Phuket Island Hopping by Luxury Long-tail (Private)

The description of the tour sounds nicer than it is. No inflatable mattress or others, boats are very old and not very clean, they had to look for life jackets as most of them were broken. After we wanted to leave the first island earlier (beach was full of waste) we had to wait 30 minutes as our boat was gone (maybe for other passengers?) Pictures of this trip look amazing but in reality it’s different.

We had a great experience working with Bella through KimKim for our trip to Thailand. This was our first time using a service like this, and honestly, it exceeded our expectations.

Bella was extremely responsive from the start and did a great job collaborating with us to build an itinerary that actually fit our family—not some cookie-cutter plan. She was flexible, attentive, and made adjustments along the way so everything felt dialed in.

One of the biggest highlights for us was having local guides. That completely changed the experience. Instead of feeling like tourists trying to figure things out, we always felt taken care of and confident in where we were going and what we were doing. It took a lot of the stress out of traveling and allowed us to actually be present and enjoy the experience.

I was a little hesitant to use Kimkim because I hadn't heard of it and couldn't quite tell even what it was. First, I want to assure anyone reading this that it is a totally legit site/service! I think people from different agencies can sign up on the platform, and they receive the benefit of Kimkim marketing and receive inquiries from the Kimkim site. Meaning, our agent was not "from" Kimkim but rather used their platform. This is not a bad thing! We got a local agent but with a really good communication platform and app.

For the actual trip planning, we first thought we would use Kimkim for our entire trip, but I ended up wanting more direct say over our flights and hotels. So I planned those myself. But even after I did that, Bella asked if she could still help to plan our trip. She was mostly responsive (delays over the weekend and of course due to time zone), and we had our final plans a number of days in advance (maybe a bit late for anxious planners, but I am not so that was fine for us).

As for the actual activities:

Pickups/dropoffs: They were hit or miss. It was a little tough finding people at the airports, and there was some waiting involved. (Find them, wait around, be walked to a door, wait for the van.) In my other trips, a person met us coming out of security and walked us straight to the vehicle. BKK is a much larger airport, but there were even some delays in Phuket (where the transportation service went to the international terminal instead of the domestic terminal, even though we had arrived from Bangkok). The vehicles were also hit or miss -- some nice and new, other older ones and one even with some cobwebs around the curtains. I liked that we generally had the same drivers each day so we could spot them and vice versa. I'd give a 3/5 for transportation.

Longtail Boat Canal Tour: This was fun, a nice way to see different parts of the city. We stopped at a cute market and got to see some sights from the water. Our boat was fine, and we enjoyed that we had a private boat so we could come and go as we liked. 5/5

Midnight Tuk-Tuk Food Tour (Bangkok): We loved this! Ice the guide was amazing - funny and informative. We covered a lot of ground, ate some delicious food, and got to see Bangkok in a different way than we had before. Highly recommend! 5/5

Half-Day Temple Tour: It was very hot this day, and we with our kids wanted to kind of speed it along. Our tour guide did not read the room very well. We kept asking him to go faster or leave certain sites earlier, but he kept on talking. SO much. Even in the van. This made the tour a little frustrating, as we wanted a more abbreviated version given the heat and our personal travel preferences. But we did see some nice sites, so we were glad for that. 3/5

Island hopper boat tour: We have done similar trips where we have a private boat and visit different locations in a number of different countries. We visited the Khai islands because we didn't want to travel too far from Phuket. I'm honestly not sure I would recommend this for travelers. We only got out of the boat at one of the islands. It was pretty but very commercial. The crew led us to their favorite vendors, and we did end up having a nice relaxing time. But I wouldn't call these islands "must see." The snorkeling is terrible, not even worth trying because there is nothing to see at all. I might have seen 1-2 fish. Also, in our prior trips, the boat itself was part of the fun. You could tan on a ledge, hang out on a swimming mat or tubes attached to the boat, dive, from its side. This boat was for "transportation", not fun. Its only purpose was to drive us around, very industrial and no amenities at all on or with the boat. (Life jackets and snorkels/masks.) We were disappointed. We did love the lunch on a floating dock, and the crew was quite good. Funny and engaging. But there was no food and no place to even lay outside on the boat. 3/5.

