Patricia Doe

Having travelled and lived in both Scotland and the US, I am delighted to be able to put my professional experience, as well as my years planning fantasy trips to good use. It is exciting to be able to use my knowledge of Ireland to help create amazing Irish experiences for other people. There is so much more to Ireland than meets the eye and it’s a privilege to be able to share that with others. Outside work, I have my hands full with two small kids, husband, lots of pets and slowly restoring our 19th century cottage. I still find time to run and I love nothing more than exploring the roads of Sligo on my bike when I get a chance.

How did you get involved in travel?

"For me it was a case of right place and perfect timing. Working in hotels, I had always envied travel planners and tour operators ability to show off this beautiful island but living on Ireland's west coast opportunities in the field were few and far between. That was until I discovered Wilderness Ireland where I not only get to plan dream trips, but I get to work with a great team in a beautiful location. Win, win! "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Ireland's west coast is dotted with thousands of islands- some big, some small, some inhabited, some abandoned. I had the privilege of spending a magical night in a cliff top lighthouse, perched above the Atlantic with nothing but the sound of the wind and waves to lull me to sleep. The next morning a wild hike to the islands highest point gave some of the best views I have ever seen- the island, the ocean the mainland mountains, blue sky, racing clouds, lonely seabirds. Magic "
