Nihad Hammi

I am Nihad, your travel specialist here in Morocco. As a Moroccan born and raised in Tinghir, I bring a unique perspective to my role as a travel specialist. My deep connection to the rich cultural tapestry of Morocco, especially Tinghir, allows me to weave authentic and immersive experiences into your travel plans.

My goal is to create immersive adventures full of cultural richness and unique moments just for you. I enjoy crafting detailed itinerary that ensure your travels aren't just trips, but transformative experiences and unforgettable journeys.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"From classic immersions to off-the-beaten-path adventures, we ensure each trip is a perfect blend of discovery and relaxation. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or a food connoisseur, we will customize your trip to meet your interests. Our trips include historical tours, cultural tours, hiking, trekking, cooking classes, local experiences, and much more! "

How did you get involved in travel?

"My journey into the tourism industry was inspired by my uncle, who worked in the same sector. Growing up, I was surrounded by tourists, fostering an early connection with the world of travel. After I got my baccalaureate, I decided to pursue my higher education in English studies. My eagerness to engage with native speakers and my childhood curiosity about other cultures only deepened my passion for tourism. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"My most unforgettable travel memory was when a friend asked me to be their tour guide to Boumalne Dades, a region not too far from my home in Tinghir. Surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes and watching travelers marvel at the beauty of the Dades Valley was a game-changer. Their joy and curiosity fueled my passion for tourism even more. It was a defining moment that I'll always cherish."

From the accommodations to the tours and unique experiences, everything was unforgettable and allowed us to experience Moroccan culture in a meaningful way.
We shared lunch with the Berbers, hiked the Atlas Mountains, explored the Agafay Desert by camel and quad bike, wandered through the souks of Marrakech, relaxed in a hammam, and enjoyed the most delicious tagine meal prepared in the home of a Moroccan chef.
Our guided tour of Marrakech with Hicham was incredibly informative, and we learned so much about the history of North Africa. Omar, our tour manager, treated us like family. We had an amazing time with him and gained an even deeper appreciation for Moroccan culture. Throughout the trip, we felt safe, well cared for, and truly welcomed—we already miss him.
I cannot recommend this group enough, and we will definitely be using their services again in the future.

Our trip to Morocco was marvelous on all counts--seriously! This was in large part due to the communication with the local travel specialist, Nihad, who planned the trip exactly according to our preferences, and the remarkable warmth, dependability and excellent communication with our driver, Ahmed, who was with us for 12 days. The kimkim site requires an extensive questionaire to be completed, which was very helpful in understanding how/what we wanted from our trip. We wanted to learn about the history, culture, food, and local customs. We wanted to go to multiple large cities and small towns (Rabat, Tangier, Chefchaouen, Fes, and Marrakesh), and also see the Atlas mountains, the Sahara Desert, and local villages. Thanks to kimkim, Nihad, and our fantastic driver, Ahmed, we got to do all of that.

Ahmed was very responsible and kept up with potential weather concerns. As we we were about to go through the mountains, there was a lot of snow. Ahmed rerouted us, and while we forwent a couple of stops (to Ifrane, for one), we still had a breathtaking drive, and several informative stops along the way. We went to an incredible fossil museum where Ahmed had arranged a very informative and eye opening tour with a paleontologist, a local visit to Tinghir, where another local contact of Ahmed, Abdullah, we met a teacher and her family living in a village that was largely abandoned, but where no money changed hands and we learned about the local crops (palm dates, alfalfa, and other plants) that villagers tended collectively. One more crucial detail: Ahmed introduced us to a whole range of Saharan music, Amazigh musicians, and Gnaoua music--these were great soundtracks on our multiple days of long drives throughout the country.

We stayed exclusively in riads along the way. All of the riads were beautiful, some of them intricately renovated. We had great private rooms with excellent hot functioning showers. The hotel staff was, without fail, warm and welcoming--in every riad. Our breakfasts in each riad were excellent. In places where dinner would be hard to obtain, dinner had already arranged as part of the tour--another detail taken care of through kimkim. The one place where our riad was a bit uncomfortable was in Marrakesh (but the hotel staff and food were excellent!), The Riad La Croix Berbere Deluxe was billed as a suite, but it was a room with a connecting bridge that looked into our neighbors' room and their "living area". It was very noisy, because if the neighbors were in their living area and talking, we could see them and hear them. The "suite" was not private, unless you shut yourself in the bedroom, which was so small there was no room for luggage. I would recommend that this riad not be used in the future (again, though, the staff was marvelous).

