Danielle Pretorius
Hi, I’m Danielle, born in Namibia, raised between red deserts and rugged coastlines, and now based in beautiful South Africa. I’ve always believed the best trips blend a little adventure, a lot of heart.
I work closely with traveler's from around the world to design personalised, down-to-earth journeys across Southern Africa, from slow safaris and coastal escapes to wine-fuelled weekends and family-friendly getaways.
While I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all itineraries, I especially love working with couples, remote-working traveler's, and families with young kids, people who want their travel to feel immersive, meaningful, and relaxed (never rushed).
Whether you’re dreaming of the Namib dunes, the Okavango Delta in Botswana, the Garden Route, or a remote lodge where the only sound is birdsong, I’d love to help make your Southern Africa trip effortless and unforgettable.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialise in crafting immersive, tailor-made journeys through Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa, regions I know intimately from both personal experience and years working in the industry.
Whether it’s a slow-paced self-drive through Namibia’s dramatic desert landscapes, tracking wildlife on safari in the Okavango Delta, or winding down with a glass of wine along the Cape Winelands, I love creating trips that blend authenticity, comfort, and local flavour.
I also have a passion for planning travel for:
Families with small children: ensuring everyone’s needs are met without sacrificing adventure
Couples romantic getaways: honeymoons, or “just because” trips
Remote-working traveler's: blending meaningful travel with places that allow space to recharge and plug in
Many of my trips focus on eco-lodges, boutique stays, cultural connections, and hidden gems, the kinds of places that aren’t always in guidebooks but leave the biggest impression."
How did you get involved in travel?
"I grew up on a guest farm in Namibia, where welcoming travelers from all over the world was simply part of daily life. From a young age, I was surrounded by stories, languages, and the excitement of people discovering our corner of the world, and I was hooked. That early exposure shaped not just how I see travel, but also how I connect with people.
After moving to South Africa, it felt only natural to continue in tourism, and I’ve now been working in the industry for over six years. Designing trips that capture the magic of Southern Africa, from its vast deserts to hidden wine valleys, isn’t just what I do, it’s what I love."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"One experience I’ll never forget was in the Kruger National Park, we were watching a leopard feeding on its prey high up in a tree, when suddenly a pack of wild dogs began circling below. The tension in the air was electric. It felt like witnessing a live documentary: raw, rare, and completely unforgettable. Moments like that remind me just how wild and unpredictable Africa can be!"
