What a wonderful location. The views over the lagoon are superb. We thoroughly recommend the early morning boat birding tour with Leonard, whose knowledge cannot be bettered. We also enjoyed several birding walks both around the lodge, on the shoreline and in the pine forest, all wonderful. A night walk was also a great experience. Food was traditional and delicious (though too much salt - for our taste and health, is added to many dishes - our only recommendation, especially as there are salt and pepper pots on every table should one prefer). Every member of staff was kind and helpful and we felt looked after the whole time we were there (5 nights). Day trip to Laminai was great day trip. Thoroughly recommend and came away having seen over 100 species of different birds!

Loved the location. Easy to walk along safe beach, great for swimming and photographing brown pelicans and frigate birds. Breakfasts fine, overlooking beach. Evening meals expensive, but there are lots of other places to explore including an Italian restaurant (La Tratoria) nearby for reasonable delicious meals. Staff very kind and so helpful. Room very quiet and comfortable with lovely hot shower.

Lovely location, within walking distance of Cahel Pech ruins. Lovely breakfasts/evening meals, overlooking the canopy, great pool to cool off in at the end of a day. Saw a kinkajou, aguti and ferruginous pygmy owl in the grounds. Staff very kind and helpful. Restaurant overlooking views of San Ignacio.

This trip would be better if we had left at 6am, rather than 8am. By the time we arrived at the reserve, the day was already very warm, and we missed any early birds and wildlife. However the walk in the jungle was beautiful

30 mile boat trip to Laminai, on a speed boat. Would have preferred the boat to have travelled more slowly, but appreciate that there would not have been enough time, as the boat trip was already an hour long. Felt the speeding boats on the river did little to enhance any animals in the water or on the surrounding trees on the banks of the river.

Cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Make sure you go on the 6 am boat tour to maximise the best light and the most birds. 3 hrs in boat before breakfast. Leonard was our guide, and he is truly outstanding in both knowledge and looking after his guests.

Unexpected and amazing experience floating down a river through ancient cave system. Thoroughly recommend

Having visited Mayan ruins at Tikal, Cahel Pech and Laminai our visit to Xunantunich was by far the best. The drive there was over a hand cranked car ferry, which was fun. Our guide used to work as an archaeologist on this site, so was extremely knowledgeable and had both the official story and his own ideas - so wonderful. The ruins are inspiring with views over into Guatamala. We got there quite early, so had the site largely to ourselves.

This was the best butterfly farm we have every visited. Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. We were shown all the stages from how the eggs are collected, the growing on of the pupae and watched butterflies emerging. There was also an opportunity to walk in the forested grounds and sit and watch hummingbirds feeding.

Amazing hotel, incredible view, access to the beach, very helpful staff and a restaurant on site that is one of the best in Belize.

Beautiful location and view from the room. Everything was very clean and well maintained. It was nice to have a kitchen where you could prepare meals.

This hotel is close to a forest making it a wonderful property. We were pretty comfortable there. I did not rate it 5 stars because it has limited food options for vegetarians. The staff in this hotel were great.

The reef snorkeling was amazing! Meds and Jeff from get to know Belize was outstanding!

Unique and pretty caves the boat ride can be a bit unnerving in parts if you are claustrophobic.

Great to see the ruins and learn about the ancient Mayans

Staying here is great as an on the way though option. The real life of Belize is outside of Belize City. So if you are passing thru for a night it works well. We did eat at the roof to of Tito's Vino I think it was called & had a wonderful evening sunset dinner that was delicious!!! Go there to eat, amazing!!!

Perfect....! 80 degrees, warm balmy breeze, toes in the sand, perfect food, I could go on & on! But you get the picture so don't wait, go to Belize, it was wonderful!!!!

A very quite, clean, comfortable retreat to jump off to see the Myan ruins! Paula is absolutely the best! All our guides mentioned in our review were great! Definitely a place to return to.

