Ramon's Village Resort

What a beautiful resort right on the ocean. We had a jungle bungalow on the 2nd floor and it was a great view. There are all sorts of different rooms to choose from. The pool area is beautiful and there is a restaurant and a Coffee/Drink bar too. They do not serve liquor, however, the coffee, wine and beer was enough for us. The only thing I did not like was no TV in any guest rooms. The only way to watch TV was in the public area by the pool and bar.

We had a Cabana room and it was wonderful. It was our own little house and surrounded by jungle/forest, but just a few steps from the pool. There is a restaurant right on site and the food is very good. You can text with the owner and have your breakfast ready for you at specific times in the morning so you can eat before your excursions.

Eduardo and his company should never have been our travel specialist. We booked a trip to Belize and he is based in Guatemala. We had so many issues on this trip and I fault Eduardo and his lack of visibility and boots on the ground. It was our fifth trip we’ve booked using KimKim and it was by far the absolute worst. The others have been incredible. While Belize was incredible and we had a fabulous time, it was super stressful basically every day because something was messed up with our hotel reservation or the timing is outings or being double booked, etc.

The staff at Falling Leaves were incredible! And the restaurant was really great. The lodging varies and due to our travel agent screwing up our stay, we went from a pretty basic room to the honeymoon suite on our last night there. So I think it’s important to understand the different options when staying there. And it’s not true that it’s a 10 min walk to the city center. It’s a 30 min walk and all uphill on the way back.

First of all - we stayed at Ramon’s where the excursion departed from. Again - complete sloppiness on the part of our Guatemalan travel specialist. And after I notified him of the issue he never clarified with Ramon’s so good thing I went early to check us in because they would’ve seen a transport to Victoria house to pick us up. Again, I’m sure we paid for that transportation that never happened. But the actually snorkeling was the best we’ve ever done. Or was incredible and the crew was awesome! Safest snorkeling I’ve ever done also! We saw sea turtles, nurse sharks, eels, stingrays, an octopus and sooo many more fish. It is a MUST!

Cacao Farm & Chocolate Making Tour

I would’ve given this a 5 had we actually gotten what we paid for. We showed up at the cooking demonstration and were told they don’t do cacao farm tours and we would only get a 45 min cacao making demonstration. After I lost my mind with both our local travel guy and our one in Gautama la, after the demonstration we got taken to a random guys cacao farm. He couldn’t sprang English and we got eaten alive by mosquitos etc. it was not what we were expecting or what we paid for. Complete and utter disappointment. We totally got hoodwinked

While we LOVED the tubing experience, our driver and “guide” was a man of few words and didn’t speak English well. So it was not as great as it could’ve been. He didn’t tell us what we were doing to do and then after the experience, let us linger at lunch and we missed the 1:30 boat to Ambergris Caye and had to wait until the 3 pm - missing 1.5 hours on the island when the weather was awesome. He also didn’t tell us what we needed to do to check our bags for the ferry or get our tickets. It was an absolute disaster.

From start to finish, this was the easiest process of planning an international trip for my family. Alex provided great options and help with deciding the final itinerary based off of our interests and top priorities for what we wanted to see and do. It made our 9 days in Belize absolutely AMAZING!! We were picked up by Cameron at the airport for our almost 2 hour drive to our lodge in San Igancio. He was so nice and informative and made the drive a lot of fun. Alex recommended we stay at Falling Leaves Lodge and I am so glad we did. Paula and Kevin were wonderful and the entire restaurant staff treated us like family. While in San Ignacio , our guide to the Xunantunich ruins could not have been better. Onil made the entire day! He was so full of knowledge and fun facts and made us laugh the entire day. When rain and high water levels in the caves canceled our booked plans, Lilia with BASS tours made it so easy to pivot and find other fun options for our day. She stayed in contact with us during our stay to make sure our tours and excursions were going well. Really can't say enough about how well we were taken care of during our trip. After 9 days, Cameron picked us up at the ferry port in Belize City for the drive back to the airport. It was like greating an old friend and catching up on our trip and how we rang in the New Year. I will definitely use the KimKim team to plan another epic adventure with my family!

