How did you get involved in travel?

"I was born in Cape Town and I grew up in the coastal village of Willowvale in the Eastern Cape(former Transkei). I developed a deep love for nature from a very young age. I studied Travel & Tourism to pursue a career in travel and tourism. I fell in love with the bush on my first camping trip into the Kruger National Park at the very early stages of my career in travel. Being closer to nature does something to the soul, it awakens the explorer in you and you just thirst for more.

East Africa is my biggest love. I have extensively traveled Southern Africa and East Africa. After traveling to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, I feel East Africa is my second home. It is so authentic from the dramatic landscapes to the rich culture. The people are honest, charming and friendly, this is what I call the “real” Africa. Each and every East Africa itinerary I ever work on is always an exciting collaborative affair…having expert knowledge and first-hand experience makes it a lot more exciting. This is one part of Africa I wish everyone could experience-it is magnificent!"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"There are so many! My main highlights include tracking the mountain gorillas in Uganda and being face to face with a Silverback Mountain Gorilla. The breath-taking crater Lakes of Uganda. Witnessing the great migration in the Serengeti. Seeing the snow-capped Mount Kili from Amboseli National Park. The boat cruise on the Zambezi River and listening to the roar of the mighty Victoria Falls from a short distance."
