Ali Moujane

I was born and raised in a small village situated in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, and was fortunate enough to be raised in a family with a deep-rooted passion for travel. Since 2015, I have been actively involved in the tourism sector, which has broadened my horizons and enriched my knowledge base. Through my extensive travels, I have had the privilege of exploring various breathtaking destinations within Morocco.

As a travel enthusiast, my fervor lies in facilitating transformative experiences for our guests by introducing them to the diverse cultural landscape and hidden gems of my country. I derive immense gratification from sharing the unparalleled beauty of Morocco with our guests and observing the positive impact it has on their outlook and perception. It is my privilege to help them unravel new adventures, unravel the charm of untapped places, and immerse themselves in novel cultural encounters.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"We organize tours in the Atlas Mountains, Deserts, coastal areas, and Imperial cities.

The activities we are specialized in are the following: Mountain biking, Family Vacations, Local life, custom-made trips, and cultural tours.
"

How did you get involved in travel?

"My passion for travel started at an early age, especially when I went on my first trip with my familly to explore new places in the High Atlas Mountains, new people, and new adventures. Since then, traveling becomes a sort of inspiration to me and fills me with a sense of enthusiasm to gain essential knowledge about this field. Traveling, for me, is like meditation; it makes my mind relaxed and motivates me to learn and discover new things. Looking at huge mountains, diving into gorgeous sceneries, enjoying glorious food give me a pleasure that is incomparable to any other joy."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"The most unforgettable experience I have ever had was climbing the highest peak in North Africa "Mount Toubkal" (4167m).

I was 18 years old when I had such an incredible experience climbing this gorgeous summit with the help of our mountain guide, my brother, who kept encouraging me to keep going until we reached the peak. The hike to the top was very tough but it was so worth it when we got there, observing the beauty of the snow-capped mountain, and enjoying beautiful landscapes. That adventure motivated me to take other trips and discover other places that are worth visiting in Morocco."

Hi kimkim,

First of all, my friend and traveling companion—Deb—and myself have never seen ourselves as tour people.

But since kimkim isn't your usual tour company, we discovered that we loved being able to work with someone to plan and execute a trip to such an exotic destination as Morocco.

And then once we arrived, having the luxury of a private driver who became our traveling buddy (and guide in his own right), along with guides who illuminated specific sites.

In addition to the amazing country itself, we must also give enormous credit to Llyace for making our journey through Morocco enjoyable and memorable.

Travel always comes with both pleasures and inconveniences, large and small. But with Llyace as our travel companion, he helped maximize the former and minimize the later.

He made us feel welcomed to his country because he saw his role as more than merely our driver, he was our amiable escort through every city we visited.

His professionalism resulted in confident driving, punctuality, hospitality and a desire to see to our every need. Even when those needs included quickly finding a pharmacy in the middle of the Moroccan countryside to help us concur a health aliment.

It’s not an exaggeration to say that we quickly gained the confidence that no matter what we wanted, needed or didn’t even know we desired he would deliver with warmth and good humor.

His personable attitude helped us feel welcomed and never alone no matter where we ventured in the exotic land of Morocco.

Our hope now is that not only are we are blessed enough to have companions like him on the future adventures we hope to take with kimkim—but that others are too.

With sincere appreciation,
Myles

Our driver/guide Soufiane was AMAZING- so kind, caring, thoughtful, and safe. He anticipated our needs and was exceptionally knowledgeable. Marrakesh was great, our guide Hannan was superb, 11/10! The desert was a good experience, should’ve skipped Fed and stayed extra day in Sahara. Fes - interesting city with very cool sights. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately, we received the standard “tourist treatment” with most of the tour spent in the hustles of getting us to buy things after a short tour (tannery, tile) or explanation (carpet, cloth) shops. While interesting, it was all a preface to the hustle. I would have preferred hearing about architecture, history, culture, etc. IMO, paid guides should warn you it’s a hustle, not offer you up to them. That had been my beef with previous tours and I’d hoped that this one would be different. Alas, it was not.
Casablanca was not worth the time. Saw the mosque and that was it. Basically we had 1 day in tourist hustle and 1 with nothing to do. Overall a good trip but would make different choices and be more vocal about my desire for non-hustle options.

We’re also happy that you enjoyed Marrakech and had such a great experience with Hannan, 11/10 is high praise, and we’ll be sure to pass it along to her!

We truly appreciate your honest feedback regarding the guided portion in Fes and the time in Casablanca. We understand and take seriously your concerns about the “tourist treatment” and the emphasis on shopping stops rather than deeper cultural and historical context. This is certainly not the standard we aim to uphold, and we apologize that this part of the trip did not meet your expectations.

Please know that we will be following up directly with our partners and guides in Fes to ensure they are more mindful of balancing educational content with any artisan visits, and most importantly, that our travelers are never made to feel pressured or misled. Your comments will help us reinforce this message and make meaningful improvements for future guests.

Thank you again for traveling with us and for sharing your insights. We’re always here to tailor experiences that align with your travel style and preferences, and we’d be honored to assist with any future adventures.

