Ron was a very helpful guide, helped us on our first day in Bangkok. The experiences we booked were well organized from the pick ups to the drop offs. Amazing. Didn't have to worry a least bit.

The entire trip was amazing. We have absolutely no complaints from arrival to departure, The accommodations, the transfers. the excursions and the excellent guides. The guided Ae and Bammie were friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Elena who planned the itinerary was excellent, she managed every detail and was very attentive to all the requests. Like I did before in my previous Kimkim experience, I'd like to split this review into 2: the kimkim team and the destination:
The kimkim team: Once again, the team was absolutely amazing, super responsive, flexible, accommodating, even while already within our trip, we asked for itinerary changes, additions and the kimkim team was absolutely great at accommodating, fast and with a smile, we felt in great hands throughout the entire journey, before and while on the trip, THANK YOU kimkim Team!!

The destination: Thailand is one of those places you fall in love with easy, you get the feeling while on the trip that you want to move there, the people are nice and welcoming, you always feel safe and views and attractions are just mesmerizing, you really don't want to go back home... unless you already live there :)
We will definitely come back to Thailand, we have some takeaways in terms if things we want to do differently, like renting a car or bikes while on the islands, that is more cost effective than taxis, choosing specific hotels and room types, locations on the islands etc... but other than that, perfect vacation!

Our family trip to Thailand was amazing. Bella our travel agent was very responsive to calls/emails/text and her recommendation fit our family. We had a couple tour guide and they were all good, But we had Anita( A) in Banghok and she was wonderful, she was knowledgeable, informative. She had my family try a lot of good food and we enjoyed our times with her.

Activity Review

A visit to Mae Klong Railway market and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market!

My favorite activity of the trip was definitely the visit to the Mae Klong Railway market. It was such a unique experience watching the train come through the market. Everything was incredibly exciting and memorable. My family had a wonderful time and it truly was a trip of a lifetime for everyone.

Me and my family had an amazing time. My favorite person during our trip was Mrs. Anita. She did an amazing job showing us around. It was like she was visiting Thailand as well but knew about Thailand already. Our stay was amazing. Overall it was the best experience ever.

My family took an 11-day trip to Thailand. The planning and execution were excellent. The communication from Bastien and Elizabeth was superb - very attentive, clear and reliable. They did a nice job tailoring the trip to our preferences, and, for the most part, the excursions and activities were high quality.

Guides: Siem Reap- Our guide and driver were perfect. Thank goodness our guide knew all of the best spots to see. His itinerary was much better than the one provided by KimKim. Bangkok- Guide and driver were perfect. Tammy knew all of the best spots, the best itinerary- again, much better than listed on Kimkim itinerary. Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai- Driver great. Our guide was nice but her English was terrible. She only spoke when we asked questions, and most of the time she could not understand us. She veered off of our KimKim plan as she did not want to go to Myanmar. Phuket- Guide and driver fine. She was nice but was never really our guide. All she did was ride in the car while we were driven to hotel, airport and Phi Phi island boat excursions.
Hotels: Siem Reap- Perfect!!! Bangkok- Perfect. Chiang Rai- A bit old and dated, but perhaps the nicest one in that area. Chiang Mai- Loved this hotel! Phuket- Dreadful. I put 100% faith in what you chose and planned. First the hotel was huge- we wanted small. It was a family one and we only wanted adults. It was on the west coast where swimming was too dangerous. How was I to know that? Also, yes, I did say I wanted Phuket, but I wish Kelly had suggested other options, like Koi Samui. I had no idea Phuket was going to be so crowed, I hated the hotel, and was really disappointed that we couldn't even go into the water.
Activities: Siem Reap- Awesome. Loved all the Ankors, and again, so grateful our guide knew the places to take us that were not on our KimKim itinerary. The street tour was fine, but we were so tired. I liked the village tour, but seeing that we are supposed to be very careful about food, I didn't eat anything, but my daughter did, and she got really sick. The timing was off for the lake tour- to the airport, we arrived way too early. Bangkok- Again, thank goodness for our guide. She was always ready with a snack, water, a wipe. She took us on the best adventures. But again, she got us to the airport 4 hours before our flight. Bad planning on KimKim. Chiang Rai-Unfortunate that our guide wouldn't take us to Myanmar even though on our itinerary. The gardens were pretty. We loved the boat ride. The opium museum was super dated and could give the information in a better way. The Karen village was the worst. It felt like we were looking at animals in a zoo. Chiang Mai- The elephants were the best! Phi Phi islands were cool- although SO many people. KimKim has to get better at just leaving the facts on the itinerary- 1. What time pick up. 2. What to wear. 3. What to bring. 4 How long drive times and activities. 5. What time home .