General: It was easy to work with Kimkim. I did really like their app and the convenience of having everything in one place. Bella communicated well with us and reminded us for things like travel documents. We had local contacts everyplace we went, so we felt well connect and knew whom to contact if we needed anything. I would probably use them again, but I would be more specific about what we wanted, to ensure that the services met our expectations in real life.

Took my trip to Thailand back in February 2026. Kimkim takes and holds your hand every step of the way. The guides, the personalized excursion, and the quality of service was simply flawless. The team at Kimkim, Bella and Tina, were there for whenever I needed them. You're in great hands with them. The guides felt genuinely happy to be there, and often went the extra mile to make our trip as smooth as possible. Thank you, Mr. Betty, for a spectacular tour of Bangkok!

I booked my trip to Thailand literally 10 days before departure and it couldn't have happened without the support and guidance from Phuong. All questions were answered promptly and everything was taken great care of, from drafting initial itinerary, finalizing itinerary, providing tips and details of the trip to checking in with me everytime I was in a new city. From the moment I landed there wasn't a moment I felt out of place or didn't know what to expect for each day of my trip. Day 2 of the trip was my birthday and I lost count of the cakes I got from the hotels and local guide.

Shout out to Pong, my local guide in Northern Thailand who did her job with great care and attention to detail. She felt like a local friend than someone who only wants to tick the boxes to get the job done. Thanks to her I had a relaxed time in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai which was what I needed.

Thank you again Phuong and Pong for putting together a trip so well and making it a memorable one. Less than a week back and I am already missing Thailand!

We are so happy we used Kimkim! Not only did it make our travel seamless, we received quick responses if any issues or questions did arise. Starting with getting picked up at the airport - our guide assisted us with checking into our first resort and gave us wonderful tips and directions. We traveled to multiple island while there and all transfers (including tuk tuks, longtail boats, ferries and vans) went without a hitch. 3 of the resorts we stayed at were amazing. Burasari in Phuket and Rawi Warin in Ko Lanta were great! Even saw wild monkeys in Ko Lanta! Our last resort was Koh Jum Beach Villas and we cannot say enough about how fantastic this place is! We had a couple of great island tours. The food tour in Old Town Phuket was beyond fantastic. The guide was amazing and we got to see so much! KimKim and especially Kien really took the stress out of our vacation. We will definitely will use them again!

Koh Jum Beach Villas

If I could give this more stars, I would. This place made me feel like I was on White Lotus. We were greeted the moment we stepped off the transport and given a full rundown of the resort and our room. The grounds are AMAZING. The beach was almost deserted and water was clear as could be. Easy to walk out pretty far and so many shells on the beach to look at. The sounds of the cicadas and birds were hypnotizing! We often had the pool to ourselves as well. The food is fabulous and the staff was attentive. This is off the beaten track, but we felt so tranquil here that we didn't get bored. The villas were magical - views of the ocean and the gorgeous flora. Did I mention the wine cellar? They will give you a tour - very well stocked. We would return here in a heartbeat! Great way to end our lovely Thailand trip.

Just wow! The villas fully opened up during the day (staff will open up in the morning and shut things down in the evening) and shuts up for mosquito time. The views from anywhere are amazing. Whether it's a beach view or of the grounds, it is all beautiful!

So serene. It's in the sticks, but a beautiful sandy beach that feels like it belongs only to you. The grounds are amazing! Can't say enough about the beauty here.

Took care of every need we had and were super friendly. Cleaning staff were like little faeries. Every time we came back from the pool or breakfast, our room was ready. The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and waited on us hand and foot. We even saw them comforting and playing with a baby while the rest of the family dined. From check in to check out - they were on it!