Our guide looked hard but it didn't get to see the manatee but we got to see so many other marine wildlife, dolphins played in the boat wake! How fun!!!

What's not to love about warm water, fish, sea turtles, string rayes!

Everything was perfect! Everyone was on time, friendly & helpful!

This was a down day for us. We had been in the go with the ruins & we slowed our pace to just enjoy some gentle walks, education about the area, culture & history from Jacer our guide. It was a perfect day to slow down & just enjoy some local sites.

I rated this even though we did not do this outing. But our friends absolutely lived it & their guide was amazing & showed them all the sites!

All I can say again is go! Don't wait book your trip & go! It is beautiful, exciting, romantic.... Whatever feeds your soul you will find it in Belize with the friendliest, happiest people in earth I believe. They welcome you with open arms & you leave as friends! All our " friends" that we have helped while we were in Belize have a standing offer at our home so we can return the favorite of their excellent care & hospitality. I hope they take us up on our offer!!!

You will be amazed at this site. One day is really not long enough so when we go back we will stay longer to get the full effect of this amazing place.

What a beautiful resort right on the ocean. We had a jungle bungalow on the 2nd floor and it was a great view. There are all sorts of different rooms to choose from. The pool area is beautiful and there is a restaurant and a Coffee/Drink bar too. They do not serve liquor, however, the coffee, wine and beer was enough for us. The only thing I did not like was no TV in any guest rooms. The only way to watch TV was in the public area by the pool and bar.

We had a Cabana room and it was wonderful. It was our own little house and surrounded by jungle/forest, but just a few steps from the pool. There is a restaurant right on site and the food is very good. You can text with the owner and have your breakfast ready for you at specific times in the morning so you can eat before your excursions.

Loved this hotel!!! The only complaint would be that they don’t serve hard liquor so no fun frosty cocktails while on the beach or at the pool. Otherwise - it’s perfect!!

The staff at Falling Leaves were incredible! And the restaurant was really great. The lodging varies and due to our travel agent screwing up our stay, we went from a pretty basic room to the honeymoon suite on our last night there. So I think it’s important to understand the different options when staying there. And it’s not true that it’s a 10 min walk to the city center. It’s a 30 min walk and all uphill on the way back.

It is a must do if you like horseback riding. Our guide were absolutely incredible - Jose and Hank. They were so attentive and always looking out for our safety. And the ruins were amazing! Loved everything about this excursion!

By far the most dangerous but coolest thing I’ve done in my life!

First of all - we stayed at Ramon’s where the excursion departed from. Again - complete sloppiness on the part of our Guatemalan travel specialist. And after I notified him of the issue he never clarified with Ramon’s so good thing I went early to check us in because they would’ve seen a transport to Victoria house to pick us up. Again, I’m sure we paid for that transportation that never happened. But the actually snorkeling was the best we’ve ever done. Or was incredible and the crew was awesome! Safest snorkeling I’ve ever done also! We saw sea turtles, nurse sharks, eels, stingrays, an octopus and sooo many more fish. It is a MUST!

I would’ve given this a 5 had we actually gotten what we paid for. We showed up at the cooking demonstration and were told they don’t do cacao farm tours and we would only get a 45 min cacao making demonstration. After I lost my mind with both our local travel guy and our one in Gautama la, after the demonstration we got taken to a random guys cacao farm. He couldn’t sprang English and we got eaten alive by mosquitos etc. it was not what we were expecting or what we paid for. Complete and utter disappointment. We totally got hoodwinked

It was absolutely fantastic! Cannot recommend enough!!

While we LOVED the tubing experience, our driver and “guide” was a man of few words and didn’t speak English well. So it was not as great as it could’ve been. He didn’t tell us what we were doing to do and then after the experience, let us linger at lunch and we missed the 1:30 boat to Ambergris Caye and had to wait until the 3 pm - missing 1.5 hours on the island when the weather was awesome. He also didn’t tell us what we needed to do to check our bags for the ferry or get our tickets. It was an absolute disaster.

