Hamza EL Asely

My name is Hamza, your personal travel expert and my passion is to create your dream holiday in Morocco.

To say it simply, I am passionate about travel. I have always been a very curious person and being surrounded by family members who work in the travel industry for many years, allowed me the opportunity to become a travel designer.

I believe that travel is far more than an opportunity to relax and recharge. It is the opportunity to experience cultures, beliefs, customs, and ideas that are different from our own. It provides an opportunity for understanding, learning, adventure and inspiration.

From the moment you leave the house to your safe return. I want your holiday, your honeymoon or adventure hike, to be as special as it can be.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"- Atlas Mountains
- Sahara Desert
- Imperial Cities
- Northern Morocco

I specialise in: Outdoor hiking, Cultural Tours, Community Projects, Outdoor Adventures, Local life, Custom-Made trips."

How did you get involved in travel?

"My passion for travel started a few years ago when l and went on road-trips with my brother Abdel, who is an experienced Tour guide and a Kimkim specialist.

I have accompanied Abdel on many treks and tours throughout the country which helped me gain an extensive knowledge of my country, its history and also its hidden gems which i am glad to share with my guests so they can enjoy a trip of lifetime in my beloved home country.

When I am not researching a trip for a guest, i am happily exploring a new places and experiences for myself and my friends – So many more places to visit and things to do!"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"My favourite destination in Morocco is the Sahara desert, where the beauty of the people and landscapes is unsurpassed.

The colours change according to the sun position, so you never get tired to look around the cliffs, the sand dunes, caves, a rare tent in afar, some camels and endless sand dunes. A magnificent wilderness which made my heart fell in love with the place forever. "

We had a wonderful 8-day trip through Morocco, led by Noureddine and Yassine from Original Travels. We started off in Tangier and spent the next week on a tour through Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga, Ait Benhaddou, Marrakech, and Casablanca. Along the way, we explored the Instagram-worthy sites of the blue city, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the thousands of alleys—and dead ends—in the Medina of Fes, the towering sand dunes of the Sahara, picturesque hillside kasbahs overlooking green oases below, the snow-covered heights of the Atlas Mountains, the contrast of the lively markets and peaceful gardens of Marrakech, and the enormous scale and beauty of the Hassan II Mosque.

The KimKim team worked with me on crafting a customized itinerary that incorporated all of the sites and activities we wanted and none of what we didn’t. They very graciously worked with me on changes to our travel plans and also were able to work around the Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament being hosted at the same time in Morocco as that necessitated adjustments to hotel bookings. I’ve never used a travel agency before and I have to say that it was so nice not to have to worry about researching locations, figuring out transportation, working out agendas, etc. It was all taken care of for me.

We met our guide, Nourredine, and our driver, Yassine, at the train station in Tangier and they really were a part of what made the trip work so well. Our mini tour bus provided ample space for all our bags in addition to 4 rows of seats to accommodate 5 people! Needless to say, it was a comfortable ride. I’ve never liked the idea of going on tours as I preferred to avoid the big crowds, so this was a perfect way to get the convenience of the tour with the private feeling of traveling on your own. Nourredine did an amazing job of ensuring our activities went smoothly and were set up to be ready to go as soon as we arrived at each location. We would pull up to a location and a guide would be waiting to escort us on our tour or we’d pull up at the next hotel or riad only to be ushered to a seating area to enjoy mint tea and cookies while our bags and check in process were taken care of for us. Nourredine handled curve balls without ever indicating that there was any problem, including a reschedule of our guided walk through Chefchaouen from the afternoon of our first day to the morning of our second when we told him we were simply too tired. Same thing for the next day as our tour of Volubilis was pushed back when we stayed longer than planned in Chefchaouen. Nourredine would make calls on our drive to the next location and ensure that the timing was worked out. We didn’t even have to worry about getting a table at the restaurants we stopped at on the road; Nourredine would walk in and arrange for our table, then we’d be escorted in to be seated. Definitely royal treatment that I could get used to having!

