"I specialize in covering Spain and Portugal's highlights, sprinkling off-the-beaten-path experiences for those looking to enjoy each country's lesser-known gems; whether that's a romantic getaway, cultural and heritage exploration, or an adventure-filled vacation!"

How did you get involved in travel?

"My passion for travel started after taking my first international trip as an undergraduate student. This encouraged me to continue exploring new destinations, both with groups and as a solo traveler. Since then, I've traveled to various countries throughout Europe, Central America, North America, and a couple of destinations in Africa. Having lived in Spain during my travels with visits to Portugal, I hope to share my love for these countries and all they have to offer!"

"One of my favorite experiences was joining the Batalla del Vino, or Battle of the Wine, in Haro, a small town in Spain famous for it's red wines. Every year, thousands of locals and tourists come together, split into teams, and throw liters of red wine at each other on a hilltop followed by a festival at the town square. People carried bottles, cups, even buckets filled with wine! When given the opportunity, I recommend participating in local celebrations, especially those less common, to get a firsthand look at a country's culture. "

From Flamingo dancers to homemade lunches on a 500 year old working pig farm, we got to see not only the tourist sites but some Kimkim gems. Wine tours with Eduardo and a market day with Inaki gave us great insights into the Basque Country.
When there were questions, we were always able to reach out to someone who provided help.

Our trip to Portugal was terrific. We were a group of 11 friends and Coraima was able to put together an itinerary that worked for all of us! While Lisbon and Porto are must-see places, Sintra and the Pena Palace was an amazing place, as well. Two lesser-known places we visited were Monseraz and Obidos. These were great stops and I would have liked to have had more time to explore each of those. Relatively few tourists at both of those places!

Hotels were in very good locations for walks thru older parts of Lisbon, Porto ,Grenada and Barcelona. Hotel staff were very helpful on suggestions for restaurants. The tour of wineries in the Douro Valley was an amazing day thanks to our guide. We regularly relied on Rick Steves walking tours to navigate thru cities and sites of interest, supplementing your information on places to see. A detailed map can be very helpful. We also had a morning of birdwatching there with a guide, seeing kettles of Vultures over the mountain ridges. We also really enjoyed listening to Fado music performed at the hotel in Porto. We went to flamenco performances on two nights in Grenada. All in all we had a wonderful, very enjoyable trip. Thanks for working so well with Ruth and Adrian in setting this up.

Overall our trip was fantastic and we appreciate all of the work you and your team put in to it to make it so, Our lodging in all three cities were great and located perfectly for walking and getting to places we wanted to go. Some of the transportation didn't run as smoothly as planned but that happens and it all worked out in the end. The two guides in Madrid were fantastic and we enjoyed them immensely. Both were informative, easy to understand and kept us entertained. We especially enjoyed the "market" tour, which really became a pub crawl but Carlos? was so good and entertaining we all had a great time. The guide in Seville was a little dry, but still informative. Hard to compete with the two we had just had in Madrid. Our time in Barcelona was also grand. The football game was a highlight as it was fun to see the passion Spain has for their teams. Transportation back from there left a lot to be desired but we eventually made it so alls well. Our guide in Barcelona was also great and We would have no hesitation in recommending her.

Guides were all good, their areas of expertise was very thorough. Accommodations for each city were great, each hotel had its own charm.
Kim Kim’s service was attentive and pretty much immediate. The only hicup we had was timing on our pickups from the train depot. We were able to arrange our own ride in Seville.

In Granada, our private tour with Matias was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out many things about the Royal Alcazar that we may not have noticed. It wonderful to do the tour with a local who had lots of insight about the history of the monument and Granada in general. The room was comfortable, however, it was very noisy in the morning. Every room was open to a central foyer. When the staff would go to prepare breakfast at 5:30 or 6 AM it was very loud and woke us up. Then , when people came to eat breakfast … it was impossible to sleep past 630 or 7 am because it became very noisy. If you are an early riser, this is no problem. But after all you are in Spain and likely you’ll be staying up late. This is something you need to know when booking this hotel.

Didn’t get to do this because they were Palestine protesters that were blocking taxis from coming and going to the Albacin area. We finally got an Uber to take us up and to take a picture and come right back down because we missed the sunset.

The trip was very pleasant with guides. Perfect. The transportation was also very comfortable with very pleasant drivers. All the hotels were perfect and well located, except the one in the Algarve, which was too commercial. The bed was not as you indicated, and the condition of the carpet was poor. Upon arrival, our suitcases were dragged to the entrance, and I had to remind them about this. They are not at all. Recommended. Read more
