Shalindra Samarakoon

I started my career in the hospitality industry and later on moved toward the travel Industry. I'm passionate about traveling and exploring new ideas. Whenever I'm free I travel around Sri Lanka, and if I get a long vacation I take the opportunity to travel to other countries as well.

Sharing the beauty of Sri Lanka to worldwide travelers makes me happy, therefore my job is my way of life.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"We are the first company in Sri Lanka to join the World Animal Protection Organization. Therefore we want to promote animal-friendly experiences which don’t cause harm to animals. We care about this island, and our aim is to promote sustainable tourism and development and protect the nature. Additionally, we support local communities. We promote a village and school visits, and interactions with kids in the form of educational holidays for families, which help to support local schools. We also like to promote unique, less developed sites and accommodation."

How did you get involved in travel?

"When I was a child, I traveled all around Sri Lanka with my family. After completing high school, I entered the travel industry in order to explore more and share my experiences with other travelers from all around the world. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"Exploring Delft Island was very exciting. I enjoyed witnessing the roaming horses on the island and the corals surrounding the island. Location: Jaffna- North Sri Lanka."

Relaxing trip, Sri Lanka - Aug 20 - Aug 24, 2018

Traveler: Geetha A. - Local specialist: Shalindra Samarakoon

Thanks to our guide Kappille (not sure about the spelling), we had a wonderful vacation in Sri Lanka. The drive was very relaxing and he showed us all the interesting places on the way. We enjoyed the hospitality at the various places and the food was very tasty. Enjoyed the tea estate, the climb to Sigiriya, the rock temple at Dambulla, the temple in Kandy and the interesting points along the way. Reminded us a lot about Kerala. Thank you for your help in putting the itinerary together.
