Our driver Abdelkarim (Karim) was amazing, he was very knowledgeable and an incredibly safe driver. He did a great job coordinating our day-to-day activities and making sure things ran smoothly. The country of Morocco was truly beautiful and the activities we went to were very fun. We were upset that without us being made aware of it until the day of, our sandboarding activity, which we paid for (and hopefully we can get refunded for this), became impossible due when they scheduled the activity. This was especially annoying considering we were given 5hrs of free time the previous day when we could have done the activity.
What disappointed us the most were the lodgings booked by the KimKim team. With hindsight never have I been more happy that the major hotels we booked ourselves as the ones booked by the KimKim team were dirty, one had roaches, the other lacked a hot water shower. These hotels were quite rundown and did not meet the standards which we felt had been conveyed to us. The "luxury" camp which KimKim had told us had AC did not, and the food served was inedible.
Also the driver we had, as much as we loved him, was not who KimKim had told us would be our driver. This left us very confused and initially nervous since we were unable to contact our driver directly and it simply wasn't who we were told our driver would be.
To summarize, we enjoyed our trip overall and were mostly happy with KimKim's efforts, but in the future we probably will not use KimKim again due to the quality of the hotel bookings not being worth the premium we paid KimKim to book them.

Hotel Reviews
Kasbah Mohayut
Merzouga

Disgusting hotel, roaches outside our room, horrible food, dirty and unclean rooms. There is no internet for guests either. The bed was the worst bed I have ever slept on in my life. The bed and pillows were so awful that my fiancé and I slept on our clothes to make it softer and used our sweatshirts as pillows since the hotels were as hard as cement. Maye this hotel used to be good, but now it should be avoided.

Luxury is a stretch. The camel ride out to the camp went great, until the driver tried to force us to buy knick-knacks. The staff was very kind which was a positive. The food was inedible and dinner was a struggle, especially as they did not understand gluten-free meaning my fiancé could not eat most of the dinner. the tent was black which made it incredibly hot, which would've been nice if the A/C worked...

I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed your driver; they play such an essential role in the journey, and it's wonderful to know their presence made a positive impact.

I'm sorry to hear that the accommodations did not meet your expectations. We haven’t received similar feedback about these properties before, so your input is especially valuable. As we can’t personally revisit every place on a regular basis, thoughtful feedback like yours helps us reassess and ensure our recommendations remain aligned with our standards.

Regarding the longer drives, we do our best to prepare travelers in advance, as distances in Morocco—especially outside the cities—can be quite vast. I’m sorry if the reality felt more taxing than expected.

As for the sandboarding, I’m disappointed to hear it didn’t work out. I’ll be following up with our team to understand what happened. We always encourage guests to reach out during the trip if something isn’t right, as we’re often able to make adjustments in real time.

I’m also sorry to hear that the drivers for the paragliding made you feel uneasy. While they’re highly experienced and know the terrain well, I understand how rural driving in Morocco can feel very different from what you may be accustomed to.

Overall, I’m glad you enjoyed your time in Morocco. It’s such a diverse country, and while the more remote areas can be a bit outside the comfort zone for some, they also offer a very different, and often more authentic, perspective of the country.

Thank you again for your honest feedback—it helps us grow and improve.

We had an amazing trip to Morocco, in no small part due to the service and dedication of the Original Travels team.

We had a thoroughly positive experience with original travels throughout. Our initial trip planning was through Abdel, who was highly responsive, very pleasant to deal with, and rapidly adapted the trip to align best with our preferences, including taking account of our young children (for instance by managing the driving distances for each leg). The same can be said of the point of contact for the trip, Said. Said was also very responsive, provided helpful answers to various ad hoc questions, and also facilitated a pottery workshop midway through the trip, which turned out to be a highlight. Said also ensured two hotel upgrades throughout the trip, which was appreciated.

