We had a wonderful time on our trip to Morocco! Ali is the best travel agent I have ever worked with. He is very responsive and created a great itinerary y for us. The driver-guide was punctual, professional, had a clean car with AC and friendly. There was some variability with the local guides: the guide in Volubilis and Fez were good, but the one in Chefchaouen had limited knowledge of the local history. (We may have come in with high expectations as we were coming from Spain where we had guides who had graduate degrees in history or art history). We enjoyed staying at the Riads, with the exception of the riad in Fez. The Riad in Fez was beautiful but lacked in creature comforts: the beds were super firm, the towels in the bathrooms were worn out and the bread served at breakfast was stale. These details were surprising for a riad that is supposed to be 5-star! (We also strongly suspect we may have gotten food poisoning at this riad...). It would also have been helpful to have a better understanding of how much local crafts cost, it was unclear how we were supposed to attain that information. Nevertheless, we had an amazing trip to Morocco! Thank you!

This riad is beautiful but it lacks in creature comforts. The beds are super firm, which was a problem for us side sleepers (our hips hurt!). They put an extra comforter down for us but it only marginally improved comfort. The bathroom towels provided were old and worn. The toiletries weren't as nice as we were expecting for a 5-star place. At breakfast, we were served stale bread. Needless to say, we were disappointed.

Rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was solid (not memorable but that means it wasn't bad either :)). Our favorite part of this riad was the pool. They have you reserve an hour for your group, so it was private. This turned the experience into a really wonderful one! Its a beautiful pool and we enjoyed our time together there.

Dear Agnes,

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful feedback, I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

I'm absolutely glad to hear that you had a wonderful time exploring Morocco and that the itinerary, driver-guide, and many of the Riads lived up to your expectations. It was truly a pleasure working with you, and I’m especially honored by your kind words, being called the best travel agent you've worked with means a great deal to me!

That said, I want to sincerely apologize for the areas where the experience fell short. I completely understand your disappointment with the Riad in Fez. While it is indeed a beautiful and well-rated property, your feedback regarding the comfort of the beds, the quality of the towels and toiletries, and the breakfast experience is concerning and duly noted. I’ll be following up directly with the management of the Riad to ensure these issues are addressed and to reassess whether it remains a good fit for future travelers. I’m also very sorry to hear about the possibility of food-related illness and truly hope you recovered quickly.

Regarding the local guide in Chefchaouen, I appreciate your honest observation. Expectations matter greatly, and I understand how a less knowledgeable guide can affect the overall impression of a place. I’ll take this into account as I continue refining our network of guides to ensure more consistency in quality and depth.

Lastly, your point about pricing guidance for local crafts is a very helpful suggestion. I will work on including clearer guidance or a short orientation to help future travelers better navigate shopping experiences with confidence.

I'm truly glad to hear that the trip was overall a great experience for you. Your feedback will help me continue improving our services and ensuring that each trip is as seamless and enriching as possible.

Thank you again for your trust, and I hope to welcome you back to Morocco one day!

Warmest regards,
Ali

What made our trip so special though was not just these places...it was our driver, Tayeb. He expertly navigated mountain roads, through villages to the desert and back and, throughout our journey found the perfect stops for coffee and great lunch stops. He also made terrific dinner recommendations and always made sure we knew about the towns we were staying in. Above and beyond that, Tayeb was great company and made even the longest of our drives between cities go very quickly with his easy-to-get-along-with personality. If you have a driver as great as Tayeb, you'll have an amazing time exploring Morocco! I should also add that we had guides in both Fes and Marrakech...which are essential. The complex alleys and small roads makes it impossible for a visitor to navigate without expert guidance. Sharif was our guide in Fes and he was extremely knowledgeable about how to navigate the streets of Fes' marketplace. Mohammed was our guide in Marrakech and he, too, was an expert navigator and guide. Also, Said from Original Travel was extremely responsive throughout our journeys in Morocco...and we would not have had our amazing driver Tayeb or our amazing guides without him.

This Riad is in a very small town that we probably would not have stopped at on our own if we had designed every element of our itinerary by ourselves. I'm so glad our travel agent included this stop. The Riad looks unassuming on the outside (as most do) but there was a lovely pool, gardens to walk through in the back and the food was truly gourmet. It's decorated in a more modern way, and it was, overall, a lovely place to spend a night in between long travels between 2 larger cities.

