Traveling is the best form of education. Therefore, I look at my role in traveling as being a conscientious and open-minded student.
How did you get involved in travel?
"It all started with my family moving from Idaho to Ohio when I was eleven years old. We ended up moving a lot, so movement became a part of my development. While pursuing a degree I studied abroad more than I studied at my university. I dropped out and started working for an airline; I wanted authentic experiences more than I wanted accredited expertise. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Every travel experience is arguably a unique travel experience (& I I hope I don't forget any of mine)!
My go-to "favorite" trip was the first time I went to Alaska with my best friend from another country. We couch-surfed, went dog-sledding, snow-tubing, and experienced a hot spring in negative 20 degree weather (Fahrenheit). The icing on this trip was that my friend had an amazing first Thanksgiving experience with a large, lovely, and chaotic family."
