Violaine Fejoz

At Breathe in Travel, I am responsible for creating and coordinating our journeys, designing bespoke travel experiences across the Balkans. I craft authentic itineraries, carefully select trusted local partners, and ensure seamless logistics from the very first interaction with the traveler to the final day of their trip. Being regularly on the ground allows me to maintain a deep understanding of Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, which helps me create immersive and responsible travel experiences. My approach is rooted in human connection and respect for each destination, ensuring that every detail matters and that authenticity is always at the heart of the journey.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I specialize in designing tailor-made trips across the Balkans, with a focus on Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. My expertise includes creating immersive cultural itineraries, organizing self-drive tours, coordinating group programs, and sourcing reliable local partners for activities such as hiking, cycling, food experiences, lake and boat tours, and historical visits. I also work extensively on crafting responsible routes that highlight authentic villages, national parks, and lesser-known places far from mass tourism."

How did you get involved in travel?

"I got involved in travel quite naturally. After spending years exploring the Balkans and building strong relationships with local partners, I felt a growing desire to share this region’s authenticity, warmth, and hidden treasures with others. What began as a personal passion gradually evolved into a professional path: designing journeys, guiding travelers, and shaping experiences that reflect the true character of Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro. Being on the ground, meeting people, and discovering new places inspired me to turn this passion into my daily work."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"One travel experience I will never forget happened during a scouting trip in the Albanian Alps. I had planned to meet a local host to check a new hiking route, but heavy fog forced me to change plans and navigate with only local directions and a paper map. When I finally arrived, the family welcomed me with straightforward hospitality, and we spent hours discussing the realities of rural life, tourism, and how we could work together. It wasn’t a dramatic moment; it simply reminded me how travel often relies on human connection, adaptability, and trust. Experiences like this continue to shape the way I design trips today."
