Christina Roitinger

Originally from Austria, I've been traveling for 11 years and found myself coming back to South America again and again. These days Quito is home and I get to help travelers experience this incredible place with its astonishing nature, culture and welcoming people who make every visit an adventure, unique and special. For me traveling is about creating memories, new experiences, broadening your horizons and perspectives. It’s the time when you step away from the norm and start to reflect, and maybe even make choices about the future.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"We specialize in trips to Ecuador and the Galapagos Island, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia. Adventure trekking tours, nature, and cultural tours, as well as luxury stays and cruises in the Galapagos, which are our specialty. As part of our commitment, we create tours and experiences to support the local community and help to protect the environment."

How did you get involved in travel?

"Traveling the world has always been a passion of mine! Having explored more than 40 countries with longer “stops” in Switzerland, Spain, Mexico, Lithuania, Colombia, the US, and the Czech Republic I consider myself a travel addict from the first minute on.

In Austria, I studied tourism and leisure management and after a quick detour to the IT industry, I find myself back in my dream destination in South America. 3 years after my first visit to Ecuador I returned with 2 gigantic bags and the intention to stay and help other travelers to have the time of their lives.

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Strangely enough, my most memorable travel experience was at home. When I was a kid I sometimes spent hours in front of a map, looking at all the places that there are to explore. I read everything that I could find about other countries, habitats, and cultures. One summer I even tried to learn all the capital cities of the world and I – almost – succeeded. Now, years later I could already fill some pages in a book with all the experiences I made along the way - and there is definitely more to come."
