Morocco Immersion Tours and Adventures

Morocco Immersion Tours & Adventures is a family . . . literally. As direct descendants of the first dynasty of Morocco, our family history is entwined with that of Morocco. We founded Morocco Immersion because of our love of our Berber culture and our desire to share it with the world. With over 20 years of experience in the Moroccan tour industry, we provide safe and affordable adventures that allow you to immerse yourself in the beauty and magic of the REAL Morocco. When you travel with us, you aren’t a “tourist.” You are an honored guest of the family. And that is the BEST way to experience Morocco.

Our Philosophy

We have built our company on three basic principles:
1. Know our guests and be flexible. Unlike many tour operators in Morocco, our drivers are part of our team. That means that before you arrive in Morocco, your driver will have details about your interests and itinerary. Once you arrive, we are flexible with your itinerary. If you love a certain place and want to spend more time, we will adjust the rest of your itinerary on the fly to make it happen. If you see something on the road that you want to check out, just ask your driver to stop. Machi Mouchkil (“No problem”).
2. Provide immersive experiences. We believe that the real beauty of Morocco is the culture and the people. In addition to the “must see” sites, we will provide unique experiences that let you mix and mingle with the local people - No matter what level accommodations you prefer.
3. Give back. We are committed to the development of the communities in which we operate, so we partner with businesses that are locally owned and operated as much as possible. For you that means high-quality, non-touristy, responsible travel with stays in authentic accommodations (riads, kasbahs, berber tents) and unique access to the local people.

From start to finish our Morocco experience was one to remember. Nihad was professional and prompt with any questions or actions required. The hotels and riads we stayed in were fascinating and well chosen, particularly for location. Our city guides were informative and knowledgeable and helped us understand the cities and sites we visited. We had two drivers, and the second one in particular, Abelhadi, made us feel welcome and our long journeys safe and enjoyable. Moroccan hospitality is warm and we would love to explore it more.

If hiking to you is walking directly behind someone else, this is for you. This stop was a tourist trap.Not worth it in my opinion. Lunch by the river was an instagram photo op - not worth it.

Our guide was personable - there was a bit of a language barrier (that's on us) but he safely navigated us up and down the mountain, even though I brought the wrong shoes - hiking boots would have been better than tennis shoes.

Our drive Ahkmed (sp? ) was delightful. He was always timely and cheerful even though he wasn't eating during Ramadan - I think I would get grumpy... We were never concerned about our safety while traveling with him and even fell asleep a few times in the van.

Hisham in Marrakesh, Omar in Imlil, and Rasheed in Fes were all superb guides. They were all so intimately connected to their communities, excellent at communicating with us, and deep sources of knowledge and understanding about the history, culture, contemporary society, and places to visit. I consider them teachers as well as guides.

When I travel, I want to learn about the country and the people. But, of course, one can learn only so much about a country in a little more than a week. Nevertheless, through their guidance, Nihad, Ayoub, and our local guides provided an experience that gave me a much better understanding of Morocco and Moroccans. I hope to return in the future.

Having Omar for the duration of our trip was extremely valuable - both in theory and in practice. I am contrasting that with our current time in Egypt where there have been handoffs. Of course, that only works with a skilled guide. Omar was open, a good listener and engaging. He found a great balance being personal and professional. He was open, educational without being overwhelming. We would welcome him in our home if he ever gets to the states. He even introduced us to his mother! He accommodated special requests.

Like the Amazigh expression, that he is more like a brother than a friend, Ahmed was more than just a driver. He was a great travel companion! All of our local guides where top notch (Hishim, Hasania, Rashid). Our lunch at Said's, and visit in the apple orchard, were wonderful and we loved the cooking class with Nawal and Habiba. The other guides were also very informative like Hshania in Rabat, Khlafa in Fes, Hicham in Marakkech, and the gentleman in Volubilis . We had a fantastic travel and time in Morocco. In summary, the tour was well planned, organized, have great Tour manager, and exdperienced knowledgeable guides. Without hesitation I recommend to anyone Immersion Tour if you are planning to see Morocco. Lastly before I go, our Camel ride in the Sahara desert was beyond my expectation. This is fantastic, because this reminded me of my childhood living in village back in the Philippines. Going to the local butcher buying meat, to the market indoor and outdoor, bakery, the sound of people in the market, walking in the fields and of course the delicious home cooking by our tour manager (Omar's mother) at their home.

This trip was perfect. I want to especially mention a few of the guides. First and foremost, Ahmed Boufdam, our driver/guide, was outstanding. He is a great asset to the company. He is smart, funny, attentive, and a great driver. He really made our week into a spectacular trip. He made it look easy, and I know that's the sign of someone very good at what they do.

This trip was perfect. I want to especially mention a few of the guides. First and foremost, Ahmed Boufdam, our driver/guide, was outstanding. He is a great asset to the company. He is smart, funny, attentive, and a great driver. He really made our week into a spectacular trip. He made it look easy, and I know that's the sign of someone very good at what they do.
Hisham (Abdou's brother!) and Rashid were also incredible - in Marrakech and Fes. They are so good at what they do - consummate professionals with loads of experience and great delivery. Hasania in Rabat was also a standout.
The accommodations were perfect.
The itinerary was excellent; there's never enough time to do all you want to do, but we had a good mix, and I loved getting to see the spectacular Moroccan countryside. It was stunning.
Overall, I was very pleased with the trip, and would recommend the trip to anyone considering a trip to Morocco.

We had a wonderful experience! And especially appreciated the seamless support in country from wonderful tour guides and staff in our various accommodations to our amazing driver, Mo. this was our second trip arranged by Kim Kim and we felt (again) that we were in capable good hands and the choices in accommodation and activities matched our expectations.
