Traveled as a group of four friends to the Andalusia area of Spain. Our travel specialist Raquel worked with our group and put together 12 day itinerary that met all of our needs perfectly. We loved the kimkim app which had ever detail of our day to day plan, tours, tickets, recommendation , etc and we referred to it non-stop.

Our trip was seamless, from our airport pickup in Seville, car rental, hotels, tours, tickets…through to the end. As per our request, and of course with Raquel’s assistance we were able to hit all the places on our wish list. We visited Seville, Cordoba (day trip), Cádiz, Grenada, Rhonda, Malaga and day trip to Nerja.
Our hotels in each location were in excellent locations for walking in the historic districts and meeting locations for tours. All accommodations exceeded our expectations with attentive staff, beautiful rooms, and delicious breakfasts included. We particularly enjoyed the H10 hotels that we stayed at in Seville and Malaga.
Our arranged private tours were exceptional with local knowledgeable tour guides. They all had educations and backgrounds that enhanced the experiences. We had a great variety of history, culture, food, and fun with lots of laughs along the way.

Our trip to Spain and Portugal was our second time using KimKim and we were as pleased with this trip as our first trip. They worked with us to put together our travel plans and come up with our itinerary. They coordinated our travel from city to city and were available if we needed their assistance. Our hotels were exactly as we requested, historic and easily within walking distance to the old city centers. Our guides were knowledgeable and proud to talk about their cities' history. In particular, our Gaudi guide Ruth was very helpful and knowledgeable about Gaudi and made our tour very enjoyable. Our drivers /guides were also very knowledgeable and helpful, in particular Rubin and Cesar. On our travel days KimKim was in touch with us to ensure that there were no issues.

We had an amazing time in Madrid, Sevilla and Barcelona! All our guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. Some highlights were the evening tapas tour in Madrid with Aranxta, Ronda and White Villages day trip from Sevilla with Carlos and Park Guell/La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona with Marc. All our hotels were located in very convenient and lively neighborhoods. All our private transfers were on time and drivers communicated with us in a timely fashion.

We had a great time in Barcelona and Madrid! Great tapas tours in both cities! The hotels were located in convenient places and were great. The only snafu was we lost contact with a driver. Turned out it was my fault because didn’t have internet, but when I called Kimkim they were very helpful. ( please note that what’s app does indeed require internet to get messages!)

From the very first interaction, the people at KimKim were extremely helpful. Julia spent a lot of time with me - helping me plan the trip I wanted to take. She listened to my interests and then crafted an incredible trip for us. Choices of hotels, information on what to do in each city, tours, self-guided walks etc. With KimKim the trip felt seamless; there were people to fetch us and return us to the airports or train stations. The hotels were great, centrally located and the people who worked at them were also extremely helpful. We had several private tours which were beyond our expectations: Carlos at the Prado in Madrid (who by the way suggested places to visit or eat in the other cities as well.) Took us through the museum showing us the highlights but also gleaning our interests and making sure we some of those as well. Then a different Carlos led us through the Alhambra – incredibly knowledgeable about the history, art and architecture of the incredible building and its surrounding, Finally, Ann-Marie our guide through the Sagrada -also so knowledgeable bringing that structure to life for us. (she was even able to talk the ticket people to let us in as we were late due to the torrential downpours. But most impressive of all was how incredibly responsive everyone at KimKim was to our needs. If I texted with a question – I got an answer within minutes. Thank you KimKim for helping us have the trip of a lifetime. You will definitely be hearing from us again.

I learned a great deal in planning this trip with Coraima. I had worked very hard on what I wanted to see and do. She had put it all together and with 2 months before we paid our bill. I then noticed a few changes or things that logistically that would not work and requested changes. That was a bit of a no no. But she went to bat for me and made each of them come true. The accommodations in Seville exceeded our expectations. We had a 2 hour guide to begin our time in Seville. She was not terribly inciteful but very nice. BUT, the brilliance of the guide, Carlos that we had for 3 different 9 hour day adventures outside of Seville was the BEST. He knew every detail both historically , culturally gastronomically. He knew people everywhere we went and so he could really coordinate timing and every detail. We only used Kim Kim for train to Madrid and hotel. The location was perfect and although hotel could use a bit of updating, the staff etc were terrific. Kim Kim has once again given us a great trip with lasting memories!

Every large space as well as the rooms the breakfasts were incredible and the staff so accommodating. Each nite for 45 minutes , we had a Spanish guitarist and could enjoy a glass of wine. Initially, when we walked into this hotel we felt a bit if disappointment it wasn’t as updated as to style as what we’ve experienced. It looked a bit work. But we learned as time went on. . The location was fabulous. In the barrier des Lettres, far more intimate and interesting than most if Madrid. The breakfasts had much to offer but only moderately good as to quality. The rooms were comfortable and the showers very good. Staff- lovely. We ended up feeling glad we had stayed there!