We are warned again and again about fruit, veggies and water. Yet we were taken to a remote village to be fed their food. My daughter got very sick.

Jook was so helpful all along the way. Everyone was! I would not do a trip any other way moving forward. I was reminded of my pickup times and activities and someone was available for me 24/7. I would recommend kimkim to everyone!

Jaeb planned a great, stress-free introduction to Thailand for us! She worked with us to customize the itinerary to see some less popular locations, avoid the rain this time of the year, and still fit in our desired activities. It all worked out to be a great, worry free experience. The transfers were always waiting for us ahead of schedule and the team sent reminders the night before to make sure we were all on the same page for the next days activities. We appreciated how all of the hotels were interesting and so different from each other! Jaeb and her team did a great job making our trip memorable for all of the right reasons.

The guides and people we interacted with where awesome. We stayed at 5 different locations with many different transportations. It worked out great and we didn’t have to figure out anything, just what we wanted to do.

Our local specialist Hoa was excellent in helping plan our Thailand vacation! We appreciated her communication before, during, and after the trip. She would reach out daily to check on our group and address any issues that arose (there were none).

Our tour guides Nana (Bangkok), Bam (Chiang Mai), and Billy (Krabi) took great care of everyone in the group, from the kids to the seniors. Also our guides during the excursions, Boy at Elephant Eco Valley and Mr. A at SeaKayak Krabi, were wonderful as well.

The process of getting a trip plan organised and the communication with Tina/Kim Kim throughout the process was great. It is possible that there was some misunderstanding about exactly what we were after but this was probably not Tinas fault. We were disappointed with Bangkok and found our tour to be too long, too detailed and the family lost interest. We cancelled our day 2 tour for this reason. Our excursions in Chang Mai were generally great, except for mountain trip which was completely fogged out and we could see nothing. The elephant sanctuary and the cooking class were fabulous. The company we did our diving in Koh Tao was also a great. Some of the other tours were not as good. When you say small group tours I expected maybe 10 people, not 30 something as was the case with the Ang Thong Marine Park trip. The boat was packed, no room to move and you could not see out of it. The whole day was like herding sheep from one overcrowded destination to another with too much time at each. I would have much preferred a private trip and would have been happy to pay for it.

My only small criticism is that the resort is a 15 minute ($20 aud) grab ride from Chaweng. As such I think the resort should offer a regular free shuttle service in and out.

Angtong National Marine Park

This was sold to us as a small group tour. I do not consider 30 plus people a small group. the trip to the first island takes nearly 2 hours. You are squashed in a speedboat with your knees touching the seat in front of you. You cannot see out of the boat unless you stand up. The destinations are pretty but are overcrowded with 100's of people on similar excursions. You spend too much time at each place and it is like herding sheep.

A Day trip to Doi Inthanon National Park!

There is no point in going on this day trip if the weather isn't perfect. We were ill equipped. It was wet and cold. We could see nothing as there was a fog completely blacking out the views and the pagodas. We felt it was a waste of a day.

As our plane was late, we only went to the food street. We felt rushed through the street and not really able to stop and look at things. At the end we found out we weren't going to go back up the street. We ended up having dinner in a nearby restaurant. We did not need a guide to do this.