I am already missing the views of San Ignacio and the staff at Falling Leaves Lodge. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, it was exceptional service. We felt like family to Paula and Kevin and would love to go back one day.

We didn't get to do the cave tubing part of this tour because of high waters from all the rain but we opted to still do the ziplining. We are so glad we did! It was so much fun and absolutely beautiful. Give the guides your phone for the best pictures and videos of your family.

You can't go to San Ignacio and not visit the Xunantunich ruins. It was breathtaking and our guide was very knowledgeable with a lot of fun facts.

The property was beautiful. The rooms were clean. The beds were not comfortable would be my only complaint.

It is a beautiful property and all of the staff is amazing. Carlos was wonderful transporting us around town to dinner reservations. Izzy was wonderful in the restaurant/bar. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable. Very peaceful and quiet complex.

Mahogany bay is kind of weird- it it under construction with big machinery and roads just gravel. It was fine though and we enjoyed being together. A little small for our family

Wow! That was a once in a lifetime activity- our guides made it so it was fun for all of us- even 72 yr old grandma! So interesting!

Lovely hotel with attentive staff. Great food, expansive menu. Getting to the village area of Placencia isn't walkable; golf carts or bicycles are available, but neither appealed to us. But there was plenty to do at the hotel for those few hours that we weren't away on an adventure!

Our guide was more than enthusiastic about his farm and his organic farming methods. I was much more interested in the chocolate, which was out of this world! Delicious!!! Lunch after the tour was terrific- rice, beans, veggies and tortillas.

The setting for this outing was awesome. Although we were there to ride horses, I was delighted at the setting--pea hens, toucans, egrets galore, and farm animals were everywhere. The ride itself was lovely, though muddy. Our guide was a pro and the horses were great. We stopped for a rest at the river, but didn't see a waterfall. Afterward, we went to lunch at a local diner, which was great.

Can't even begin to say how great this outing was. So many fish-from small brightly colored, to parrot fish, rays, and nurse sharks. We saw several types of coral, including brain and fan and more. We were thrilled to see a giant see turtle as well! Our guide made a point of making sure we saw everything we could on this outing.

Loved our stay at Ramon's! The rooms are fabulous and it was so relaxing to sit on the balcony, at the pool or by the beach. The restaurant and smoothie bar were both excellent and food and staff were incredible. We also really enjoyed the snorkeling excursions from the dive shop, the guides were amazing! Easy walk into the rest of town as well. Highly recommend for a stay in San Pedro.

Excellent place to stay in San Ignacio. Rooms are clean, quiet and spacious. The pool is lovely and the whole place feels like you're in the jungle! The restaurant was excellent and the staff was very helpful to help coordinate excursions. Easy walk into the main part of town as well.

Very attentive staff and wonderful accommodations. The Beachfront Cottages are nothing short of perfect--opening doors to the Ocean and hearing the waves each day was perfect. The Paddle House and nearby restaurants provide incredible local eating options.

This is one of those things you need to do when you go to Belize. The diversity of the fish, the boat ride out to the diving spots, and the overall trip was simply perfect. We kept saying "Did you see that!?" Our guide, Jeffrey, was awesome in showing us different wildlife and guiding us in the water.

The ruins are an amazing part of Central American history and the ability to visit Xunantunich was perfect. The 2 hour trip from Hopkins was led by Aldean, who provided insights and education along the way. Aldean engaged us in the history of the Mayan people, explained the significance of the ruins, and was great to meet on the trip.

The ATM cave tour was absolutely unbelievable. It was one of the coolest things I've ever done. The whole experience of swimming into a cave, crawling, and rock climbing inside was very unique.

Visiting the Mayan ruins was an incredible experience. It's something I haven't done before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Xunantunich site was well-preserved and fascinating to explore.
