"My favourite destination in Morocco is the Sahara desert, where the beauty of the people and landscapes is unsurpassed.
The colours change according to the sun position, so you never get tired to look around the cliffs, the sand dunes, caves, a rare tent in afar, some camels and endless sand dunes. A magnificent wilderness which made my heart fell in love with the place forever. "

Mouad, the receptionist at Riad Batchisarai in Fes, was extremely kind and accommodating. He went out of his way to prepare us breakfast when we had an early departure, and also helped guide us to a restaurant in Fes when we were worried about getting lost at night. The room itself was also great, spacious and high ceilings.
The room we had at Riad Terra Bahia in Marrakesh was unfortunately a little too small for us to fit our luggage comfortably. The staff, however, were very accommodating.
It was great to have a 6-seater car, we were able to take turns lying down on the long drives between destinations. The only thing I wish was that the windows could open, as I get nauseous easily without fresh air in cars. But being able to lie down was very helpful to combat that.
Overall, a delightful trip! Booking this with KimKim made everything so much easier.

First and foremost our wonderful driver Farid. Btw if you are reading this Farid, kids are still asking about you. He was so patient with us, and so helpful in many situations and kids absolutely love him! He got us safely everywhere from Casablanca to Fez, Merzouga to Dedes and Marrakesh. He never complained about the long hours on the road.
As for the trip, we had only 8 days. but I feel we did a lot. We visited Casablanca, walked in medinas of Fez and Marrakesh; camped in the desert and visited many cabas that were on the way to Marrakesh. All guides that were provided were very knowledgeable with special shout out to Randy who was out guide in Marrakesh. He delivered phenomenal tour full of historical and cultural facts. We truly enjoyed it. Our favorite part was definitely in the desert. Over there we visited a nomad Berber family. The experience was really one of a kind and it put a lot of things in the perspective.
If you are having doubts about signing up to get to see this beautiful country, don't. They are very hospitable and I felt completely safe. Hotels and riads we stayed at were amazing and 5/5.
Thank you to Original travel and KimKim for making this family vacation unforgettable one!
Hotel Reviews
Riad was beautiful and people there were absolutely amazing. However room that was given to us had a bathroom outside the room and across the hall. It wouldn't be a problem but hallways were really cold so taking a shower was uncomfortable. Also we couldn't get heater to work inside of the room . Kids room was much bigger, and their heater worked.
Location
It is very close to medina.
Staff
Probably the best part of this riad. Very, very welcoming. We even met the owner.
Tiziri Luxury Camp
Merzouga
This was truly one of a kind experience. The camp was equiped with everything! They even have wifi!
Heaters were running too at night so we didn't feel cold a bit. Each camp has it's own bathroom with sink, shower and toilet. They just ask you conserve the water. Which given the circumstance is VERY reasonable.
Location
You are in the middle of Sahara desert!
Staff
They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Food was also great in their restaurant. Probably the best beef tagine I ate.
Cleanliness & Comfort
This felt like a spa more than a camp which I wanted.
Dar Rihana Dades
Douar Aït Ouffi
It is a bit remote hotel but it is absolutely beautiful. Beds weren't that comfortable though.
The hotel has restaurant off site so you have to walk to the building next door to go to breakfast/ dinner.
and actually, the best part of it is food. It is very fine dining and delicious. I didn't expect that. Even simple breakfast was elevated.
Location
It is a bit far away from the action.
Riad Le Pèlerin
Marrakech
This was the best place we stayed period.
Rooms- very clean and very comfortable. The best bed sheets by far!
Breakfast- fantastic! Fresh and delicious.
Staff- THE BEST! First night we came super late and the kids were hungry. He used his app to order pizza for us and then waited with me for the delivery to come even though his shift was over. That's going extra mile for a customer.
Location
You are literally inside of Medina. The cars won't go in so prepare to walk from a drop off point to the riad with your luggage.

This would've been better if our flight wasn't delayed for 4 hours. So we were late to go inside of the mosque. But we went all around and took few pictures. Took us half an hour. The rest was driving through the traitorous traffic of Casablanca.

We were able to see everything we wanted and happy to recommend to our friends. The only glitch we had was during the final plan, when we were told that Marrakech was not inour tour itinerary. this is the most important place. During planning, on Sep 26th there was a half day tour of Marrakesh. When they updated the trip plan to include Rabat instead of Chefchaouen, I thought other sections were not changed. Anyway, after landing , we decided to leave later in the afternoon the next day allowing for us to see Marrakech and in the end it worked out. Glad that we went to several cities within a week and Mustapha helped to achieve that.

