably the nicest room we stayed in the whole trip. Not to discredit any of the riads, I'm simply talking in terms of amenities and size far exceeding expectations. The food, the staff, the clear night sky all amazing. There were 2 things we did that my wife and I said we would never do, but we did. 1. Dance at the drum circle. 2. Play the drums at the drum circle. Both made possible by the friendly and encouraging staff.

Have to admit, this tour was on the tail end of our trip, so it was becoming hard to see and experience new things. Our guide, Laghrib, made that a non-issue. He had so much knowledge about everything. It was unlike every other tour we had where the guide had a preset of what to see/do. Laghrib was able to pick up on what we wanted to see and took us there. We could have listened to Laghrib talk all day as he had a very unique perspective on everything.

We had an amazing time with Khalid as our guide around Morocco. Our guides in each city we visited made the trip a truly unforgettable experience. The three highlights for me were Fes, the camel excursion into the desert, and Marrakech. Enjoyed the variety of experiences but the medinas were amazingly memorable.

For our trip I think it would have been better to have 14 or more days to cover the vast areas we drove. We did spend a good deal of time driving.

Our Morocco trip? Absolutely chef’s kiss perfection.

We were welcomed at the airport by Ousamma—a big man with an even bigger heart. He basically knew everything about everything, and he kept an eye on us the whole trip… not because Morocco wasn’t safe, but because he treated us like VIPs who occasionally forget where they left their sunglasses.

The itinerary was so smooth, we still can’t believe we covered nearly 2,000 km by road without once questioning our life choices. The hotels and riads were charming, comfortable, and perfectly located—like someone had planned the trip using insider secrets.

And the funniest part? Everywhere we went, people were amazed to meet Nepalis for the first time. We felt like rare Pokémon wandering through Morocco.

Our experience with KimKim and the local company we worked with was very high quality and met our expectations. We would like to particularly highlight our tour manager/driver Ali for his unfailing politeness, his exceptional driving skills, his problem solving approach, his flexibility and the pride he had in his home country. Sharon’s company provided us with high quality guides in the places we visited. Our guides were fluent in English and had in depth knowledge/expertise to share. We did learn that one must be flexible in Morocco and understand that the culture offered us opportunities to be less driven by strict timelines and more by the opportunities in the moment.

Long day but so interesting. Saw the gorge on this day and then Ait Ben Haddou as well. Ali worked with our needs and let us doing some shopping. Rose cooperative was not a particularly interesting stop. Great guide at Ait Ben Haddou. Found the experience at the movie location very disappointing. I would highly recommend skipping this part of the tour or find a better guide. I don’t think you can take private guides in there; we were in a huge group with a guide that was very lackluster.

Our van for the whole time was comfortable. AC worked very well.

Overall, had a good experience with Kimkim. I had good experience with our guide Mustapha. He had good understanding about what we wanted and that made a difference. Accommodations were overall good, except in one place where we had to walk a lot as vehicles were not allowed. Hopefully, they can get a place closer to where vehicles are allowed. Food was also good except in one place, Boumalne Dades at Rihana Dades which appeared to be expensive for the dinner and choice was not good; breakfast was also average here. We were able to see everything we wanted and happy to recommend to our friends. The only glitch we had was during the final plan, when we were told that Marrakech was not inour tour itinerary. this is the most important place. During planning, on Sep 26th there was a half day tour of Marrakesh. When they updated the trip plan to include Rabat instead of Chefchaouen, I thought other sections were not changed. Anyway, after landing , we decided to leave later in the afternoon the next day allowing for us to see Marrakech and in the end it worked out. Glad that we went to several cities within a week and Mustapha helped to achieve that.

Hicham, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with our gaggle of women. He was flexible and took everyone’s desires into his consideration. The best part of our trip was joining an Amazigh family in the Valley of Roses for couscous, music, and henna tattoos. I always loved seeing the sand dunes of the Sahara dessert.