We were welcomed to and shown all around northern Thailand by our amazing guide Nuii and our driver Mr. Kai. Their preparedness, professionalism, and thoughtfulness made the trip exceptional! The van was clean, stocked with water and fresh fruit as snacks, and we expertly navigated the winding mountains between Chiang Rai, Pai, and Chiang Mai. The most memorable stops were the Kho Ku So bamboo bridge in Pai and the Chai Lai Orchid elephant sanctuary (with wonderful guide Tatu) in Chiang Mai! (The transportation to and from the elephant sanctuary from the Aksara Heritage hotel got messed up, which was the only stressful error / issue of the trip. Kien from Kim Kim, Nuii, and the lovely staff at the Aksara all tried to help us sort out the problem.)
We would highly recommend Nuii and Mr. Kai for your trip! They went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, cared for, and they were flexible to pivot the itinerary around our energy levels and changes in the weather. This was a truly an unforgettable trip made more special by the lovely and warm accompaniment of Nuii and Mr. Kai!

We had such a fantastic trip to Thailand! We were initially hesitant to book through KimKim because the price was so much lower than through the other travel companies we considered, but we took a chance and are so glad we did! KimKim reps met us at each airport on our trip and transported us to our hotels, taking away so much travel stress. The hotels they booked in each of our destinations (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, & Koh Samui) were all great and in fantastic locations. We knew we weren’t booking luxury hotels and we didn’t expect luxury amenities, but we were very pleasantly surprised with how luxurious our accommodations were. Each hotel was very clean, very safe, and very comfortable — and had gorgeous swimming pools, very nice and spacious rooms, and delicious breakfasts included — far more than you get with included breakfasts in the U.S.
Leo, our guide in Bangkok, was a delight—striking the perfect note between taking us to all the sites and experiences we were excited about while also giving us plenty of time to rest and enjoy our vacation. We particularly enjoyed visiting the palaces and temples and trying out the foods in the markets and night markets. Leo even helped us order! We arrived in Bangkok early and had 2 days on our own. We spent those visiting Benchakitti and Lumphini Parks - which I highly recommend — and the Snake Experience, where we saw how anti venom is made by extracting venom from live cobras — this turned out to be a favorite experience of the teens in our group! We also visited the Jim Thompson House and the indoor floating market at the IconSiam shopping mall. If you have more time, I recommend all of these experiences. And, on the recommendation of a friend, we went to the Akara Sky Hanuman high rise rooftop dining & show experience— we had a blast and the views were spectacular!
The highlight of our Chiang Mai visit — and possibly of our entire trip— was the elephant sanctuary! Getting to interact so closely with the elephants was unreal. Do not skip that experience!!! The rest of Chiang Mai was less exciting — the drive to the mountain top and to see the waterfall and gardens was beautiful and easy for everyone in our group. We were worried my 75 year old mother might struggle — but easily did it all, and did it in flip flops! And the cooler temps at the top of the mountain were a welcomed respite from the heat. We also walked the city in our own to see the temples and the old wall. Protip: I asked ChatGPT to create a 3 hour walking tour that started at our hotel and took us to the major temples, then I imported that tour into Googlemaps. Worked great! Personally, I would have enjoyed having a guided tour and learning more about each temple, but the self guided walking tour was all the rest of my group was interested in after spending so much time in more impressive temples in Bangkok.
We purposely ended our trip in Koh Samui so we could have some relaxing beach time. My only criticism there is that the Pig Island excursion was awful and not something I would recommend. Instead of a charming encounter with pigs like we expected, we were told on the boat ride over that the pigs are very dangerous and bite off tourists’ fingertips EVERY DAY. They’re also quite aggressive. One sow rammed me when I was just sitting at a table because she wanted to lie where my feet were. It hurt and cut my leg and left a bruise. I would not take young children on this excursion at all because I don’t think they would appreciate how dangerous and aggressive the pigs are, and there are so many adorable piglets, I don’t think a young child would be able to resist touching them or trying to hold one.
While we were there, a pack of wild dogs attacked a piglet and began eating it live right in front of us — truly horrifying! — ans the piglet screamed for help. A group of tourists intervened to stop it and scare off the dogs, but I doubt the piglet survived. My 13 year old was crying at this point and went to go sit on the boat. And then, again and again, two or three boars chased down and raped sows in front of us, clearly against their will. At one point they did this right under a table of tourists, using the tourists to corner the sow so she couldn’t escape while 3 boars attacked her. Eventually we all sat on top of the tables for safety until it was time to leave.
The snorkeling portion of the Pig Island trip was also lackluster. Very poor visibility and a location that could be described as mid — at best.
But Pig Island was the only part of our entire trip I wouldn’t recommend, and it was so indescribably bad that we’ll be laughing about it for many years to come.
We ended our time in Koh Samui at a restaurant that was recommended by a local — Lanlandaw Viewpoint Restaurant. I highly recommend this! The front desk staff at the hotel (who were wonderful!) helped us arrange it all. A driver from the restaurant came to pick us up and then drove us about 20 minutes over rutted dirt roads up a mountain to the restaurant, which featured a spectacular overlook and view and great food. Be advised, it’s cash only —no credit cards!
All in all, a spectacular, almost seamless, vacation that was everything we hoped for and even better than we expected. We will certainly use KimKim again and we’re already talking about where we should go for our next trip!