In conclusion, we had a fantastic trip and will definitely use kimkim in the future. This was our first experience with kimkim and, having used the service once, we feel more comfortable in crafting our next adventure with this company. The cost of this trip was more than worth it--to be relieved of planning, and to be taken care of so well.

What a great place to hang out--a great cocktail hour with effusive and kind staff. We had a great charcuterie board with amazing Mekness wine a couple days before Christmas. The room was decorated cheerfully with some Christmas gear, and the roaring and warm fireplace was super welcome after a cold rainy day of touring. We got to meet the owner the next day, Alex and his colleague, Sandra, who were so cheerful and lovely to talk with. The breakfast was also so elaborate--very hospitable!

This hotel had the most remarkable views of the mountains of Chefchaoun. Be warned: many many street steps to get up to hotel. But this is where you learn how incredibly fit and inshape the staff are--they lugged our 3 big bags up those steps and we lost sight of them! They brought us tea to warm us, and our balcony overlooking part of the city was magical. The room was very cold (understandable given that we were in the mountains in the winter), but it took a long time to heat up the room.

What an amazing experience! The tent is fully functioning: excellent toilet. Shower was hand-held but it did the trick--it was super cold, understandably. At first, we grumbled about how far a walk it was to our tent (given that it was quite empty due to snowed in roads that had prevented 20 guests from reaching). But we soon realized that the views from our tent were absolutely stunning. Sand dunes, no tents obstructing our views. We were very lucky to have such a great tent. The food was very good. The welcoming reception was lovely--tea and some snacks. The reception room was gorgeous and grand. Loved it! The bonfire was lovely. TBH, it felt like a bunch of Moroccan bros drumming for fun--but we didn't mind. They were sweet, kind, and enthusiastic, and very funny!

The hotel was located inside the medina, and felt a bit cramped. The hotel staff were amazing and kind, even making us a breakfast package for our very early morning departure from Marrakesh (very useful on a 10 hour Delta flight that provided very little food returning to ATL). They had umbrellas for guest use, very handy given that it rained while we were there. The room we stayed in was designated a "suite". But it was not a suite. It was a very small room (granted, with high ceilings) that left no space for luggage. The "suite part was a bridge from the hotel steps to the room (very tastefully decorated, and gave us space for our luggage), that overlooked our neighbors' room and allowed us to look directly onto the neighbors' "living room"--with their snacks, coats, and even hearing their conversations at full volume because there was no glass or partition shielding them from our view. We were part of their conversation. Ditto for the floor above us. They too had a bridge overlooking the room, and they could hear our conversation/vice versa. this meant that when one of us came in late, the others would be awakened. There was no sense of privacy unless you shut the glass doors of the room (and needless to say, no windows in the room), so a bit suffocating. But again, the staff was lovely. I would not recommend these rooms in that hotel to anyone.

Due to road closures in the middle Atlas mountains, we had to take an alternative route to get to Merzouga which added four hours to our already long drive, so we were late to arrive and had to take a truck into the camp. Our driver Mo was amazing during the bad weather and the additional delays. The staff at the desert camp arranged for us to have the camel ride experience in the morning as we went to see the sunrise and helped us set up a quad bike/atv experience in the dunes, which was a lot of fun. The desert camp itself is beautiful and I would highly recommend.

Nihad easily substituted one of my friends in their place, which increased the price only slightly. We started in Marrakech (2 nights at the excellent Riad al Rimal), then traversed the High Atlas Mountains to Valley of Roses (2 nights at the stunning Kasbah Tiziri). We took a camel ride to the desert camp (Sahara Stars Luxury Camp) for 1 night, then went on to Fes (2 nights at the Riad Farouzi Fes). We flew back to Marrakech for 2 nights (again at the Riad al Rimal). We spent our last free day seeing the Jardins Majorelle (spectacular), the Museum of Berber Arts, and the Yves St. Laurent museum.

