Megan Burns

When I travel, I want to do it all. From wandering inside cathedrals to relaxing at a hidden café, anything that connects me to an area's culture has me hooked. When I plan my trips, I enjoy learning a few local words and researching the best restaurants around. My favorite piece of travel advice to give: check out the markets for a real taste of how the locals live.

How did you get involved in travel?

"I grew up exploring many of the United States and Mexico, but fell in love with France when I studied there for eight months in college. I had the opportunity to live with host families and take all of my classes in French, which helped me become fluent and immerse myself in Parisian life. While I was there, I enjoyed both solo and group trips to London, Chamonix (French Alps), Athens, and Rome. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"When I visited Chamonix, I skied for four days in the French Alps. Picture this: me basking in the afternoon light while humming my favorite tunes on the empty slopes. I finished my day with a delicious tartiflette dish and a cup of mulled wine, went to bed, and woke up for a relaxing day at a thermal spa. Then I ventured to Geneva, Switzerland, walked around the entire city in one day, and made friends with some locals. Yes, my feet hurt. Yes, it was worth it!"