As for Yassine, it was a pleasure to not have to worry about getting to our various stops safely. I’m usually pretty adventurous when it comes to driving in other countries, but road conditions in some of the more remote areas were not great, and it was comforting to have the confidence that we were being driven by an expert. When going through one small town at the edge of the desert, we encountered a flooded main road and had to navigate through the back alleys of the town to make it past and let me just say that Yassine really knew the dimensions of the vehicle quite well as there was not much room to spare to get through a couple of spots. Nature also threw us a wrinkle of heavy snow in the Atlas Mountains and Yassine had already taken this into account and planned an alternate route. Finally, when my daughter woke up not feeling well the morning before the last pass through the Atlas Mountains, Yassine was absolutely wonderful to her, taking a seat out of the bus so she could sit and admire the view at one of the roadside stops and then driving at a slower-than-usual speed in the mountain switchbacks to keep her comfortable. The driver is often forgotten on these sorts of trips, but our experience showed that having a good one can be quite critical.

Overall, I will sum up by saying that from booking to execution, this experience was a wonderful one and I wholeheartedly recommend KimKim, Original Travels, Nourredine, and Yassine to anyone who is considering a trip to Morocco.

Honestly not my favorite hotel. Beautiful location and the place had a lot of character with a lovely entry and dining area and some of the rooms built into the towers. Staff were very friendly as well. So, there were a number of positives. That said, the rooms didn’t feel very clean and were in need of some sprucing up. Sheets, pillows, and towels were a bit ragged. Lights were either dim or not working well, Bathtubs needed a really good scrub. One cracked window and others with a pretty heavy coating of dirt/dust. One of our two rooms would not lock from the inside (used real keys here, but the key wouldn’t turn the lock from the inside). Also, worth noting that my daughter had food poisoning after eating dinner here. While this could have happened anywhere and may not have been the hotel’s fault, it was the only time this occurred on the trip and combined with the relatively strange way dinner was served (5 chicken tajine orders were served in 3 tajines and 2 on plates, with French fries in the tajines and rice on the plated versions), this just felt like it was worth noting. We rolled with it, but there was another table that was clearly very upset with how their meal came out and they sent a few dishes back. I don’t think I’d necessarily stay at this hotel again.

Staff were super friendly and played songs by the campfire after dinner.
Cleanliness & Comfort
This was a campsite, so keep that in mind. That said, it was cleaner than some hotels we’ve stayed at. I was also amazed that the shower was nice & hot and the heater was adequate to keep the tent from getting too cold overnight (keeping in mind this was winter).

Nice location at the top of the Medina with nice view overlooking the rest of the town. Accommodations were modern, the restaurant was very good, and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again.

Not as much character as some of the places we stayed, but the trade-off was modern and nicely appointed rooms.

Edge of the Medina at the very top. Very good location in terms of being dropped off by a car and having your bags brought to the hotel.

Communication with the local specialists, Hamza and Said (with Original Travels) was great. They understood what was important to us and made sure we were kept in the loop with any changes. While everything was taken care of as far as hotels and guides, we had to proactively ask for confirmation #s, so we could feel comfortable and secure prior to arriving in Morocco. They provided all the details we asked for and we received everything we needed prior to arriving in Morocco.

What made our trip the absolute greatest was our local driver, Soufiane. He was the one that really made the magic and experience come to life for us. He struck the perfect balance of professional and personal - always making sure we were taken care of and comfortable. Our precocious 6 year old son was thrilled to be in his presence and befriended him almost immediately. By the 2nd day, Soufiane went from just being our driver to a friend to travel with. He was punctual, kind, and genuinely gracious. Without him our trip would have felt mediocre. If you travel to Morocco and book with kimkim, be sure to ask for Soufiane - you won't regret it. Thank you, Soufiane, for making this trip unforgettable and helping us create some core memories. You'll always be part of our experience there.

Our favorite cities were Fes and Marrakesh. We almost wish we had moved one of our days in Marrakesh to Fes, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Marrakesh nonetheless!

Mouad, the receptionist at Riad Batchisarai in Fes, was extremely kind and accommodating. He went out of his way to prepare us breakfast when we had an early departure, and also helped guide us to a restaurant in Fes when we were worried about getting lost at night. The room itself was also great, spacious and high ceilings.

The room we had at Riad Terra Bahia in Marrakesh was unfortunately a little too small for us to fit our luggage comfortably. The staff, however, were very accommodating.

It was great to have a 6-seater car, we were able to take turns lying down on the long drives between destinations. The only thing I wish was that the windows could open, as I get nauseous easily without fresh air in cars. But being able to lie down was very helpful to combat that.

