Imane Ouriche
I'm Imane, a travel designer from Agadir, on Morocco's Atlantic coast. I grew up between the ocean and the argan valleys of the Souss, and when I miss home, I still drive those roads: the flamingos standing in the estuary at dawn, the honey road winding through the Anti-Atlas, villages that smell of thyme and wild herbs. That's my Morocco, and it taught me what a place feels like when you belong to it. My work is giving travelers that same feeling in a country that isn't theirs yet.
I design journeys the way I'd prepare for guests in my own home: every detail considered before you arrive. The room that suits how you sleep, the pace that suits how you travel, the table booked before you knew you'd be hungry. My travelers tell me the trip felt effortless. It wasn't. It was prepared with care, which is different, and better.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I design across all of Morocco: the Atlas Mountains, the imperial cities with their medieval medinas, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, and the Sahara, where a night under the desert stars still amazes me after all these years. Being from Agadir, I have a special intimacy with the coast, from Essaouira's blue boats to the wild Souss, and with the south that most itineraries miss. My favorite work is private and family journeys where every detail is shaped to the traveler: immersive, unhurried, and full of the real daily life of my country.

How did you get involved in travel?
"By a lucky accident. I was an English studies student when a group of international students came to Morocco on a cultural exchange, and I volunteered to show them around: the markets, the old cities, the stories behind the walls. Watching Morocco through their eyes was like seeing my own country for the first time. Their questions never stopped, and I never wanted them to. By the end of that exchange I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I trained inside local travel agencies to learn the craft properly, and I've been designing journeys ever since."

"My very first tour working in Moroccan tourism, crossing the country with a group of travelers, and our driver was a woman. In an industry that is still mostly male, nobody expected that, not the travelers and honestly not me. Watching her command those mountain roads quietly changed something for everyone in the vehicle.
That journey had everything I now try to build into my trips: strangers becoming friends over shared meals, hidden places found by asking locals instead of maps, and the feeling of a country opening up because someone from it opened the door. But what I carry from it most is her, at the wheel. It reminded me that Morocco is changing, that I am part of that change, and that travel, done right, transforms the people on both sides of the welcome."