Turning to our driver/guide, Samir was wonderful throughout the trip. Not only was Samir a fun companion on the long drives, he ensured our every need was met at every stage of the vacation. Of particular note were the small acts of kindness throughout the trip, such as providing snacks and water for our children, securing cough meds, and even helping resolve our kids arguments! We cannot speak highly enough of his services, and would hope to meet again in the future.

In terms of specific points on accommodations and activities, overall Original Travels arranged for very comfortable accommodations and a range of fascinating activities. The accommodations we enjoyed the most was Kasbah Azul in Agdz (fantastic staff, food and ambience), as well as Riad Pachavana in Marrakech (lovely peaceful Riad, with delicious breakfast). We would also highlight Dar Rihana in Boulmane Dades as being lovely and glad we stayed there.

For improvement in the future, we felt that the desert camp (Orient Desert Camp) had a ‘transactional’ feel as compared with other hotels we stayed at. Whilst a lovely location and comfortable camp, it had a less personable atmosphere from the staff. We also much
preferred the atmosphere of the Riad in Marrakech rather than the hotel we stayed in Marrakech’s New Town (which did not give any particular flavor of Morocco and could have been anywhere), so would recommend use of the Riads where possible.

Of the activities we participated in, particular highlights were the pottery workshop mentioned above - the owner was so welcoming and hospitable and we had a fantastic time. Also the desert camel ride was amazing, though it would have been better had we arrived slightly earlier so as not to be rushed onto the camels to make the sunset. We also thoroughly enjoyed our Marrakech food tour, and would recommend that to fellow travellers.

Generally the guides used by Original Travels were very good, though we would note the following slight caveats:
- Our guide in Ait Benhaddou put the least effort in, and generally just took us to a range of stores to buy things from his friends. Was more preoccupied with catching up with his friends rather than actually guiding the tour.
- The tour of marrakech guide did not adapt his general spiel to better fit our young kids
- The guide in Merzouga didn’t speak much English, which made communication difficult.
- We would’ve appreciated if guides took more initiative with taking photos in the moment instead of us finding a spot and doing a posed photo.

That said, all of our guides (indeed all of the people we met in Morocco!) were welcoming and friendly, and did provide special experiences.

Overall, we are extremely glad we chose Original Travels and Morocco for our vacation, and would strongly recommend for other travellers!

Our hike with Mohammad was filled with the beauty of the mountains and his kindness another delightful experience I also should mention our driver Said who was great we loved all our time spent with him and he watched out for us making sure we always had what we needed. We did not think it was necessary however to have a tour of the medina in both Fes and Marrakesh as they were very much the same and honestly the one in Marrakesh was boring only because it was a bit redundant a suggestion would be to explain that to the client whem booking the trip. Another suggestion might be to do a better job of the actual planning piece with the detail of the trip example we didnt realize if we were a bit late to the desert we would miss out on the camel ride to the camp Acutally we felt there were a lot of small details that were left out of the itinerary such as times to meet guides etc Dont get me wrong we loved the trip but our thinking was these suggestions will help you in th future

We flew into Casablanca and out of Marrakesh. This trip was most certainly out of our comfort zone, and we even considered bailing on the trip in the days leading up. I am so glad we went. Booking through KimKim (MOBT Global) was a leap of faith, but they 100% delivered on the itinerary and riads/hotels as promised and were very responsive to questions before and during the trip. While our driver Farid did not speak English, we were able to easily communicate with him with Google translate, and he was like a genie who appeared at the exact correct times, every time. Farid was extremely warm, friendly, and protective of us during the trip. The Mercedes van provided was very comfortable for the long drives. Zahra, our tour guide in Fez, was outstanding and request her to be your guide in Fez if you can. If we had more time, in hindsight, I would have extended the trip by two days to break up the drive to and out of the Sahara desert, adding an overnight in Midlet (middle between Fez and Merzouga) or some other nearby town and Tinghir / Todra Gorge (middle between Merzouga and Quarzazate). Also consider adding a day for the Atlas Mountains. Don’t skip the Sahara desert overnight and camels, it was the highlight of our trip, which was already filled with many highlights! I would not hesitate to use KimKim or MOBT again.

