Wow, trip of a lifetime! Many thanks to KimKim (and to Kathrin specifically) for helping us have the visit we'd long dreamed of in New Zealand. Both the South and North Islands were wonderful, though very different. We did white water rafting, kayaking, boating near glaciers and icebergs, heli-hiking, had a Maori experience that was absolutely fantastic, visited several national parks, saw coastlines from the water and fijords from a boat we spent the night on. Can't possibly list everything we got to experience, and it could never have worked out so well without the help we got from Kathrin. Just can't say enough how much I recommend KimKim for travel planning. We had so many wonderful things arranged for us that any stress we might have had going it on our own just evaporated. I had so many questions, and Kathrin was endlessly patient and helpful!

When we finally decided to take our dream trip to New Zealand we knew we deeded help to make it perfect, and chose KimKim after an online search for the best agency. It couldn't have worked out better and we recommend KimKim to everyone who wants to hear about our trip. Kathrin began helping us last August (our trip began this April) and by the time we were ready to go she had made sure every detail was taken care of. Quizzing us first about what sort of vacation we were looking for (Lord of the Rings sites? Outdoor activities? Museums and galleries?), how long we had available, our general budget, etc. she came up with a fabulous list of ideas for us. The more we learned about our options the more she fine-tuned our selections, then she arranged our New Zealand flights and car rentals and boat rides. It ended up being the perfect mix of our ideas and her suggestions, with all the stress taken out of the trip. Her selection of companies for the activities we wanted to do was spot on - loved all the people we had contact with. Heck we even ran into another couple who had used Kathrin and KimKim - that was fun! New Zealand is one of the few places we would really love to go to again, and I'm certain having their guidance in planning our trip was a big part of that.

Overall, we had an amazing trip! Everyone was very accommodating and friendly. The itinerary was easy to follow and detailed. We did run into some challenges with one of the driving companies in Mykonos, who left before we arrived from our ferry after it had been delayed. We reached an agreement with one of his colleagues but it did require a lot of pushing from our end. Our hotel in Santorini also had a power outage with no electricity or running water the night before our flight and we weren’t able to reach the hotel management and the alternative contact information they shared with us upon arrival, which was disappointing.

Our trip to Costa Rica was wonderful. We visited a historic theater in San Jose. The next day we were off to Arenal. The hotel was nice and had a lovely pool. We hiked down and back up 500 stairs to enjoy an amazing waterfall. We had a coffee and chocolate tour that was interesting and delicious. Our tour guide David was awesome. We drove to Monteverde and had a night time wildlife tour. We saw a poisonous snake, frogs, tarantulas and a scorpion. We went to a sloth sanctuary during the day. Then we drove to the beach near Jaco. We didn’t like the hotel but the beach was beautiful.

Coffee, Chocolate & Sugar Cane Farm Experience - Self Drive

Our guide David was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was amazing to see the cocoa fruit and taste it. The different stages of the chocolate making process was interesting. The plain chocolate was bitter but the chocolate as you add milk and sugar was delicious. The coffee segment of the tour was just as enjoyable. Watching the lady roast the beans was intriguing. David ground the beans and brewed the coffee . It was very tasty. The farm had many different plants including pineapple. Also we saw a “blue jeans” frog on the property. Everything was fabulous.

We had a great trip to Greece. All the places we stayed and people we encountered were very helpful. We had a very fun time.

Our first experience with Kimkim (a trip to Greece and southern Italy) was very positive. We are accustomed to planning our own trips but found the advantages of working with Kimkim worthwhile: our agents offered experience and advice that can otherwise be difficult to come by; the agency provided services that smoothed the way where we would have struggled (for example, getting from airports to hotels); suggestions were provided for activities we otherwise wouldn’t have known about, such as stopping on our drive from Athens to Nafplio for a wine tour and lunch. We would not normally have opted for private tours but found them excellent and well worth engaging. A few itinerary details in Italy were erroneous but we worked them out, and one tour was disappointing, but both our agents were very responsive when contacted. Our primary agent, Chris, listened carefully and planned thoughtfully, as well as checking in with us during our trip. Thanks for your valuable help!

Mothia - Masala with salt pans visit

We visited historical sites in Marsala followed by Mothia, remains of a fascinating Phoenician settlement. Our guide managed to fit in a good deal! Afterwards we toured the salt pans and saw how sea salt was harvested, saw the old wind-powered grinding stone, and had a salt tasting. A great day.

