How did you get involved in travel?
"From a young age, I was drawn to language and storytelling, which led me to choose tourism as my major. My journey in travel began as a tour guide, and it didn’t take long to realize how powerful language is in connecting people to the heart of a destination. Through this role, I discovered my love for sharing Bolivia’s rich culture, stunning landscapes, and warm-hearted people with the world."

"In 2018 I went to Tiwanaku with a couple of Australian friends to celebrate the Andean-Amazonian New Year. We camped near the archaeological ruins together with hundreds of local people who gathered to receive the first rays of the sun. It was not glamorous at all, but it was one of the most memorable trips. I learned a lot about how the communities lived, its culture, its food and their reality. It was both eye opening and life changing."

The landscapes in the areas explored were incredible. Our last day was scheduled to be quite a long day, so we requested to scale back the number of sites planned. Our guide in La Paz and Lake Titicaca was David, who shared his expertise and love of his culture through the historic sites, traditional foods and music of Bolivia. He was generous with his time and ensured that we had a terrific experience throughout the 3 days spent together.

La Casona is conveniently located in La Paz, and close to the Witches’ Market and shops. Staff were helpful and courteous and the view from the breakfast room on the 6th floor was beautiful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Geysers, colored lagoons and back to Uyuni
Bolivia
The excursion today was expected to take about 14 hours, given some of the slow and bumpy road conditions in the south. My husband was not feeling well, so we visited the flamingoes in the lagoons, and skipped the green and red lagoons and geysers. This still took about 7 hours. I think the days are not balanced in terms of drive time - day 2 seemed lighter and day 3 too long. I would suggest a different mix of hotels to allow drivers to reach the south in a more reasonable time.

David did an amazing job of sharing the best of La Paz. We loved the gondola rides over the city, and the walk through the historic old town. David’s English is excellent. We enjoyed learning about the people of Bolivia and their traditions and beliefs. We even added a stop for some specialty coffee at HB Bronze in La Paz.

Incredible time in Bolivia! We had a jam packed 4-5 days in Bolivia seeing everything from the desert 🌵 & salt flats to La Paz and lake Titicaca. First met up with David our guide & driver & headed for Copacabana & Island of the Moon & Sun
Alvero our guide & Arial our driver were waiting patiently for us at the airport in Uyuni. It had been delayed about 2 hours & off we went. We still got to do everything regardless on the first day. We had an incredible lunch & sunset on the salt flats. Alvero always making sure we were ok.

The variety of things to do in Bolivia was outstanding. Camila did a great job of organizing everything, demonstrating amazing flexibility and an ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately the roads were less maintained than the driver and guide had expected, or seen in their previous travels, so this day ended up taking us 14 hours, getting us to our hotel in Uyuni around 10PM and limiting how much free time we had at each destination (all of about 10min at each site). As two very active, adventurous travelers we found ourselves very restless sitting in a car all day, but I'm not sure how else this could have been planned, since all the sites we wanted to see were spread out.

We also did the death road ride which team of gravity was excellent with strong emphasis on safety and enjoying. 2 opportunities for improvement re 1 prewar day 1 of altitude as most of us on tour suffered altitude sickness and too late in taking medication and arriving earlier on day 1 could have allowed us to do the valley of the moon tour day 1 and hence allowed day 2 to visit other locations in Chile in San Pedro de Atacama. Thanks Camaros for a wonderful trip and beautiful memories of your country.

As prewarned, room was simple with no internet, no hot water etc. with extra layers of clothing and multiple blankets no issues with the cold temperatures.
Hotel is new and still being completed and hence wifi etc. it working. Otherwise given cold temp overnight, bed was warm with lots of blankets, hot water for shower etc.

Amazing scenery with lots of flamingos and Lamas in the wild. Again a lot of natural beauty with the lagoons and mountain side that is hard to put into words. It’s well preserved despite tourist thus giving a great natural experience.