Marina - Trip Advisor - special thanks for making this first experience to Europe and Mallorca so memorable. The patience she showed me with all of my asks, changes, and delays was so appreciated. Everything recommended was spot on for what I (and my husband) needed for this vacation. We did find ourselves a little frustrated with driving to Palma due to the distance, but on our last day we found the Port of Pollença so we were able to enjoy an easy dinner and night out without commuting. I realize the great, talked about restaurants were near Palma but they were some fine options in Pollença too!

Hoposa Niu - loved the staff (special thanks to Xisca, Veronica, Paola), the complimentary breakfast, the restaurant, and Cala Barques. The rooms were a bit small (maybe it is Europe style since we didn't have anything to compare it too) but it was great.

Sail Palma - loved our captain and Patricia. Overall great experience to see that side of Palma.

Wine Tasting - it was a lovely experience. The group being small, the knowledge shared, the friendliness was amazing. Where we thought we were going to go to like a vineyard, the small winery style was great. Downside was the hot/humid status in the building but survivable.

Spain Important Trip Information: Please Review Before Departure

We had an excellent time during our two weeks in Spain (Barcelona, Granada, Ronda and Malaga). Excellent private tours, great itinerary, lots of free time and a relaxed travel schedule. The hotels were wonderful, and I love that all the in country travel was taken care, made everything so stress free. Highlights include the private Gaudi tour and bike tour in Barcelona, private tour of the Alhambra in Granada plus a lovely hike in the Sierra Nevada. All the guides knew their stuff. Thank you KimKim!

A memorable trip, and as always with KimKim, every detail taken care of well before the start.
Alfonso interpreted what we were looking for extremely well, and the ever helpful daily programme complete with all necessary information is a godsend.
Hotels throughout the trip were as requested , and all very good.
Our 3 guides were all outstanding, pleasant individuals, answered our questions rather than overburdening us with facts, and fitted the tours exactly to our requests and physical ability.

I had such a wonderful experience planning my Mallorca trip with Anna through Kimkim. From the beginning, she really listened to what I wanted to see and do and tailored the itinerary around my interests and preferences. It felt very personalised rather than like a standard itinerary, and everything was planned so well logistically that I was able to make the most of my time on the island without ever feeling overwhelmed.

Everything was incredibly well organised, and the entire trip went smoothly from start to finish. This was my first solo trip, so it was especially reassuring knowing that Anna was always available and on hand whenever I had a question or needed help with anything. I had a really lovely stay at HM Ayron Park. The hotel itself is beautiful, with very nice aesthetics throughout, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. The pool area was great, with plenty of seating and lots of space to relax. My room was clean, comfortable and cosy, and I had a lovely view from my balcony. The location was also one of the highlights for me. It was very convenient for getting into Palma, while also having easy access to the beach and being well located for getting to different activities around Mallorca. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily recommend HM Ayron Park to anyone visiting Mallorca.

Mallorca Catamaran & Snorkeling Trip

I had such a lovely time on this catamaran trip. The whole experience was really relaxing and enjoyable, and it was a great way to spend the day out on the water. We made two stops where we could swim and snorkel, which was so much fun. The time spent on the catamaran itself was just as enjoyable, with nice music, a relaxed atmosphere and a barbecue on board, which was really good. Everything came together to make it such a pleasant experience. I really enjoyed the trip and would definitely recommend it!

Mallorca Scenic Island Circuit

I really enjoyed the Mallorca Scenic Island Circuit. It was such a lovely way to see so much of the northern part of Mallorca in one day, with beautiful scenery and lots of different experiences along the way. We started from Palma, drove past Inca and then continued into the Tramuntana Mountains, where the views were absolutely incredible. We stopped at the Santuari de Lluc, which was really interesting to visit, before continuing through the mountains to Sa Calobra. The scenery there was beautiful, and I especially enjoyed seeing the canyon. From there, we took a boat along the coast to Port de Sóller, with gorgeous views throughout the journey. Port de Sóller was one of my favourite stops. It is such a beautiful place, and I loved trying the delicious local orange ice cream and seeing the cute orange trams. We then took the historic tram into Sóller, which was also very pretty, with its lovely town centre and church. Finally, we took the historic wooden train back towards Palma, which was such a cool experience and a perfect way to end the day. There was so much variety throughout the trip, and it was a fantastic way to experience different parts of Mallorca in one day. I would definitely recommend it!

The tour itself was very enjoyable, but I think some of the communication from the guide could have been clearer. In particular, at the monastery stop, the meeting point for returning to the group was not explained clearly enough, which caused some confusion when it was time to meet again. For a tour with several stops and different meeting points throughout the day, I think clearer and more specific instructions would have made the experience run more smoothly. Overall, the guide was fine and I enjoyed the day, but the communication could definitely be improved.