From the moment we decided to book a tour of Morocco with KimKim, we were met with excellent customer care. The KimKim team, especially Said, was quick to respond and patiently answered our many questions and requests for customization. The website was great to use and served us well throughout the planning and during the trip.
Even before we embarked on our journey from Denver to Casablanca, Oussama, our driver/guide, was in contact with us and as soon as we touched down he efficiently navigated us towards him and the very comfortable van we would call ours for the next ten days. There was no doubt that we were in the best hands possible. Aside from being a kind and patient human, Oussama organically shared his love and knowledge of his beautiful country with us throughout the trip. He patiently accommodated our schedules and needs and answered a million questions. We added several excursions and each was superb. He matched us with Mohammed for a most insightful and delicious city and food tour in Marrakech; the next morning, we dove into a Hammam experience that my daughter called the absolute best thing that has ever happened to her, while my husband played golf at the oldest golf club in Morocco. We left Marrakech after three nights, following the lush green river valley to the striking peaks of the Atlas mountains to Imlil for one nicht. Again we were met by a knowledgeable guide who exposed us to the culture of his people and kindly opened up his house for a traditional lunch before continuing our hike to a waterfall through narrow, steep paths with amazing views. After a comfortable night at what seemed like our own private hotel (with pool), we left the peaks for the desert for two nights. Who thought we would be greeted with such comfort - the clamping in Agafay, as everything, exceeded our expectations. So did the ATV tour and Camel ride (with a baby camel in tow), followed by surfing and another Hammam in Essaouira… too many highlights to list. Every accomodation was great (with the Riad Le Pelerin in Marrakech being the most beautiful and special place we have ever stayed at), every restaurant recommendation, every place to stop to take in the sights - even when pressed, I could not come up with a ‘complaint’. This trip was the most memorable vacation we have ever taken with our family and the sounds, sights and tastes will be with us forever. We are already thinking about where we can go next and KimKim is on top of our list to guide us on our next adventure. Highly, highly recommend the company and their fantastic local partners. Again, big shout-out to Said and Oussama for a trip of a lifetime to North Africa.

Every aspect of the trip was carefully and beautifully curated. This was the first time that we took a trip organized by an agency.
Maryem was very responsive from the beginning of the planning and organized an amazing trip for our family of five. She planned an unforgettable trip beginning and ending in Marrakesh, with a 4 Day Loop across the Atlas mountains through Dades Valley into the desert. Every Riad and Kasbah we stayed at were great. The camel ride at sunset to the luxury camp under the stars was a highlight not only of this trip but of any trip we’ve taken.
Aside from the planning, the most valuable aspect of the trip was our driver and guide, Omar. He not only drove us safely from place to place and provided historical and cultural information on Morocco and the places we visited, but he exemplified the hospitality, sincerity and friendliness of the Moroccan people. He connected us with local guides in the specific places we visited, who were also great. We particularly enjoyed walking through some of the small villages and appreciating the local people, local food, local culture, music and economy.
During the trip, we were able to communicate with Maryem to tweak our itinerary, which we left flexible (purposefully) for the final day and a half. We spent a 1/2 day with Omar, appreciating the Jardin Majorelle, Berber Museum and Yves Saint Laurent museum.
Overall, it was an unforgettable eight days in Morocco and we are looking forward to returning again with the same agencies (Morocco Imersion) and Kim Kim.

We returned to the US last week after one of the most memorable travel trips to Morocco. The cities we visited between Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Marrakech and everything in between from the Roman ruins at Volubilis, through the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Desert, were a unique and fascinating experience. Morocco had everything to offer from the unique local culture and people to its ancient history, historical buildings, architecture, fossils, great food and friendly locals. The guides at all the locations were excellent and knowledgeable. The Riads were stayed in were very different from anything we have experienced, starting with their location in narrow, winding streets, to the unique architecture and their friendly, prompt service. This is a country we will return to at some point in the future.

A special mention of our driver Muhammad who stayed with through the entire trip. He was outstanding in every respect. He is an excellent driver, always followed all road rules, was courteous to other drivers, and always positive and enthusiastic. He was always attentive to our needs, showed us numerous sites along the travel route, and was friendly, courteous, extremely respectful to us and always made sure we were well taken care of. We came to know him and his family through wonderful conversations throughout the trip which especially made days with long drives, go by quickly. With local friends he has in every stop along the way, he is a great ambassador to Morocco explaining various aspects of the culture, language, food habits which really gave us a sense of the country and its people, beyond just visiting the typical tourist places. We would highly recommend him to any future visitors to Morocco.

Our day in Merzouga desert was well organized. My wife recognized her problem with vertigo (5 minutes on the camel's back) and tested her endurance by walking for one hour in the sand before getting in a car for the rest of the "camel ride".
All in all, we are very satisfied with the trip. 10/10 for the team + 12/10 for our driver/guide Khalid.
Thank you to all.