This is our second trip that KimKim has planned for us and both were perfect! We will be using them again!!
Ivan listened to what we had in mind for our trip and was very accommodating if and when we would make any changes. Ivan made it easy to communicate with him as well as with our guides so we felt at ease. Our accommodations were just what we asked for plus! And all of our tours and guides were kind, knowledgeable about their country, and willing to go beyond just taking us from point A to point B. I can’t remember all of their names but Ivo who took us to Ston, Tonko who took us on the all day boat trip to the Blue caves, and Marco who took us on our hike (and brought walking sticks and water just in case :) ) in the hillside were all great! And so was our guide who drove us to Krka National Park and to a wonderful lunch-I don’t remember his name.
My only suggestion for your future guests would be to mention that there are a lot of steps in Croatia!!! We loved every minute of it and were happy we were in good shape so we could see it all. It was all very doable.
I’m sure we will be recommending KimKim and Ivan to many people going forward. Thank you!!

Valentine was absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. From our very first Zoom call, she took the time to really understand our family dynamic what we enjoy, what we don’t, and how we like to travel. That level of care made a huge difference. She created a thoughtful and well-balanced itinerary that perfectly blended history, culture, and outdoor experiences across Munich and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The initial plan was already great, and she was very flexible in helping us tweak a few things to better fit our needs. In the end, everything came together seamlessly.

Some highlights from our trip:
1. The Dachau Concentration Camp memorial visit was deeply moving and very well organized.
2. The Munich e-bike tour was a lot of fun and a great way to see the city especially it happened on Sunday which was a lot easier to navigate through than the other days.
3. Our private driver and guide Tom, who took us to Neuschwanstein Castle, was exceptional, he was not only knowledgeable but also very fun to be around, which made the entire day even more enjoyable.
4. Garmisch-Partenkirchen was stunning, and Hotel Zugspitze was excellent—especially the breakfast. The Zugspitze and the Partnach Gorge were unforgettable experiences
5. Our Nuremberg tour with Kevin was truly the most memorable—he made the day special for all of us

Every activity felt thoughtfully chosen for our family, and everything ran smoothly throughout the trip. We all had such a great time, and we are incredibly grateful to Valentine for selecting all the right experiences for us.

Day trip to Nuremberg by train

Our day trip to Nuremberg by train was wonderful. It’s a beautiful town with so much character, and I personally loved it. The mix of history and charm made it a very memorable stop on our trip. Visiting Zugspitze was an incredible experience. It was absolutely beautiful to be on top of the clouds—something we won’t forget. The panoramic views from the summit are truly stunning and well worth the trip. We also stopped by Eibsee afterwards. Getting there was also very convenient. We took the bus from the station near our hotel, which made the journey simple and easy. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience, and a must-do when visiting the area.

Our private tour from Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was smooth, well organized, and perfectly timed. Tom, our driver and guide, was exceptional—he was not only very knowledgeable but also incredibly fun to be around, which made the entire day even more enjoyable. He picked us up right on time and even messaged us on WhatsApp to let us know he was on his way, which we really appreciated. We arrived at the castle early, before it got too crowded, which made a big difference. Tom had all the tickets ready and guided us efficiently, even showing us a few shortcuts along the way. It made the whole experience feel easy and stress free. In addition to Neuschwanstein, Tom also took us to Linderhof and Ettal, which were beautiful and well worth the visit. He was also great at taking photos for us, making sure we captured some wonderful memories throughout the day. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and Tom truly made it special for us.

Best of Munich E-Bike Tour

The e-bike tour was a fantastic way to explore Munich and ended up being one of the most fun activities of our trip. Interestingly, we were included with a regular bicycle group instead of all e-bikes, but it wasn’t an issue at all. The group dynamic worked well, and everyone kept a comfortable pace, so we still really enjoyed the experience. Simon, our tour guide, was great—he kept the ride fun, engaging, and informative throughout. He did an excellent job balancing history with lighthearted moments, which made the tour enjoyable for everyone. The highlights for us were definitely the stop at the beer garden and seeing the river surfers, which added a unique and memorable touch to the experience. Overall, it was a fun, relaxed, and memorable way to see the city, and I would highly recommend it.

Our visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial was a deeply moving and meaningful experience. It’s truly a place that leaves a lasting impression. The tour guide was excellent—very knowledgeable, communicated clearly, and did a great job helping us navigate through the camp while sharing important historical context with sensitivity and respect. Having a good guide made a big difference in understanding the significance of the site. The only downside for me personally was the group size. With around 25 people, it felt a bit large at times, and I would have preferred a smaller group for a more personal experience. Overall, it was a powerful and well-organized tour, and I’m very glad we included it in our trip.

We had a wonderful trip to Italy! We especially enjoyed our private food and wine tour in Florence. That was a definite highlight. Our tours of the Vatican and the Colosseum were also excellent. Our guide at the Vatican, Massimo, was extremely knowledgable and funny and made the experience that much more fun. The boat trip to the Isle of Capri was also a highlight. We were able to tour the island from the sea before docking to explore the island on land. Our crew was very informative, attentive and fun-loving.