This was a beautiful resort. Rooms were great. Comfy beds, clean and great mini bar selections. This resort is very hilly, lots of stairs. This wasn't a big issue and you can call at any time for a tuk tuk to give you a ride. Food was excellent. Best part was seeing wild monkeys right outside our room. The grounds are beautiful and on the beach.

This place could use a bit of updating to be amazing. It was a bit worn down and the food was ok. It is a bit off the beaten path so not a lot to do. No poolside service, which would have helped a lot. The resort didn't work well with Kimkim on honoring our excursions (Kimkim promptly refunded us!) and weren't the most attentive. The restaurant staff was great, but the food was not fabulous, nor was it bad. Beds were hard as rocks and the pillows left much to be desired. Pretty scenery however.

We really enjoyed this resort. Super easy to walk to the beach and to other fun spots in Phuket. The staff was excellent and the food was amazing! The resort and pools are beautiful and feel like a little oasis in the middle of the city. There are two 2 for 1 happy hours - we didn't miss out on those! We enjoyed the hotel spa - went twice. Great place to stay and highly recommend!

Benjamin created an affordable and amazing itinerary for Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. We really enjoyed the diverse food, shopping cultural sites, and nightlife in Bangkok. Kodalay Seafood Buffet was our culinary highlight, great seafood by the river.

Transportation from airports to various destinations were seamless. Elephant Sanctuary tour in Phuket was an amazing experience feeding and walking amongst the elephants in their natural habitat. Also spent time on the beautiful beaches in Phuket and island hopping to Maya Bay.

Benjamin was always available to help in booking extra room or when I lost my wallet and key card. I would highly recommend him for any trip to Thailand.

Seeing how people live along the River was wonderful. But the condition of the river was very sad. Water hyacinths clog the entire river suffocating fish life and making it nearly impossible for boat engines to, get through. Ho Chi Minh City is a beautiful city with nice restaurants and we enjoyed the hotel we stayed at. The value was good, but it was sad to see how people are forced to live along the River.

We had an incredible vacation in Thailand. We went to Bangkok and Krabi. In Bangkok we had a guide, Annie, who did an amazing job of navigating the streets of Bangkok and taking the best pictures, ordering the best food and taking care to show us the temples, markets and culinary treats of the region.
In Krabi, we enjoyed the Following Giants Elephant Sanctuary, the guides were very knowledgeable and respectful about the care and treatment of the elephants.
Kayaking on the Khlong Nam was fantastic and we got an early start and had the place to ourselves before it got busy and we learned about pineapple farming as well as rubber and palm.
Phi Phi islands was also impressive, beautiful beaches and tasy lunch, guides were great.

Kayaking at Khlong Nam Sai and Pinapple Farm

We went early, pick up around 7am and they gave us a delicious breakfast and we got on the water before anyone else was there. The water is so clear you can see the fish swimming. We had a guide and another person who took pictures for us and we were able to swim. Afterwards we saw the pineapple farm and also learned about rubber harvesting and palm oil.

We had a great time, exhilerating tuk tuk ride and great sites plus lots of great food. It started with rooftop beers at sunset and then Annie took us to the best street food stalls and china town, there was lots of great food, including coconut ice cream and she gave us mango sticky rice to go, we were surprised everything was included.

Kimkim and especially our travel agent Kien, made our trip to Thailand absolutely unforgettable. From start to finish, everything was flawlessly planned—our excursions, transfers, resorts, and especially our wedding were beyond anything we could have imagined.

What truly stood out was how closely he listened to every detail of what we wanted. We shared that we were looking for adventure and not a typical tourist experience—we wanted to truly experience the beauty and culture of Thailand—and he absolutely nailed it. Every part of our itinerary felt authentic and intentional, and we loved being able to explore so many different areas, each with its own unique charm.