I travelled to Morocco with my wife and 11 year old son. On our trip to Morocco, we travelled from Casablanca to Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes, Fes and returned to Casablanca for our flight home. We had a 5 day itinerary that was well planned by the travel agency. The travel agency organized the private driver, hotels and the private guides. Overall, it was an interesting cultural experience (coming from US) to see an Islamic country and places that have been around for much longer than the USA.

For me the top 5 sights: the variety of Riads we stayed in to understand what is actually inside a traditional islamic home, the Challah (old fortress with Roman and Islamic ruins), Volubilis, Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail in Meknes (restored version of a Islamic Palace which was commonly seen in the palace ruins in southern Spain), and Fes Medina, which really gave engrained what life is/was like in the Moroccan Medinas.

A few positives:
- We stay in Riads for most nights. This was a very unique opportunity to see what it is like inside the "wealthy" homes. Both Riad Kalaa (Rabat) and Riad Lina (Chefchaouen) were nice.
- The breakfast at Riad Kalaa was by far the best.
- There was a reservable pool in Riad Lina that was magical.
- We wanted to buy local handicrafts and the local guides provided to us were knowledgeable about the best place to go (i.e. not the tourist locations). For example, in Chefchaouen, Bilal took us to a consignment store to find a Berber rug. In Fes, Cherif took us to a back back back alley in the Fes souks to get high quality Argan oil.
- Our driver, Reda, was very professional, which included 1) (most important) he was polite and respectful, 2) timely / almost always early), 3) knew where he was going and how long it would take, 4) was a safe driver following rules of the road. Reda was also able to schedule some things last minute, like a dinner and a traditional Moroccan show in Fes. This was a nice surprise for us.

A few negatives:
- Our itinerary was tight and the travel between locations were 3-5 hours each. Using a car was the only way to travel between the cities. On one hand, we could have extended stay in each location to break up the driving, but there isn't much to do in each location, so I think we would have gotten restless. Simply a tradeoff and probably I would do it this way again if I were to repeat.
- Riad Salam in Fes was by far the prettiest (16 years of restoration), but also the least comfortable. During our trip (we travelled in Spain prior to the trip to Morocco), we stay in 7 hotels; Riad Salam, was by far the the least comfortable. The mattress was extremely firm, the towels were lower quality than Amazon Basics. The A/C was not functioning correctly. And the breakfast was the worst out of the three Riads - they prioritized quantity over quality. I would not recommend staying there.
- The Hassan II mosque in Casablanca is about the only thing to do in in the city. Certainly interesting for a non-muslim to go into a practicing mosque. However, the guided tour was not very good (note that they were provided by the site rather than someone picked by tour agency).

Final Note: My rating for the local specialist covers all the people we worked with. Ali was only involved in planning. We had a operations person assigned (Said), but we never needed to talk with him. Reda was our only point of contact through out the trip.

Hotel Reviews
Riad Salam Fes
Fes

- Beautiful - Comfort was not a priority. - Beds were extremely uncomfortable. - AC was not functioning well. - Towels were poor quality. We had to use the same towels for bathroom and pool. - Breakfast (provided) was not very good compared to other places. Similar to the rest, quality of food was not a priority. Instead the prioritized quantity and it felt like a lot of the food would be thrown away.

Dear William,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your journey through Morocco. We're truly glad to hear that the trip was an enriching cultural experience for your family, and that the itinerary offered you a meaningful glimpse into Morocco’s diverse history, architecture, and traditions.

We’re especially pleased that Reda made such a positive impact on your experience, your kind words about his professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail are greatly appreciated and will certainly be shared with him. It’s also wonderful to hear that Bilal and Cherif guided you to more authentic places for local handicrafts, which is always a goal we strive for, avoiding tourist traps and connecting travelers with genuine craftsmanship.

We do appreciate your candid feedback about Riad Salam in Fes. We’re sorry to hear that the comfort level didn’t meet your expectations, and your comments on the mattress, A/C, and breakfast will help us reevaluate our recommendations moving forward. Your note about the guided tour at the Hassan II Mosque is also noted, indeed, the on-site guides are assigned by the mosque directly, but we will continue to share this insight with future travelers to help manage expectations.

Finally, while I'm glad I could support in the planning stages, it’s great to hear that you felt fully supported throughout the journey, especially by Reda. I’m happy the logistics ran smoothly, and that even last-minute additions, like the dinner and traditional show in Fes, helped elevate the experience.

Thank you again for choosing to travel with us and for sharing such balanced, helpful reflections. We'd love to welcome you back anytime if you ever wish to explore more of Morocco or beyond!