Organizing a 16-day private tour with a dedicated driver through Morocco is no small feat, and we truly appreciate the efforts of Original Travels and the kimkim travel agency for making our journey memorable. The trip was well planned by Imane who provided excellent suggestions was in constant contact with out driver and was able to modify when changes needed to be made. We were able to see a large part of the country and had quality time in the sites we were interested in seeing.
Our driver, Soufian went above and beyond to make the trip convenient and to ensure our needs were met. He is a skilled driver and managed to calmly negotiate the chaos of busy cities, keeping a lookout for pedestrians, autos, busses, motorcycles and occasionally donkeys and carts. Furthermore, he spoke English well, shared information about the country and the Moroccan way of life. He has a great sense of humor but was never overbearing. He made sure we were comfortable, providing water and asking if we needed breaks throughout the trip. He made us feel confident about negotiating our travels and provided safety tips as well as an App to reach him. He was always prompt and provided the time we needed to tour areas of interest. As an older couple we never felt rushed. Further, Soufian ensured staff from the Rihad’s were available to guide us and assist with luggage through the narrow, cobbled Medinas. We were happy with our tour guides and enjoyed every single day of our trip.
While the detailed itinerary listed stops at Andalusian Gardens and the Musee des Oudias, we didn’t receive specific directions or information about these locations, and they were ultimately not included in our visits. Nevertheless, the trip was packed with unforgettable moments that far exceeded our expectations.
On October 26, 2025, in Marrakesh, Le Jardin Secret Garden was substituted for the Majorelle Gardens due to ticket availability issues. Although the trip was booked and paid for on September 2, 2025, it would have been helpful to be informed of any changes—such as this substitution—upon our arrival in Morocco, rather than at the time of the event. Similarly, the Moroccan storytelling scheduled at Café Clock was planned for a time when the activity was not available, which was a minor disappointment.
During the journey from Essaouira to Casablanca on October 29, stops at Safi, The Potter’s Capital, and El Jadida, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, were listed on the itinerary but were omitted without explanation. We believe that discussing any itinerary changes upon arrival would enhance the travel experience and avoid confusion later in the trip.
Despite these small hiccups, our overall experience was fantastic. The team went above and beyond to keep the car clean and provide bottled water daily, and their responsiveness to unexpected changes, such as rebooking our initial nights at Pestana Casablanca due to a soccer tournament, was impressive. We understand the complexities involved in organizing such an extensive tour and appreciate the attention to detail throughout our adventure.

Working with KimKim was easy to figure out and book. The trip was a whirlwind of activities that kept us engaged in various historic sites, cultural specialities and unique aspects of Morocco. Overall the hotel in Boulemane Dades and Desert were the best hotels, and the others were satisficatory for my stay. I would have appreciated more personalization on the tour based on our requests and interests. On some occasions I felt that we were taken to places that we thought we would like versus what we found of interest or value. I believe this may be related to "finding places to stop" to break up the long drive for a "lofty itinerary". At times, I felt pressured to buy items from vendors at various locations even though our driver said we did not have to- Moroccans are very good salespersons. I would have loved to spend more time hiking in the Dades region. Our guide in Fez, was fantastic. Our driver was prompt and kept us safe. Efficiency in our trip was very important to me as we were trying to pack a lot in one week. Our driver even helped me arrange a last minute hamman experience which I highly recommend!

Overall the trip was great, and these specificities and personalization each day would have allowed for me to savor what we like on a trip. -Corina

Would have been nice to stay or arrive earlier.

Sand-Boarding in Erg Chebbi (Free of Charge)

We did it, need to be on a steep enough grade for this to work. Start on butt first if you are scared and lean back, and be barefoot. Hard to turn like a snowboard, straight down. You can do 3-4 runs if you are willing to walk up the hill. Nice little workout. This will be a 20-30 minute activity.

Morocco Last Nomads Experience: Tea, Tales & Desert Adventures

Loved seeing the nomad populations, however our guide lacked knowledge and did not make much effort to educate us. The lunch was good at Cafe Zaid,- the egglpant dish in the clay was amazing,- berber pizza was not my favorite kind of pizza, yet interesting. Enjoyed the music and tea. Seemed like these places are set up for workers to come there and show us how these populations lived, but they do not reside their now. So some explanation of this would be helpful.

Lots of driving be prepared. Carpet Cooperative is nice, however was difficult to avoid a large purchase. Again research if this is something you want or not. Farm walk to the cooperative was quite lovely. Would really appreciate seeing the women who make these carpets versus the men who are the sales team. Could have skipped two stops: the Hollywood of the Atlas Mountains, and the store where they dress you up in scarves to look like a local. This would have given us more time in Boulemane Dades.

Hachim was absolutely fabulous as our local specialist. He consistently offered experiences and information that touched my heart deeply and also immersed me into the culture of Morocco. I am a longtime educator and only wish I could have recorded him as he skillfully explained what I was seeing, it's significance and connection to history/culture, and shared how Morracan families live in varied settings. He explained the economics, geography, the Muslim religion, and historical influences which was fascinating and made me want to learn more. I fell in love with the country and people. Hachim is an excellent teacher and invites his listener into learning.