Our trip to Morocco was terrific...we loved the diversity of venues, cities, and activities. Our driver/guide, Reda, was highly professional, informed, courteous, and caring. He went out of his way to ensure the highest quality trip possible.

Specific highlights include:

The quality of hotels was excellent and provided a genuine sense of the Moroccan culture.

Reda was incredibly sensitive to our comfort and drove with care and attention to our needs.

Local tour guides were competent and informative.

Overall, we found the people of Morocco to be culturally sensitive, historically informed, and curious about our own experiences.

Our vegan diet was accommodated quite well, and we were pleasantly surprised by the vegan options available throughout the country.

Hotel Reviews
Barceló Casablanca
Casablanca

This hotel was adequate. It was perfectly located for our needs given nearby access to two vegan restaurants and on hte walking route we had designed. The furniture is dated and in need of repair but it was fine. We did have a problem with no reservation on record for our first night but it all worked out.

Authenticity & Character
Unlike other hotels we stayed in, this seemed more corporate.

Dar Jasmine
Chefchaouen

I would recommend that Original Travel be clearer up front about the 150-step hike to the hotel. Reda did ask, but only when we were en route to the property. I understand that alternate arrangements would have been made if needed (fortunately, it wasn't) but that's something clients might want to consider well in advance of the drive. Once there, though, the property was lovely and the meals there exceptional. We did request a room change since the one assigned to us was essentially windowless.

Again....lack of comfortable seating in our room seems to be a norm in Moroccan hotels. The two chairs on the patio were unusable. But there was great seating around the pool.

We were happy with the accommodations they booked for us through Original Travel. We were treated extremely well by everyone at all 6 locations.

The best decision we made was to travel by private car and driver. Our driver/guide was Mustapha and he was GREAT!
Mustapha was professional, friendly, and very accommodating. He did all the driving, handled all the luggage, and knew all the best places to stop for food, photos, shopping, and clean bathrooms. We felt very comfortable and safe with him. He provided a lot of information about the cities, the country, and its history. The trip would not have been the same with out him.

Overall I had an awesome experience as we traveled from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert areas followed by visits to Fes, Tangier, Rabat and eventually, Casablanca. Each place had their own distinct character and culture. Our local guides were fanstastic and I learnt a lot about the Moroccan history and they ways of life. I do have to mention the delicious Tangia and Tagine preparations; the likes of which I have never experienced before. A special mention about our driver, Rachid. I travel a lot and have worked with many travel tour operators, guides and drivers. Rachid is exceptional at what he does. Not only he is a great and more importantly, a safe driver, he went above and beyond his job and took care of every requirement of ours. I have to mention an incident where our vehicle suffered damage on account of flooded road conditions on our way to Merzouga desert. It was past sunset and all of us were worried about getting stranded in the middle of nowhere. Rachid organized the locals to get a hold of a mechanic and with the help of ordinary citizens managed to get our vehicle to a driveable condition. What was the most important aspect of this episode was the calmness and control that Rachid demonstrated. I did not see him getting flustered or in panic; he calmly went about the process of getting the vehicle restored. I and all others in my group were really impressed by this.

All local guides were great and speaks reasonably good english. They have a good knowledge of Local as well as Moroccan history and answered all our questions and queries.
A special mention to our fulltime driver Rachid, who was outstanding in his job and is great in conversation. There were really long drives and it is not easy to keep a bus full of people happy. He did that and also resolved all issues to our satisfaction.
He became just like our friend. Love him.

I am so happy we chose Kimkim for this trip - would not only use them in the future but will also recommend them to friends and family. Our local guide Ayoub was incredible - super knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. He was amazing with our 10 year old son - they became quick friends on the trip. We always felt very safe and taken care of. Our guide in Fez (Sharif) was also great - took us to see all the major highlights and just gave us an over-all fun experience.

A couple of very minor things - when we stayed in the oasis overnight, the guide there could have been a little bit better. It sounds like it's still a developing travel destination, but it would be super helpful to have a guide who spoke better English. There was a bit of a communication/understanding barrier, but again, just a small nit pick.

Food tour of Marrakech was definitely one of the highlights - would highly recommend it as part of any itinerary.

Thank you Ali, Said and the whole Kimkim team and guides for an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful hotel, but our actually room was not so great - it had a musky/stuffy smell, was a little run down and dark. Air conditioning did not work - they did try to fix it or move us (alternatively) but we only had one more night there and it did not make much sense to move.

Five stars: Camp Inara, Agafay; good food; great surroundings; pleasant people; nice pool.
Four stars: Hotel Medina in Essaouira. Right outside the medina. Just below luxury category, but nice, comfortable, clean and well-located hotel.
Three stars: Riad Pachavana in Marrakech; nice accommodations, but seemed a bit “tired”. Clean and sanitary. Friendly, efficient employees. There was another riad in the restaurant where we dined, Maison Arabe, which seemed much more elegant, but probably more expensive. We wouldn’t discourage a stay at Riad Pachavana, but it’s not a five star place (nor was it advertised as such).
We were favourably impressed with Morocco, it’s people, places and receptiveness to tourists - reserved, but helpful. I would return. ,