The trip was absolutely amazing. It was a perfect introduction to Morocco. We inquired with the team and they were very considerate of what we wanted to see and really listened to us. They worked with us prior to the trip and made sure we understood the landscape of Morocco and provided suggestions based on our preferences. Nihad was the one who curated our itinerary and was always available. Sharon also took the time to meet with me via Zoom so we can easily discuss our trip. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by our driver Rachid who was very pleasant and answered our questions and of course, a very skillful and safe driver. He coordinated with our Riad to meet us and help us with our luggages. Our Marrakech Medina Walking Tour Guide was Hassan and he was very knowledgeable and patient with our questions and waiting for us as we took time to take photos. We learned so much about the culture and the people. We had to switch drivers/guides the following day and it was Ahmed who took care of us the rest of the trip. He was a careful driver and with really good taste in music. We truly enjoyed his playlist. He truly acted like our concierge during our camel ride and dinner at Agafay desert as well as our dinner at La Boheme - a truly wonderful evening.
The rest of the trip was spent in Essaouira and Ahmed suggested places to eat and where to hang out for evening drinks. Afterwards, he really took care of us through our long drive to Casablanca for our return flight.
I also would like to mention Abderrahman who coordinated with us also as we transitioned between guides and drivers. Everyone was very accommodating and was always available for anything that we need. Highly recommended!

This Riad was only open for about a month at the time of our 2-night stay. What a lovely place. It is family owned and run by a mother-daughter team. They are so proud of what they have created and have thought of so many details (I'll mention a cute surprise for your comfort when you enter your room, but don't want to ruin the surprise! ;) ) If interested, they are more than happy to tell you the story from purchasing, years of remodeling to finally realizing their dream of opening. The courtyard is beautiful, complete with a fountain, pool and 3 turtles (we could only find one, but he was out for a while milling around!) There are plenty of dining room options, from indoors to out and even from the rooftop patio. We could tell the furnishings had been chosen with care. The service was great as all staff really is so excited to please. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely visit again on our next trip to Fes.

Tiziri Luxury Camp
Merzouga

What a fun experience and so different from staying at a hotel or riad. These are well-adorned tents, complete with private sinks, showers and toilets. The decor is darling and in-line with what the local nomadic Amazigh people would use. There is a heater for the winter months and a fan for the summer months. All electricity (including water pumps) are solar powered, so expect to use as little electricity as possible (iPad, phone, laptop to your heart's content, but no hair dryers allowed as it will blow the entire system). It also should be noted that there is no A/C. We stayed 2 nights towards the end of May and it was getting hot. Generally speaking, you're out seeing other things, away from camp, during the day when temperatures peak, so the heat wasn't a problem for us, but one may just want to be aware to set expectations. We definitely made use of open windows and the fan during the evening and slept like babies. The staff here was eager to please and very proud of their service level. They are also very excited to play traditional Amazigh music for everyone at night for entertainment. We tried sandboarding (with success!!) a couple of times using the board they offered on site. We enjoyed breakfast and dinners during our stay and did not walk away hungry. Star gazing for days (nor nights I guess I should say) We would definitely stay here on our next trip to Mergouza.

This riad was nice, but needs a little updating (VERY worn towels, patio/pool area furniture outdated/worn, etc). If you don't choose to stay here, though, you should DEFINITELY eat at the adjoining restaurant that is run by the same brothers. The chef is incredible, especially if you need a little break from typical Moroccan food. We ate combinations not thought imaginable and asked our waiter for at least 3 of the recipes (and we only stayed 1 night!). We lost count of how many courses there were for dinner. And breakfast was equally as delicious.

Landed in Casablanca and met up with our driver Tarik. First stop the Hassan II mosque. The only reason for our stop in Casablanca was to see the mosque firsthand. Hindsight though, it might be worth a day to explore the city. The tour of Hassan was worth every minute of our time. Absolutely beautiful to say the very least.

After our tour we continued to the city of Rabat. Was not at all what we expected. It is one of the cleanest cities we have ever visited. Quite amazing. Our Riad was also excellent, and the location was perfect. The next morning, we had a private tour of the sights of Rabat with Hassania. The tour was informative, and we received a full array of the important sights with the capital city including the Kings palace. Some of the architecture was very modern as well including the Mohammed IV tower and the Grand Theater. Truly remarkable.

During the afternoon, we trekked onto the next stop of Chefchaouen the blue city. We checked in to our hotel the "Dar Jasmine". This boutique hotel was perched atop a significant hillside, and there were approximately 300 steps to reach the top. A little daunting, although the view of the city was breathtaking and worth the climb. The city itself is very quaint and charming. We explored the small streets and restaurants.

