Hamza EL Asely

My name is Hamza, your personal travel expert and my passion is to create your dream holiday in Morocco.

To say it simply, I am passionate about travel. I have always been a very curious person and being surrounded by family members who work in the travel industry for many years, allowed me the opportunity to become a travel designer.

I believe that travel is far more than an opportunity to relax and recharge. It is the opportunity to experience cultures, beliefs, customs, and ideas that are different from our own. It provides an opportunity for understanding, learning, adventure and inspiration.

From the moment you leave the house to your safe return. I want your holiday, your honeymoon or adventure hike, to be as special as it can be.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"- Atlas Mountains
- Sahara Desert
- Imperial Cities
- Northern Morocco

I specialise in: Outdoor hiking, Cultural Tours, Community Projects, Outdoor Adventures, Local life, Custom-Made trips."

How did you get involved in travel?

"My passion for travel started a few years ago when l and went on road-trips with my brother Abdel, who is an experienced Tour guide and a Kimkim specialist.

I have accompanied Abdel on many treks and tours throughout the country which helped me gain an extensive knowledge of my country, its history and also its hidden gems which i am glad to share with my guests so they can enjoy a trip of lifetime in my beloved home country.

When I am not researching a trip for a guest, i am happily exploring a new places and experiences for myself and my friends – So many more places to visit and things to do!"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"My favourite destination in Morocco is the Sahara desert, where the beauty of the people and landscapes is unsurpassed.

The colours change according to the sun position, so you never get tired to look around the cliffs, the sand dunes, caves, a rare tent in afar, some camels and endless sand dunes. A magnificent wilderness which made my heart fell in love with the place forever. "

A Magical 10-day Family Trip in Morocco

Our family had an amazing 10-day trip to Morocco over the New Year’s Eve holiday early this year. Morocco was a very good choice for our trip - so many friendly people, beautiful landscapes and fascinating history. The itinerary put together with Hamza really made the trip for us. We started in Rabat, which let us see the capital city first to get oriented, and then traveled around the country clockwise, ending in Marrakesh.

The highlights of the trip for us are too many to mention. Off the top of my head: seeing macaques in the snow in the Middle Atlas mountains, riding camels at sunset in the Erg Chebbi desert, learning how to properly prepare Moroccan tea in Imlil, seeing daily life in the backstreets of Marrakesh, eating dinner with a local family in Fes, and taking pictures all of the many, many cats.

We were fortunate to have Samir as our driver for the trip. Samir is an excellent and professional driver, very safe and knowledgeable. He was skilled at communicating the logistics of our tour, keeping us informed and checking in on us through WhatsApp. Meeting times and places were always clear and easy. Samir made sure we moved efficiently from place to place, found our other local guides, and helped us get the most out of everything along the way. Samir’s many kind touches along the way were a great part of our wonderful trip.

Samir suggested many stops based on our interests, and all of them were top-notch additions. We especially enjoyed the Atlas movie studio visit in Ouarzazate, the stop at a geology museum and rock shop, and many interesting food and cultural places along the way. His advice on local customs and his familiarity with towns and people and food along the way were a big help.

All of our local guides were also outstanding: Sharif in Fes, Hanan in Marrakesh, Ahmed at Tiziri Camp in the Sahara, and Mohammed in Imlil.

Hi Rebecka,

Thank you so much for your lovely words! We’re so happy to hear you had such a great time in Morocco. Karim really enjoys sharing his country, and we’re glad he made your journey fun, personal, and full of local experiences.

It’s also great that Said could help set up the experiences you were hoping for. It’s wonderful to know that both the places you visited and the people you met made your trip so memorable.

Thank you for letting us be part of your Moroccan journey!

I cannot praise Karim, our driver, enoughfor making our trip an incredible experience. He took the time to get to know us and adapted our travels to ensure we had the ultimate Moroccan experience including meeting several of his friends and taking us to local hangouts. Chefcaouen was beautiful and perhaps our most favorite city. I’m so glad we added an extra night and wished we even had more time there. Omar, our hiking guide, assessed our ability and took us on extended trails to beautiful sites. He later met us for a hike up to the Spanish Mosque for sunset with his dog as we were both dog lovers and missing our own at home. Fes was worthwhile and the trip out to the desert for luxury tent camping and a camel ride was unique. We spent time in the mountains, visited the gorge, walked through the oasis, and had a lovely afternoon with a local family who could not have been more welcoming. I will admit that Marrakech at the end of the trip was a bit overwhelming after spending so much time in country but we took advantage of the resort and had a quiet afternoon poolside before meeting our driver again for a very fun local nightclub experience. I would highly recommend KimKim to anyone wishing to plan a visit to Morocco and I will certainly use them again for my future travels elsewhere.

