Originally from Belgium, I have been traveling for more than 6 years and working for several agencies in different parts of the world. In 2005 I fell in love with the Canary Islands. The 7 different islands, their people, the gastronomy, and the amazing landscapes.
I founded One Two Trek to share this archipelago through active holidays.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Lanzarote and all the Canary Islands. I am specialized in hiking holidays, family trips, soft adventure travel, multi-activity. But also tailored made trips focused on culture, and gastronomy, wellness workshops.
For me, it is important to be away from big resorts and to feel the rural life of the Canary Islands."
How did you get involved in travel?
"I have a degree in tourism from the University of Brussels. Right after my study, I left for Mexico to travel for a few months, but in the end, I stayed there for more than 2 years, working for a Canadian tour operator. From there, I spent a few years working and traveling around the world.
Now with licenses as both an international mountain leader and official guide of the Canary Islands, I am showing the archipelago I love to travelers through nature, culture, and authenticity. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"When I was backpacking in Guatemala in 1999 during a visit to the Mayan ruins of Tikal, I got amazed by the view and the feelings I had on the top of Temple 4, in the middle of the jungle. The top of the pyramid is above the vegetation, and I could feel and hear the wildlife from below. The sun went down and I decided to spend the night there, on Temple 4. So many stars, and so many noises, fantastic!"