The next day, we had a lovely drive through the Moroccan countryside heading to Fes. The following morning, we had a four-hour private tour with Sharif. Visiting The Royal Palace, Mellah, Al-Qarawiyyin: The World's First University and some local artisans of pottery and the likes. The highlight of course was wandering with Sharif through the tiny alleyways and streets in the souk. Again, an amazing experience seeing what the vendors have to offer. Pretty well everything including the kitchen sink.

That afternoon we were afforded the luxury of a massage and Hammam at our Riad. It was quite the experience. Never had my body exfoliated with coffee grinds. It was exhilarating.

The following day we endured an eight-hour drive form the mountains to the desert. On our way for a camel trek and sunset in the Western Sahara Desert. This was without question one of the highlights of our trip. The camels were amazing. Very well cared for, and exceptionally intelligent. Fortunately, just prior to our arrival it had rained slightly which compacted the sandy desert top layer. It darkened the colour of the sand slightly which made for some incredible photos. After our camel trek to the spot where we watched the sunset, we decided to take the 4X4 to the Tiziri Camp. Quite the exciting drive with our experienced driver.

The camp was pretty cool. The tents were quite large and comfortable. That evening we enjoyed an awesome traditional dinner with tajine's and all. In the morning, we rose at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise. Again, truly remarkable. Overall, we had two exceptionally long days but worth all the pain by far.

The next leg of our journey took us to Boumalne Dades and Aït Benhaddou. The drive afforded us to see the many Oasis nestled within the valleys of the desert mountains. The sights were amazing. My wife was hoping to see the festival of roses, but by the time we made it was unfortunately over already. We drove through the "valley of a thousand Kasbahs". When you think about this, a Kasbah is a military fortress. Today, these Kasbahs serve as small communities within each area. The very essence of community is quite apparent. Something we found right throughout the country. Especially in the areas away from the big cities.

Next stop, Marrakesh. We spent 4 days in this vibrant city. The first day, we had a morning tour with Hassania enabling us to get a feel for the surroundings. The Souks in the ancient Medina were incredible and a little daunting as we could see how easy it would be to get lost within the alleyways. That evening we embarked on a second tour with the same guide Hassania. This tour was focused on food within the market and souks. We visited several different food vendors - restaurants. What really stood out was how much food was prepared for us. You must bring an appetite to this tour. The range of food consisted of homemade traditional soup, donuts (three generations of ownership), snails in the market and chicken and lamb prepared in an underground smoker - barbecue at Chez Lamine. All so very tasty.

Next morning, once again up well before dawn. We are to embark on a sunrise hot-air balloon ride. Now for someone that is terrified of heights, I thought it may have been an issue. Once we got in and up and away it was no problem whatsoever. Our pilot was a definite expert in his craft of navigating huge balloon. The vistas and scenery were breathtaking. Certainly, a must do for anyone. It was an incredible experience and the photo opportunities endless.

That same afternoon, we were transferred by our trusty driver Tarik to "La Maison L'Arabe. A prestigious hotel where they conduct Moroccan cooking classes. We cooked a tajine dish, learned how to make a rose from the peel of a tomatoe, and prepared a couple of different Moroccan salads. It was so much fun, and I must admit it was all very tasty. With a full belly and new skills, we went back to our riad to rest.

The next morning, off to the airport for final leg of our trip.

In summary, I would highly recommend KimKim to any travellers that want a worry-free experience. The ease of all aspects of our trip can be attested to the professionalism of the staff at KimKim especially including the on-site staff of Original Travels (Said and Mohamed).
All the accommodations, tours and the guides were first rate. One thing I must point out, our driver for the two weeks, Tarik was nothing less than amazing. He took our safety first. He was engaged with our entire group of four. He ensured our itinerary was followed to the letter. He was accommodating when we wanted to make slight changes. He was so engaging and helpful with every aspect of the trip. His communication to us with respect to timing for pick ups and drop offs was excellent. He never pressured us whatsoever. We cannot say enough about the way he treated us. He will be missed.

The only real downside to all of this is we were perhaps a little too ambitious with our itinerary. This was absolutely no fault to KimKim or Original Travels. This is solely on us. Seeing that this was our second trip through KimKim we will take that away as a positive for our next trip.

**A Life-Changing Journey Through Morocco — Thanks to Our Incredible Driver, Oussama**

We just returned from a two-week journey across Morocco — starting in Marrakesh, traveling over 2,300 miles through cities, deserts, mountains, and coastlines, and ending in Casablanca. It was a truly life-changing experience.