We understand that the drive to the desert can be long, but one of the great advantages of having a private driver is the flexibility to stop along the way and enjoy the beautiful scenery. While Middelt is a charming Berber town, it unfortunately does not offer options for quality accommodations. For this reason, we often recommend continuing directly to the desert. Most travelers find the journey rewarding as it offers the opportunity to experience Berber villages, local markets, and lush oases along the way.

Thank you again for placing your trust in us. We would be honored to welcome you and your family back anytime you are ready for another adventure.

We were happy with the accommodations they booked for us through Original Travel. We were treated extremely well by everyone at all 6 locations.

The best decision we made was to travel by private car and driver. Our driver/guide was Mustapha and he was GREAT!
Mustapha was professional, friendly, and very accommodating. He did all the driving, handled all the luggage, and knew all the best places to stop for food, photos, shopping, and clean bathrooms. We felt very comfortable and safe with him. He provided a lot of information about the cities, the country, and its history. The trip would not have been the same with out him.

One of the men in particular had a great sense of humor, and had us laughing several times. The tents and beds were comfortable and had showers and private bathrooms. The driver who took us out for the day, Ramadan, spoke a little English, and he took great care of us, and brought us to a great restaurant for lunch.

This is the 2nd trip we've booked through KimKim. It allowed us to access the best of the best in local companies. We considered a few different tour companies, but KimKim's connection to Morocco Immersion Tours & Adventures won out, and we can't be happier about it.

Leaving Morocco after just 10 short days was incredibly difficult! We’ve traveled the world extensively, but this trip, meticulously crafted by Morocco Immersion Tours & Adventures, stands out as one of our most cherished experiences.

Before embarking on this journey, KimKim allowed us to Zoom with owners, Sharon and Abdou, and coordinator Nihad. We exchanged ideas and expectations, and the trip they organized exceeded our wildest expectations. Nihad kept us updated throughout the planning process, making adjustments and ensuring that we had everything we needed for our private two-couple vacation.

We travelled all over Morocco - Casablanca to Rabat to Meknes to Fes, Merzouga to Boumalne Dades, and finally onto Marrakesh, with so many places in-between. We even crossed the Atlas Mountains twice.

Morocco is a unique and intricate country, but our trip truly came alive thanks to our exceptional driver and guide, Abdelhadi Oulaid (Abdel). His care, attention to detail, humor, and knowledge made this experience unforgettable. Sharon and Abdou aptly describe their company as a family enterprise, and while Abdel may not be blood, he made the four of us feel like part of his family.

All the hotels and riads we stayed in, carefully selected by Morocco Immersion, were magnificent, especially the Eden Boutique Hotel in Dades.

Throughout our Morocco Immersion trip, their hand-picked, specialized guides led us on an enriching journey of learning and discovery. Exploring with these guides and Abdel, we were introduced to a vibrant tapestry of Moroccan culture and people. The Amazigh, the indigenous Berber people, exude warm hospitality, kindness, and generosity.

Choosing highlights is an arduous task, but the golden sands of the Sahara, the chaotic yet captivating allure of Fes and Marrakech, the tranquil beauty of the Atlases and Dades Valley, and Abdel’s infectious humor and genuine care all stand out. Owner, Abdou, met us in Dades with a heartfelt embrace and personally guided us through the bustling market. He led us on a winding, historical walk through an old kasbah and brought us to a private home where we were warmly welcomed with tea and lunch. Our hosts, two sweet Amazigh women, used our market purchases, and prepared the most delectable couscous of our entire trip.

Despite the vast distances we covered and the numerous places we visited, Abdel’s exceptional care and attention to detail ensured that our trip was an absolute delight. He went above and beyond, escorting us to evening activities, fulfilling every request, and ensuring our safety and well-being at all times.