I am not sure scheduling everything ahead of time was the best plan, as the weather was rainy and many things were cancelled due to the weather but no refunds were provided for cancelled excursions or tours. All of the tours/excursions that did occur were great. The guides were all wonderful. And since they were all booked through the agent, I have no contact information to pursue refunds.

We had a wonderful time in Belize. Our lodging, Azure del Mar, (https://www.azuredelmar.com/), provided a peaceful and lovely setting to relax before and after our many activities. The food at the beachfront hotel's restaurant was quite good, with an expansive menu and delightful wait staff. Sunrises were stunning, and we enjoyed hearing the parrots as they swooped through the trees near our room. When not at the lodge, we snorkeled, rode horses through the jungle, visited a Mayan ruin, sampled local chocolate, and tubed down a not too lazy river at the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary. We truly appreciated the guides . They were all attentive and provided lots of local information about each area we visited.
We had a few minor issues regarding one of our outings, (mostly our fault), but KimKIm was quick to jump in and make sure we had what we needed to make the outing a success!

The setting for this outing was awesome. Although we were there to ride horses, I was delighted at the setting--pea hens, toucans, egrets galore, and farm animals were everywhere. The ride itself was lovely, though muddy. Our guide was a pro and the horses were great. We stopped for a rest at the river, but didn't see a waterfall. Afterward, we went to lunch at a local diner, which was great.

Can't even begin to say how great this outing was. So many fish-from small brightly colored, to parrot fish, rays, and nurse sharks. We saw several types of coral, including brain and fan and more. We were thrilled to see a giant see turtle as well! Our guide made a point of making sure we saw everything we could on this outing.

I had an absolutely wonderful trip to Belize, and I can’t say enough about how seamless and enjoyable it was! Traveling with my teen son can sometimes be stressful, but this trip was completely worry-free thanks to our amazing local specialist, Alex. From start to finish, he thought of every detail and made sure everything ran smoothly.

The hotels he selected were perfect. Each one had its own charm and made our stay incredibly relaxing. The activities Alex recommended were engaging, fun, and perfectly suited for both of us. It was such a gift to be able to enjoy every moment with my son, knowing that everything was taken care of.

This trip exceeded my expectations, and I can’t imagine a better way to experience Belize. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alex’s planning expertise to anyone looking for a stress-free, memorable vacation in a beautiful country!

The trip was absolutely amazing! The Almond Beach Resort's beachfront cottages were as advertised--large rooms with doors that opened up to the ocean, friendly staff, and great service. Aldean was a perfect guide for us on the Mayan Ruins and Snorkeling excursions. He was friendly, informative, and made the experiences memorable.

I have to give Alex and Lilia a huge amount of credit for organizing and preparing this trip--they were attentive to our requests and maintained a regular dialogue throughout the process. When we got off the plane into Belize City, Lilia met us outside and told me that there were refreshments in the van for our 1.5 hour drive to Hopkins--this just made us all smile! We loved driving with Camron who used the trips to engage us and tell us about Belize.

I have used KimKim before and based on this trip, will keep going back!

The 2 hour trip from Hopkins was led by Aldean, who provided insights and education along the way. Aldean engaged us in the history of the Mayan people, explained the significance of the ruins, and was great to meet on the trip.

We met the KimKim team online. The vibe & the communication was instantly there. So, we were off.
From the port of entry to Belize, drivers, tour guides, & constant communication from Catherina & her team, we were lead through our Belizean trip with ease. The biggest surprise was our daily guides, Leo & Jeronimo. They both filled the silence with history, interest, and favorite food stops. We fell in love with the classic Belize cuisine, so we were taken to a grocery & guided to select local spices for back at home.

Our favorite hotel was the Ka'ana Resort in San Ignacio. The grounds were a traveler's paradise, the restaurant was carefully curated, the rooms were comfortable & beautiful and the staff gracious beyond expectations. This I would rate 10/10.

