Tara Gellé

I'm a passionate and adventurous young woman who believes that life is meant to be LIVED to the fullest, which means regularly leaving my comfort zone. The best way to do this is to travel, as travel allows me to keep meeting myself in new and unexpected ways; through novel experiences, taking in fresh landscapes and meeting fascinating people - all of this expands my mind and heart, and makes me wiser!

I am also a total nature lover and what better part of the world to be one than the African continent. I would love nothing more than to assist you in crafting your dream holiday with all the elements your heart desires... this means making sure your experience is as authentic and full of soul as possible. :)

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"We specialize in all of Southern Africa (Cape Town, Kruger, Garden Route, Vic Falls, Chobe, Okavango) as well as the Indian Ocean Islands - Mauritius, Seychelles, Reunion, and Madagascar.

We DO Africa! We want you to have authentic and meaningful experiences. Whether you want to immerse yourself in the local community or prefer mountain biking, motorbiking or hiking the incredible scenery or experience the winelands and the mouthwatering food options, we want you to DO it as well."

How did you get involved in travel?

"I'm a born and bred South African, with Mauritian roots (both my parents). My first experiences of travel were with my family as a child - annual trips (sometimes more than once a year) to Mauritius and road trips around South Africa. I've had wanderlust since I can remember, and ended up living and working abroad for five years after university; in the UK, South Korea and other parts of Asia while I was living there. I quickly realized on my return that there is NO PLACE like home and found a job working in the tourism industry that allowed me to travel around South Africa regularly, so I could enjoy the best of both worlds - travel and living in my home country. I've changed jobs since then, but keep coming back to travel! It's in my blood and I feel fortunate to be able to assist others in crafting their dream holidays in what I consider to be a unique and breathtakingly beautiful part of our wide world! "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"I will never forget a road trip I did by myself at the end of 2014. I had just experienced the loss of a parent and didn't know which end was up, nor what to do with myself. I had three weeks holiday and not much of a plan. I started off by driving all the way from Cape Town to the Drakensberg Mountains on my own to attend a New Year's festival (stopping one night on the way on the Wild Coast, one of the most gorgeous and unspoiled coastlines in the country), then slowly started making my way back to Cape Town via the Wild Coast, Karoo, and Garden Route. It was a tremendously healing trip - I felt held by the land and the people I encountered. There is nothing like the wild beauty of South and Southern Africa and I hope to eventually know every corner of this part of the world. "

We were quite apprehensive embarking on this trip due to the fear of the unknown. However, right from the onset our fears were allayed by the excellent planning by Tara and her team and the constant follow up throughout the trip. We felt assured that if we ran Into any problems, they would be taken care of by Tara.

Overall the iterarany planned between Tara and us was excellent!!! The only suggestion we would have is for the day trip to the Drakensberg should be done in two days if time allows. Otherwise you end up driving over 12 hours in a day!!!
The Earth Stompers tour was absolutely fantastic!!! Our guide Christine deserves many kudos as she dealt with everything with expertise and a constant smile!!!
Tours organizers in St. Lucia we’re also awesome. We were very happy with the game we saw and we would certainly recommend Cape Vidal. Our guide Arno was beyond amazing. His knowledge, passion for his job and again a constant smile made the tour incredibly fun.

Overall a fantastic trip!!! South Africa is beautiful and so are the people.