Morocco Immersion truly excels in providing an immersive experience. Sharon and Abdou’s expertise, extensive connections, and remarkable ability to coordinate complex activities seamlessly throughout a tight itinerary are truly impressive. Thank you, KimKim for partnering with them!

Ayoub helped us see unique sights along the journey and even made our long travel days engaging and interesting. It was genuinely wonderful to have everything scheduled and outlined for us. We felt like we could turn our planning brains off and just enjoy the sights and culture of the regions.

Our city guides, Sharif in Fes and Sellam in Marrakesh, were knowledgeable of the history and showed us around to many of the local hot spots. It was great having an official guide for half day tours.

We had a great time and thank everyone involved in the trip!

We planned a 15 day trip for our family group of 4 adults with Sharon's help. She helped put together an itinerary that would suit our group. Our overall experience in this trip was wonderful and we learned so much about the Amazigh (Berber) culture and traditions and about the history of Morocco. The warmth of the welcome we got felt special - and we got this from all the people whom we interacted with: our tour manager, the drivers and the staff at the Riads where we stayed. We wanted cultural immersion and indeed that was what we got.

A highlight was our "day with the locals" in Boumalne Dades, where we had Abdou Idrissi (owner of Moroccan Immersion) as our very knowledgeable guide to Berber culture, architecture, life, cultivation and irrigation. It was a treat to be in the kitchen with our hosts Malika and Khadija as they prepared a tagine and couscous in the traditional way. They and their children were so open and welcoming and we surprised my husband with a birthday cake. Definitely the most unique birthday he has celebrated!

Each of the cities we visited gave us a chance to experience medieval towns by staying in Riads in the Medinas of these towns. Our local guide Mohammed in Rabat, a different guide named Mohammed in Fes, and Salaam in Marrakesh were all excellent - knowledgeable and personable.

While in Fez we found out that our wonderful tour manager and driver, Salaam could not accompany us for the rest of the trip, due to circumstances outside anyone's control. We cannot say enough about Salaam as a guide and chaperone for our trip: he is fun to be with, incredibly knowledgeable about history, architecture, culture and more and he made sure we were comfortable as we made our way through our first three stops. To Moroccan Immersion's credit, they made sure that they had good drivers for us at short notice in a busy season, so there was no interruption in our programming. Even though he could not be with us for the rest of the days of the trip, he kept track of where we were, communicated with the drivers we had and made sure things went well for us. Abdou was of course, in the background, making sure things went well.

The other drivers we had were very good but they did not have the same level of knowledge and ability to guide and inform us as Salaam did. This did impact our tour experience - and we understand that it was because of something beyond anyone's control.

Our favorite stop was as Kasbah Tiziri in the Valley of the Roses. Our hosts Michelle and Hussein were wonderful and gave us delicious food and their own insights into life in Morocco. The Kasbah has a beautiful garden, has been modernized beautifully while maintaining a traditional identity.

All along we had beautiful drives - between Rabat and Fez, Fez to Merzouga and then from the desert camp in Merzouga to Marrakesh. There had been rain after a four year drought and the countryside was green (except of course near the desert area). We got to experience spectacular views as we drove through the low, the mid and the High Atlas mountains (many peaks with snow). Our drivers negotiated the challenging drives smoothly and safely.

We ended by spending a day in Essaouira which was a nice relaxed ending to our trip in this charming seaside town.

We covered a lot of ground, physically, and learned a great deal during our trip all while experiencing a feast for the senses and a sense of warmth and welcome!

Mohammed, our guide for Fes, was the best site specific guide we had. He grew up in the medina there and seemed to know everybody. Our driver Mohammed was the nicest man but perhaps was not someone who usually functioned as a guide. He did his very best, since he had been assigned to us at short notice. Getting to the hotel on a rainy night (not usual in a desert region for sure) was a challenge and it was a good thing we had phones with service so we could help with online maps and navigation. Next morning we visited Rissani, a kasbah, and also enjoyed the Gnawa musicians. All enjoyable.

