I was born in Reykjavík, the capital city of Iceland, raised in the Eastfjords and live in the Westfjords. Iceland has so much to offer for adventurous people, jet so many only see a little part of Iceland. The Westfjords are such an amazing place to visit, such a dramatic part of a magnificent country. Still a little bit hidden secret...off the beaten track.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"My company, Borea Adventures, specializes in all sorts of outdoor activities in Iceland and know the Westfjords like the back of their hand. Hornstrandir Nature Reserve is "our" area which we love so much, and love introducing to travellers from all around the world. The company only hires guides with thorough knowledge in backcountry skiing, sea kayaking, hiking and that have great respect for the natural environment. We design each trip to operate in full harmony with nature."
How did you get involved in travel?
"I have travelled quite a lot around the world - and still have quite a lot left, but I love travelling and visiting new places and people. When I moved to the Westfjords, this isolated part of Iceland, I didn't know what to expect. I hadn't travelled to this part before, and didn't have a clue what to think. And what happened? I instantly fell in love! As time passed I started to wonder how I could share this unique, amazing part of the world with other travel lovers - with the world! My opportunity soon came, or when I started to work for a local company called Borea Adventures. Borea is a fully licensed adventure guiding company, based in Ísafjörður in the heart of the Westfjords of Iceland. Our motto is: Borea is not just a business, it's a lifestyle. "