This was an absolutely beautiful property but honestly it was a bit too fancy for our liking. We probably would have been happier in something a little more down graded. I was traveling with a friend and all our other accommodations provided us with individual beds. When we arrived, we were told we were assigned a single king bed, when asked if they could accommodate us in a room with separate beds, the cost we were told would be $800 USD per night to accommodate (obviously we didn’t make the change). We also found this property to be more expensive for drinks and opted not to eat there. We found the staff pleasant but not was warm and comforting as our other stays.

This was probably our favorite stay in Morocco. The city was beautiful and the people so welcoming. Omar was a perfect guide for our hike to Gods Arch and the waterfall. We had such a fun time with Omar, he met us later in the day and took us up to the Spanish Mosque to watch the sunset followed. Y a visit to his home and a chance to meet his family. We felt like we were relatives over for a visit. Mustafa was out local guide and he treated us like we were his best friends right from the beginning, brought us to some of his favorite “trusted” shops, and even took the time to find us a bottle of wine and bring it to our hotel so we could enjoy a rooftop dinner.

Shariff was a great guide. Lots of fun and knowledgeable. Had a good lunch during the day. We were brought to a rug shop where they offered us tea and talked to us about the different rugs. Felt the pricing may have been misrepresented and my friend later realized she spent way more than she thought she was quoted. We later read reviews online of that specific rug place and others had posted they had similar experiences.

The only disappointment was the driver and van. It was very uncomfortable and should have had at least a chilly bin with drinks and better seats for the long trips and hot weather. I think this was sorted for future days after I left.

The driver had very limited knowledge and was really just a taxi driver. He also used his phone while driving which was very dangerous as he was unsure of directions.

I did appreciate the ride back to Casablanca so I could catch my flight home.

It's been six months and I am still raving about the awesomeness of it all!

Special shout out to Hamza, our driver- a very careful and awesome driver who became our friend after countless hours of driving through Morocco! There were some disappointments- for example, no tour guide at Rabat and we skipped some sites due to miscommunication, but Said was very responsive and fixed the situation as soon as I contacted him. He made sure we had a guide in every city after that. Overall, the trip was fantastic and we learned a lot about the history, food, and people of Morocco. Thank you, Hamza, Said, and Hamza! =)

It's a cute, small boutique hotel in a small village in the Dades valley with a super friendly staff and the best food we had in Morocco. The owner went out of his way to accommodate our needs, and I wish I had cash to tip more. We stayed two nights and had dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights- both fantastic- but they only take cash so be prepared!

Made a short stop at Rabat- Our driver dropped us off at the Mausoleum- we just wandered around without knowing what we were looking at, and a local guide started talking to us. He provided some explanation, which was fine, but then he pressured us to pay him 400 Mdhars. Wish we had a proper guide with us and shown us around a bit more- it looked like an interesting city.

No wind, so we had to cancel. They switched us to regular surfing lesson on day 1 - which was ok but not what we signed up for. There was some miscommunication between our trip organizer and the vendor who did not know that we were coming on a windless day , etc. Apparently, the surfing instructor (Salim?) was outstanding but the overall experience was not great. We are still trying get refunded for kitesurfing - we were supposed to kite surf 2 days and it's much more expensive than regular surfing, which we did only 1 day.

The food was fantastic, the landscapes, the smaller and larger towns, the mountains, Roman ruins and, of course, the camel ride and camping in the desert - all of which far exceeded our expectations. What made our trip so special though was not just these places...it was our driver, Tayeb. He expertly navigated mountain roads, through villages to the desert and back and, throughout our journey found the perfect stops for coffee and great lunch stops. He also made terrific dinner recommendations and always made sure we knew about the towns we were staying in. Above and beyond that, Tayeb was great company and made even the longest of our drives between cities go very quickly with his easy-to-get-along-with personality. If you have a driver as great as Tayeb, you'll have an amazing time exploring Morocco! I should also add that we had guides in both Fes and Marrakech...which are essential. The complex alleys and small roads makes it impossible for a visitor to navigate without expert guidance. Sharif was our guide in Fes and he was extremely knowledgeable about how to navigate the streets of Fes' marketplace. Mohammed was our guide in Marrakech and he, too, was an expert navigator and guide. Also, Said from Original Travel was extremely responsive throughout our journeys in Morocco...and we would not have had our amazing driver Tayeb or our amazing guides without him.

This Riad is in a very small town that we probably would not have stopped at on our own if we had designed every element of our itinerary by ourselves. I'm so glad our travel agent included this stop. The Riad looks unassuming on the outside (as most do) but there was a lovely pool, gardens to walk through in the back and the food was truly gourmet. It's decorated in a more modern way, and it was, overall, a lovely place to spend a night in between long travels between 2 larger cities.
