The visit to the Maya ruin was spectacular and the guide that we had, unfortunately I don't remember his name, was so knowledgeable. He really made that tour such a great experience.

Just one thing about that particular day .... At 8: 00 AM we were expecting to get picked up. When he did arrive at approximately 8:40 we realized there were several of the people on the tour and that's why he was delayed. It would have been nice to know there was going to be a wait time.

This was an amazing trip. There were 2 glitches in the schedule, the strike in Bolivia which caused us to miss Puma Punko but KimKim quickly made alternative suggestions and tours. Plus a change in Nazca line air tours from Paracus but KimKim quickly solved our hotel and tour options to make it happen. Overall we were very happy with the hotel selections and tours.

Noemie was our trip planner and main point of contact. She totally attentive during our online meetings and very responsive to our written communications in the KimKim app and emails. She made good suggestions for activities and when we decided to cancel our helicopter ride over a weekend she and her support team worked together to make it happen. She and her team checked in with us periodically during our trip to make sure all was well. This was a very nice touch and a great comfort.

We booked a one-week trip to Ecuador for 2 people through Kimkim, including Quito, a guided city tour, and 3 days in the Galápagos — and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish.

Our trip planner was Alvaro, and honestly, working with him was probably one of the best parts of the whole planning process. At the beginning, we only had a very rough idea of what we wanted to do. We were still unsure about the itinerary, duration, budget, and how to combine mainland Ecuador with the Galápagos. Based on that very vague starting point, Alvaro created an excellent first proposal with a concrete itinerary and transparent pricing, which immediately helped us visualize the trip.

What impressed us most was how easy and pleasant communication was. Every question and every requested change was answered incredibly quickly and always very professionally. For example, our first proposal was above our budget, and almost immediately Alvaro sent us an adapted version together with clear explanations of what had been changed and why. It never felt pushy — instead, it felt collaborative and genuinely personalized.

The payment process was also very straightforward and reassuring (30% deposit first, remaining balance later before the trip).

Another thing we really appreciated was that Alvaro kept checking in with us before the trip started, asking whether we still had questions and making sure we felt prepared. He also introduced us in advance to the local Ecuadorian partner responsible for the on-the-ground coordination (Sebastian from Responsible Travel South America).

This was honestly what made the whole experience feel so special: everything was incredibly easy and digital, but still deeply personal at the same time. Even though everything was organized online, we always felt like we had real people taking care of us.

I can 100% recommend Kimkim, and especially Alvaro, for anyone planning a trip to Ecuador.

A very special hotel, the decoration is very creative and present in all details of the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful (especially the ladies for breakfast!). The rooms are rather basic but clean. The pool is more a place to cool down rather than a place you can spend time to unwind. But it is very useful after a hot day exploring the islands! No laundry service but a few meters away you have a local laundry place very cheap and reliable with next day service (Iris Lavanderia). Breakfast is a bit basic but coffee is good.

Very well situated, with a lot of good restaurants or coffees around, and museums. Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast buffet with good coffee. Rooms on the main building are amazing, very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The room I had on my first night was in the extended building, still clean and comfortable but more basic in terms of decoration and cosiness.

We only stayed one night before taking our flight in Quito airport, but we wished we had stayed longer: the hotel is situated in a beautiful quiet piece on the mountain with an amazing view, the rooms are comfortable and beautiful. Everything is cosy, well decorated and the reception of the owner was very warm. He even has a wine cellar and you can have drinks on the terrasse outside or inside, to wind down of your day. He also has two adorable and friendly dogs. We highly recommend!

Charming Old Inn, great location with easy walks to trails, shops, bus stop. Wonderful breakfast with amazing croissants! It’s an old building beautifully renovated but narrow hallways and stairwells, no elevator. Must be able to carry own luggage to and from room. Lovely view of river from our room. Nice size showers with rain shower head. Our 3rd floor room was lovely but low hanging rafters caused a few head bumps. The Bourton on the Water miniature village next door was impressive and so fun to see.