Day Trip to Mallorca Beaches

I absolutely loved this beach day trip with GOFURGO. It was honestly one of the highlights of my time in Mallorca. They picked me up close to my hotel, which made everything really easy from the beginning. I also loved that it was a small group. It made the experience feel much more personal and relaxed, and it was a great opportunity to meet and make friends with other people on the trip. We visited Cala Llombards, Cala s’Almunia and Caló des Moro, and the views at every stop were absolutely breathtaking. The whole day was perfectly paced, with enough time to actually enjoy each place without ever feeling rushed. I had such a great time relaxing on the beaches, swimming, snorkelling and even doing some cliff jumping, which made the day even more memorable. Each stop offered something a little different, and it was such a fun way to experience some of Mallorca’s most beautiful coastline. The GOFURGO team were fantastic, and the whole day was really well organised while still feeling relaxed and enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Mallorca!

Mallorca Coasteering Adventure: Cliff Jumps, Zip Lines & Coastal Challenges

This was such a great experience and something completely different for me. It definitely took me outside my comfort zone, but in a really fun and memorable way. Pickup was directly from my hotel, which was super convenient, and all the gear and equipment we needed was ready for us. I also really liked that it was a small group, which made the experience feel more comfortable and personal. We started with smaller jumps, and the guide was very patient, encouraging and helpful throughout. We then gradually progressed to bigger jumps, which was a great way to build up confidence. Along the way, we also got to go ziplining, which was another really fun part of the experience. Overall, it was exciting, challenging and something I am really glad I pushed myself to do. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a more adventurous experience in Mallorca!

Caves of Drach: Classical Music Concert & Boat Trip

The Drach Caves were absolutely spectacular and definitely worth visiting. The coach trip was very straightforward, with pickup available from Palma Aquarium or Palma city, and once we arrived we were free to explore the cave experience. There were quite a lot of people visiting, but that did not take away from how incredible the caves were. The formations, lighting and sheer scale of the caves were beautiful, and Lake Martel was particularly impressive. The highlight for me was the live classical concert on the lake. You are not allowed to record during the concert, which actually makes it even more immersive. Sitting inside the cave listening to live classical music while the musicians sail across the underground lake on a boat was such a unique and memorable experience. Afterwards, you also have the opportunity to take a short boat ride across the lake yourself. It is only a brief ride, but it gives you a completely different perspective of the cave and was a lovely addition to the experience. Overall, it was a beautiful way to experience one of Mallorca’s natural wonders and one of the most unique things I did during my trip. I would definitely recommend it!

This was our first time using Kimkim, and we found our travel planner, Coraima, to be delightful. She was very responsive and knowledgeable about the areas we wanted to visit.
However, we will not be using Kimkim again after being mislead about their markups ! In our first conversation, Coraima told us that they would pass through their costs from hotels, tours, transfer, and rental cars, and add a 9% fee. In the middle of our trip we were booked into very bad hotel rooms in San Sebastián and we asked Coraima for a detailed list of everything thing we were billed for and she quickly provided that list which showed each vendor and the 9% markup applied to the total. We then asked our hotel what Kimkim had paid for our rooms and found Kimkim had marked up the rooms by 100% in what they charged us !!!!
We have tried to get the prices paid by Kimkim for our other two hotels, and so far have not succeeded.

I would not recommend using Kimkim, but if you do, you should demand transparency for all their pricing.

This hotel has a nice location overlooking the bay at San Sebastián. Unfortunately we had the worst rooms in the hotel. They were on the first floor with no views and a patio that was tiny for 2 people. The patio was facing a 50 foot high rock wall about 5 feet from the patio door . It felt like we were at the bottom of an elevator shaft. The lobby and restaurant area were quite nice, and the front desk and restaurant staff were great !

They have a very nice top floor terrace bar with great views of Bilbao. The rooms are a bit dated and we only had a standard double bed instead of a queen.

This trip was our first thru KimKim. In the past we have done bus tours with lots of people. We liked the idea of planning our trip based on what we wanted to see. Marina did a fantastic job planning the details and provided us with a stress free and memorable experience. Our guides at each location were friendly and knowledgeable. There is a huge sense of pride in each of them educating us on the wonders and historical value that is Spain. The Flamenco shows were one of our highlights, but there were so many. Madrid has this great vibe. Toledo! The Toledo cathedral was one of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. Seville and the Alcázar Palace! Granada and the Alhambra! We ended our trip in Madrid @ the Prado Museum. Amazing collection of art. Thanks to all for such a memorable experience. Oh, the Calamari, and the Alhambra 1925 Lager. My new favorites!