I chose Kimkim randomly when I decided to travel to Thailand and could not be more pleased.

Bella helped me plan a trip based on my interests which included pickup from my arrival through ten days of robust activities and to my departure.

My driver Chin was fabulous from the first pickup. My guide Leena met me at the hotel where we embarked on a public transportation tour of Bangkok. It was a wonder way to get the local pulse. Two sky trains an express boat all added to my wonder. Her knowledge of the history and culture was impressive. I experienced Wat Arun and learned about its design and how broken teacups from China were used in the design. We visited the Emerald Buddha, The Reclining Buddha, and the Main Palace. All with rich detail from Leena. Explored Chinatown had a meal and took the subway back to my hotel.
The next day She and Chin took me to the Railroad and Floating Market pointing out the sea salt fields along the way. She even helped me resolve an exchange problem.
Chin brought be to the airport to Chaing Mai where I met Lilly my guide and Text the driver. Lily showed me the city and temples much different than Bangkok and stayed with me throughout my engrossing Elephant experience and lunch. Lilly also traveled with me to the airport to be sure all went well

The next elements of my trip were equally well coordinated. From Chiang Mai I was met by a driver in Samui who took me my boat to Koh Tao and helped me check in. I was met in Koh Tao by a driver who brought me to an extraordinary Beach resort hotel My beautiful room was 75 feet from the shore.
There I was picked up for an outstanding snorkeling trip with a side mountain hike. Tons of fish and giant sea turtles

At my next trip was well coordinated with drivers taking me to boat and airport where I was met in Phuket by my guide Ben with driver She gave a wonderful tour of Phuket. Koh Phangan Tour Full Day

Ko Samui

This was a very long day on a boat to see some mediocre places. There was no snorkeling as the water was not clear due to the rainy season, which we were not told in advance. And they kept us out fishing even as a storm came in, so the ride back in was terrible. And the staff smoked the entire trip, which made finding anywhere to lounge really challenging. I did not enjoy this day on the boat so we canceled our boat tour the next day because none of us could face being stuck back on the water all day again.

This was sweet time as a family to soak and hang out. There is nothing particularly fabulous about this place but it was nice downtime that was much needed by this point in our trip.

We were unable to go on the rafts due to it being rainy season. The caves reek of bat poop and you have to walk through dying birds on the rickety walkways to get inside the caves. I would have never gone if I had known what it really would be like. Don't trust the photos.

My family trip to Thailand was executed to perfection. We traveled throughout the country and all of our guides and drivers were friendly, on time, and adaptable to my family's needs. Communicated with our local specialist was easy as we traveled, and I was impressed that they took the time to confirm our daily activities with the hotel front desk staff, so we always knew where to meet and when to depart for the next day. Our activities included visiting markets, guided tours to temples, sea kayaking, a Thai cooking class, and a visit to an elephant sanctuary, and each excursion was top-notch. I'll definitely use Kim Kim for my next big vacation.
