My name is Patricia Raposo and I’m an islander, born and raised in the Azores, São Miguel Island to be precise, as all my family.
Well I believe, that by instinct I always knew that my professional live will be related with people and tourism, and guess what, I was right!
To have the chance to share with the others my home, a place that I’m so proud off that was my goal!
The years went by and when the time to decide about what to do came, the choice definitely felt on Tourism and here I am!
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Azores, more focused in São Miguel since is the island where I live, but thanks to my 18 years’ experience as a travel agent and tour guide easily we can show you the right pieces of the Azores puzzle."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Since I was a child with 5 or 6 years old. We use to live in a very small community, one of the several that we have in the island, where everybody knows everybody and in a time when children were allowed to play with other children outside the house, so…… long time ago, before the digital years. In this small place it was often to see tour buses passing to visit a pineapple plantation, the same plantation that today I often guide my groups. I still remember to fell Goosebumps when seeing the bus passing and we waved them, welcoming …. And saying to myself - one day I’ll be on that bus… touring.
After finishing my formation in tourism I started as a freelancer, touring groups and an year later I had the chance to start to work on the same travel Agency as I started touring as a freelancer, where I’m still.

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"As in the Azores the weather temperatures are very mild and snow only occasionally can been seen on the top of the highest mountain of the archipelago (more than 6 thousand feet high in Pico Island), one of my goals in life was to see, to touched snow.
So, a couple of years ago we found the perfect place to conciliate snow and also to get involved in a warm and very Christmas atmosphere…. Austria…. To be on the very same spots were the classic movie “sound of music” took place with was magic, to be embraced by the aroma of different spicy flavours it was something unforgettable…