Every detail was handled with care, which allowed us to completely relax and enjoy every moment. Our wedding was simply magical, and we are so grateful for the thought and effort that went into making it so special. Thank you so much for truly making our wedding and honeymoon perfect.

i've traveled before with kimkim to Bali and had an amazing experience. Every hotel was beautiful and unique. Every tour guide was fabulous and our overall experience and itinerary were amazing. On this trip, it was mostly positive. but there were a few issues and disappointments. Our hotel in Hanoi was really nothing special, but our Ha Long Bay trip was extraordinary.
Unfortunately, the next day we were supposed to leave for the airport flying out at 2 PM. We were done at 11:30 and if they had sent a driver to take us directly to the airport, we would have made our flight and been there mid afternoon. However, Kien arranged it so that we would return toward Hanoi with the other passengers and then meet another driver to take us to the airport. I was concerned about making the flight when we were waiting for more than half an hour for our first driver to leave then when we got to a stop along the way I found out our driver had no idea about meeting this other driver and he laughed when I told him that our flight was at too. He said there's no way you're going to make it. Kien had promised us it would be no problem. He ended up booking us on a later flight and we had several hours wait in the airport. And instead of reaching. Hoi A mid afternoon and exploring the town. We ended up getting there after 8 PM when it was dark and we had no idea where to go. I told.Kien my frustrations, thinking he was with kimkim and not exotic voyages, the local tour company, and he proceeded to get defensive. He blamed it on our budget and that it would cost more to put a driver in a hotel and pick us up directly as opposed to doing it the way he arranged it. I told him that made little sense and was poor planning because he could've hired a local driver to how long Bay and they could've taken us directly. But instead, we ended up traveling for over eight hours that day, and it could have been avoided. He then made more excuses in broken English before apologizing in Ai perfect English. It felt insincere and like he didn't take accountability for the huge inconvenience he'd created for us. We loved our Cambodian tour guides as well out Namgkok guide but even she had to admit our hotel was in b a random area that was not attractive and far from b everything. The hotel itself was move. Our Phuket hotel was beautiful but far from everything. It would have been nice to know that so we could have decided if that worked for us. Overall, we had a great trip but there were some bumpy patches and it didn't compare to our previous experience with Kimkim.

We enjoyed the tour v and the wishes on the river but didn't like our pushy guide. He made people mad and caused our rickshaw drivers to refuse us. He also took us to a crafts place beforehand where there was high pressure sales on embroidery item. Felt like a cheap tour at that point where the guides profit by visiting certain shops. He also used a friend of his on the boat tour and he took us v away from all the other boats releasing wishes, which would have been magical. We topped the driver and then I saw our guide take his payment to the man back.

As a solo traveler, I was a bit nervous about traveling to Thailand with all the transfers, not to mention that I had very little idea of what to do or see. Bella was outstanding. She was understanding, knowledgeable and extremely responsive at all times. On the ground, she checked in almost daily, sending reminders and confirming details. She put together an amazing itinerary including the Grand Palace in Bangkok, the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai and the John Gray Sea Canoes in Phuket. This was a an experience of a lifetime and I cannot recommend Bella and Kimkim more highly.

One more thing—The pricing was very reasonable and, when I overpaid, Bella found the error and refunded the difference. I would have never known.

The hotel is very tired. Apparently, there are renovated rooms, but I didn’t have one. The breakfast buffet was good enough. The restaurant was very basic, though I did have a good green curry there. The Kamala area, where the hotel is located, is about an hour from the Old Town and it was difficult to get a Grab to pick me up. A taxi would have cost about 700 baht each way. In truth, the hotel was fine, so let’s no as you don’t expect 4.5/5 stars as it is currently rated.

A highlight of my visit to Thailand. The Save the Elephants reserve is the largest elephant rescue in Asia. It is an ethical reserve (be sure to check if you go elsewhere). It was amazing to be so close to these magnificent creatures, though you cannot touch them.

Beaches are stunning well worth the trip north. It’s a family hotel so there will be kids running around, but it’s a large area not really in walking distance of anything but a great escape.

This is a quiet place in Phuket. The beach sand is good, but it’s rocky when you go out into the ocean. It’s a great area for a family and to get away from the party scene.