The next morning we had a wonderful tour with our guide (so sorry not to be able to pull up his name). We also visited the ancient necropolis of Chellah where we got a sense of what an amazing city it must have been. We also got to see the amazing black and white storks who have built enormous nests. We had requested a visit there and it has a history going back to the Phoenicians and the Romans prior to being used by Muslim rulers. Spotting the stork nests became a feature of our whole trip - they often they build nests at the top of a mosque.

We had a guided tour of a kasbah which involved also understanding cultivation inside a kasbah. This road is spectacular and the kasbahs are amazing to see - the way in which they mimic and blend into the countryside is interesting. Ourzazate was interesting with an entertaining tour guide of this big movie studio where many movies were filmed from westerns to historical and biblical movies. At Ait el Benhaddou we were dropped off at the wrong place to enter - this necessitated crossing a stream on stepping stones. When we contacted our driver he came back and got us to a bridge which seemed to be the more normal way to enter. Lack of signage and aof guide at this site made it less enjoyable.

When you know you are going to spend 15 days traveling more than 1000 miles in a vehicle you tend to be a little apprehensive about the person you are going to spend time with. He was personable, an excellent driver and more than fulfilled his role as tour manager by connecting with each city tour guide, riad or hotel to make the process seamless for us. Also, when necessary, he ardently advocated for us. Our favorite places to visit were Chefchaouen, Merzouga (Sahara Desert) and Dades. I indicated to Nihad I wanted a high end experience and the riads, botique hotels and the camp in the Sahara she selected were all excellent. Would highly recommend.

We were very happy with all aspects of our Morocco trip facilitated by Morocco Immersion. Maryem, our local specialist, was always responsive and informative, and our pre-trip Zoom with the agency head, Sharon, was very helpful. We were also grateful for the advice sheet, especially tipping hints. A good driver/tour manager is crucial to a successful tour, and ours (Abdessamad or Samad) was superb. He was always cheerful, on time, and very knowledgeable; his driving excellent, and his English sufficient, if not fluent. Our guides were uniformly on time and informative; the Fes guide (Sayyid), an American citizen returned home, was outstanding.
Now for more specifics on our tour plan. We liked staying in riads, and all were good. In Rabat, Riad Kalaa was atmospheric, though the shower sometimes only gave cold water. We really liked the Chellah Gardens (an alternative to the closed Royal Palace). The Al Makan in Fes had an excellent location and helpful staff (esp. Zakariyah). The high point of the medina tour there was the Al-Attarine madrasa.
We had a long but interesting drive down to the Sahara through the Middle Atlas mountains. It rained most of the way and we arrived to a torrential downpour in the desert, but we did get to see the sunset and we enjoyed “glamping” overnight. I took a nice walk in the dunes early the next morning. We then drove to Tinghir and the Dades Valley, which was beautiful as promised. We had a short tour of the city due to the earlier rain, and our (male) guide was also the rug seller at the women’s co-op (we saw no women there), which had been recommended to us by Morocco Immersion. There was a big choice of carpets; I got one we really like, and I assume it was cheaper there than in a big city, but I took their word and didn’t bargain anywhere else. We liked the Tiziri Kasbah riad there, and it had an exceptional view from the roof.
We then crossed over to and through the magnificent High Atlas mountains, reminiscent of our own Colorado Rockies. They were a literal high point of our trip. We spent our last days in Marrakech at the pleasant Riad Nesma, very centrally located and quiet but our room was small. We found the Bahia Palace and Madrasa Ben Yousef impressive, as were the medina and central square Jamma el-Fna, though the latter were a bit overwhelming. We also enjoyed the Majorelle Gardens, despite the crowd. We visited the lovely Ourika Valley our last day, and were happy to dodge the weekend crowds; we liked seeing the Anima Gardens on the way back, and I found a hammam refreshing the day before we flew home.
Again, kudos to kimkim and Morocco Immersion for a wonderful trip.