Each day brought something new: the rich history of each town, vibrant markets, stunning architecture, and the diverse natural beauty of the country. We were constantly in awe — from Morocco’s self-sustaining agricultural systems to the deep pride and resilience of its people. And while the sites and guides were excellent, the heart of our experience — the person who brought it all together — was our private driver, **Oussama**.

**Oussama Made Our Trip Unforgettable**

For 14 days, Oussama was more than just a driver — he was our guide, translator, cultural ambassador, and, by the end, a friend. Always punctual, calm, and professional, he made every moment of our journey feel smooth and stress-free. His car was impeccably clean and comfortable, and his confident, careful driving helped us relax — even on winding mountain roads.

Oussama speaks flawless English (as well as several other languages), making communication seamless. His warm personality and great sense of humor made even the longest drives enjoyable and fun.

But what really set him apart was how deeply he cared about making our experience perfect. He took time to understand our priorities and thoughtfully enhanced them — suggesting meaningful additions, coordinating with local guides, and ensuring every transition was effortless. He took my "must-see/must-do" list, which included an illusive taste of camel's milk, and checked off each request throughout the trip. He worked behind the scenes — calling ahead to hotels so bellmen would be waiting, or helping us get fair prices in the markets — always with quiet grace and without drawing attention to himself.

As a proud member of the Berber community, Oussama brought Morocco’s culture and history to life in a deeply personal way. His stories, insights, and perspectives enriched our understanding far beyond what we could have read or heard elsewhere.

One of the most touching moments came after our trip had ended and we had just landed in the USA — Oussama checked in one last time to make sure we arrived home safely. That small act of kindness perfectly captures who he is: thoughtful, reliable, and genuinely invested in the people he serves.

**If You’re Traveling to Morocco — Book Oussama**

If you're planning a trip to Morocco and want more than just a driver — if you want someone who will elevate your experience, care deeply about your journey, and treat you like family — **Oussama is the one**. We recommend him wholeheartedly.

**A Perfect Stay at Le Pelerin – Unforgettable Experience!** Our stay at **Le Pelerin** in Marrakech was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable visit. The riad is **eloquently decorated**, blending traditional Moroccan charm with tasteful modern touches. Every corner felt thoughtfully curated, and the ambiance was both tranquil and inspiring. The rooms were **immaculately clean**, fresh, and beautifully designed, providing the perfect retreat after exploring the vibrant streets of Marrakech. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the **outstanding staff**. Special thanks to **Rachida**, the incredibly talented chef whose breakfasts and dinners were **the best we had in Marrakech**—rich in flavor, authentic, and beautifully presented. Each meal felt like a celebration of Moroccan cuisine. We were also deeply impressed by **Abdelkarim (Obdel?), Ismail, and Rachid**, (I apologize about the spellings of names) who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Their courteous and attentive service made us feel truly cared for. One of the highlights of our trip was a **private cooking class** arranged through the riad—something I had hoped to experience, and the staff accommodated this request seamlessly and with enthusiasm. It's rare to find a place that is run so perfectly, where every detail is managed with care and professionalism. I simply can't say enough good things about Le Pelerin. If you're looking for a serene, authentic, and luxurious stay in Marrakech, **this is the place**. We will absolutely return!

**An Enchanting Experience at Ksar El Kabbaba – Hospitality and Heart in Every Detail** Our stay at **Ksar El Kabbaba** was a truly unforgettable experience, filled with authenticity, warmth, and extraordinary hospitality. Nestled near the heart of an oasis, this beautiful property combines the magic of Moroccan architecture with the serenity of its natural surroundings. We were incredibly fortunate to have **Badr** as our guide during our visit. His tour of the oasis and the nearby village was nothing short of fascinating. He shared in-depth knowledge about how the oasis is managed—from how water is shared and land is divided, to how local disputes are resolved. His passion for **organic farming** and educating the local community about sustainable practices and the value of their land was inspiring. One of the highlights of the tour was a visit to a local **potter**, where we witnessed the entire process—from gathering soil and making clay to crafting, firing, and transporting the finished pottery to market. It was a rare, immersive glimpse into local artisan life. At the Ksar itself, **Ibrahim**, the waiter who looked after us during every meal, deserves special recognition. His service was **impeccable**—he anticipated our every need and treated us with such grace and care that we truly felt like royalty. Ibrahim’s warmth and professionalism left a lasting impression. Another standout was **Lahsan**, the young man who welcomed us with a detailed and heartfelt tour of the Ksar. His pride in the history and beauty of the property was evident, and his introduction set the tone for the rest of our incredible stay. Ksar El Kabbaba is more than just a place to stay—**it’s an experience** that connects you with the land, the people, and the traditions of Morocco. We left feeling deeply enriched and grateful. Highly recommended for travelers seeking meaningful, luxurious, and culturally rich experiences.

