I am no ordinary Belgian but a travel buff. Living in the country and learning from the locals, makes me a specialist in many languages like French, German and Spanish.
Since 2017 living in Sri Lanka and working as Lead Travel Experience Designer for the B2C division at Experiential Journeys Sri Lanka, I astutely pursue designing quality holidays that open the treasures of Sri Lanka to travellers; constantly trying to innovate ways of sustainable tourism that can be totally unforgettable for my guests.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in the activities of the country I live in. In the past it used to be Tanzania, East Africa and Cuba, Central Amerika. Since 2017, I live in Sri Lanka another beautiful country with rich culture and nature..."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Since a young age, I had my thoughts elsewhere but my own country. Urged to find out where habits and traditions come from, a compulsion pushed me to travel."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"I love to travel like local people do. The buses in Guatemala are former school buses, where leg space becomes a joke and more and more people get on that bus, until you think, when is this going to end? Buses in Cuba are overloaded, buses in Sri Lanka are overloaded as well... Taking the train, but first find a way through the mass of people. On top of that, some local sellers manage to go through that mass of people to sell their products. Having a chat with that person next to you, who is squeezed as well. A normal chat, about nothing and everything, and through the window you can see how you cross stunning landscapes... "
