I am Alex Nguyen, travel expert from Hello Vietnam Travel. Choosing to work in the tourism industry is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I love traveling; I love the feeling on the road, and I enjoy exploring new destinations and meeting new people.
In my opinion, every trip should be special, and each trip should perfectly "fit" each individual traveler's personality, hobbies, dreams, etc. That's why I love to create tailor-made tours in which every trip perfectly meets clients' demand. Bringing excellent trips to travelers is one of my favorite things to do every day.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I specialize in tailor-made private tours, including many types such as family tour, trekking tour, adventure tour, honeymoon tour..."
How did you get involved in travel?
"During my early teens, I joined my family on trips to the furthest parts of my hometown. These trips gave me lovely memories and lasting impressions that later became a passion for travel.
Before graduating with a university degree in tourism, I worked as a freelance tour guide for English speaking clients. After that, I decided to work as a travel consultant and have been working with travel agents for many years. Thanks to my career, I'm able to travel to many countries and explore so many interesting things. During my career, I have explored many new places myself, because traveling is not only a hobby, but one of my goals in my life. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"It's so hard to decide which the best experience among my trips. I think about spring days traveling by motorbike through Vietnam's mountainous provinces to seek for peach blossoms, or peaceful moments when sitting by the fire with an ethnic Dzao family in Sapa (Vietnam) to enjoy a simple dinner and listen to their stories.
I also think about the days I explored Thailand alone from Bangkok. I visited Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, and then passed the border to Huay Xai in Laos. I love Thai food, as well as Thai people, with their kind hearts.
I've also traveled along the Mekong River to reach ancient charming Luang Prabang, then Vang Vieng. During the trip, I saw lots of green mountains, to Vientiane, Pakse, and other southern parts of Laos to admire majestic waterfalls.
I loved the morning in Luang Prabang, when I waited in silence for the monks in orange robes to pass by. That was the famous Tak Bat ceremony every morning in this ancient city. Time seems to stand still in every corner of Luang Prabang.
However, my favorite experiences have been in northern Vietnam. The region offers trekking, high slopes, forests, and lovely camping under the starry sky. I love the ocean of clouds in the mornings as well as the sounds of birds all around. In this region, I also visited ethnic hill tribe villages and explored their culture, costumes, and cuisine. I return to the northern part of Vietnam every winter to do some trekking and enjoy the majestic, mountainous landscape."
