Antonis Chatzis
Half from Athens, half from Tinos island, naturally connected to the sea and always on the move around the globe. I strongly believe that engaging with the locals is what makes traveling a life journey.
How did you get involved in travel?
"I used to enjoy most of my summers in the Greek island of Tinos, as the son of a local keen marble artisan, having the chance to develop a strong passion for the sea, marble, and the local culture and arts in general.
My passion for discovering human diversity through travel, stems from my grandpa who used to welcome each and every passer-by who visited his village into his home. Travellers from all over the world, re-visiting the village, still search for him."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Hard to say. So many to choose from...
I will take you back when I was a university student.
Florence - Piazzale Michelangelo, late afternoon. A light breeze of air caught me sitting by the stairs, watching the sun set over Ponte Vecchio and Arno river. Myself, my cousin and a couple of beers. While the sun was setting I made a promise to myself, to go back home and make Travelers visiting my country feel the way I did.
And so I've been doing since then..."