Our guide in Madrid - Jose - was excellent. He really balanced telling the history of Madrid with his communicating his life experience as a local resident. He could tell when the jetlag was hitting us and it was time for a cappuccino!

Raquel is a very knowledgeable guide in Seville. She is very passionate about her city and Andalusia in general.

kimkim and Hector did a fantastic job organizing our trip to Barcelona and Madrid. My wife has some medical issues that made her extremely anxious about such a long (11 day) trip. So a big thanks to kimkim and their local partners for being so good about crafting schedules for trips, tours and meals that did not overwhelm our schedule. Your flexibility in trip planning, easily usable website, detailed instructions and, most importantly, your regular communications while were were on the trip were greatly appreciated. It all made my wife and able to relax and really enjoy such a beautiful country.

So many things to comment on
1. Ticketing for trains and site visits. These were all done clearly and correctly. It was great to have them all easily available on the kimkim app. And, when we decided to take an earlier train back from Toledo to Barcelona (temperatures neared 40 degrees C in the afternoon!), it was no problem because kimkim bought the tickets directly from the train system, not through a third party and Natalia worked it out with the station agent.

2. The hotels in Barcelona and Madrid were well chosen, given the price range and interests we identified on your app. Great locations and very welcoming staff. We spent the longest time at Hotel Meninas in Madrid, and would particularly recommend that anyone.

3. The Tapas & Tradition tours was so much fun. And delicious. We were part of a group seven, plus our guide Andres. Andres had chosen and prepared the 3+ restaurants well. So we enjoyed the tapas, drinks and learning about the traditions around this wonderful way of eating with friends. It helped a lot that everyone in the group was wonderful and fun to hang out with. What a great start to our first night in Madrid. Thank you Andres!

2. Walking tours of Madrid old town and Toledo. On separate days, two engaging and extremely knowledgeable guides really gave us a sense of the history, beauty and life in these two very different cities. Because it was a private tour (just me and my wife), Geza (Madrid) and Natalia (Toledo) made sure to build in plenty of stops along the tour so my wife could rest her legs and still enjoy the trip. I think both of them know the location of every bench along the tour route! That would not have been possible if we were in a larger tour group that we would have had to keep up with.

And it was funny to run into Geza leading a larger group two days later near our hotel! And a special thanks to Natalia for thinking to thoroughly explain El Greco's painting The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, initially using a picture on her phone, while my wife could remain seated at the back of the room and then later go up to look at it closely. Very thoughtful guide work.

Nice neighborhood to walk around in. Easy cab ride to El Sagrada Familia, Gothic Quarter, the beach and all the other sites. I like the pool and exercise room as well.

The hotel and street seemed very much a part of and older area of Madrid, which we liked very much. We felt very much in the middle of the city, but on a quiet street.

Easy walk to the Royal Palace, Plaza Major and the Opera. Interesting neighborhood to walk around. As it was on a small, narrow street, but super easy to get to the places we wanted to visit.

Staff

Oh, the staff here were so nice, helpful and welcoming. And no-one laughed at my poor attempts at Spanish (just kidding, they would never do that). We felt very much at home here.

Cleanliness & Comfort

Very well designed and maintained. The lobby was comfortable to hang out in. And the breakfast on floor -1 was delicious.

As we noted earlier, the H10 Art Gallery was a great choice. We loved the amenities, patio, art, lobby, but especially the helpful staff.

We arranged for a private care to the airport and that worked out seamlessly.

Pro: Noga found us the perfect place to watch the eclipse. It was not on her list of hotels so I know she did extra work to find this place. Our requests and questions were quickly responded to by Noga, Summer, & Chinh. At this point I would have rated this a 5 star travel company.
Con: We were on the last part of the trip which was in the city of Balboa. The hotel that was booked did not have AC. We had insisted that all our hotels have AC. This was important due to health issues. The hotel claimed their AC was working and insisted we wait until the room cooled down. We waited 2 hours and the temp on the thermometer didn’t budge. The AC May have been running but did not have the power to cool down the room at all! We were told there were no other rooms with any different AC by the hotel staff. We talked with Kimkim. We were offered a 50% off on the 2nd night, full price on 1st night. I.e. 25% off on the 2 nights. This was inadequate. We should get a full refund. I said if that hotel couldn’t accommodate us we needed a different hotel. We were informed that was our choice but if Kimkim found another place we would have to pay another Kimkim booking fee! The hotel itself claimed the AC was working therefore no refund. It was a he said, she said situation and Kimkim chose to take the side of the hotel. Essentially calling us liars. We went to another hotel out of pocket. The Kimkim 25% refund helped with that inadequately. Final rating 1 star.
Another note: Shop for travel insurance first before considering the Kimkim travel insurance.