While this hotel was in a good location, right in the city center, it was also very loud. Our room was beautiful with three balconies overlooking the street, however they were most unusable because passers-by could look right into the room. It was also a little difficult to find the hotel. The taxi cannot take you right to the door because its on a pedestrian street and there is only a small sign to the left of the main door indicating that it is a hotel.

I've taken 5 kimkim trips -- All the specialists are good, Robert is the best so far.

What makes him stand out is his flexibility (mid trip he is super willing to add activities) and his communication (he texts you a few times a day while you are on the trip, reminding you of what is coming up but also asking how it's going and suggesting places to eat, etc.)

He also organized a really fun trip for my family that had 'enough' activities but didn't overwhelm us (we had enough time to just explore and enjoy) -- Highly recommended!

Our trip throughout Madrid, Porto and Northern Spain was better than we could have imagined.

Every hotel was amazing. The meals and restaurantrecommendations were spot on. Add in the unique private experiences (fun sidecar) and small tours, and all of that adds up to a very special trip.

Janelle and her Team went above and beyond in a multitude of ways. Here is just one example:
Day one I left/lost my glasses 🤓 n my inbound flight. They immediately reached out to the airline, our driver and the airport to initiate a search. They followed up a number of times-alas they were truly lost. BUT they also located an optometrist that could have glasses made, onsite, within an hour. Plus they made the appointment and sent me directions.

We would not have seen or done so many things. We were prepared for every day and knew what awaited us even if we ventured just outside of our hotel!we rented a car and flew to a destination and also had a few private drivers! When WE drove we received ideas where to stop along the way. It really was about the journey AND the destination!

Their app was so cool! No maps or books or notepads. Everything was right in our phones. And more.

I did not know what to see or where to stop and stay at all. Initially Janell asked lots of questions and learned about us first. Then we talked about general destinations and such. She created an itinerary we could see and understand. The hotel website and photos were there. We made a couple of adjustments and damn-she created a plan and trip

Every question we had was answered quickly and I have now learned a truth: using a travel Agent like Janelle made planning for the trip almost as easy and enjoyable as the trip itself.

During the trip, we were fortunate to see an amazing variety of wildlife, including leopards, lions, African wild dogs, elephants, and many more incredible animals. Every safari drive brought new surprises and unforgettable memories. Cape Town was absolutely beautiful, and Victoria Falls was simply breathtaking.
We especially appreciate Bianca’s quick response and flexibility when the Blue Train was unexpectedly cancelled. She managed to arrange our stay at Misava Safari Camp in the Klaserie Private Reserve on very short notice, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

Our stay at Camp Xakanaxa was absolutely incredible and one of the most memorable parts of our Botswana safari adventure. Located deep inside the Moremi Game Reserve, the camp offered an authentic wilderness experience while still being very comfortable and beautifully maintained. The atmosphere at the camp was peaceful and immersive, surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife everywhere. We loved hearing the sounds of nature at night and waking up each morning feeling completely connected to the African bush. Our stay at Camp Okavango was an unforgettable experience and truly one of the highlights of our Botswana safari adventure. From the moment we arrived by boat in the heart of the Okavango Delta, we felt completely immersed in the beauty and tranquility of the wilderness. The camp itself was beautifully designed, blending perfectly into the natural surroundings while still offering comfort and luxury. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and it was incredible to wake up each morning surrounded by nature, with birdsong and wildlife all around us. What made the experience especially memorable were the amazing guides and staff. Everyone was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the Delta. The game drives, mokoro excursions, and boat safaris were all fantastic, giving us the opportunity to see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelope, and so many beautiful birds up close. One of the things we loved most was the peaceful atmosphere of the Okavango Delta itself. Watching the sunset over the waterways while listening to the sounds of the bush was simply magical. Our stay at Victoria Falls River Lodge was absolutely wonderful and truly unforgettable. The location along the Zambezi River was stunning, with breathtaking views and wildlife all around us. My guide was really Anthony. He planned a wonderful trip for me. I asked him a million questions, and he not only answered them, he even asked if I had any more questions. He was amazing. I never communicated with Maria Belen. Stalin was my guide in Ecuador, and he was great. There was one snag that you should address. No guide showed up to meet me at 6:15 in San Cristobal to take me to the pier. I needed help with my suitcases because of the steps in the hotel and down to the pier. I had no idea which pier to go to, but someone helped me. I also did not know which ferry was mine. I saw a woman sitting at the front of the correct pier. She looked official with a list of names. I checked with her and my name was there. She directed me where to go next. I don't know if who was supposed to be there, Lenin or a young man. I suggest that in the future you provide more details about the ferry rides and the company that is doing them.