Overall, a delightful trip! Booking this with KimKim made everything so much easier.

First and foremost our wonderful driver Farid. Btw if you are reading this Farid, kids are still asking about you. He was so patient with us, and so helpful in many situations and kids absolutely love him! He got us safely everywhere from Casablanca to Fez, Merzouga to Dedes and Marrakesh. He never complained about the long hours on the road.
As for the trip, we had only 8 days. but I feel we did a lot. We visited Casablanca, walked in medinas of Fez and Marrakesh; camped in the desert and visited many cabas that were on the way to Marrakesh. All guides that were provided were very knowledgeable with special shout out to Randy who was out guide in Marrakesh. He delivered phenomenal tour full of historical and cultural facts. We truly enjoyed it. Our favorite part was definitely in the desert. Over there we visited a nomad Berber family. The experience was really one of a kind and it put a lot of things in the perspective.
If you are having doubts about signing up to get to see this beautiful country, don't. They are very hospitable and I felt completely safe. Hotels and riads we stayed at were amazing and 5/5.
Thank you to Original travel and KimKim for making this family vacation unforgettable one!

We were able to see everything we wanted and happy to recommend to our friends. The only glitch we had was during the final plan, when we were told that Marrakech was not inour tour itinerary. this is the most important place. During planning, on Sep 26th there was a half day tour of Marrakesh. When they updated the trip plan to include Rabat instead of Chefchaouen, I thought other sections were not changed. Anyway, after landing , we decided to leave later in the afternoon the next day allowing for us to see Marrakech and in the end it worked out. Glad that we went to several cities within a week and Mustapha helped to achieve that.

Could be better. there was water dripping from the sink. dinner choice was not there and cost was higher than expected. Breakfast was average. It was away from the main route and we have to drive further to reach this place.

We appreciate your honest feedback about the accommodations and meals, especially at Dar Rihana Dades, and we’ll take your notes into account to improve future trips. We’re also happy that, despite the Marrakech mix-up, you were able to visit and enjoy the city.

It’s wonderful to hear that you’d recommend your trip to friends, that means a lot to us. We hope Morocco left you with great memories, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime for another adventure!

Our family had an amazing 10-day trip to Morocco over the New Year’s Eve holiday early this year. Morocco was a very good choice for our trip - so many friendly people, beautiful landscapes and fascinating history. The itinerary put together with Hamza really made the trip for us. We started in Rabat, which let us see the capital city first to get oriented, and then traveled around the country clockwise, ending in Marrakesh.

The highlights of the trip for us are too many to mention. Off the top of my head: seeing macaques in the snow in the Middle Atlas mountains, riding camels at sunset in the Erg Chebbi desert, learning how to properly prepare Moroccan tea in Imlil, seeing daily life in the backstreets of Marrakesh, eating dinner with a local family in Fes, and taking pictures all of the many, many cats.

We were fortunate to have Samir as our driver for the trip. Samir is an excellent and professional driver, very safe and knowledgeable. He was skilled at communicating the logistics of our tour, keeping us informed and checking in on us through WhatsApp. Meeting times and places were always clear and easy. Samir made sure we moved efficiently from place to place, found our other local guides, and helped us get the most out of everything along the way. Samir’s many kind touches along the way were a great part of our wonderful trip.

Samir suggested many stops based on our interests, and all of them were top-notch additions. We especially enjoyed the Atlas movie studio visit in Ouarzazate, the stop at a geology museum and rock shop, and many interesting food and cultural places along the way. His advice on local customs and his familiarity with towns and people and food along the way were a big help.

All of our local guides were also outstanding: Sharif in Fes, Hanan in Marrakesh, Ahmed at Tiziri Camp in the Sahara, and Mohammed in Imlil.

But the real adventure started when Karim picked us up at the airport. Over the course of our trip he was our driver, guide, photographer, entertainer, and friend. Of course we enjoyed all the epic destinations (thanks again to Said for setting us up with exactly the experiences we were looking for!) for the but the journey was just as good thanks to Karim. He was so generous with his time, stories, knowledge and smiles. Getting to know the locals is always a highlight of traveling for me and Karim really delivered for us! He introduced us to friends, took us to his favorite local spots, and sent us home with memories to last a lifetime.
