Morocco Immersion Tours and Adventures

Morocco Immersion Tours & Adventures is a family . . . literally. As direct descendants of the first dynasty of Morocco, our family history is entwined with that of Morocco. We founded Morocco Immersion because of our love of our Berber culture and our desire to share it with the world. With over 20 years of experience in the Moroccan tour industry, we provide safe and affordable adventures that allow you to immerse yourself in the beauty and magic of the REAL Morocco. When you travel with us, you aren’t a “tourist.” You are an honored guest of the family. And that is the BEST way to experience Morocco.

Our Philosophy

We have built our company on three basic principles:
1. Know our guests and be flexible. Unlike many tour operators in Morocco, our drivers are part of our team. That means that before you arrive in Morocco, your driver will have details about your interests and itinerary. Once you arrive, we are flexible with your itinerary. If you love a certain place and want to spend more time, we will adjust the rest of your itinerary on the fly to make it happen. If you see something on the road that you want to check out, just ask your driver to stop. Machi Mouchkil (“No problem”).
2. Provide immersive experiences. We believe that the real beauty of Morocco is the culture and the people. In addition to the “must see” sites, we will provide unique experiences that let you mix and mingle with the local people - No matter what level accommodations you prefer.
3. Give back. We are committed to the development of the communities in which we operate, so we partner with businesses that are locally owned and operated as much as possible. For you that means high-quality, non-touristy, responsible travel with stays in authentic accommodations (riads, kasbahs, berber tents) and unique access to the local people.

Every aspect of the trip was carefully and beautifully curated. This was the first time that we took a trip organized by an agency.
Maryem was very responsive from the beginning of the planning and organized an amazing trip for our family of five. She planned an unforgettable trip beginning and ending in Marrakesh, with a 4 Day Loop across the Atlas mountains through Dades Valley into the desert. Every Riad and Kasbah we stayed at were great. The camel ride at sunset to the luxury camp under the stars was a highlight not only of this trip but of any trip we’ve taken.
Aside from the planning, the most valuable aspect of the trip was our driver and guide, Omar. He not only drove us safely from place to place and provided historical and cultural information on Morocco and the places we visited, but he exemplified the hospitality, sincerity and friendliness of the Moroccan people. He connected us with local guides in the specific places we visited, who were also great. We particularly enjoyed walking through some of the small villages and appreciating the local people, local food, local culture, music and economy.
During the trip, we were able to communicate with Maryem to tweak our itinerary, which we left flexible (purposefully) for the final day and a half. We spent a 1/2 day with Omar, appreciating the Jardin Majorelle, Berber Museum and Yves Saint Laurent museum.
Overall, it was an unforgettable eight days in Morocco and we are looking forward to returning again with the same agencies (Morocco Imersion) and Kim Kim.

The Riad in Marakesh were lovely, although the room itself had an odd smell to it and there were no windows. Our desert stay in Agafay was unbelievable and highly recommend it! Essaouria is beautiful and we enjoyed the hotel and location. We would visit again and stay another day or two. Overall, a wonderful excursion.

The trip was absolutely amazing. It was a perfect introduction to Morocco. We inquired with the team and they were very considerate of what we wanted to see and really listened to us. They worked with us prior to the trip and made sure we understood the landscape of Morocco and provided suggestions based on our preferences. Nihad was the one who curated our itinerary and was always available. Sharon also took the time to meet with me via Zoom so we can easily discuss our trip. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by our driver Rachid who was very pleasant and answered our questions and of course, a very skillful and safe driver. He coordinated with our Riad to meet us and help us with our luggages. Our Marrakech Medina Walking Tour Guide was Hassan and he was very knowledgeable and patient with our questions and waiting for us as we took time to take photos. We learned so much about the culture and the people. We had to switch drivers/guides the following day and it was Ahmed who took care of us the rest of the trip. He was a careful driver and with really good taste in music. We truly enjoyed his playlist. He truly acted like our concierge during our camel ride and dinner at Agafay desert as well as our dinner at La Boheme - a truly wonderful evening.
The rest of the trip was spent in Essaouira and Ahmed suggested places to eat and where to hang out for evening drinks. Afterwards, he really took care of us through our long drive to Casablanca for our return flight.
I also would like to mention Abderrahman who coordinated with us also as we transitioned between guides and drivers. Everyone was very accommodating and was always available for anything that we need. Highly recommended!

Nihad listened to us and put together a great itinerary and the riads and hotels that we stayed at were very nice. The star of our trip was, however, our driver, Abdel. He was reliable, and excellent driver, and a lot of fun. We became part of his family and he part of ours. If you are planning a trip, I would ask for him.

The company's name summed up our experience: we felt that we were immersed in Morocco. In addition, to visiting some of the most common sites, we enjoyed our off-track journey through the Atlas Mountains, we enjoyed our cooking classes, which took us into individual's homes, and we loved having tea at Abdel's parents. Tom also enjoyed his hikes, and all but one of our guides were informative and personal. We learned a lot.

I should note that our trip was longer than most. We were there for 30 days, which gave us time to see the country a leisurely pace and to see the backroads.

Kasbah Tiziri
Kelaat Mgouna

Of all the places we stayed on our month-long trip to Morocco, this was my favorite. The owners did a fabulous job refurbishing the Kasbah: our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and squeaky clean. In addition the Kasbah had beautiful public spaces, both inside the Kasbah and outside. Adding to the charm, were the donkeys that walked by in the early morning on their way to the fields. The best part of the Kasbah was the owner, Michelle, who was from the United States, and who could help me understand what it had been like to purchase and renovate the Kasbah and now to run it. We had several long chats over tea and, while my partner went hiking, she had one of the members of her staff teach me how to make msinenmen.

While this Kasbah was fine, it did not have the character or warmth of the other kasbahs in which we stayed. Parking was difficult, there were weeds growing out of steps, and a tea set sat on a table for two days. The manager also did not interact with us in any meaningful way. Thus, although the kasbah was fine, it was not anything special.

Dar Eau Vive is an upscale hotel on a cliff overlooking the river. Because there was a large group there the weekend we were there, the hotel was not as quiet or as romantic as it might have been on a weekday. Although the rooms are nice, our was small and we ended up putting our suitcases on the balcony, which was covered. The pool is small but nice and the gardens are outstanding. I stayed at Riad Farouzi Fes, and it was a pleasant experience despite a minor design flaw that caused me to hit my head on a shelf in the bathroom (I'm almost 6'4). The staff was absolutely amazing, especially a lovely gentleman who wrote our names in Arabic and suggested an outstanding restaurant for dinner. The kindness and hospitality of the staff made the stay a memorable one.

The food tour in Marrakech was a highlight of our trip! Our guide was outstanding and took us to incredible places. Each stop was full of delicious food, and the experience was enhanced by the guide’s knowledge and enthusiasm.

Fantastic trip to Morocco! Had a really great experience with Sharon and her team. As an overall experience, I would say she listened to my wants and needs, and planned our trip accordingly. She was also amendable to working with our pre existing accommodations and tailoring the tour around that. From start to finish, everything ran smoothly.

Her hotel recommendations were spot on.., perfectly located and really luxurious! I also felt that the nights and times she recommend were perfect.

Our driver, Rachid, was outstanding and provided excellent service. He was never late and kept us on a perfect schedule. Most of our private tours were great and I really enjoyed them….

I previously was working with another planner for this trip and I felt he didn’t understand my style of travel. After switching to sharon, the trip really came together.

Nice camp if you’re ok with basics… luxury by tent standards… but there are better camps we noticed along the way that are better maintained and offer better amenities.
