Elements of Byron, Byron Bay
Luxury beachfront resort with private villas, two pools, a renowned spa, and chef-curated dining experiences
Overview
Kimkim's Take

- You'll have access to numerous upscale amenities, including the lagoon pool and adults-only pool with a swim-up bar, multiple dining options, and Belongil Beach.
- Each villa is a standalone private retreat with an adjacent parking space.
- Elements of Byron has a number of dining options and experiences, from tacos and burgers at Breeze Poolside Bar and Eats to a more comprehensive menu, including foraged native ingredients, at Azure Bar & Grill.
- For gold-star indulgence, book yourself in for a signature treatment at the on-site luxury Osprey Spa.
- Thoughtful inclusions like sunscreen and water stations throughout the property help elevate your experience (and keep you safe in the Australian sun).
- If you want to get active, you can pick up a hiking or biking trail, complete the outdoor fitness circuit, or use the tennis court facilities.
- Elements of Byron has sustainability top of mind, from partnering with a local laundry service that champions individuals facing barriers to the workforce to using eco-conscious products in rooms and the Osprey Spa.
- The a la carte breakfast at Azure Bar & Grill or breakfast items from Breeze Poolside Bar and Eats come with a surcharge.
- A large property, you may have to do some walking to access the amenities. That said, Elements of Byron provides guests with on-property transportation.
Authenticity
Elements of Byron captures the laid-back vibe of its natural surroundings, blending modern beachy architecture and design with the beauty of Byron Bay. Named after the elements, the resort celebrates earth, water, air, and fire throughout (in the land, pools and beach, high-ceilinged open-floor common spaces and breezy villa interiors, and fire pit). Meanwhile, Azure Bar & Grill features local and native ingredients foraged from the property and nearby and the lobby sells local artists' wares and jewelry.
Location
Residing on 50 acres (20 ha) of beachfront property, 70% of which is untouched, the resort hugs Belongil Beach, to which guests are granted private access. Elements is a 10-minute drive from the town of Byron Bay and a 30-minute drive from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport. A fun way to get into town is to catch the Byron Solar Train, a restored 1949 era passenger train that runs every half hour for a small charge.
Rooms & Bathrooms
Villas are bright, airy, and modern, following a beachy aesthetic of white walls and bedding, light hardwood floors, textured upholstered furniture, some with rattan elements, and large abstract tropical artwork grounding the bedroom space. You can expect premium bedding with Egyptian cotton sheets and pillowtop mattresses, designer toiletries, and sleek, well-lit en suite bathrooms with freestanding tubs (except Studio villas). Villas are broken out into two categories: couples can choose between five accommodation types, like the Lagoon Edge villa, and families and groups can opt for one of three types, the largest option being the Deluxe 2 Bedroom Villa, all sleeping up to four guests. Views from villas overlook the lagoon or beach.
Amenities
The resort boasts two outdoor pools. One is an adults-only pool with the swim-up Summer Salt Bar and sun loungers, and the other, larger pool has free cabanas and the Breeze Poolside Bar and Eats. The Osprey Day Spa provides a range of treatments, including massages and facials, while those looking to stay active can hit the well-appointed gym, sign up for yoga classes, try the outdoor fitness circuit, and use the tennis court facilities. The exclusive Botanica Beach Lounge on Belongil Beach, with day beds and a camper van food truck for snacks and drinks, is a guest highlight. And the Azure Bar & Grill has adopted an exciting "Forest to Foreshore" dining philosophy, executed by Chef Craig Robinson.Family-Friendliness
Elements of Byron is a family-friendly resort that offers childcare services, in-house movies, and villas that accommodate up to four members (with two bathrooms and plenty of space). There's a kid-friendly pool with a shallow end, outdoor activities, like hiking (check out the Fairy Trail that weaves through the forests and gardens) and biking trails, a Parkour-inspired playground, bocce, giant chess, and tennis, all designed to help little ones stay engaged. Villas are also stocked with board games.Sustainability
From native habitat restoration to refillable toiletries and biodegradable packaging, sustainability is woven into nearly every aspect of the guest experience. Villas are powered by over 2,000 solar panels, with surplus energy supporting the Byron Solar Train. The resort conserves water through rainwater reuse and water-sensitive urban design, and offers EV charging stations to encourage low-impact travel. Thoughtfully built on just 30% of the site, the resort protects over 70% of the land—including a section of endangered coastal rainforest that shelters more than 70 threatened species. You can do your part, too, by purchasing the signature Ocean Breeze cocktail at Azure Bar. Proceeds go toward the Seabin Foundation to combat ocean pollution.Like what you see?