We were driven to the ruins at Caracol, the baboon sanctuary, and after taking a water taxi to the island of San Pedro, the Searious Adventures guide took us snorkeling at Hoi Chan. After snorkeling we were driven to Shark Ray alley for shark feeding and a bit more history of the reef and the animals that live there. All of these experiences were chosen by KimKim. All of these adventures were memorable, and irreplaceable.

On our free day, we drove our golf cart one hour away to the Secret beach on San Pedro. We were told by one or 2 travelers not to bother, but this is a MUST go! Secret beach has walk in swimming, bar service on lounge chairs under palms and umbrellas. tables to dine IN THE water! Shopping, music. It was the perfect way to wrap up our trip.

All in all, we are very happy! We will meet again, KimKim. Happy travelling!

Our guides while in San Ignacio (Jeronima and Leo) were exceptional - knowledgeable and so helpful with any question we had. Ka’ana Resort was a dream, Beautiful accommodations and the food was awesome. We were dissatisfied with the accommodations in San Pedro. But we loved the city and our snorkel trip was amazing. Havi at Mata Rocks Resort did the best he could to make us comfortable. All and all it was an amazing adventure!

Our team made our experience unforgettable. The attention to detail, the personalization, the effort that was made to go above and beyond was noticeable at each turn. I have never experienced such committed customer service as our team anticipated our every need and made sure to support and enhance our experience at every turn. I could not be more impressed with the team we had with us the entire trip. A special thanks to Joel and Giani who were so attentive and so friendly with the children. They made sure we were all together and that no one was left behind! This included putting a child on their shoulders to hike up Pacaya Volcano!

And an even bigger thanks to Vini, who was the mastermind behind our days. Who coordinated with everyone and was the warmest, loveliest person I have ever met.

Just returned from Belize and had an amazing adventure. Juan and Catherina put together an action packed trip which is exactly what I wanted.
Even though my first flight was delayed by Delta and I arrived a day late I was still able to get to all my tours except one because they rearranged my itenary @10pm the night before when I notified them after receiving an email from Delta that my early morning flight was delayed and I would miss my Belize connection and have to spend my day and night in Atlanta! Bummer!
The Belizean hotels they picked were very nice, inexpensive and not touristy. I appreciated
that.
The guides they selected for all my tours were professional fun and extremely knowledgeable.
I spent 3 days in the jungle and 4 days in San Pedro. I also spent 2 part days on Caye Caulker which is a laid back island 30 minutes from San Pedro and has a cool vibe.
While in the jungle I did the ATM cave tour which was incredible and I also did a cool hike to a beautiful waterfall which I was able to swim under.
On San Pedro I did the Hol Chan marine reserve tour and swam with Sharks, Sting rays turtles and Barracudas which have very gnarly teeth!
They also arranged a fly fishing lesson with Marco who is very patient. By the end of the 8am-12pm experience I was able to catch two bonefish.
All my arranged connections between tours and travel to the different islands went seamless.
I could have never planned such a great trip on my own.

Visiting the Mayan ruins was an incredible experience. It's something I haven't done before and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Xunantunich site was well-preserved and fascinating to explore.

Our trip to Belize and Guatemala was amazing!

All the logistics were taken care of by the KimKim team and Columbus Guatemala Travel. The entire trip was effortless, and we got to spend all of our time and energy exploring and experiencing the amazing culture, nature, and people of the region. The team just told us when they were picking us up, and everything else was taken care of. Transportation, lodging, entrance fees and national park permits, lunch, everything. Communication from the team was great: we always knew what to expect and we had an easy path for asking questions. The vehicles were new, comfortable, had great AC, and all the drivers were excellent.

All the local guides were wonderful, but one guide truly stood out. Selwin was the best guide I've ever experienced on any trip, anywhere. The Isla de Flores hotel was a local gem! And the ATM Cave tour was spectacular!

ATM cave - Actun Tunichil Muknal

This tour was spectacular. It combined the fun and thrill of swimming and spelunking, the natural beauty of the cave, and awe inspiring ancient Mayan artifacts. I still can't believe this cave is open to the public, providing access to these ancient artifacts in their original environment.

The transport is good, but be forewarned: the road to the cave is very rough and takes a while. Get comfortable, and enjoy the ac in the van.

