Since founding the business in 2012, my aim has been to bring the stories of my region to life. I provide fun, engaging and in-depth walking tours of the North East of England and surrounding regions. Each tour tells you the story of how the region has grown from its earliest time through to the present today. We want you to come away, not just knowing the stories of our region, but with a newfound love and understanding of what makes Northern England so special - and coming away with an experience that you won't easily forget!
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"We specialise in guided tours and guided walking tours in the North East of England, Southern Scotland, Yorkshire and the Lake District. From Newcastle, Hadrian's Wall Durham Cathedral, York, Edinburgh and the Castles of Northern England we are happy to create a bespoke tour for you. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"I have always loved history and anthropology, telling the stories of cultures and places has always come easy for me. I would memorise myths from a young age and re-tell them to my friends and family. When I finished studying at university I knew I wanted to do something that told the story of the place I lived. Iles Tours grew out of that, from memorising the history and finding a way of turning facts and statistics into a narrative to providing my first tour. I have loved every minute of it and I have never looked back."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"There is not one tour that I will never forget, each tour and group of travellers who come on a tour adds to my enjoyment of my work and becomes a part of the Iles Tours story. "