The Riad Nesma Suites & SPA in Marrakesh was incredibly centrally located, right on the alleyway into Jamaa El Fna, which was fantastic. I just concluded a 10-day trip in Morocco, the itinerary and actvities were organized by Ali and then supported by Said. Overall I had an awesome experience as we traveled from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert areas followed by visits to Fes, Tangier, Rabat and eventually, Casablanca. Each place had their own distinct character and culture. Our local guides were fanstastic and I learnt a lot about the Moroccan history and they ways of life. I do have to mention the delicious Tangia and Tagine preparations; the likes of which I have never experienced before. A special mention about our driver, Rachid. I travel a lot and have worked with many travel tour operators, guides and drivers. Rachid is exceptional at what he does. Not only he is a great and more importantly, a safe driver, he went above and beyond his job and took care of every requirement of ours. I have to mention an incident where our vehicle suffered damage on account of flooded road conditions on our way to Merzouga desert. It was past sunset and all of us were worried about getting stranded in the middle of nowhere. Rachid organized the locals to get a hold of a mechanic and with the help of ordinary citizens managed to get our vehicle to a driveable condition. What was the most important aspect of this episode was the calmness and control that Rachid demonstrated. I did not see him getting flustered or in panic; he calmly went about the process of getting the vehicle restored. I and all others in my group were really impressed by this.

A special mention to our fulltime driver Rachid, who was outstanding in his job and is great in conversation. There were really long drives and it is not easy to keep a bus full of people happy. He did that and also resolved all issues to our satisfaction.
He became just like our friend. Love him.

We canceled the guide tour of Fes and visited the city for 3 days by ourself.
The half a day tour of Rabat went well as our guide was professional and engaging.
Majid booked the desert camp : as soon as we arrived at the camp, we immediately realized that the camp was not the one we booked ( we were supposed to be in a luxurious camp for a night and we end up in a smelly, dirty etc. camp) We immediately sent a message to Majid to get a reimbursement of 300 $ as this was the difference in price between the 2 accommodation. We got the reimbursement the day after.
Our young driver for 2 weeks Moad was pretty good and we had pretty good time with him !!

We always felt very safe and taken care of. Our guide in Fez (Sharif) was also great - took us to see all the major highlights and just gave us an over-all fun experience.

A couple of very minor things - when we stayed in the oasis overnight, the guide there could have been a little bit better. It sounds like it's still a developing travel destination, but it would be super helpful to have a guide who spoke better English. There was a bit of a communication/understanding barrier, but again, just a small nit pick.

Food tour of Marrakech was definitely one of the highlights - would highly recommend it as part of any itinerary.

Thank you Ali, Said and the whole Kimkim team and guides for an unforgettable experience.

I didn't have to worry about the timings, how to get places because he was on top of it. This let me enjoy the trip with my kids instead of stressing over timetables and calling guides.
One day, my daughter was pretty sick on our way to the Sahara dessert where we were to stay the night. Oussama elected to stay in a tent, in the dessert also, in case my daughter got worse and needed help.
Our guides were also fabulous. Sharef, in Fes, was patient and full of knowledge. We were passing a veterinary clinic set up for the working animals in Fes. I asked to stop by there. He said sure and we spent an hour there learning about their mission and learned the head vet went to the same school I did!
A cooking class was set up for us in someone's home- this was my son's favorite experience.
The hotels we stayed in were perfect.
I would definitely contact KimKim again to help me book another trip as we had local guides, met locals, were invited into their homes and were taken care of.

I am the 11 year old. The things I loved were when sharef took us to the medina in fes, he let us go into any place we wanted to. Also he took us to the best restaurants, an even took us to a place where they show you carpets. I also loved the old city in fes because all of the houses were beautiful. Also our amazing driver Oussama he took us everywhere and he took us to get lunch at places everywhere. Also he is one of the nicest drivers I have ever met. Thank you everyone.