Catherina, Esteban and their team did an almost superhuman job of organizing an incredible day trip from San Pedro on Ambergris Caye, Belize, to Guatemala's ancient Maya centers of Uaxactun and Tikal. Knowing that we were staying so far away and that we had only a day, they put together an itinerary that maximized the time we had on the ground by deploying planes, (almost trains), and automobiles...and a helicopter!!! Our chartered plane took us to the Belizean border, we were driven to customs, crossed over on foot, picked up by car and flown by helo to Tikal. Our plane pilot team--Trevor, Constantine, and Duane--were amazing. But best of all was our incredibly knowledgeable and personable guide, David Reyes. Able to speak to Maya history, archaeology, birding, ecotourism, and everything in between, it was a true pleasure to spend an afternoon with him at one of the most extraordinary places on earth. To stand on top of one of Tikal's pyramids and see temples piercing the jungle canopy, accompanied by forest sounds was something I'll never forget. Thank you!!!! It was a dream come true.

All guides and drivers very friendly, and willing to take their time with us. Also if the tour went on beyond the planned time.
all 3 maya site visits (Tikal, Xunantunich, Caracol) were fantastic, we could spent so much time here.
Unfortunately the option to extend the visit to Tikal to 2 days came a bit too late, but would have been a good choice.

Hotel was from a price point overrated, also many some points not up to standard, deteriorating. Also the spa debacle was a bad experience. Even afterwards none of the staff at front desk or resort management came to us to review and discuss this …
Food and staff (except at front desk) were very friendly and customer oriented.

Last day was a bit disappointing, as we went for a very long drive to jaguar reserve, and this was just a walk in the forest, no animal seems. This became a wasted day to be honest, and we should have gone somewhere else.

In general people In Guatemala and Belize were very friendly, great hospitality, never felt a situation that we came in an uncomfortable situation. Also complement to the guides and drivers, but we felt taken care of and safe.

Too expensive for what is being offered. Very friendly staff, although front desk experience related to spa treatment was very rude and not professional at all. Food was good, nice special dinner menu/buffet and 3 days On many aspects the resort lacks maintenance, like entrance from road is very poor, room had many small issues, etc etc.

The team did an amazing job proposing itineraries based on our interests, timeframes and budget. The trip was incredibly! The guides were very friendly and knowledgable. The accommodations were wonderful.

Matt was helpful and knowledgable. We followed his recommendations and were glad we did! There was one misalignment with what the itinerary said we were getting and what was actually provided - the snorkling day said the following:

"Today we will eat breakfast and then we will go ahead to the Ragamuffin office (Tour operator for snorkeling). They will be in charge to lead you for the rest of the day. The tour will start at the dock, where you will be able to see sharks on the shore that get fed by fish, in the meantime, you will be waiting for your boat to start the adventure on the beach. We will go for 1 hour deep into the beach to try at first our gear for snorkeling and then we will deeper into the coral reef to see the wonders Belize has to offer in tourism. The guides on board will take care of you and will make you pass a great time on the beach with snacks, lunch, and some alcoholic drinks or without. This will be a full-day tour."

However, the tour was a half day group tour with a total of 11 participants and lunch and drinks were not included.

Snorkelling day tour at Caye Caulker

We enjoyed the snorkelling. The trip include coral reefs, nurse sharks, sting rays and tarpons. We thought the half day was an appropriate amount of time to spend doing the activity. However, our itinerary said the tour would be a private full day event, including snacks, lunch, and some alcoholic drinks or without. This. was not the case. There were 11 participants, which was crowded and congested at times.

We really appreciated visiting Tikal at 4:00 am. There was almost no one in the park. The sunrise on the day we were there didn't amount to much, but it didn't matter. We were at the site for 5.5 h - all of this was fascinating.

We worked with Alex to plan our trip which included tours out of San Ignacio and time in Caye Caulker. When our trip was delayed by a day, Alex was able to move our reservations to accommodate so that we didn't miss out on any of our planned tours. The drivers and tour guides that we had were all great. They arrived on time and were very knowledgeable on the information related to the tours.