I also want to remark on him personally. He offers a warm heart and hand making everyone around him feel welcome. When confronted with inconveniences or tour member needs/adjustments, he responded professionally and immediately making visitors feel heard and respected.

Our trip to Morocco was incredible from start to finish! KimKim made it very easy to plan the perfect trip, and everything was seamlessly coordinated throughout our trip. Our driver, Ilyace, was absolutely wonderful. He was punctual and very easy to get along with. Most importantly, he drove safely through mountain passes and winding roads. He ensured that we stopped to stretch our legs at interesting sites during our long travel days, and he brought us to fantastic and authentic Moroccan cuisine along the way. Our riads were beautiful (especially in Marrakesh and the camping experience in the desert), the food was incredible everywhere we went, and the tours were a great way to learn about the history of the cities.

Everything about this experience was incredible. Our visit started with a 2-hour camel ride to the camp site, then we were welcomed with tea and pastries on arrival. Our "tent" was perfect with all of the amenities we would need -- electrical outlets, full bathroom, heater (if needed), fans (if needed), comfortable bed, wifi. We were made to feel at home by the staff at the camp. We had delicious meals for breakfast and dinner (and they accommodated vegetarian preferences with delicious meal as well), followed by stargazing and a drum circle around a campfire. On our second day at the camp, the staff organized a tour for us around the desert and an ATV ride in the afternoon. Overall, this was incredibly special part of our trip, and we would highly recommend this experience.

We visited Morocco in October 2025 and had an amazing experience from Marrakech to Casablanca. Our car was clean, comfortable, and air-conditioned, and our driver Mostapha was fantastic. We had excellent local guides at every stop and stayed in beautiful Riads in Marrakech, Dades Valley, Fez and Chefchaouen, plus an unforgettable night in a desert camp in Merzouga–Erg Chebbi. Our local contact was Said from Original travels and he was very responsive. He offered us upgrades and other benefits throughout the trip. Great service, reasonable prices, and truly a 5-star experience. Highly recommend!

We saw so much from ruins to mosques to the cities and the camels in the desert. The markets were oh, so unique. It was good to see the countryside and the towns and cities and diversity.

Riad Touda in Marrakesh was beautiful and gorgeous. However, the room was darker than what I expected based on the pictures in the trip plan, which showed a bright yellow room. Our room had no windows to the outside, only to a courtyard, so it felt very dark. Despite this, it was a minor issue, and the rest of our stay was fine.

The Cooking Class at La Maison Arabe Marrakech was a wonderful experience. Despite some scheduling adjustments, it was amazing. We ended up going directly from the Hammam spa, which wasn't ideal initially but turned out fine. The class itself was enjoyable and quite enlightening.

We visited the Hassan II Mosque, which was the main reason we flew into Casablanca. Although our initial plan to visit was delayed due to lengthy immigration and customs clearance, we managed to visit the next morning. It was a highlight of our time in Casablanca, though from a scheduling perspective, there wasn't much flexibility.

Our girls trip to Morocco was truly the experience of a lifetime! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. Yassine did such an amazing job — he responded quickly, was so easy to work with, and took care of every detail. The hotels and riads he chose were beautiful, comfortable, and full of Moroccan charm.
Our driver, Younes, was incredible! He was always on time every morning, looked out for us everywhere we went, and made us feel safe and comfortable the entire trip. He wasn’t just a driver — he was a tour guide, translator, and a friend. His knowledge about Morocco, sense of humor, and positive energy made every day so much fun. He was a big part of what made this trip special.
In Fes, we met our guide Zahra who was fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and funny — we laughed with her all day. It honestly felt like we had known her for years. She had such a special way of connecting with us and bringing the city’s history to life. Spending the day with her was one of the highlights of our trip.
The entire experience went above and beyond our expectations. Everything ran smoothly, we felt cared for every step of the way, and we left Morocco with unforgettable memories and new friends. I can’t recommend this company enough.

There were a few things on the itinerary there wasn’t enough time to fit in based on the amount of driving, but that was ok our guide Moha was absolutely wonderful. He was knowledgeable, on time, and flexible to the itinerary. All details were handled so well between Hassan and Moha there was very little we had to be concerned with beyond enjoying the trip. Moha & Hassan enabled us to be extremely efficient with our time which is invaluable on an overseas trip. Will use KimKim again!
