I have been working in tourism after finalized my studies, back in January 2000. I have started in a outbound travel agency with a inbound department. My second job was in a local airlines at the reservations department. I have worked for some travel agencies since then, including Horizontes (my agency for 7 years) where I have returned a few months ago.
How did you get involved in travel?
"Since I was a child, I loved to travel and I knew that I wanted to be a tourism guide. I got a space from 20 per year, to study tourism at INA (the Instituto Nacional de Aprendizaje) a great institute of the goverment to study and it is the government entity that prepare the tourism guide to be certified by the Costa Rican Tourism Board."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"In 2004, I was in Tortuguero attending a trip for travel agents and we had the opportunity to accompanied the guides in training for the night turtle nesting tour. Walking on the beach around 5:00 a.m. I saw a little turtle in a crab´s hole trying to get out and keep walking to the caribbean sea, one of the guides told me that I can help the turtle putting my hand beneath the sand without touching the turtle. I did it and just followed its journey to the sea, in that moment I just sat on the sand with tears in my eyes seeing that little turtle touching the sea for first time!"