Tiziri Luxury Camp
Merzouga

**The Coolest Place We Stayed – A Desert Dream Come True** If you're looking for an experience that blends **luxury, authenticity, and heart**, this desert camp is it. From start to finish, it was truly magical—**unlike anything we've done before**. The journey begins at a hotel staging area with a refreshing swimming pool—perfect for a quick dip if it’s too hot for the camels to head to camp. But once the sun dips just enough, you’ll mount your camel and begin the most **mesmerizing trek** through golden dunes. Halfway to the camp, we paused to watch the **sunset melt into the sand**, a moment of absolute stillness and beauty. From there, you can choose a 4x4 ride or keep going by camel—**we highly recommend the camel ride all the way**. It’s slow, rhythmic, and allows you to truly absorb the silence and majesty of the Sahara. Upon arrival at the camp, we were met with **appetizers and warm smiles**—regardless of the time of arrival. The vibe was laid-back and welcoming, like stepping into a time warp of sorts. It reminded me of the **peaceful, love-filled spirit of the 1960s**—where time slows down, no one's in a rush, and the only schedule that matters is your own. That said, everything still ran smoothly—meals were served when everyone was ready, and **what meals they were!** **Fatima**, the camp chef, deserves a standing ovation. Her dishes were **scrumptious, heartfelt, and clearly made with care**. Every bite felt like a celebration of Moroccan flavors. The **watchmen of the camp** were equally remarkable—multi-talented, gracious, and always in motion. From carrying luggage to serving meals, sweeping sand from the rugs, and offering **joyful Berber music under the stars**, they created a seamless and unforgettable experience. Huge thanks and kudos to **Lahcen (Hossan), Ibrahim, Hamid, and of course, Fatima** the chef. There were others whose names we didn’t catch, but they were equally wonderful. And don’t forget to **order a bottle of Moroccan wine** with dinner—it’s surprisingly good and the perfect accompaniment to a meal under the stars. This wasn’t just a place to sleep—it was **a vibe, a feeling, a memory** we’ll always hold close. A peaceful, easy feeling that captures the true heart of Morocco.

Fantastic Culinary Experience at La Maison Arabe Our time at La Maison Arabe Cooking School was one of the most enjoyable and enriching parts of our stay in Marrakech. The class was extremely well organized, striking the perfect balance between instruction and hands-on experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was thoughtfully prepared. The chefs and instructors were professional, friendly, and made the whole process easy to follow, even for those with little kitchen experience. We appreciated how the class walked us through traditional Moroccan recipes step by step, and gave us plenty of time to ask questions and really get involved. The best part? It wasn’t just a demo—we each had our own workstation and were fully hands-on, making everything from scratch. At the end of the class, we sat down to enjoy our meal together, and it was absolutely delicious. They also provided printed recipes to take home, which was a wonderful touch and will allow us to recreate the magic back in our own kitchens. If you're interested in Moroccan cuisine, La Maison Arabe’s cooking school is a must-do. A fun, flavorful, and beautifully run experience!

A Truly Wonderful Potter – Talented, Kind, and Joyful Meeting this potter was an absolute highlight! He is genuinely one of the nicest, happiest, and most talented artisans we’ve encountered. With great patience and kindness, he showed us the entire process—from gathering the soil, breaking it down, making the clay, to helping me throw a pot myself. It was such a hands-on and memorable experience. He didn’t stop there—he went on to explain and demonstrate how he fires his works, sharing his craft with such passion and gentleness. An Unforgettable Family Adventure in Morocco with Original Travels

We spent 12 unforgettable days exploring Morocco as a family of four (two adults and two kids), and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience, thanks to Original Travels. From start to finish, our driver Samir Gemmaoui was with us throughout the journey—and he truly made the trip special.

To be honest, we initially hesitated about hiring a travel company. We had considered renting a car and driving ourselves, but looking back, we’re so glad we decided to go with Original Travels. Having Samir with us was absolutely invaluable. His knowledge of the country, the roads, and the local language made everything easier, smoother, and far more enriching. We were able to relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about logistics.

Samir guided us through several amazing cities, including a magical trip to the Sahara Desert. Riding camels through the dunes was a highlight, especially for the kids. One of the most memorable moments was being invited to dine with a local family—hands down the best meal of the trip, and such a warm, authentic experience.

Our favorite city overall was Fez. We loved exploring the markets and getting immersed in the local culture. Yes, there was a fair amount of driving involved because we wanted to see so much of the country, but Samir made it feel easy. He was flexible, attentive, and always made sure we were comfortable, adjusting the schedule as needed.