Hotel was centrally located, but lacking in quality. Everywhere in this hotel there is visual clues that repairs are very much needed. Paint peeling off ceilings from water damage in common areas. In our hotel room, paint was coming off our bathroom ceiling from lack of ventilation and there were signs of mold around the bath tub. Comforter on the bed were poor in quality and were not very warm to sleep under in a roo. That only provided a space heater.

Wonderful old hotel and staff. This is an older hotel, so no lift. But, we had not trouble getting our luggage upstairs to our room. Wonderful staff and food! They are self-sustained, meaning they grow their own food and meat is local as well. Room was very nice and clean. There is no lift, but we were fine. Due to no fault of their own, they are situated where you have to rely on pay public parking. Which is almost 3 blocks away on uneven cobble stone, so wheels on your luggage barely helps and there is no lift. We did fine getting our luggage up a flight and a half of stairs, but for much older people this would not be good at all. So, this should be a consideration for future older clients. Other than this, the food was excellent and location was perfect.

Amazing hotel and staff! We got a flat in our rental car and even though I paid for full 24 hour service, they hung up on me twice and would not come out under the 24 hour agreement and they wanted to charge me after I paid for full coverage. Beth, the hotel manager got on the phone and just like that, they came and fixed our car and we were not charged. The food was wonderful and all the staff was amazing. Can’t say enough about this place. I will never forget Beth in particular.

The trip started with booking it through Gumi who was wonderful & easy to work with. I shared what we wanted to do & he provided all the details plus any thoughts on what else should be included or skipped for the specific time of year. The lagoons (hot springs!!), waterfalls, ice caves, iceberg. cold water snorkeling, coastal arches & food tour were all incredible. What a fabulous trip to be able to share with our daughter & son-in-law.

Our leisure time was spent touring museums in each destination (all a must visit) : Mohammed VI Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art - Rabat; Dar Batha Museum of Islamic Arts - Fes; and the Tangier American Legation Museum.

And our driver for 10 days, Youssef was the best - he knew about our destinations, was always available and made suggested changes to our itinerary along the way. Best of all, he treated us as his best friends and we shared family moments together. Overall, we had a great experience and plan to return to visit Southern Morocco.

- hotels choices were super important, especially having a lovely pool to retreat to after a day of exploring. The hotel in Saigon could have been upscaled a bit further (a bit cleaner!). The hotels in the Makong Delta... Read more

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Authentic, super clean and comfortable, deep tub, caring and welcoming staff. We felt safe as soon as we walked through the hotel doors. The breakfast buffet was abundant! The staff was outstanding - especially Rose. Each day when we returned from an outing they would welcome us back like we were family. They were accommodating and caring as to what we had planned for the day and if we needed anything. They cared about the logistics for our travel back to the airport and confirmed details on our behalf. They ensured we have proper sun coverage during our outings to the beach, even loaning me a hand painted hat.

Could have been cleaner. The hotel bathroom floor was dirty especially the space between the glass showe wall and hotel hallway. Really could have used a strong vacuum and carpet shampoo. The hotel pool was lovely though as well as the staff.

Working with kimkim was a very smooth experience from the beginning to the end. From planning with Io, to communication with Lisbeth during the trip and interacting with all the tour guides and drivers was a very good experience. We found Noga, Nick and Maria to be a wonderful team. They were very responsive, provided detailed answers to all of our questions, and made modifications based on our interests. When we had an unexpected physical challenge, they not only assisted in helping us cancel a couple of excursions, but checked in on us throughout the trip. We loved the accommodations chosen for us. The team in country adjusted things as we need it, The were very responsive. Vini, our guide, was one of the best guides we've ever had. He made us so comfortable and was so fun. Guatemala is a beautiful country with so much color and culture.

The only thing I would change is for travelers who can get the climb up Guatape relatively quickly, is to leave the area soon after so you can spend more time in the beautiful little town that follows it.