Our family had an amazing 10-day trip to Morocco over the New Year’s Eve holiday early this year. Morocco was a very good choice for our trip - so many friendly people, beautiful landscapes and fascinating history. The itinerary put together with Hamza really made the trip for us. We started in Rabat, which let us see the capital city first to get oriented, and then traveled around the country clockwise, ending in Marrakesh.
The highlights of the trip for us are too many to mention. Off the top of my head: seeing macaques in the snow in the Middle Atlas mountains, riding camels at sunset in the Erg Chebbi desert, learning how to properly prepare Moroccan tea in Imlil, seeing daily life in the backstreets of Marrakesh, eating dinner with a local family in Fes, and taking pictures all of the many, many cats.
We were fortunate to have Samir as our driver for the trip. Samir is an excellent and professional driver, very safe and knowledgeable. He was skilled at communicating the logistics of our tour, keeping us informed and checking in on us through WhatsApp. Meeting times and places were always clear and easy. Samir made sure we moved efficiently from place to place, found our other local guides, and helped us get the most out of everything along the way. Samir’s many kind touches along the way were a great part of our wonderful trip.
Samir suggested many stops based on our interests, and all of them were top-notch additions. We especially enjoyed the Atlas movie studio visit in Ouarzazate, the stop at a geology museum and rock shop, and many interesting food and cultural places along the way. His advice on local customs and his familiarity with towns and people and food along the way were a big help.
All of our local guides were also outstanding: Sharif in Fes, Hanan in Marrakesh, Ahmed at Tiziri Camp in the Sahara, and Mohammed in Imlil.

Chefcaouen was beautiful and perhaps our most favorite city. I’m so glad we added an extra night and wished we even had more time there. Omar, our hiking guide, assessed our ability and took us on extended trails to beautiful sites. He later met us for a hike up to the Spanish Mosque for sunset with his dog as we were both dog lovers and missing our own at home. Fes was worthwhile and the trip out to the desert for luxury tent camping and a camel ride was unique. We spent time in the mountains, visited the gorge, walked through the oasis, and had a lovely afternoon with a local family who could not have been more welcoming. I will admit that Marrakech at the end of the trip was a bit overwhelming after spending so much time in country but we took advantage of the resort and had a quiet afternoon poolside before meeting our driver again for a very fun local nightclub experience. I would highly recommend KimKim to anyone wishing to plan a visit to Morocco and I will certainly use them again for my future travels elsewhere.

Mohammad was a wonderful waiter and ensured we were enjoying ourselves. The food was very good even thought it was a set menu but loved the fact that most of the menu was sourced right from the property.
This was an absolutely beautiful property but honestly it was a bit too fancy for our liking. We probably would have been happier in something a little more down graded. I was traveling with a friend and all our other accommodations provided us with individual beds. When we arrived, we were told we were assigned a single king bed, when asked if they could accommodate us in a room with separate beds, the cost we were told would be $800 USD per night to accommodate (obviously we didn’t make the change). We also found this property to be more expensive for drinks and opted not to eat there. We found the staff pleasant but not was warm and comforting as our other stays.

We felt like we were relatives over for a visit. Mustafa was out local guide and he treated us like we were his best friends right from the beginning, brought us to some of his favorite “trusted” shops, and even took the time to find us a bottle of wine and bring it to our hotel so we could enjoy a rooftop dinner.

Said arranged for a wonderful trip for us. Karim was our driver and was fantastic! He shared his fascinating personal stories with us and navigated difficult traffic always with calm and a smile! I would not recommend the cooking class - not worth it and really just watching people make lunch. Otherwise the hotels and Riads were all wonderful - Riad Mohktar in Tangier; Riad Pelerin in Marrakesh and Riad Lina in Chefchaouen and Riad Braya in Fes - all amazing. We were 2 couples travelling and this trip did not disappoint. Well paced!

Private Cooking Class in Fes
Fes
This was a bomb. The guide didn’t really give us any information. We waited for an hour on a bench with no instructions. The “class” was really watching a woman cook us lunch. We chopped an onion and a few tomatoes. Zero instruction. Then we ate lunch which was almost inedible. The guide was nowhere to be found so we left.

This was a fun short excursion and something to add on but not a “must do”.

The only disappointment was the driver and van. It was very uncomfortable and should have had at least a chilly bin with drinks and better seats for the long trips and hot weather. I think this was sorted...

The only disappointment was the driver and van. It was very uncomfortable and should have had at least a chilly bin with drinks and better seats for the long trips and hot weather. I think this was sorted for future days after I left.
The driver had very limited knowledge and was really just a taxi driver. He also used his phone while driving which was very dangerous as he was unsure of directions.
I did appreciate the ride back to Casablanca so I could catch my flight home.

We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the hotels and that your visit to the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca was a highlight. At the same time, we sincerely apologize for the discomfort you experienced with the vehicle and driver. This is not the standard we strive for, and your comments are being taken very seriously. We have already made adjustments after you left to ensure that vehicle and the driver maintain both professionalism and safety at all times.
We also understand your point about the mall stop and appreciate you highlighting this, it helps us refine the experience for future travelers.
We’re grateful you were still able to experience some of Morocco’s beauty during your short stay, and we truly appreciate your kind words about the assistance provided for your return to Casablanca.
Best Wishes,
Hamza