We highly recommend Original Travels to anyone planning a trip to Morocco. Their service and hospitality turned our vacation into a truly amazing experience that we’ll never forget.

I highly recommend using KimKim instead of trying to patch up things separately through other travel sites. There is a real advantage in having someone liaise with local travel companies, riads and tour guides. Saves time and is much less stressful!! We were lucky with Mohamed as our driver. Always upbeat, cheerful and on time and ready with good local advice of things to do and see. A real pleasure to spend all that car time with Mohamed and find out more about his homeland. We had some great conversations and laughs. Mohamed made this a really special trip. Cant thank him enough for taking care of us. Our guides in Casablanca, Meknes, Fes and Marrakesh were all well informed, committed and passionate about their cities, their history and distinctive culture and craftspersons. A great learning tour and introduction to Morocco. Would love to go back and explore other areas - so much to see and experience.

A lovely quiet riad not too far from the car dropoff point. Had the best viennoiseries for breakfast - really fresh and fluffy! Comfortable room and great bathroom. Enjoyed the rooftop and the lounging chair and table outside our room. Beautiful courtyard, airy and light. A great experience.

True glamping in the desert. Did not expect a real shower, bathtub and toilet. All with running hot and cold water. Very comfortable. Impressed with the food - catering out in the desert cant be easy and to provide such a variety of dishes for breakfast and dinner is a real feat. Food was delicious and fresh. Nice area after dinner to listen to music and look up at the desert sky. Would recommend at least two nights there. During the second day, we were booked for quad biking in the dunes and we were given the courtesy of a day room at the Nasser Palace (same ownership?), which had a lovely refreshing pool to dip and sit in till the afternoon expedition. This was a real treat. To just relax by a pool and have lunch to avoid the heat.

Conveniently located, not far from the car drop off point. We had a lovely top floor room with a private outdoor balcony/rooftop space. Very comfortable and clean and cool. Thank goodness for AC!!! (it hit 40 degrees plus while were were there!) Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy to find and go to and from. Nice to sit on the ground floor in the courtyard and just chill out. Quiet and relaxing.

Enjoyed our tour immensely with local guide. The medina is such a labaryinth - you really need a local to take you through. Such a special medina. All those different sections, spices, butchers, herbalists, tanneries! Not to mention the madrassas, mosques and other historic places.

Highly recommend at least two nights in the desert. So special. Nothing like it. Had beautiful weather day of arrival and a leisurely camel walk into the sunset. The second day we experienced a sand storm - so really appreciate the landscape and the way it can change so suddenly.

With this tour you really appreciate the landscape and the difficulty of travelling over it. It's a bit awkward or strange to visit a Berber village - yes, a little touristy, but you do get an appreciation of the hardships of living in this harsh environment, and understand why some have chosen to live in a village instead of continuing life as a nomad.

Son and hubby loved the experience of zooming up and down the dunes on the quad bikes. They are heavy and quite stable. I'm a total wuss. So relieved when the tour guide took over for me. Got to appreciate the vastness of the desert. Goes on till through to the horizon. Quite amazing.

This was our first introduction to Morocco. A lot to learn and absorb - especially when one doesnt have any background in Moroccan history. The Hassan II Mosque is a must see. The scale and the workmanship is outstanding. Intricate and stunningly beautiful. And one of the very few mosques in the world where non-Moslems may visit. There is a museum in the medina on the history of Casablanca - worth stopping and spending more time here.

Fascinating roman ruins. Our guide was a little rushed. But you can wander and go at your own pace. It is a big site. Who knew that the largest Roman ruins in North Africa are here! Some well preserved mosaic floors. You're in the sun, with no shade. So wear a hat!

Really enjoyed our local guide Hanyn. This was a "must do" tour - got to eat some real local foods and was able to recreate our steps and go back the next day to some of our favorite stalls. Loved the fresh mesmen pancakes, yoghurt drink and traditional harira soup. Lots to eat and taste. Be adventurous - snails, stews and stuffed pitas. Go with an appetite. Guide was very attentive to allergies. Lots of fun and an opportunity to try some real local food. Not just for tourists!

Lovely former royal city. Enjoyed our walk around and exploration of the medina. Our tour was on a Friday - so many shops closed - keep in mind that on Fridays one may have to adjust one's schedule to take into account noon prayers, etc. Our guide was really interesting and knowledgeable. Nice smaller city to roam around. Not so crowded!

A great introduction to Marrakesh and its medina. Hanyn was very informative and gave us a lot of history and cultural perspective. There's lots to see - only a question of how much stamina one has to see it all! All the palaces and madrassas were so beautiful - easy to get overwhelmed by the tilework and painted ceilings.
