Nolwen Graver
Originally from Belgium, I left home to settle in the big Latin American continent. After working a few months in Brazil, I decided to move to Colombia and chose it to be my permanent host country. I am still daily amazed by the deep kindness and warmth of Colombians, which have helped me so much to feel comfortable and welcomed in my new home. Besides its population, the true beauty of Colombian nature, its biodiversity and culture has simply conquered me. Today, it has become a true pleasure for me to help travelers discover and experience the wonders of my beautiful host country.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Tailor-made tours: from discovering the main cities and the small colonial villages, to experiencing the very diverse and wild nature of Colombia, in an authentic and sustainable way. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"While I was still studying my bachelor degree in Belgium, I started to work for a winter sports travelling company, organizing trips to ski stations during winter. After being in contact with the travelers and receiving such positive feedbacks from them, I realized for the first time how rewarding was the job of providing a great experience to travellers. After repeating a similar work experience for another organization in Spain during my master degree, working in a travelling agency hence appeared as the obvious choice for me. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"I believe that the travel experience that had a significant impact on me was my first time in South America, during which I visited Peru and Bolivia. I was still a young traveler, who had travelled quite a bit in Europe and North America but who had never got out of the western culture. When I got then immerged in these new cultures, in which everything was quite different, the dynamism of the countries, the nature, the people, the food, I experienced for the first time a real cultural shock. But I quickly got used to it and I equally started to enjoy these differences from what I had known until then. I believe that this specific trip allowed me to put many aspects of my life into perspective and helped me to grow as a person. "
