My name is Fleur, a 24-year-old Dutch girl who was born and raised in the Achterhoek, located in the very eastern part of the Netherlands. I now live in Nijmegen, which is the oldest city in the Netherlands and steeped in history. I decided to study Tourism Management because I have always been excited about traveling, adventure, getting to know new cultures, and meeting new people from all over the world. I am curious, and I enjoy experiencing new things which are local, authentic, and unique. I am excited to support travelers with customizing an unforgettable trip to the Netherlands and Belgium, which is full of authentic experiences that are off the beaten track with local guides, amazing food, and unique accommodations.

How did you get involved in travel?

"After secondary school, I decided to study Tourism Management in Deventer, a small but beautiful city in the Netherlands. While studying, I gained a lot of knowledge about hospitality, destination marketing, destination management, intercultural communication, business economics, sales, and event organization. In my last year of studying, I had the opportunity to study abroad, and I decided to go to the beautiful city of Barcelona. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Management in 2023, and I got the opportunity to work as a destination marketer at a Destination Management Organization in the eastern part of the Netherlands. After working for one and a half years, I decided I wanted to explore more of the world, so I packed my stuff to go on a solo backpacking adventure to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia, which turned out to be an unforgettable and amazing experience!"

In Cambodia, I went on a trek through the jungle in Mondulkiri, accompanied by a local guide from the Bunong minority. During the two-day trek, we walked almost fifty kilometers, caught our own fish, prepared our own food, and learned about the many animals and plants, while sleeping in hammocks at night. It was an incredibly unique and authentic experience, and it made a deep impression on me that I will never forget. "

Fleur and her team put together and amazing trip for us! We are a couple that is looking to relocate to the Netherlands and we had asked for a specific trip that would showcase more than just the typical tourist sites. They delivered. The self-guided bike trip from Haarlem to the beach was eye opening to someone that was nervous about that aspect of Dutch culture and daily life. All of the guided tours we took were given by local experts that answered all of our questions with enthusiasm and professionalism. This hotel and staff were knowledgeable, the room was clean and nicely done. Very close to Amsterdam Central which is perfect when you want to explore beyond Amsterdam. The full breakfast was delicious each morning.

Those Dam Boat Guys boat tour was fun! We laughed, learned history and really saw the various parts of the city. I loved the story of the bicycle with flowers 🌺

The day trip to Haarlem was a step back in time. Sections of the city give the feeling of medieval times with the streets, shops and museums . You get a true sense of the period, but walk a few streets over and it a century later.

Peter our guide through the windmill explained how the netherlands increased the land with the use if windmills and moving water. It was also explained how the windmills in the time served many purposes, it really helped to understand the importance of windmills in the culture.

This food tour was amazing!! Our guide took us through a completely different area in Amsterdam and showed us the beauty and history of Jordaan. The real Dutch apple pie is made in the Brown Bar you start at. This is a must do when there!

This is a true memorial to the people that lived in the annex. There are stairs so be prepared to climb, but it is 100% worth walking through.

This was a great castle to visit with a mote. The gardens are amazing and this is a great place for kids. They have lots of adult and children activities that you can do and learn at the castle.
