From the food to the rhythms of life in India, travelers who seek the renowned cultural experience of visiting this country rich in history and culture find an unpredictable yet unparalleled experience.

When is the best time to visit?
India is an enormous country with diverse weather patterns, but usually the best time to travel to India is from October to March.

Where to go in India?
If strapped for time or visiting India for the first time, travelers usually opt to explore the Golden Triangle, the cultural hubs of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. Visitors who want a less traditional vacation should consider the temples of North and Central India, the Goan beaches of the south, and the mountains and outdoor paradise near the Kullu Valley or Rishikesh. Balance the hustle and bustle of the big cities with time spent in the countryside away from the crowds.

How many days do I need?
2 weeks is the bare minimum to spend in India, but if possible, travelers should budget about a month to see the country, perhaps broken up into several visits.

Want to explore the best that India has to offer? Get started by describing your ideal trip and we'll connect you with a local specialist to plan out the details.

10 Days in India - 5 Unique Itinerary Ideas

Pair a classic Golden Triangle Tour—including a sunrise Taj Mahal visit—with two days in Ranthambore National Park, a protected tiger sanctuary. Or, experience the best of Rajasthan, from the Golden City of Jaisalmer to the blue houses of Jodhpur. With two weeks in India, travelers will have enough time to get intimately acquainted with a handful of key cities and sites. Amazing stop between Delhi and Agra, and absolutely great for kids to learn about elephants and how they are trained and treated in circuses and streets for entertainment or even “construction”. It was a highlight for our teenagers and made deep impressions

From the moment we landed, we were taken care of with handlers, guides and drivers every step of the way to ensure a smooth and memorable experience. Everyone was very kind and ensured that we felt comfortable as we transferred between several flights, trains and experiences. The Taj Mahal was of course a memorable experience. However, Shimla was fantastic. Our guide, Kavi, was extremely knowledgable about the history of the area. We stayed at the Cecil Oberoi, which was hands down the best hotel we stayed in with its views and historic charm. We also did a hike up the Triund Trek in Dharamshala and the guides surprised my wife with a homemade birthday cake at the top of the mountain. She was really touched by this experience, which was set up by our guide Sammi. We will carry a lifetime of memories from the trip and truly appreciate all of the help in making every step of the way comfortable.