The high points: observing the traffic in Marrakech (wild!), our lunch with the locals in the Valley of Roses, the camel ride to the desert camp, the stop at the women's cooperative Berber rug shop, every city guide we toured with, and the people of Morocco, all of whom were so warm and welcoming. Kudos to Nihad, who always responded immediately to our questions. And of course Richad, our tour manager/driver, who was invariably pleasant, helpful, patient, and informative.

My mother and I recently returned from an unforgettable 12-day trip through Morocco with Morocco Immersion, and we can’t recommend this experience highly enough. From start to finish, everything was seamless, meaningful, and beautifully organized.
Our driver and tour manager Ali was truly exceptional, a wonderful guide and even better person. His kindness, enthusiasm, and deep love for Morocco made every moment special. He ensured everything ran smoothly, filled each day with laughter, and introduced us to the country through his own genuine passion for its culture, people, and landscapes. By the end of the trip, it felt like traveling with a friend.
We were also fortunate to explore Fes with our local guide Rashid, who brought the city’s winding alleys, lively markets, and ancient monuments to life with fascinating stories. In Marrakesh, our guide Ali (different from our driver!) led us through the vibrant Medina, sharing layers of history as we walked, it truly felt like stepping back in time.
One of our most cherished memories was our sunset camel ride into the Sahara Desert, followed by a magical night at our desert camp, a once-in-a-lifetime experience we’ll never forget. Another highlight was visiting Boumalne Dades, where we learned to make traditional couscous and shared a meal with Ali’s family. Their warmth and hospitality were deeply touching and gave us a glimpse into the heart of Moroccan life.
Throughout the trip, we were continually amazed by the beauty and comfort of our accommodations, from riads filled with light and intricate details to stunning kasbahs surrounded by nature. A special mention goes to Kasbah Tiziri in Boumalne Dades, with its beautifully renovated interiors and incredibly kind owners and staff, and to Riad Chems Bleu in Essaouira, a true hidden gem with sun-filled rooms, a serene courtyard, and breathtaking views from the rooftop.
Every part of this journey reflected the care and authenticity that Morocco Immersion puts into their trips. It was an experience that combined culture, adventure, and heartfelt human connection. The kind of trip that stays with you long after you return home.

In a word, amazing! From our caring and funny driver, Mohammed (who still insists his chicken lemon tangine is the best),
to a variety of craftspeople, which caused credit card “exercise “ to commence and packing conundrums to deal with when leaving if shipping was not included.

Probably the best thing to say about KimKim, its employees and the Moroccan people in general is they want to help you to have the best time you are capable of.
Between airplane issues and my mobility challenges due to the seemingly unlimited stairs and high step up into the transport vehicle provided for the week in Morocco, everyone went beyond what was expected. Hotel rooms were altered, luggage was “handled”, a stool was purchased for the van, and dozens of other questions were answered. Guides altered itineraries due to “less stairs this way.”

I have traveled extensively. My ruler for the success of a trip and a travel agency is “ Would I return to this country using the same process?” The answer for Morocco and KimKim is “Undoubtedly.”

The immersion tour was that and much more. The selection of cities provided the spectrum of diversity and beauty of Morocco. Each accommodation was immaculate, comfortable, and unique. Hotel Reviews
Euphoriad
Rabat

Absolutely precious Medina riad. Attention to every detail to include heated towel bar, beautiful walk in shower, comfy bed, beautiful and delicious rooftop breakfast. Finally the entire staff was very professional and consistently provided superior customer service. Hajar is one of the most welcoming hosts you can imagine. For anyone challenged in a sense of direction as I am, make sure you note landmarks to the entry in the Medina and riad.

Chefchaouen

Stunning choice in Chefchaouen and honestly in any location. The attention to detail in everything embraces you as you walk the stairs to a piece of heaven on the hillside. The decor, room, cleanliness and the incredible staff made this a memory I will hold for some time. The meals were fresh and local and I am fairly sure even more delicious on the outdoor terrace. Try the orange juice (delicious), olive oil, homemade bread, local goat cheese, divine olives - try everything!

Casablanca

The location near the beach is nice but I recommend you walk a bit beyond the hotel for less crowds than there are immediately outside. The staff is respectful but not very attentive. The rooms facing the street are exposed to some noise. It was a nice landing location arriving in Casablanca but I would not stay more than 2 days.
